Hi everyone,
I've just updated to the most recent kindle nightly for my device, but google play no longer works after the update. How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Reflash your gapps; you'll more than likely need to set up your Google Account(s) after you do so. To help avoid this in the future, use CM Downloader (not affiliated) or another custom updater app. For CM Downloader, you just need to open the app settings, select the gapps package (you can also select other zips to flash after CM, like an xposed zip) to flash, and then download your CM nightlies through the app instead of CM's integrated updater.

Can I Reflash the gapps without wiping anything? I don't want to brick the device, as I have no idea where my fastboot cable is!

Yep, you can dirty flash gapps (I would clear the dalvik and cache partitions, but it's up to you).

In TWRP, it's just a matter of going into Wipe -> Advanced Wipe, then select the partitions and swipe to wipe.

What version of gapps do you recommend flashing? It's been such a long time since I did it now!
And what are the benefits of wiping dalvik cache and cache?

These are quick steps, I will add more info later:
1. Install TWRP recovery.
2. Download version 1.60 of Chainfire's root
3. Install the file in TWRP
Done!
I'm sorry, I do not have a link for the root file as yet but I will try to find it later and edit this post yet again.
Your first immediate mistake is 4.3 is not KLP (which was already announced that it doesn't exist).

Yes you can. I have no idea why there are struggles with root on CM 10.2 for a few people. I flashed CM 10.2, enabled root for adb and apps (cause i use adb a lot), and I can use the built in superuser just fine.
If you install slim bean you need to manually root.
So i'm on pabx 5.0.1 and i want to upgrade to 5.0.9,
Can i just copy the 5.0.9 .zip to the storage and flash it (without wiping data or formatting)
or i'm gonna need to do a clean flashing?
thanks in advance..

Clean Install,
Flash all, Boot, System and Userdata + GApps just like fresh install.
If you were on 5.0.4 or above you could have done only flashed Boot and System.

are you sure? cause i've just seen it in his site he wrote that you don't have to flash user data if you're coming from a 5.x build.

If you read all the notes you will see that from 5.0.4 he is using a new set of GApps, which means you have to flash all if you were below 5.0.4.

As mainland China can not use Google, so I did not flash gapps.
My steps are:
1. Restore official factory firmware (5.0 or 5.1)
2. NRT 2.4 Get ROOT
3. Obtain REC
4.flash Blisspop Rom
5.wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache partition
why continue using blisspop ?? just use a different rom.. a lot of roms is out there
Your bootloader is unlocked right?

Currently only see Blisspop Rom has Floating window function
I'm too used to this feature.
Deeply fascinated by it
Next time you flash the ROM, wipe dalvik, and cache before you reboot the device into the system and see if that helps

Please forgive my English is not very good, so you may not be able to fully understand your meaning.
I tried Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache
And then Flash rom
But it is still a problem.
But you say——“don't wipe after flashing”?

If you have encryption enabled, you have to wipe EVERYTHING, including internal storage.

Sorry didn't read the part where you said you got a "No OS installed" message, so you were already able to completely remove cm.
It sounds more like you're using the wrong zip or something, maybe try redownloading the zip ?

Tried with different versions of miui but no luck
Trying unmounting the /system partition before you flash it. Solved it for me anyway.

That's what happens when you wipe system. The issue seems to be that he does not know how to get the ROM zip into internal storage after messing with TWRP wipe.

You might as well just manually wipe data, system and cache in the advanced menu.
Reboot back into TWRP and drag the file into your internal storage to flash. Or you can just adb sideload the rom.
If you're trying to put your ROM in via booting up android, it's not going to work because you've already wiped the system, hence no OS.

It should mount usb by default, at least for me.
If not, go to mount -> mount USB storage to manually mount it.

I used to have a problem with encryption on a MIUI rom, and no matter what I did, flashing only system or anything other than a full wipe including internal storage didn't do anything. Thought he had the same problem

He does have the same problem. However his dilemma now after doing a full wipe is that he does not know how to put stuff in his internal storage without booting into system.
I'm not quite familiar with how open betas work. Are they invite-only? Do we have to do something to get it? or will it be available via OTA and it's up to us to download it? Or do we just flash it?
Can somebody clarify? Thank you

Beta are always invite only. You had to fill the form to be able to receive it over the air. Never the less, if you have an unlocked bootloader, you can just download that build and flash it through TWRP. The latest build has been floating on the internet since its release.

If you’re already running stock China MIUI, you could just dirty flash it. Wiping Data doesn’t wipe your Internal Storage. Backup beforehand incase something goes wrong.

Just copy your important stuff from Internal storage to PC. Flash the MIUI beta followed by a Cache, Dalvik wipe. Reboot. If you rather want it clean, go back to stock recovery after first MIUI 11 boot and wipe data. That should suffice for a clean restore.
PS: Stock Recovery would overwrite your custom TWRP on boot so incase you need that, you’ll have to flash it again.
