Slow charging error since rooting - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just rooted my S2 T710 on 5.1.1 using all the latest and greatest and worked great. The only problem is that no matter what I plug my tablet into it gives the "Slow Charging to charge faster, use the original Charger" warning. It had no issues until I rooted. Is this a common problem or is it something I should try to fix?

it is narrow time!
1) does it charge slowly even if powered down? your answer could acquit the root;
2) the cyanogen ROM has a root toggle; if
3) if you have #2 then go to #1;
the above is not the final solution; it rather avoids delays and provides a clearer picture of the problem...

aida64
my t810 is stock and unrooted.
while charging and in Pow er saving mode, aida64 is reading between 100mA and 400--500mA

OP,
Did you see the above? There is an insect in the forums. ☺

[Q] My captivate turns off randomly subsequent to installing MIUI 4 roms?

If I leave my phone charging over night, I wake up in the morning finding it off. Which is bad because my phone is my alarm, ha. This only started happening after I flashed WEUI and then ASNET MIUI. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm running MIUI ASNET 1.4.4 with the latest glitch kernel.

Lots of people have this issue, seems to be a hardware related under certain conditions, like when the battery is fully charged, wifi on.
Google "Captivate random shut downs" and you will find a lot of info.
I have a Captivate running Android 4.0.2 (ICS).
I will continue searching and just asked "Captivate Keep Alive" app developer (see "Play Store") if it is compatible with ICS.
If you're on Glitch, try bumping up the voltage of the lowest frequencies by +25 mV.

Thanks for the support. It's been about a month and I've learned to live with it. I've tried Captivate Keep Alive for a few weeks and it hasn't been much help. My main concern is having my Captivate survive the night. Nowadays, it'd turn off and the battery would discharge despite being plugged in.
As for Glitch kernel, I'm using Semaphore at the moment but I'll try that out. Thanks.
In case you are still looking. I think I'm in the same boat as you. Captivate Keep Alive worked fine for GB, but all ICS roms (and kernels) introduced the shutdown during charging. The fix is this app : Wake Lock. It does the same thing KA but it doesn't turn off when the phone is charging. Problem with Wake Lock is that you gotta control it manually.
So hopefully in the future they'll be a KA version with that option.

Thanks so much for the response. Maybe I can finally use my phone as an alarm again, ha. Which option do I choose in Wake Alarm? I'm going with CPU on, screen off, keyboard off at the moment.

I was using "Captivate Keep Alive" some on GB Roms, but was appearing incompatible with ICS, as the app, though still present, would turn off before it was supposed to.

I had raised my min CPU to 200 for shut downs.
Saw this post, I've never changed any of my voltage settings, never OC's, etc. I'm presuming in NS Tools, presuming from the "volt" tab, but am unsure of what to change to bump up min frequency.
Thanks

[Q] How too improve battery life

I wonder i just bought a new Xperia T (james bond version).
But what i found out is that the phone is really fast empty.
I had a htc one v, and i didnt use my phone and was up to 60-70%,
With my xperia T i will not even make the complete work day (most of the time the phone is in my pocket)
I did do bravia engine off, screen in the middle/dark, auto on/off.
I do have sync on, facebook/twitter but dont the auto one that you can setup with sony
I run the same apps as i did on my htc.. but why is it empty so quick?
Is it a software issue because the phone is so new?
Please post in the correct forum. There's even a sticky about this in the General section.
Thanks
AvRS

There have been mixed results on battery life. Personally my phone has been great on battery life but I'm careful what I install and keep an eye on what might be draining my charge.
If you don't have 5-6 hours screen time and your phone is still discharging within 12 hours or so then it's likely to be an app hammering your battery.
---------- Post added at 07:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:08 PM ----------
You could also try installing CPU Spy to make sure the phone is going into deep sleep mode.
You could also try turning off WiFi when not in use to see if that makes a difference.

[Q]Galaxy Note stuck at bootscreen (GB 2.3.6)

Hi,
I was playing a game with my phone when suddenly the phone crashed (errors about framework or something) and now it is stuck at the bootscreen. Anyone who can help me?
It's running GB 2.3.6, rooted phone. I'm able to get into CWM-recovery and downloade mode.
I have a backup from a week ago but I don't want to lose my data from last week.
Thanks
The least you could do is clear cache and dalvik cache and see if your phone boots. If not..data wipe is the only way.

There is one more FIX PERMISSION
First of all thanks for the replies. I ran a full recovery backup yesterday and my problem was "solved".
Today I played The Simpsons again and my screen started flikkering. I thought it was due to low battery but I still had 60-70% battery.
When I rebooted my phone I could start it, fill in my pin code and it worked-ish. After a few seconds my screen started flikkering again and shut off my phone.
I turned it on again and quickly went into flight mode, everything seemed fine, untill I activated my 3g connection again. The screen started flikkering immediatly again and shut my phone off. You guys know what possible could be going on?
-edit-
It is also flickering when in flight mode...When there is load it flickers it seems...
Battery problems. I just faced the same problem like right now.
Was stuck at boot screen :/
Keep your phone for charging for like 15 minutes.
Recovery will work.

Change that battery of yours. it should solve everything, if the battery is bloated

Android OS Draining Battery (aka Keep Awake Problem) Need Help

Hello All,
As the topic says my battery is being drained by Android OS. It is awake all the time and my battery is depleted within 16hrs.
Some information regarding my phone;
1) Stock software, (N920C) Baseband N920CXXU1AOH2 with build nr LMY47X.N920CXXU1AOH4
2) Already tried clean cache,
3) Already tried re-installed stock firmware from Sammobile,
Have Package Disabler Pro and GSam Battery Monitor. Please help.
P.S. : The following seem to be running all the time; (for almost 16hrs!)
Fingerprint, SecurityManagerService, DeviceTest, Passpoint Settings, Security policy updates, tuiService, SmartcardService, Context Service, Google Services, Adapt Sound, Email sync, Email storage, Email, GameService, com.sec.android.app.FlashBarS.., com.sec.android.app.SmartClip..
P.S. : With the info below if i use a different rom does that solve my problem?!
Now i gotta recharge.
Your helps are appreciated;
i have the same issue with the same model (UAE) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/heavy-standby-battery-drain-t3207782
i have a massive standby drain during my night sleep i loose around 30% or more of the battery, i tried switching off Wifi and mobile data and the issue didn't occur as i just lost 1% only over 7 hours standby but we cannot go on like that!! , I believe its a Lollipop bug and hopefully it will be resolved with marshmallow update, otherwise we have to root the device to solve the issue then we will loose our warranty and official updates.
---------- Post added at 06:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:35 PM ----------
I'm wondering if we flash the 4 Rom files in this thread: "http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/project-noble-firmware-pit-file-galaxy-t3179529 - All model" would solve the issue

My stock Nexus 6 isn't Dozing anymore?

I have a stock Nexus 6 on t-mobile with a side loaded t-mobile ota and connected to a 2015 Moto 360. However lately it seems like doze isn't working. It shows that my phone isn't awake during the time I'm sleeping, but my battery still drops pretty significantly overnight. When I wake up it shows that android OS is at the top of the list and I don't remember it ever being at the top of the list before, it used to be just Cell standby and screen.
Anyone have this issue or know if there is a fix?
I have some pictures of my stats when I woke up.
Edit: Just added some current GSam stats as well. It shows google app as the top using app. I wonder if that could be going rouge?
i wouldnt really say that doze isnt working, id guess that you have an app that is keeping the cpu busy all the time, instead of going to sleep
what app or how would I check for that on stock? I have looked myself, but I haven't added any new apps since the original update and it also doesn't show any apps in the battery stats that are keeping it awake. I also find it weird that the battery stats don't even show my device as "awake" even when it is draining battery.

will you take a screenshot of your battery stats main page, with all the apps and their battery use then post it?

nevermind, i missed it in your first post. your android os is kinda high, but your device was sleeping.

Yeah that's what I was talking about. No apps show up on my battery stats page as using excessive battery life or keeping the device awake overnight, but I still have drain... I don't understand why or what it could be. It's been happening the last few days or more I believe and wasn't happening before.

can be just google updating something on your phone. if so, just give a a day or two. if it is a stuck process, a reboot usually would fix that. i cant really think what else would cause that

It sucks I've rebooted it a few times and even before going to sleep last night after charging and still nothing... I included some Gsam stats in my original post. It seems google app shows highest in app usage but idk if it could be the culprit for some reason? I recently turned off voice detection yesterday because I thought that might be it, but idk..
I would recommend trying to uninstall/disconnect Android Wear app and the Moto 360 for 24 hours and see if you notice a difference. Whenever I had my Moto 360 connected, the battery life with my phone was never as good. Not sure if this is do-able for you at all, but something maybe worth trying to see what happens.

I would but they don't even ding the radar of battery life or keeping my phone awake and having them installed was never was a problem before.
I know they will hit my battery life a little bit and always has, but this overnight drain was never a problem after first side-loading the OTA, it just came up recently. Also I've used android wear and had a moto 360 connected to my phone since gen 1 came out without an excessive drain issue.
