Hello, is possible install custom recovery and custom rom whitout unlock bootloader and whit root access? Thanks
No.
Did you take the latest OTA SU4TL-49 and now you can't unlock the bootloader?
IF not and you are still on earlier firmware, then just unlock bootloader with Sunshine.

Hey everyone, I just grabbed a Spain variant of the Moto X. The model number is XT1058. I did unlock the bootloader. However, i didn't flash a custom recovery or root the phone yet because I have a couple questions before I go any further..
1. Since the bootloader is unlocked now, will I still receive updates from Motorola/Google or would I have to re-lock the bootloader?
2. If I do flash a custom recovery and root, what roms can i flash...T-Mobile..ATT ..International..etc?
3. I am using the phone with ATT right now...I noticed the data icon goes from H, H+ to 4G....does 4G mean I am picking up ATT LTE?
4. If i wanted to re-lock the bootloader, am I able to with the fastboot command to re-lock it?
Thanks eveyone

Relocking your boot loader will not have any benefits, your warranty is void as soon as you unlock a retail version
You absolutely will receive the ota but you need to maintain the stock rom 100% as it was out of the box, flashing twrp recovery and rooting can easily be done but you will not be able to flash the ota successfully as it checks and requires stock recovery and a unroofed device, that being said you can reflash the stock recovery and unroot and then flash the ota.
Then all you would need to do is reflash twrp and superuser

all I know the Bootloader can not re unlock when you flash stock firmware or update OTA. So you dont need to relock BL after do anything ! Keep Bootloader Unlocked will help you custome your phone easier with root and more !
A certain thread called "[LOLLIPOP WARNING]Those Who Unlocked Via Sunshine or Purchasing a Code from China" says the following:
There is an Enable OEM Unlock option that is appearing in the Developer Options of the N6 and MX14 running 5.1 and if it is not checked, you cannot unlock your bootloader. If you unlocked via Sunshine or purchased a code for your device from the Chinese code seller, we do not know what is going to happen wrt this Enable OEM Unlock option for your phone if you upgrade to 5.1.
Until we do, it is safest to not upgrade and stay unlocked until 5.1 drops and the situation becomes clearer.

There hasn't been any update on the thread since the 5.1 release for the Moto X, so if I were you I would wait... Sunshine has also a support line, so you could also send a ticket and directly ask if they can unlock your bootloader. I'm sure they have seen this case!
you had an xt1058 right ? you updated to 5.1, did your bootloader get relocked ?
It didn't, but I had a Rogers xt1058 that was BL unlocked directly by Motorola and not by Sunshine...
According to Motorola's website, at&t's Moto X cannot be BL unlocked officially, so that's probably why we cannot know what will happen if you update to 5.1.
Hey guys,
I have TWRP 2.8.7.1
And i would like to install the new 3.0.2.0
How do i update it the easiest and safest way?
I have Nexus root toolkit 2.1.6
Also a side question, how do i know if my bootloader is still unlocked?
I have a custom rom and the phone is rooted, could the bootloader lock and i need to unlock it again?
Thanks ahead!

Thanks you helped me.
I have a Mi5 running LineageOS 14.1
I flashed this ROM a few months ago without the optional root package, so (obviously) there's no root access. However there's a few apps that will not open if root was detected, and while the ROM doesn't have root, I think the apps knew the bootloader was unlocked. So I was wondering if it's possible to relock the bootloader, and then unlock it again if I need to change the ROM.
Can this be done? I flashed the ROM with TWRP; however I didn't keep TWRP as a permanent recovery so it should be running the stock recovery.

I think you shouldn't. You can't unlock bootloader if you not on miui. And one mi account can unlock bootloader only once on 30 days.
Can I root Sony X Performance, without unlocking the bootloader, like by entering Supersu into the Marshmallow firmware, I have the Marshmallow firmware link, if anyone wants to edit, please

Unfortunately, you can't flash modified firmwares without unlocking your phone bootloader.. If I'm not wrong there's no way to root Marshmallow without unlocking the bootloader.. Its only possible to root without unlocking bootloader for lollipop and lower..
