3G reception problem with mi3w - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am a proud owner of a mi3w and for the last 3 months I have no 3G reception. My phone works flawlessly if I change to 2G only, but when I switch to 3G only I lose reception completely. The problem started a little while after updating to the MIUI 7.0.5.0 stable international. Can it be a harware or a software problem?
I already tried reflashing ROM (through the selection of "return to factory settings"), clearing cache, updating to 7.1.1.0 and my sim works in a different phone receiving 3G and 4G. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Have you tried to search network manually?

Yes I tried both 3G preferred and only 3G. Moreover I tried to connect ot the 3G network but the problem remains. Can it be a hardware problem since the antenna works with 2G?

I reflashed with the misflash tool, wiping all data and system, using the latest ROM. Nothing changed.....
How do I flash only the modem?

IDK. Also I don't know if Baseband has to do something with reception. If it does, you should flash MIUI MM. It updates Baseband version from 3 to 4.

use "fastboot flash modem" and then filename.ext

[Q]3G network on MiniCM7

Hello,
I couldn't find a thread for this issue, so here it goes:
I was successfully able to install nAa kernel + MiniCM7 2.1.9 and all is working excellent, except for the 3g/2g/edge network... Is there something I should install or configure?
Sorry for my english, I'm from Argentina. My provider is Movistar.
Thanks!

Most unusual coincidence! I'm replying you on the same ROM - using the same device. Except I'm on 3G. The issue may be with your provider. Switch to 3G only and let's know the results.
Thanks for the reply!
I've tried GSM/WCDMA, WCDMA only, GSM only, etc... All the same... It doesn't work.
I've also tried the "only 2G" check... Nothing.
Let's hope somebody can help us...
Let me get this straight: Is it a 3G problem? Or is it an outright connectivity problem. "WCDMA only" works just fine for me. A Dalvik cache wipe sometimes is all you need. But let that be your final resort (after a nandroid backup). Cheers.

Uh, I can use the line for calling or messaging, if that's the question... The problem seems to be with data transfer(?). The navigator keeps saying that there's no connection available, or something like that.
Do you have mobile data enabled?
Do you have the correct APN settings for your provider?
Thanks!!!

Check Here to chose your forum/Guide by Version of your phone or you will have more problems by using wrong solutions due to different versions of Galaxy S
try menu>setting>wireless and Networks> Mobile networks, to select your network

Ok, since posting i have managed to Update the fiirmware to 2.3.3 gingerbread using odin. But am still unable to use it on o2/Tesco mobile or even on Tmobile now! Emergency calls only, and gives the error (mobile network not available). I might be wrong, but i suspect something like the firmware for the modem or something?..

I8190N Data bug

Hi all,
I am currently on stock 4.1.2 JB build of this years January.
Whenever I start my phone, the internet/data connectivity is a G, so GSM rather than H/3G. That is, until I search for networks and set it to my carrier (being 3 IRL) BUT the thing is it is actually already on 3 IRL, so it definitely isn't roaming. Why does this happen? Do I have to live with it? It never occured with a previous stock build, or Maclaws CM10.2. It's not major, it just gets really annoying. Cheers!

GSM seems to be prefered when Mobile data is off. Unless it doesnt swtich to 3G/H while using Mobile data (e.g. browsing the internet) there shouldnt be any problem.

No, see, I permanently have my mobile data on. I have my phone off over night. When I turn it on, it is always on GSM no matter what, until I manually search networks and switch it back to 3G/H (by selecting my network)
So theoretically, GSM isn't preferred because I have 3-4 bars of 3G/H.

You might try to flash baseband from Ireland (Three) instead of the one (i assume) you are using at the moment, as it is specifically for Three.

If I flash that firmware with Odin, do I need to wipe data? Or can you update stock roms with a dirty flash too?

Flashing it on top of stock rom with Odin would be like updating (normally no user data/apps lost), but you would however lose root and potentially custom recovery (post reboot after flash). Taking a nandroid backup prior this is advised, as always.

Yes, my roaming carrier is Vodafone IE, so on boot it's always set to that instead of 3 IRL. I have it on auto mode, but theoretically WCDMA should be preferred since I have 4 bars of H right now.

HTC ONE HTL22 Radio Problem

I have a HTC J ONE HTL22 and a few days ago I lost my network signal completely. Contacted my network provider everything was good, bought a new sim tried that and still no network. The day I lost it I went into the service menu #*#*4636*#*# and into Phone Information and was just trying some different network settings. I clicked select radio band...and I saw Euro Band,Japan Band,US Band ,AUS Band ,AUS2 Band. I tried US Band to see the result and than i lost that menu ,now I only see Automatic, Cellular(800-MHz Band) and PCS(1900-MHz Band). When I try Automatic it says Unsuccessful. The other 2 successfully work but don't give me my network back? I've done a factory reset and still nothing changes. When I manually search for a network,it comes up blank. before it showed Bell,Telus,Rogers etc. So it's defiantly something with my radio.
My cell is UNLOCKED, S-OFF, CID-11111111, HBOOT-1.54.0000, RADIO-1.23.11.0829 and CWM installed, running stock 4.2.2. So I'm wondering is there a way to reset my radio or any help on flashing a new radio? Thanks

This might be of a bit more value. It seems the prior link was for a different HTC One model. Above link is for M7. Check it out if you still need a radio/baseband.
I also realized your phone is a Japanese variant...I dont know if that makes a difference or not in compatibility, but I wanted to mention you could try using ADB to flash the radio/baseband instead of using recovery. I think you could also upgrade your firmware, which usually includes the baseband. Good luck...
Thanks for reply
Nothing help
flash radio through fasboot and TWRP does not matter
Same here...still no luck yet. Still have no network. Makes no sense why the radio bands cant be restored!?
many service centers, many ROMs nothing help
