um what about adb and push manually boot, system, etc etc ?
download B052 and go ADB
Then, turn bootloader mode (Power+VolumeDown) and run:
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
[ reset device ]
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
[ reset device ]
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
[ reset device ]
Code:
fastboot flash cust cust.img
then start over upgrading to B170, download official MM and do the rest

can u get in to Adb recovery? if u can manage to push through adb then you can manage to download a scripted firmware and reinstall it even an older version
You have to downgrade to the build B052 , flash it by fastboot and fix vendor (like normal update )and install B170 or B190.
It's the only way.
And personally I flash twrp before flashing the downgrade build for full wipe and format all partition, after power of and flash to the downgrade build.
Don't worry about no sim card on b052 it's not a entire firmware, not for use, only to downgrade.
Flash the vendor for fix balong
and B170
Easy and quick

He will lose his IMEI. In some cases unfixable. Just try it with the official 6.0 Version.
You don't loose imei.
Just the time you are on the downgrade build you can't use sim, but it's because it's only a transition package (like roll back package) not make for use.
It's why you have to flash the vendor, for fix your vendor market and don't have the balong bug, it's was only a wrong information trouble not a real bug)
After the flash of B171(same on b170) all is good.
I didn't understand why you want use the device's in the update process.
Downgrade and update and now use the device's,

I know something like this was asked before , but i've got confused and need help with that .
i have Chinese Dual sim version EVA - AL00 and i want to convert it to international dual sim version EVA-L19.
Is that possible ?
I've unlocked bootloader , i also found Software for L19 (all needed files : recovery, boot, userdata, firmware) . i even found Nougat (android 7.0) firwmare ..
So , can i cross flesh them ? and how can i do that?
L19 firmwares
http://huaweidevices.ru/category/huawei-p9-eva-l19 (marshmallow files)
http://www.gizrom.com/android-7-0-emui-5-0-huawei-p9-eva-l19-2/ (nougat files)
*#*#2846579#*#*
And then update from sdcard doesn't work!
use adb/fastboot to flash system, boot, cust and recovery image from L19 marshmallow and next flash with sd card method nougat update

i don't really care about nougat at this time , i just need international rom on this .
I'm almost ok with this rom too , but if there is a chance...

Hmm , you did that before?
i mean in theory i understand it's possible and i did something similar to other brands (like htc m7) years ago , but don't really want to brick this one , because i really like it
anyway what's order ?
1) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2)fastboot flash boot boot.img
3) fastboot flash Userdata ?? (don't think i've ever used this one before)
4) fastboot flash system update.app
this one confuses me more then others, because there is only "update.app" and not system.img or something like that ...
Ok so i've bricked it , because fastboot flash system update.app didn't work because of error
"targed data reported max download size ..."
no i'm just waiting for huawei Erecovery to download file
Install Adb/Fastboot, download lastest Marshmallow ROM for L19, download and extract Huawei Extractor, extract update.app with Huawei Extractor(system, boot, recovery, cust image), connect phone to pc with enabled debugging and flash images with commands :
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot reboot
After flashing make factory reset.

Huawei Erecovery reinstalled software with no problem, so there is still a chance..
I was excepting exact that thing .
now our goal is to find system.img or fastboot command to flash update.app , installing boot and recovery was quite easy and had no problem with it after i unlocked bootloader (again)

if there is at least 90% of chance with flashing L19 firmware , then i'll do that , but for now i think i'll stuck with this , at least for some days

Download the factory image of the version you desire to end up on.
Unzip it, then unzip the folder contained in it, then in a terminal/cmd run:
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-shamu-*.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-shamu-*.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
cd shamu-*
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Now, you said you wanted to retain root too, if that isn't the case, just run:
Code:
fastboot reboot
If you do still want root, download TWRP, cd to the Downloads directory, then either run:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.1.0-0-shamu.img
if you want to keep the stock recovery
OR
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-shamu.img
if you want to keep TWRP.
Now that you're on TWRP, just use file explorer to drag and drop the newest SuperSU zip (at the time of writing this, 2.79 is the latest stable, and SR3-2.79 is the latest beta) if you're on Windows or Linux, or use
Code:
adb push [I]nameofsupersu[/I].zip /sdcard/
.
Now reboot.
Have fun! It may take up to 15 minutes to boot (for dex-opting, and encrypting if you were decrypted and decided to re-encrypt), so don't interrupt that first boot process, just let it go. It will also need to "Optimize" all installed apps, so that could take a long while as well.

Bad reading by me. Sorry.
Nevertheless you can upgrade to 7.1.1 by flashing the lite ROM of Danvdh.
There is a possibility that dirty flashing will cause reboot issue. Backup first and update your bootloader and radio before flashing the ROM.
There's a thread with flashable zips with latest bootloader/radio.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59728002/
Latest TWRP: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/shamu
Why is everyone recommending the difficult ways???
Just download the OTA image from google and sideload it from your PC.
You don't even need TWRP, unloaded bootloader or root access to do it and you won't loose any data or settings.
More info and OTA images at https://developers.google.com/android/ota

Hey man, I got a problem just like you and this is the way I fixed it.
Download the Huawei update extractor:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
And use this to open your Update.app you already downloaded.
Extract the 'boot.img' and the 'system.img'.
Now you need fastboot, follow this tutorial:
https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-...tall-adb-and-fastboot-system-wide-in-windows/
Now open terminal/cmd/powershell and open the folder the boot.img and system.img you extracted are in.
Connect your phone in fastboot and run the following commands:
fastboot flash system [Extracted_System.Img]
fastboot flash boot [Extracted_Boot.img]
fastboot reboot
This resolved the issue for me, I hope also for you!

How did he brick it? What was he specifically doing (nougat update etc.)? Do you get the same error when you try and flash a boot image, stock recovery or other partitions?
Can you install twrp? If so, try wiping the system & boot partitions in twrp, then try flashing boot & system again in fastboot. If he'd updated to nougat, then you'll need to try and flash the rollback package first then dload a Marshmallow rom and go from there
I would suggest using this tool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/huawei-p9-eva-l09-eva-l19-eva-l29-tool-t3591358
to install this tool to unlock bootloader and install twrp.
After unlocking your bootloader everything on your phone is gone though.
Then in twrp you can try to repair your your partitians by going to wipe->advanced wipe->repair or change...
And thereafter continue with the steps is provided earlier or install a new rom, this is up to you.
I hope it fixes it for you.

I think the genius removed the oeminfo along with everything else he could see in the twrp wipe menu.

As soon as i flashed the oeminfo --> then MM firmware, the device booted up.
Thank you so much everyone for your help. Really appreciate it :good::good::good::good::good::good:
Excellent! :good::good:
And I'm sure your friend is glad to have a working phone again!
Explains why dload wouldn't work as well. As far as I'm aware the update.app checks oeminfo to make sure the firmware is compatible. Hence if you want to debrand a phone to C432, you have to flash a C432 oeminfo before the C432 update.app will flash successfully. No oeminfo=no compatibility for anything!!!

Hi!
I see the large number of requests concerning the roolback of a custom rom to a official and untouched EMUI 4, i decide to create this thread.
After follow that methode, you able to rest on official EMUI and get the new update automatically on OTA (directly on your phone) OR try to install custom rom with a clear and good base version.
1. You ave access on TWRP?
-If not, pleas unlock your bootloader (again) and flash TWRP recovery for you actual version (marshmallow or nougat).
-perform a full wipe and restore your partitions on "ext4" format, shutdown phone.
2. Get a "oem_info.zip" for your model phone (dont extract the .zip) and push it on your internal or external sd.
-This archive contain cust and oem info for patched your phone at the correct manufacture information.
-I have a link for VNS-L31 (c432, but is not very important) HERE LINK
-If you have other model (VNS-L31) pleas find a correct patch for you (VNS-L21, ...).
3. Find and download a EMUI marshmallow official full-ota update.
-for a VNS-L31 i advice choice a VNS-L31C432B160 full-ota update.
4. Unpack your update archive.
5. Create "dload" folder on your internal or external sd and put it UPDATE.APP
6. Reboot phone on TWRP recovery and flash "oem_info.zip"
7. Use dload methode for update (hold 3 buttons phone and dont release before "dload screen" appears)
8. Unlock your bootloader again (important!) And make a factory reset
9. Your phone reboot (please wait ) and done!
Ok now you are on official version, please update on setting menu >> update and choice, rest on official or flash a custom rom..
P9 lite brick precision:
In my personal experience the "p9 lite" is very easy to flash, mod or other tips and the risk of HARD brick is very very tiny.
If you see this page and your phone bootloop, relax, keep calm at 99,999% you have a little and ridiculous brick
Good luck and flash happy!

I did update the post... 3 hours ago I wasn't able to enter TWRP, some way I did managed, now I can enter fastboot, I did flash custOEM (sorry I don't remember exactly the name but it's the one of your post) .zip file. Now I can't do dload method, stuck on huawei logo. If I try to go to recovery, I got red message "phone fail validation"...
I know, I post on both but I was trying to do everything...
just tried... validation red error message won't let me go to TWRP now...
You have a VNS-L31C432?
Your phone does not enter at dload mode?
Wipe all partitions an retry flash a oeminfo for your model phone (if not C432 you need right oeminfo).

How can I wipe all partitions if stuck in Huawei logo? Is there a way to do everything from adb command line? (I'm using Mac and cannot use all the tools I've found here XDA neither hiSuite which is basically a backup photo/video only the Mac version).
Thank for helping, really appreciate
To answer your question in the other thread, yes bootloader is unlocked and I am on C432.
What's your rom have before the bootloop?
You have the right version of TWRP for your rom?
If you have a MM version Don't flash a TWRP for N.
Send me a link to TWRP version used (thread forum)

Before the bootloop I was on L31C900 (on the phone) but I did actually flashed C432B160 because I did rollback. TWRP used I've found in the other post where there's a OEMfile to flash (but for this I need to double check because I did look so many pages which I am not 100% sure.
I not have experience on other model that C435.
But i suggest to find a oeminfo for your variant (C900?)
For TWRP you need flash a version for MarshMallow HERE
Flash it and pas return here (fastboot flash return and first enter to new recovery)
Hi, found Windows emulator for MacOs so I extract from update.app boot.img and flash.
I did format all partitions as told using a proper twrp this time.
What's next step, system says NO OS INSTALLED?

Flash partitions on .img files is not needed.
Just find a corect oeminfo for your model phone.
Flash it on TWRP recovery.
Use dload methode to update on basical version (MarshMallow b160).
After that, unlock bootloader again and make a factory reset.
Switch on your phone (the first boot make long time).
Update on last emui on OTA.
Done!
After that you able to install a custom rom.

Thanks again you're saving my life!
IT won't turn off so been always on it won't keep the charge... Writing so because apparently it won't go to download mode (dload) if plugged in. On the other way if I unplugged from power it won't even start. Shall I force to download mode using console ADB or FASTBOOT? I had looked but can't find anything...

You not able to switch on your phone without connected charger?

Correct. Because I'm not able to switch it off it won't keep the charge. When discharged, the minute I do plug on charge it wakes up... That's the loop...
My main question is: does a command exist to enter download mode using terminal?

You have a hardware bug?
No abd command to enter dload mode..
Try flash a update.zip with twrp (not guaranted)
After that unlock bootloader again and make factory reset.

Hi, I followed this guide to go back to stock from elite rom. I flashed my oeminfo.img on twrp and then went to dload combination. Do I have to unlock the bootloader after the reboot? Thanks!
Hi,
I followed your guide and it works perfectly thanks!
This is a simple allow you to learn how to backup and save a copy of your firmware on PC whatever it is like no brand, vodafone etc..
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader.
Unlocked FRP.
TWRP Recovery, click here.
Steps 1: Disable Encryption
Download the following archive.
Reboot device into fastboot mode and run fastboot flash boot dec_boot.img && fastboot reboot.
Steps 2: Backup Your PRA Firmware
Reboot to fastboot mode.
Run the following command: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-2-v2-prague.img && fastboot reboot
Reboot to TWRP -> tab on Backup -> select all partitions -> switch storage to external sd.
Steps 3: Re-enable Encryption
Once done, reboot to fastboot mode.
flash: fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.img
flash: fastboot flash boot boot.img && fastboot reboot ( always from IMGS archive contents)
** Note **
just follow the steps and will have a fully backup, I tested 100 times while making roms for this device!
regards

Yeah but I mean can I keep it as TWRP or is it necessary to flash the stock one after rooting?

Hi Haky 86, for my HUAWEI P8 lite 2017, the build number is PRA-LA1C185B167.
I found firmware PRA-LA1C185B176 at below links, do you think they are trustworthy - will they work on my phone ?

this was possibile only on PRA-LX1C432B161 firmware, they update encryption on newer firmwares that make backup impossible to save.

You think it would be possible what they say in this post, but adapted to our PRA-LX1?
