Help

Hi I currently own a g1 but since I can't afford much these days I wasn't able to pay the bills. I've been using this phone for about a year and the paint is ripping off and it just doesn't look like anyone would want to buy it..
My question is what would be the best way to sell it?
I never had any problems at all with my phone, it's the best phone I have ever owned. I was thinking about just buying housing parts for my phone to replace the scratches.
I found this on Ebay and was wondering can i just replace these parts and sell my phone for around 200 something dollars??? http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=g1+housing&_sacat=See-All-Categories
please help because I have no cellphone right now and I really need one soon.
Thank you

[Q] Anyone have a non working Telus Milestone?

I have a Motorola Telus Milestone that I am using on AT&T in the USA. I believe the motherboard may have died on my phone and am looking to see about getting a replacement motherboard specific to Telus/AT&T if anyone has one they are looking to sell let me know. Thank you
Sir,
I'm not sure about you can find a new motherboard, it may cost similar prices with phone.
I have bought a rarely used Motorola Milestone for $300 on Ebay, I liked it too much but I have problem with the keyboard slider, it's no holding tight, shaking sometimes,
Do you think the sell the phone as parts ?
If yes, how much do you want for both keyboard slider mechanism and camera button (if it's still in golden color, mine came in white color :S )
According to the Motorola Canada website my phone is still covered under warranty for another 2 months. However it obviously does not mean that it will be repaired/replaced. I am still waiting to hear from Motorola if I should send my phone in or not. However if things do not go the way I am hoping. I would sell the device as is for parts only. I will leave a comment on this thread depending on either way whatever I hear from Motorola.
If I do end up selling the device it will be as a whole unit, not broken down. There is a website I found that has parts for the a lot of phones. Here it is:
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=milestone
I may buy whole unit if I can effort the price, please just let me know about it.
Thanks for the link, jgregoryj1
Edit : Do you know any website like that but selling single unit, too ?

[Q] How to know if Z1 is fake or Original

hello,
I am looking to buy an Xperia Z1 from a guy and I want to know what are the differences between the fake and the original Z1.
How to know if it is not a fake ?
it is the 1st time I am going to get a sony Xperia Smartphone, is there any other thing that I should know ? concerning bootloader, etc ... (for example how to know if it is sim and bootloader unlocked or not) ? knowing that am gonna root and flash custom recovery.
thks
in my opinion you can tell by just touching it. I have never ever seen a fake z1, that aluminum is something that fakers don't want to spend on probably. Also, try dialing *#*#7378423#*#* it should bring up the service menu where you can see all the firmware and phone details as well as the option to test the sensors of the device. Also, IF YOU ARE BRAVE ENOUGH, bring a cup of water. Close all ports and SINK IT. should still work 100% after.
Never saw a Fake one and never heard about someone buy one as this kind of tech it cost to much to the fakers probably. So don't worry, the probability of buy fake Z1 are close to 0% but still the probability to buy a defective one. It will be good to test it in your hands first or if you buy on internet use Paypal and an Platform which work with them (eBay).

[Q] Recommend a great LCD Screen Replacement

Hi Xperia SP users
I have done some disassembly and find out that my LCD screen is indeed broken. Since I am not a rich guy, I decided to replace the screen rather than buying a new device. Touch is fine, it is just the display module that fcked.
However I come up into another problem; all replacement parts are not genuine. Heck of course, I know this. But to actually "buy" one is not easy. The mere 15$ might be cheap for some of you. But for a school student like me, it can actually can impact my $$ life Especially currency conversion.
So what's the problem? Why do I need to ask?
I am searching for someone that has replaced his / her phone screen and that he / she is satisfied with the new screen. I would like to know where he / she bought that replacement part. in this online world.
It is just I am quite worried that I bought a faulty product. Ahem chinese products ahem. But I know some chinese product can indeed perform well, and thus, this thread.
So, do you have anything to recommend me? Whether it is a chinese product or branded, how do feel about your new screen? Would you drop me a link to buy it?
I bought mine on Amazon from Sony. As expected it worked fine.

Xperia Z1 still good - worth repairing?

Hi! I have had my device more than two years now so I'm not super sad, but yesterday when I took it out of my pocket it had some cracks in the screen, not very visible cracks, but apparently enough to destroy the touchscreen functionallity. I think I know what caused the cracks and it was my own fault but that's beside the point.
It will cost me $150 to get the screen repaired, and I'm wondering if it's worth it for that cost? I have looked at new phones and it seems hard to find anything that beats the Z1 in terms of hardware for 150 USD, or even 250, or even 350..
So maybe it's worth getting it repaired. What do you think? Thanks.
how about the c5 ultra or m5 aqua?

Both of those phones seems to not be available like anywhere here in Sweden where I live. And 6" screen is too big for me. I didn't look up the picing of those phones, but I assume that they cost way over 150 USD.
Maybe it's worth sending it in for repair, otherwise it's a bit sad to throw away it when it's hardware is fully working, but just that I can't use it because of the broken touch. There are some downsides though, that they can't guarantee that it willl remain water-proof, and that the Z1 probably isn't going to get Android 6.
I have compared the hardware specs of Xperia Z1 against some other phones and it seems to be holding up pretty well, despite the fact that it's a 3 year old phone, or am I wrong?
If you don't want to spend money on a new phone then it would be worth having the screen replaced.
While you're at it, I'd also replace the battery with a quality replacement too, and shouldn't cost much more because that would have to come out anyway to get to the screen.
I've just replaced the battery on my Z1 because it wasn't holding charge anymore.
The Z1 is a good phone. I wouldn't bin it because of a broken screen.

Thanks for your answer and thanks for the advice of replacing the battery at the same time. Then it will be like brand new again
Ok, the total cost for Screen replacement + Battery replacement would be 218 USD, perhaps I'll get a discount because I'm already replacing the screen, but if not, 218 USD is not too bad.
I can't find any phone that has faster CPU, more ram, and overall better specs for that cost so.. yeah
1) Even now a new z1 will not cost any less than 350$.
2) You can never get a decent phone under or near 150$
Some midrangers can be bought in 250-350$. But don't compare them with recently demoted former flagship.
3) The only hope of getting a good phone with cheapest rates is with chinese oems

Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks for your answers!
Guy's, question my Sony Xperia Z1 back camera is just showing black
screen when trying to take a photo… I think the people who fixed my screen damaged my camera or I damaged the sensor….
Since I have a AT&T LG G3, do u think I should replace the Z1 camera or unlock the LG G3 for T-mobile… Screen replacement is $100 I've paid, a camera replacement is $70 is it worth it…
Thinking That I can just use the $70 to unlock my AT&T LG G3 instead…

You can always buy a screen from eBay, just for 50$, not a big deal. I have changed it myself. good experience!

You might want to complain the guy who fixed your screen or by making him check if your camera is connected to the mainboard? It's not easy to damage the camera I guess, but the thing is that you don't even need to touch the camera sensor to repair the screen...
To OP, I think 150$ is too much, sadly :/
By the way, mine broke too ! I will be getting this probably: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/LCD-Display-...630061?hash=item1e97e8b86d:g:TycAAOSwDNdVn3z3
Sorry for a canadian link
A little update: Today I bought a black Xperia Z5 Compact for €460
Thanks everyone that has responded in this thread.
