Cpu Bug stock ROM - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

there is a bug in stock lollipop and also in stock mm.
when you restart moto g2, you can see with cpuspy that freq.min is set to 787 mHz and not to 300 mHz(787 mHz is so high)
if you open and close "fotocamera" app this bug disappears( i don't know why) and the freq. min is now set to 300 Mhz. do you have the same bug?

Why do you think 787 is high? It uses the same voltage.

for battery i mean

Doesn't make a difference :
Here an explanation by zakee94 -
From 96MHz to 249.6 MHz -> cpu operates at voltage1
From 300MHz to 787.2 MHz -> cpu operates at voltage2
From 998.4MHz to 1593.6 MHz -> cpu operates at voltage3
where voltage3 > voltage2 > voltage1 .
Hence,
* 96MHz takes up as much current as 787Mhz
Hope it helps.

therefore there isn't differences in term of battery if freq.min is 300 mHz or 787 mHz. ..right?

Yes

If you have screen on the minimum freq is set to 787 for smoother experience but when you turn off the screen it will be operating @300mHz or it's in deep sleep

[Q] How can i overclock my lg gt540

I have lgt gt540 with quarx custom rom . Can someone tell me how can i automaticly over/underclock to save power or boost performance. I would like to be able to automaticly overclock to 800 mhz on 100% battery and underclock to 100 mhz when under 25% battery.
I've tried set cpu and cpu tuner . Both can't push the cpu further than 600mhz which is the stock maximum frequency

Locking Phone Black Screen Hang

helo guys, im using CM7.2 Temasek KANG P204-41 with Vadonkas KANG kernel powersave, I seem to have this issue where locking my phone turns the screen off as usual but when attempting to turn it back on nothing happens. It hangs with the black screen. The message LEDs seem to continue to work but the only way to wake the phone up is by pulling the battery.
Probably a BSOD, do you have any CPU settings enabled like screen off frequencies? If so then that might be the problem, try to change the max frequency for screen on to 503 Mhz.
Or you can turn up the voltages for the lower CPU frequencies. Because that might be the problem too. The voltages might be too low to wake up your device.

im using the default configuration, i didnt change anything after i flashed, since i see in your signature u r using the same rom and kernel, do you experience this issue from time to time, also how do you change the cpu clock speeds, and will that damage the phone?

alrite this is what i did that made the phone hang, i was downloading data for the game modern combat 3 on wifi, and then i press the home key and lock the screen and afterwards the keylights are backlit but the screen is lit but black, tried changing clock speeds to 503 mhz but didnt work

OK, I didn't notice this problem before on my device. But you can try to turn up the voltages or clock speeds with either SetCPU or Antutu CPUMaster. I'm using SetCPU, I'm not sure if it works on antutu.

i think the problem is cm7 temasek kang itself, not with the kernel, yesterday i flashed just the rom and still got the the hang doing the same thing, can i actually use the kernel with cm7 stable
I had the same problem.
I flashed the 32m ramhack powersave version and got the black screen thing and also the phone kept rebooting randomly.
When I eventually got to recovery mode I flashed the normal base powersave version instead, slightly less problematic but still crashed and stuff.
So then I flashed the normal base kernel. It's been about 2 days and everything seems to be good. A shame though, I would of preferred the battery saving aspects of the former.
Edit: A few crashes/reboots but only while playing like high spec games.
Yeah the power save version uses lower voltages than the normal version and some devices unfortunately can't handle it...

Ah I see.
Is there like a list of voltages for the power save kernel?
I was thinking maybe I could adjust the voltages via SetCpu for voltages inbetween powersave and normal or something.

Sure no problem...
This is the list from the latest powersave version:
1408 Mhz ----> 1200 mV
1216 Mhz ----> 1100 mV
1100 Mhz ----> 1000 mV
1015 Mhz ----> 950 mV
816 Mhz ----> 850 mV
655 Mhz ----> 820 mV
503 Mhz ----> 800 mV
216 Mhz ----> 790 mV
These are the stock voltages, i haven't undervolted at all

Ah cheers!
Seems to be the same voltages for the normal KANG kernel too!
Just before I read this I had already changed voltages to be inbetween what was already the default for me and the voltages I found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21504143&postcount=443
I think I'll keep it this way untill something goes wrong he he.
Edit: Something went wrong lol. Back to normal voltages I go!

BEST freq for UC galaxy mini plus

Hello, I am curently using an galaxy mini plus device wich I want to UC but I don't exactly know how down can I modify the values of the voltage. Can yout ell me the best values wich I can set?
Thanks.
underclocking is easy
just root the phone, install setcpu and decrease the value

This is what I sad here. Decres the value to what value?
600 MHz is default in galaxy mini and is also stable
so it would also be stable in plus
but samsung have given around 800 MHz clock speed by default (there would also be a reason behind that)
choice is yours

No no no, you don't understand.
DEFAULT VALUES:
832Mhz - 1360mV
624Mhz - 1300mV
468Mhz - 1275mV
312Mhz - 1250mV
AFTER I MODIFY:
832Mhz - 1250mV
624Mhz - 1250mV
468Mhz - 1225mV
312Mhz - 1200mV
How low can I go with the voltage I change? What are the best voltage with that freq?
depends on hardware
maybe you would be able to go a bit more low
maybe you will start getting bootloop
it completely depends on applying and testing
on 832 MHz you have applied 1250 mv which is the lowest voltage by default how much more undervolt you require
if your mobile is working OK on these settings these are best values just stick with these values
I will say
832 - 1300
624 - 1275
I go down to 1200 1175 1150 and 1100 and all is perfect.
these are way too much low for plus
your hardware may not work properly due to less supply of power
Hmm, ok, I will raise up to 1250 1225 1200 1175. I think if it works normal at these voltages I will keep them like so,

[Q] cpu frequency automatically set to 800 mhz while overclocking cpu.

Set cpu or any other cpu application automatically set my cpu at 800mhz while i set 1400mhz max. And 1200mhz min. In ondemand governor or any other governor.
When i set any criteria of frequeny in which minimum mhz is higher than 800 mhz than it comes down to 800 mhz and stays there .Why ?
I tried set cpu,no frills cpu,cpu adjuster,rom toolbox lite.one by one i tried each app but problem is same in each case :/

Who can I use maximum CPU frequency?

CPU frequency c
I can't make it go over 1794 mhz with any kernel app
Why no performance in governor?
Are you having problems with your phone running slow or something?
