WiFi Issues with Android version > 2.3.3

Hey everyone,
I'm having some issues with any ROM using android 2.3.4 or 2.3.5
so far I've tested it with CyanogenMod7 and MIUI 1.8.18 & 1.8.19
The issue is that, regardless of my settings, my phone is being a stubborn ***** and decides to kill my wifi-connection whenever I lock my screen. I don't get any notifications for email or whatsapp whatsoever until I wake my phone. Getting called and textmessages do still function normally.
(If it is of any help, the radio version I use is in my signature.)
Wifi sleeping policy is set to never,
Regulatory domain (wtf is that?) set to 13 channels. (Default.)
Backround sync & Auto sync are turned on.
--
I have fixed the problem with my wifi dying when my screen locks,
I have tested this by playing songs over the network with my phone sleeping (Didn't use to work, now it does.)
However, I have encountered a new issue. My WhatsApp Messenger doesn't seem to connect at all!
Won't send any messages, won't update groups etc.
I have tried re-installing it several times.
Any ideas?
did you try full wipe, or connect to other wifi access point?
I'm trying a full wipe and reflash now, thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to another wifi access point so I can't try that.

Done reflashing after a full wipe -- It seems to have fixed my problem!
Thanks for the help.

New issue, I'll explain in top post.

[Q] Help?! Unrooted Nexus One 2.3.6 - user data wiped out

Level 1
6:54 PM
- Summary: N1, 2.3.6, when not in use shut down with no apparent reason. when turned on showed the "Welcome To Nexus One" initialization screen.
- Background Details:
A 2/2010 (unlocked, used on T-Mobile) N1, that was updated regularly, and worked on 2 wireless networks. about 3 weeks ago was updated OTA from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6.
Was experiencing lately (after last upgrade) occasional drops of WiFi connection. Also experienced faster battery drainage, including (rarely) a fast going to OFF, even without time to orderly shut off.
- Detailed Description:
Today it was on, fully charged, received a call and it worked fine. Saw about an hour later it went off. I thought this is due to the fast battery drainage I experienced lately.... I connected it to a charger - but saw battery almost full. Seems it has got through a hard reset - or rest to factory settings. It shows the "Welcome to nexus one" screen (touch the android to begin).
(At this point I've tried no further yet - waiting for your responses)
** It may be that the power to my wirless router was disconnected several times at the time of the Nexus One crash. I use secure connection to my WiFi, but also have cellular data connection.
** Additional info: Has 3 google accounts on this phone.
** The backup / restore option was ON sometime in the past, and almost sure it was lately OFF.
- At this point I've tried the following - none helped:
- recharging the battery to Full and restart
- change SIM to another operator (worked in the last 2 weeks, after the 2.3.6 update, on both networks, both in roaming and home networks)
- The device has the stock ROM, bought unlocked directly from Google, usually operated on T-Mobile USA, and was never rooted.
Cannot see the device version from settings(since cannot see the settings screen), but see the following when in the HBOOT screen:
HBOOT-0.35.0017
MICROP-0b15
RADIO-5.08.00.04
Oct 12 2010
- My questions:
1. Is there a way to restore my user settings?
2. Can I try the RECOVERY option to retrieve an older OS version, and would it retain my user data?
3. What is the procedure to recover the latest google stored data for my account?
4. Is this a known problem?
Thank you

Weird time problem

I recently got my Gear 1 and directly started installing TWRP and Null_23, which went without problems.
I only have a weird, but mostly annoying problem which I can't figure out :
I have 2 smartphones : 1 Galaxy S4 (private phone) and 1 Galaxy S3 (business phone).
On both I've installed Gear Manager and I can connect without problems (both are same versions by the way : 1.7.052101).
I can switch perfectly between the phones, to receive eighter notifications from my private phone or from my business phone.
However when I connect to my private phone, the time is set to 12 hour format which I can manually change to 24 hour format.
When I connect to my business phone, the time is directly set to 24 hour format.
Connecting back to my private phone will set the time back on Gear 1 to 12 hour format.
Ofcourse I've checked time and timezone settings on both my phones, so I'm clueless now.
Does anyone know where the Gear 1 gets its time settings from ?
Or know a solution ?

pokemon go-tcha or Go+

Anyone else having a problem where a previously working pokemon go+ or go-tcha now fails to connect? I've tried hard reset, unpairing and repairing, closing the app, reinstalling, nothing works. Running g935f on android 7.0
Got them 3 months ago worked amazing, some updates later it really was hard to connect but still worked and now NOTHING. works with my gf's phone however...
Hi there, did you manage to find a workaround yet?
Fixed!
Application manager - > show system (from options) - > Bluetooth - > storage - > clear storage. You'll need to turn your Bluetooth radio back on or do a device reset, but it worked for me!
It's an app related issue. Both iOS and android users have been having close to if not the exact same problem.

Upgrade from XZ2 P to xperia 1 ii wifi passwords

OK so I recently aquired a 1 ii and it was mostly painless doing the transfer of data etc except for my wifi SSD's and passwords which turned out to be almost impossible without root, I tried every sort of transfer I could do but wifi passwords were not copied to the new phone - I have about 80 save wifi connections - I did find a solution but is was less than satisfactory - I do not know why both goole and Sony have made this impossible unless you do it manually, so here is what I had to do
On the XZ2 P I opened up the wifi in settings and discovered something I did not k now about before
When you look at a saved SSID if shows the properties of that connection but what it also shows is the password (only ever seen on rooted phone), the is a share option that when opened shows a VR code and the SSID password is shown below it.
So what I did was go through all saved SSID's on the XZ2 P and manually enter them on the xperia 1 ii - yes tedious I know and it took me about 1hr30mins but it was a solution and worked really well - I had an external keyboard connected to the 1 II to make it a lot easier
so I hope this helps anyone that is faced with this issue
regards

I have had google backup enabled on my XZ2P for months - it would not restore ssid's to my new phone, it copied over most of the other stuff, there seems to be some sort of compatability issue between these phones - documents say anything prior to xperia 1 will have issues like this - I tried everything - in fact I spent hours looking and looking for a solution then when I did it took me 1hr30 to do it manually.
If you look at the google backup menu on a recent xperia it does not list the backup contents and certainly not wifi ssid's
This is why I posted this here - I have never come across this problem before - everything always worked
Try to use the sony transfer 2 app.

tried that, like I said above there seems to be functional differences in the devices that prevents direct transfer of data, it specifically mentions from xperia 1 or later, PC Companion is the same
believe me I tried everything
I`ve used it to move from the Xperia X performance.
And also the standard google backup/restore.
Do you install the transfer 2 to your old phone?

not wanting to repeat myself - I tried """"every""""" option and yes to your last question - """"""it did not work """"""""
