So here is what I know, an attempt was made to update my G2 by someone other than myself. It now has a black screen and no recovery, it has also been attempted to be repaired by the same person. My pc no longer sees my phone, no download mode or anything else. Is there any hope for this device?
Well, any thoughts from the vast knowledge pooled on here?

When you start it pick #4 fixed then #5 unbrick.. You must have had USB Debugging mode Enable prior to bricking.. Also check device manager in windows and check ports.. Will try to help you the best I can, had the same issue 3 days after getting the phone.. If you get it to work after use th Lg program and do fix phone or you will have a lot of issues.

I have the VS980 (Verizon version) and I was completely...and I mean completely dead (due to my own mistake) , no charge, no power, no download mode, no led, nothing at all. I had a full on 100% brick sitting on my desk. BUT.....I went here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404 and was able to bring it back to life. Now yes you do have to open the device and mess with inside parts but i was able to get mine going. The guide here is for the other models (specifically not the vs980) but I was able to finagle the inside parts to make it work the way I needed to. From there I was able to boot back up and i flashed all the way back to 10B and just OTA back up to lollipop and root again and install TWRP and I'm back up to where I was a few weeks ago, of course I lost everything (texts, photos) in the process but I am back up and running and I am happy I was able to pull that off thanks to the great folks who figure all this stuff up for us.
So I would say go for it and try it, or if not I could do it for you, and if not I'm am surely positive that someone here can help you figure it out with your current situation. Cheers.
PS, if you dont want to mess with it, just let me have it LOL!

Did you try mass storage or pc mode?
I had that issue with my USB cable. I used the one with my device and it didn't come up. I went grab another USB cable in the house and it worked.
yeah, tried them. Didn't mention that cause if I understand correctly, it should be in charge only.
thanks for the help!
I hope you figure something out good luck
Edit: have you tried running command prompt as administrator?
yeah. same result.
I read in another thread that you were required to us the cable that came with the phone for it to be detected. But also, I used a BlackBerry branded cable to do it on mine, and it worked.
come to think of it, i think i used a blackberry cable to root my first d3. will give it a shot and report back.
why the heck would it matter what cable you use? Though it doesn't make sense to me, it appears that the cable is indeed important.

Download the USB and Charging Drivers off of Motorolas website, make sure your phone connects to USB mass storage after you do this, then switch to charging mode.
It took a blackberry cable *and* reinstall of the moto drivers, but im up and running and rooted. now, to figure out how to get my other d3 to stop bootlooping...
glad to hear that you were able to root sorry about the bootloop though, have you tried using the SBF file to flash your rom back to stock to attempt again? i'm just getting into the d3 mod scene so i can't provide links to files or anything other than what i was told to do in response to questions i had and unfortunately that was one of them lol,
I had to use the cord that came with my phone. For some reason Motorola is bad about not using standards. For example there was an old 355 flip phone that is a Motorola I used to have and it wouldn't charge with anything but a Moto charger. It may be the same port but not the same compatibility. Thankfully it will accept a charge from any microUSB source.

Yeah, I was able to flash the SBF. It was really exhausted and couldn't figure it out when I originally posted, but after a nights sleep, I was able to do it just fine.
Before I send my phone back to verizon, I was wondering - Is my phone still rooted after I flashed the SBF? I would ordinarily just run an app that checks, but i can't get past that annoying "activate your phone" screen.

if you used rsd to sbf you are no longer rooted.
I would appreciate if anyone could share his knowledge in this matter. GNote doesn't show any signs of life except warming near camera when connected to the charger (to tell the truth it's warm even if it's not connected). Tried restarting, download mode etc. Nothing works. I'm waitng for the JIG I bought today but would like to know if this Omap Flash could save me or is it only for i9000 i9250 and such.
It didn't turn on after failed attempt to flash TWRP kernel using ROM Customizer (which worked for me many times before). Phone didn't went to CWM to flash kernel, simply went straight to GT-N7000 black splash screen and froze. When I tried to restart it, it switched off. And couldn't power on afterwards.
Try if odin detects it even if the screen stays black
Sometimes the fastboot loads which might just be enough to flash
If not you will need to wait for the jig.

Nope, Odin didn't detect anything. Does the version of Windows could have some impact on this? I'm on Windows 8 x64.
Not really, i supose the same windows machine detected it before ?

I don't really remember as last time I used it was to root my sgn about 9 months ago. But I'm pretty sure I wasn't using Windows 8 only Windows 7. But don't remember which version - x86 or x64.
In that case best uninstall and reinstall the latest kies
and then try again to put the phone in download mode
after having started odin. Even if the screen stays black.
It's worth the try.
I suppose you also tried to take out the battery for a few minutes and put it back ?

Yeah. Did all of that (reinstalled kies just now too). But nothing works. That's why I'm curious about this Omap Flash. I don't like the idea of giving my GNote to service center to JTAG it. I still hope that JIG will help, but I also try to prepare for worse case.

Thx. So at least I can exclude this option. It's getting on my nerves I would understand if the phone bricked during bad flashing but not like this.
Is it possible that my brick happened because I was flashing different kernel while the phone was charging (battery was on 42% while it happened)? But still... it booted a bit afterwards and stopped on GT-n7000 splash screen... I don't understand any of it.
No i often flash while charging.
The kernel on a note has it's own partition
Just like the bootloaders and the recovery do.
While flashing a kernel even if it fails, SBL1 and 2 and Recovery
shouldn't be affected....
There are people wo got out of this by leaving their phone without battery for 24 hours. But I have my doubts myself on that method

Worth a try. I was charging battery overnight to check if this helps, so I can also leave it alone for a day. Not much use of a brick anyway.
Well if it would change anything, the only explanation is that the powerchip is left in an instable state, not giving enough power to boot. Hence why it's running hot. Normally it is 'set' by it's driver inside the kernel. Maybe after 24 hours it will reset itself. As you say, it's worth a try even if it is a long shot.

Seems quite logical to me. Thx.
My SGN is still dead even after one day off battery. I got my JIG finally and this doesn't work at all. Odin doesn't detect anything, there is no sound of connection etc. Tested on two laptops.
I have one question though. Is there any possibility to erase my personal data on internal memory before I send my phone to Samsung service center? I don't like the idea that some totally unknown/random people would have access to my stuff.
Only by connecting it to a riffbox, but for that you would need to open the phone and loose your warranty. So I guess you have to believe that they got something better to do then to scrutenize your memory

Yeah, but the problem is I don't have papers on my phone. It was bought on an internet auction from a guy who bought it on police auction. Is it possible that JTAG repair would be done instantly without leaving the phone in service shop? Or is it a normal practice to leave a phone for repair?
Hello,
I know there are a ton of "stuck in fastboot" threads but I've spent hours going through them and none of them seem to be what's happening to me. Or maybe all of them combined would... anyway, I would greatly appreciate some help as I'm at my witt's end. I've even somehow managed to screw up a dual boot of Ubuntu on my windows machine, but that's something I'll fix for myself later
Anyway, here's all the info I can think of and what I have done so far.
A month or two I rooted my phone. I never flashed a custom rom or anything. I altered a couple settings but that's it. My phone has worked perfectly this entire time.
Yesterday there was an OTA. I didn't even intend to accept it, I just got the notification and then my phone shut off and went to fastboot. That's pretty much where I've been ever since.
Rebooting gets me to fastboot. Attempting recovery mode gets me to the hard reset screen but not recovery. Trying to hard reset just goes back to fastboot. Download mode does not come up.
Windows sees my phone but disables it because of an error. Attempting to reinstall drivers does nothing. Ubuntu doesn't acknowledge that the phone is there under the regular terminal. If I run the fastboot tool it wont list it but it will respond to a couple commands. I can reboot... into fastboot. Anything else gets the "waiting for device" notification. My device just says "processing commands" but nothing happens.
So that's where I'm at right now. That's the condensed version of the last 18 hours but I think it contains most of the relavent information. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. I'm lucky to have this phone and I would be very upset if I lost it.
Thank you.

That's what I'm working on now, I screwed up the dual boot and can't get back into windows. Okay. I'm just going to grab my brother's laptop and use it so I can get this done. I can fix my computer later.
I'm going to start at the beginning of the tutorial since it'll be on a different computer. We'll see how it goes.
Edit: Okay, back to windows and this is what I have going on. I've installed the drivers for my phone, set up the sdk and gone into cmd but even with the drivers Windows is telling me that it has disabled my phone because it is malfunctioning (error code 43). Therefore no matter what I do it will not acknowledge the phone or communicate with it. If I try doing anything it just hangs on "waiting for device".
FIXED!

I wasn't paying attention and I messed up. I was planning on flashing AllianceROM to the latest version, and without thinking I downloaded the zip file and started to flash. In the middle of the process, my phone shut off suddenly, and now it won't even turn on. I plug it in and the computer doesn't register anything.
I realized that I flashed it with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...lliancerom-v9-available-changelog-op-t2037363, which is for the Galaxy S2.
Have I completely messed up? Is this phone basically irreparable? I can't go into safe mode or anything like that. And I've obviously voided the warranty...
If you can't get into Odin mode or Recovery, then yes, unfortunately you bricked it.

Would it be "fixed" if I got the motherboard replaced? How about jtagging or usb jig?
I should still be under warranty but Samsung says I need proof of purchase even though they know the purchase date. I seem to have misplaced the receipt and it's making me want to tear my hair out because they're basically avoiding having to help me. (I understand this was my fault but they're blatantly saying I have no warranty.)
Probably need a new motherboard. If you can't get it to power up at all.

Thanks for the reply! These are for different phones though. And where would I find this unbrick image?

It can be done for the g900a you just gotta find a debrick image. There was one in this thread but not sure if it's still active or not.

I read a bit into the threads and one person said that if the computer won't even recognize it then I probably am out of luck? Is this true?
Edit: I tried using Win32DiskImager, and it did not work. I press the power button and it wont turn on, and as usual the computer wont recognize it.

Not sure about the computer....i think it usually shows QHUSB_BULK when hard bricked...again not sure though.
If it's not powering on with a properly flashed debrick SD card then your probably going to need jtag or new board.
I have the G900AUCU2AND3 and i hard bricked it by not paying attention when a link took me to a note 3 Alliance Rom instead of the GS5 one and i flashed it, when i told safestrap to reboot it just went dead now my dad is upset and wants me to fix it, but it's a black screen it doesn't turn on it doesn't charge as far as i know and it's not recognized when i plug it in some one please help me i've tried for 2 days and still haven't found anything
thanks in advance
Have you tried holding volume down, home and power to get you into download mode?

yea 4 different times even taking the battery out before trying and holding it for over half a minute, nothing.
Well, the next thing I would try is pull the battery, plug in the usb to a pc and try the three button hold again.
i did that too, my computer would just tell me it couldn't recognize the usb device.

Go into device manager and see if the appropriate drivers are installed. If they aren't there, the device will show up with a little triangle on the icon.

yup they were the first thing i went to install since i was following a guide, in fact it's still in my computer i just checked.
Have you tried reinstalling the Samsung drivers?
Do that first. Uninstall the Samsung drivers. Then reinstall. Plug in phone. Then open Odin and try and flash.
Unless you messed with the boot loaders it should flash. The fact that windows recognizes that something is plugged in means it reads something on the phone. So it's not completely bricked.
it only detects something is there when i pull the battery out and put it back in and then plug it but if i unplug and replug it, it won't read anything anymore but i'll give it a try thanks.
Worst case scenario you've got a hardbrick and will need to JTAG into the device and force the firmware onto it.

well my computer just tells me that it can't recognize the usb device and that it might be damaged, but another problem i have is i can't find the firmware for this phone, It's G900AUCU2AND3 and i can find everything except ND3 i found NCE but can i still flash that? Because i thought it had to be the exact same firmware of the phone for it to work.

At this point I'd say all you can do is take it to your local Best Buy and ask them to flash NCE on it. If you try to flash NCE on a UCU2 by yourself it'll fail the qfuse check.
