You can try to connect the phone with the pc via Hisuite. Then, you can do a factory reset.

Hi!
I've a Xperia T with XperimenT rom, vKernel, open bootloader, and so... Everything in my device was absolutely normal, but two days ago, when I shuted it down at night, I pluged the power cable, but when it began to boot the screen kept with "Sony", and nothing happened. The "charging battery" never appeared. So, I decided to have a force reset (volume up+power) and try to run without the power cable... The device kept in "Sony" and nothing happened as well. Again, force reset and enter to TWRP... I got amazed when noticed that the system partition was CLEAR. So, I restored the system partition with a previous backup, reset, and the phone worked propperly.
But here is my problem. When I reset the Xperia, it clears the system partition again, so that the only solution is restore it again. It's a loop. When shut down, recovery, restore and reset...
I've tried down to wipe batt stats to dismiss wheter it'd be a battery problem, it has not worked.
Any idea to avoid this annoying problem?
Thanks a lot!! :good:

Thank you very much for your reply! :good:
I've found a step-by-step showing how to repair the Xperia via PC Companion. I post it only if there's someone who need it.
I'm trying this when the phone reaches a full charge (due to the battery stats wipe).
There is no need to post a guide, run pccompanion and follow the instructions....
Its not hard

D'oh! I'm sorry, i've posted it just because I did not figured out how to repair it.
I've to say that finally it did work!
Thanks Greg Bradley

My phone is stock rooted, I was trying to make a back up of the stock rom in TWRP. As soon as the backup began, my phone rebooted and now it won't get past the T-Mobile screen. Anyone have any ideas?

If I had your problem the first thing I would try is to
remove the battery, wait a minute then re-insert it
then power on the phone.
If that did not fix it, I would go into twrp recovery
and click on the "Wipe" button and do a factory
reset.
Good luck!

I've removed the battery for a few minutes but that didn't help. I didn't want to, but I guess I'm going to have to factory reset.
Having this same issue

I am having this same problem and tried to do a factory reset and it is still not working. Is there any other solution you can think of I am thinking of using Odin to flash the firmware since I am able to access the screen that allows you to do so. My only concern is that I would not be able to since I have my phone locked with samsung cloud. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm almost positive that if you flash firmware with Odin it unlocks the phone protection on it. So you can do that and get back into your phone.
Thanks for The response! So i tried that, but it failed and now when i turn on mu phone it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
Hi i am wondering if i am able to factory reset while being rooted? Or will my phone brick?
I feel like my battery has been draining a ****load for some reason.. I have to charge twice a day now compare to 1 charge will last me more than a day.
I am on 5.1.1. On N910T3
From what I understand trying to factory reset on your phone will always fail via stock recovery or through settings on stock Rom. I think you need to use Samsung Smart Switch OR download the stock firmware from Sam firm (My favorite ) OR Sam-mobile. r
Yes you can factory reset while rooted. Worse case scenario is you'll have to re-root.

All the times I have tried to factory reset while on stock touchwiz firmware on my s3, note 2,3, and 4 (while they have been rooted) fail. When I would use stock recovery or the settings menu to attempt to factory reset, I would get a fail message, then the phone would shut off.
When I turned it back on, everything would still be left untouched on my phone. All my apps, files, etc would be in the same place.
So in order to perform the equivalent of a full factory reset and return to full stock firmware, I would use smart switch or download the stock file and flash via Odin.
That's just been my experience with the Samsung series.

Factory reset is merely returning the device to its out the box setup. That can be done from the settings menu.

Sup guys! For first, sorry x my english, i'm italian. Now, i've stuck into a kinda strange problem with my pra-lx1. Today i've decided to update my phone (it was the one of those "service updates", it was something around 300mb), but i was unable to do it with an unlocked bootloader, so i've used the adb console to relock it. As always, i've seen the emui factory reset screen , but now it's stuck on 99%. Then i've tried to reboot the phone, several times - nothing changes. I've tried to go into the fastboot mode, but it simply won't work, the combination of pwr button and -vol button have no effect, the phone's always going into emui factory reset mode. Aaaaand, here it is, i literally can't do anything. Pls help me xD
*As a detail, today i've used to update magisk (not the app, i mean.... U know, the package that you need to flash, idk if it has something to do with this problem....). I've already tried to discharge the phone at 0%, tried different cables, tried to first pushing ONLY the -vol button and then connecting it to the pc - same story T_T The only thing that i haven't tried it to leave the phone at factory reset screen.
Thank you!!
P.s. i'm a noob in speaking/writing in english, but i understand it pretty well, so don't worry (if someone ever will check this post )

Hi I hope you all will be fine.
Model# N960U1
Yesterday I updated to andriod pie. After updating I got all new look nd software but one thing note that the mid section of my screen didn't respond to touch. Along with that some times screen freez nd after ten seconds it come back to life. I have tried wipe cache and safe mode start but nothing help. I tried another method like backup data nd factory reset after that phone start working normal but after twelve hour phone of use and encounter the same issue now u can't do that every time to reset. Please advise a solution..
Does it happen if you boot in safe mode? If not there might be some app conflicting. If it is still occurring in safe mode then try factory reset but no data restore. If the issue comes back contact Samsung for repair.

Have you tried backing up only your messages, files and photos without the apps and system settings then factory reset? Do that and redownload all of your apps fresh from the playstore then redo all of your system settings all over again. That could help a lot.
