[Q] Emergency Help KFHD

I had ruined my KFHD ROM so it boots with two options :
1. Reboot your Kindle .
2. Reset to Factory Defaults .
in both cases it was same result reboot with same previous options .
Can i flash new ROM from my computer ?
(adb couldn't find the device)
Please Help :crying:

Don't worry you shouldn't need a factory cable. There is another way to enable fastboot.
Power off your device and unhook from the computer.
Unzip the tool and run SR Tool
Choose option 1 or 2
It should say [waiting for device], at this point plug in the device. It should automatically start to boot (if not hit the power button) then go to a screen that says Fastboot Kindle Fire and the tool should start sending the image. This is going to reflash the system image. Be patient it can take awhile to finish. More than likely it is what is causing the problem depending on what you did to cause it. If some applications you downloaded are causing problems I would recommend erasing cache and userdata after the script completes.
To get out of fastboot hold down the power button for 10-20 seconds
Let me know if this works as I have not tried to enable fastboot this way on the HD7. Should work though, it does on the HD8.9 and the original.

Thank you very much . i followed you and yes it's automatically start to boot but it's went to the previous screen not to (Fastboot Kindle Fire) screen

Did it go straight to that screen or did the Kindle Fire logo appear first? Like it was trying to boot but then went to that screen. Did you try selecting an option? Did the command prompt change? sorry for all the questions just trying to get a feel for what exactly is happening?

The Kindle logo appears first the device tried to boot then went to the dammin screen .
Yes i tried the options 1 and 2 nothing happened .
The command prompt is just waiting the device couldn't find it .
i think that i need a driver that makes the pc recognize the device on the booting
i saw a way to make a factory cable is it true ?

Yeah I just had someone also test that method and it does not work on the 7" hd models, sucks!
To answer your question about factory cable,
Yes it is, and its really easy if you have a soldering iron(don't really need it but helps) and are handy. Basically a usb cable has five leads but only uses four of them. You have to make a jumper with a 1k resistor(thats what is recommended) from that fifth lead to the power(red) lead. Pretty easy.

so now i made a factory cable and connect my Kindle to the computer and fast boot start computer can recognize the kindle when i used the Kindle Fire Utility to install fire fire fire it turned off and never start again :S

First of all not to be an ass but why would you do this? First the kindle fire utility is for the first gen KF. Second how could you not have seen all the news and articles talking about the bootloader on these devices being locked down. It's probably one of the most talked about aspects about this device right now. What has happened is by trying to load fire fire fire, which is a custom bootloader for first gen, you have flashed over the original bootloader and hopefully not but possibly bricked your device permanently. If you can manage to get it back into fastboot I can send you a backup of the bootloader partition you can reflash. PM me and i'll walk you through it.

Bricked Kindle Fire HD

I screwed up installing CM10.1 forgot to put rom onto device and ended up in boot loop.
I got a fastboot cable but the kindle shows as Tate PVT and the update driver box is greyed out. Cant get fastboot or adb to recognise the device.
Is there anyway to recover from this

i might be in the same boat...my kindle fire logo turns blue and gives me a msg at the bottom to press power button for boot menu
when i do i get normal boot,recover,and reset boot mode...when i click on one it just says booting and power button stays organish red for ever

Maybe you don't have your drivers properly installed

If you have twrp installed and the blue kindle boot screen just hit volume down and use the side load feature. But if your fastboot is giving u a problem where u can't hit update driver I would assume it would be because windows is already searching for one still? If so tell windows to skip obtaining from windows update and it finish sooner so u can try to update it manually.

Hi Baconrind. Screwing one’s device is a good opportunity to learn new things. At least this is what happened to me and I’m glad I did. A couple of months ago I bought a new KFHD7. I spend "wonderful :laugh:" weeks as the happy owner of a KFHD7 until I started to discover the shortcomings of same, so I started reading xda-developers’ stuff to try to customise the device. First I rooted it to be able to install Google Play Store. The idea was to stay as close to stock as possible. Unfortunately I lost root with the first Amazon OTA update, then I decided to install a second bootloader, TWRP, etc. To do that I followed Hashcode’s method Kindle Fire 2nd-bootloader + TWRP for the Kindle Fire HD 7 but at some point I bricked :crying: my device. I was stuck at the Kindle Fire logo. I spent hours browsing through xda-developers and discovered that the first thing to do was to get a fastboot cable. I did not have the patience to wait for it to come from China or wherever they make them, so I found a couple of posts on the xda forum here and here. I made my own even my soldering capabilities are quite limited. I shut down the KFHD7 and plugged the “fastboot” cable to the PC and then to the Kindle, a couple of seconds later I could see the fastboot logo. Once I saw the fastboot logo I unplugged it and used the regular data transfer cable instead. Before I started the unbricking process proper I downloaded and installed this tool: KFHD_SRT_v1.3.5.-7.3. I followed the onscreen indications and could reset my KFHD7 back to its original state. [Q] deleted os on kindle fire hd, also usb drive not detected by pc

I deleted my kindle operating system and i didn't have another os and i managed to reset the kindle to factory settings but to no avail. now my kindle won't even be recognized by my 2 computers, i downloaded the update driver but i can't install it because it won't be recognized by my pc's, and yes i looked in devices and printers and its not there anymore ever since i tried to reset it to factory settings. It wont boot up. I had the kindle rooted and deleted the os using the kindlefree pro app on google play.

This will require a fair bit of research since you seem pretty new, but don't worry, this is easily fixable. You should invest in a factory cable (Maybe around $10) so you can plug your kindle in and get it into fastboot. Then, follow Hashcode's how to on flashing 2nd bootloader and recovery, so you can flash a stock or custom ROM and get everything up and running. Or, you could get Kindle Fire First Aide, plug your device in with factory cable, and choose the option to flash back to stock with fastboot. Before you get Fastboot commands working properly, you must install the drivers I have attached at the bottom. Just extract the one file inside and install through device manager. Your first time in Fastboot, your PC will probably fail at catching correct drivers and your Kindle will come up as an unknown device like Tate-PVT-08 or something, you just right click it in device manager and install drivers manually. Navigate to the folder and let it do its thing, then you're all set.

[Q] Kindle Fire is stuck in Logo after reinstalling TWRP

Hello, everyone!
Yesterday I tried to flash CM10 in my kindle fire (already running CM9).
I followed the Cyanogen Mod site (wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_otter) instructions.
I downloaded Kindle fire utility 0.9.9 (from CM site), and started the process of updating TWRP. At some point of the installation, KFU rebooted my device in fastboot mode, and kept waiting an awnser from Kindle.
It was taking a bit too long, so I restarted the tablet. Now it keeps on the "Kindle Fire" screen forever, and don't respond to ADB anymore (the "adb device" command don't return anything).
I believe it is not bricked yet, because when we connect it to the PC, it does that connection sound. However, I can't reach it with ADB anymore.
Can Anyone give me an advice for this situation?

You got very lucky, kindle fire utility is not meant for second generation devices, usually using it results in a hard brick. The correct way to update twrp is to grab the latest version's flashable zip from the dev section for your device and flash it from inside twrp and reboot. If you no longer have the blue logo and it is a 7" device you will need a fastboot cable, if you do have a blue logo or this is a 8.9" device you won't need a fastboot cable to fix, but you still need to get it into fastboot mode to reflash some partitions back to stock to fix this unless you get a blue logo in which case you could probably just flash the recovery but from what you said I'm assuming you don't get the blue logo anymore. And only the 8.9" models tend to be detected briefly while passing the bootloader.

In fact, my Kindle fire is a 1st generation one! I had already used KFU to flash CM9 on it (before, it had stock OS) .
Do this fact help in any form?

O well then this is the wrong device forum on xda... If its a kf1 then I think fastboot cable will still apply to this. Not positive, kf1's aren't my specialty, while my mother has one I never did much beyond rooting and installing twrp. Flashed a Ubuntu touch preview os on it once but that's about it.

Kindle Fire HD 7 (Tate) bricked beyond my wildest dreams!!

Hey all,
I am in quite a conundrum. My Kindle Fire HD 7" tate device is bricked. Let me explain what I have done so far...
1. I first installed TWRP using the standard and I was planning to install CM 11 on it
2. I accidentally deleted the CM 11 rom files while doing a wipe on TWRP
3. Tried side-loading the rom but somehow ADB sideload didn't work and the device was not being recognized and sideload would hang for hang (tried waiting as long as 1 hour)
4. Then I tried to reinstall FireOS using the KFDH System.img Restore tool from the forums here and managed to somehow uninstall TWRP and get it into a infinite logo loop
5. So tried using various methods to reinstall either TWRP or FireOS and after some 3-4 different utilities that I found on the forums here, I finally tried Kindle Fire Utilitiy 0.9.9 to unbrick it. Tried changing the bootmode to recovery (5000) and have managed to brick it for good.
We are now in the present day (after step #5). As soon as I turn on the Kindle, it shows KF orange logo and then switches to Fastboot mode even though the Factory USB cable is not plugged in. Once I plug it in, it goes into infinite loop with screen going off and windows giving me a constant USB plug-in and un-plug sound. The device is being detected as OMAP 4440 (or 4400?) and I am unable to do anything at all. Have I gone to no-man's land? Or can I still salvage the kindle?
Looking for some help... Any help :crying:

You should plug in the fb cable with the Kindle powered off. See if that gives you a stable fb state wherein you can push your files via adb.

Hey when I plug it in to the fb cable it boots up into the orange and white kindle fire logo and goes into fastboot and then starts re-loading in windows. After plugging in, if I shutdown the device by pressing power button for 15 seconds, the re-loading in windows stops but after than adb doesn't recognise the device - says error no device

"reloading in windows"? What do you mean? It should be powered down when you plug it in, then when it boots into fb mode, you're ready to adb.

OMAP 4400 is a hard brick. You flashed KFU and now the bootloader is screwed. You will need to look up how to flash the emmc on here.
