Does anyone know if write access to the external SD card is turned off under CyanogenMod 12.1 ? I'm running this on the Amazon Fire 5th gen (2015) tablet with a 64GB external SD card installed.
If write access is turned off, can it be turned on ?

Not disabled - nor is there a native switch to enable /disable write access. Will probably have to reformat card.

Hey guys,
I got a Nook Tablet and I turned it into an Android device running CM10.1 via Micro SD card. The process went smoothly and the SD card is a 32GB Sandisk Class 4. The only problem that I have is that I don't have 32 GB on the android device. I only have 1GB as internal memory and 1GB as external memory (SD card). Is there a way to access the other GBs? This is preventing me from downloading all of the apps that I want.
Thanks!

When you say Nook Tablet, do you really mean that or a Nook HD or HD+? If really a Nook Tablet, you are in the wrong thread.
Sent from my Nook HD+ running CM10.1 on emmc.
I'm back. *sigh* I've got a Lexar 8gb Class 10 microSD card. When I put it in the Nook HD, it isn't listed in storage.I know it works, because it works in an adapter and it's how I installed CM10.1. It's FAT32 formatted with 4K clusters. Terminal emulator shows ext_sdcard with or without a microsd card inserted. Verygreen did say that some cards are still unstable. If I reboot the tablet with the card inside, it crashes Settings when I click storage.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

Try formatting with SDFormatter free on the web.

And now it works. Thanks again.
Hello,
so, I came across the following article:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-5-0-sd-cards/
Now, I am wondering:
How exactly is external SD card storage handled on the Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen when having upgraded to Lollipop?
Can you put all apps onto an external SD card?
And does it have to be done manually for each app? Or does it happen automatically?
And what about encryption?
Does the Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen with Lollipop have an option to encrypt the external SD card storage?
Or can you only encrypt the device storage?
It would be much appreciated if someone could elaborate on this.
PS:
And could someone please tell how much device storage is left on a Lollipop updated Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen with 8 GB of device storage?
Regards
Anyone?
No, cannot move all apps to SD card...I have not tried encrypting the storage yet
As for available space, I have 3.07gb available after installing about 30 apps and caching two radio stations in slacker.
I'm using CM 12.1 (12/16/2015 build) on an Amazon Fire 5th gen. I'm using a 64GB microSD card with single partition formatted as exFAT. I tried installing an app from the Google Play store and then moving it to the SD card via the "Settings/Apps" menu. When I reboot, any app that has been moved to the SD card disappears entirely, and does not even show up as being installed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I have upgraded from KitKat to Android7 (Nougat).
The Nook does not recognise the external micro sd card.
Also, when I connect to a PC in windows explorer the Nook is recognised but I cannot see any files in the internal memory and the external card is also not showing.
Any ideas please.
The SD card is now appearing as an external card in the Nook. It was not formatted.
It still does not appear on the PC
Problem solved.
Apparently due to Nook to PC being in charging mode and not transfer mode.
