I've had an AT&T LG G4 (H810) since introduction last year.
I've got a number of Qi charging "pucks" and back covers modified with Qi stickers,
and all have been working well - up until now.
A few weeks ago my phone developed the dreaded boot-loop issue - 3 weeks outside of the 1-year warranty.
I chose to have the phone replaced using the AT&T insurance I've been paying for (w/ a $99 deductible).
I received the NEW replacement last week and it has a June 2016 build date (SN:606....)
The replacement phone no longer will charge with ANY of my battery covers and/or charging pucks.
I bought a Duracell Powermat charger to see if that would work (with the Qi stickes/covers) - but NO!!
Assuming this new phone is NOT defective - it would seem that the design of AT&T variant of the G4 has been modified to reject the Qi charging.
The only "official" PMA cover available seems to be from AT&T:
A PURPLE Quickcircle case. For $60 (ouch)
I've been unable to find any PMA stickers (or rear covers) on Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress.... anywhere !
Does anyone have any experience with Qi charging on a RECENTLY BUILT AT&T G4 ???
OR... anyone know of a source for PMA stickers or covers for the G4???
Thanks for the help!
I have a similar situation. I had an early G4 (S/N: 508 and I used a Qi circle cover with various Qi chargers and it worked great. Last week, my phone developed the boot loop issue (luckily within warranty). AT&T shipped me a refurb unit (S/N: 505K and Qi does not work on my chargers, but in the store they had a dual Qi/PMA Belkin charger and it worked.) I told them wireless charging didn't work (I did the Belkin test after this) and they send me a 2nd refurb unit with the same behavior. (S/N: 505K as well). Qi does work on that one either.
I did do a bit of a teardown on both my old (previous working) and 2nd refurb and they both still have the
Blue chip - IDT P9025A Qi Wireless Power Receiver IC identified on the ifixit tear down. https: // d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/YdWD2sSRT6Xmbif6
So, I am seriously bummed.

Ditto here!
I have a third-party Circle Case bought for my (boot-looping and now returned G4 H815 -- UK unlocked model straight from LG). When I got the AT&T H810 replacement and tried the Circle Case with it, Qi wireless charging did work with my existing puck, but no sooner did the pending AT&T firmware update get installed, out the window when Qi wireless charging. Since neither the case, puck, battery or phone geometry change, I have to assume they managed to disable Qi in software. I keep trying my phone on every Qi pad I spy on somebody's desk at work or elsewhere, but I haven't found one that magically breaks the spell. Oh, well.

Since I need to preserve my unlimited data from Verizon, and cannot accept a subsidized phone, I decided to at least add wireless charging to the Revolution. I know this is nothing new, but I thought I would share what I have learned so far. I have two Revolutions (one for me, one for wife), so I bought two battery doors that are required for wireless QI charging. I got them on Amazon for $14.99 each:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009R0ODHA/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
Also needed is a QI charging pad. I bought two of the ones that LG made for this and a couple of other phones (costly at $40 each, but they will work with future QI enabled devices as well):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DMBSVA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
I like to have chargers available around the house and rear porch, so I am also going to experiment with these chargers as well, and will report back how they work; they are only $20 each and are dual chargers:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003F0RQ0O/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
The charging through the LG charging pad works great. There were complaints in the reviews at Amazon about beeping from the LG charger, but after 3 nights with two of them running, I haven't heard any noises that have woken either of us. We just set the phones on the charger, the base indicates charging has begun and the screen displays that wireless charging has initiated with a big battery status bar.
This QI charging is a feature I will look at closely when the time comes to select new phones. As it stands, I have 4G, HDMI, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, big screen and don't use the phone often for heavy gaming. To prevent the need for Verizon's subsidy on a new device (equaling loss of unlimited data), I will just wear these out for another year or so (maybe even longer). I have an ASUS tablet for the heavy stuff anyhow.
Is the wireless back much different than the regular back cover depthwise?

It adds depth, the phone becomes thicker. It is supposed to be 1.5mm deeper, but I think a little more.
Just browsing the classifieds and I stumbled across this. He is asking $85 per unit, which includes the charging pad. Rip off? Apparently its Qi Charging standard as well. Passed a few emails back and forth and he seems legit. Just wanted to ask here before I spend the money. Pictures attached as well.
Here's his add:
Why trust your expensive phone with those hack-job kits sold on eBay using outdated Palm technology, this kit is 100% compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S3 and does not require any additional software or setup.
The charging pad will charge the phone up to 100% and maintain the charge until you remove the phone.
The Qi standard has been chosen as the official standard going forward as seen in the Nexus 4 phone.
All Samsung Galaxy S3 phones come with the dedicated wireless charging connector from the factory as shown in the photos.
The only piece left is this charging kit.
< How does it install? Easy! >
Simply remove the battery cover off the phone, line up the receiver tag with the phone's charging connector and stick it on. Snap the battery cover on. It's that easy!
All you have left now is to plug the DC adapter into the charging pad and use any 120v wall outlet.
You will see a green light turn on, indicating the charging pad is on.
For those who purchase these kits, I can install the tag and demonstrate how the charging works.
Cases do not interefere with this unless they are made of metal in which case no wireless charging kit let alone NFC will work.
This kit does not interefere with NFC (Near field communication)
< How does it charge? >
Simply place your phone on the charging pad, an audible beep will sound and a flashing blue light indicating wireless charging has started.
Your phone will then display a message "You have placed the device within range. Now charging wirelessly..."
Package Includes:
1x Samsung Galaxy S3 sticker tag (Receiver)
1x Wireless Charging Pad (Transmitter)
1x US Socket DC Adapter for charging pad
I also have the Note 2 Charging Kit if anyone is interested

btw, i used to sell those qi kits as well.
however, there were some bad reviews (of course there were good ones too) from my buyers that the sets started failing after 1-2 weeks of usage which reflects the rubbish QC of QI products by yijieng.
just a word of advice on those who might wanna grab the kits off ebay and I am not trying to kill the business or whatsoever, its just some reviews i've gotten from my customers about the products.

This isn't a eBay kit though. This is the type of kit that is prone to fail?

OP, you say "not eBay" but the receiver has "made in China" on it. So it's no different than any of the one's on eBay except you're buying it via e-mail directly from someone who imported it.
Here's the one that people said they had issues with (off of eBay). To me, it looks cheaply made; especially the receiver.
Here's one that just became available that's disussed in the thread linked below. It's $60 shipped from HK. It looks more substantial and is made by "Metrans" which is considered high-end locally in China. A couple of us ordered them. Mine's shipped and should be here early next week and I'll post pics and a review.

Definitely confirm its not the one pictured on top. I have 2 of those. The first quit working after the a few days and the second (which ordered before the first one broke) is already having troubles.
I just bought the inductive charging cover for the Droid 4 and a Nokia DT-900 charging pad. I'm loving the reality of wireless charging so far. No more searching for a charging code that's fallen on the floor when going to bed. The DT-900 is a nice charging pad and appears to charge the phone quickly. I like the fact that the plate doesn't make any noise when I place the phone down on it. My only complaint is that the phone has to be placed fairly low on the pad to properly charge. If I center the phone on the charger, it appears to charge for a few minutes, but then gives me a flashing light to indicate improper charging. This wouldn't be as big of a deal if the error was more immediate. Has any one tried any of the other charging pads out there such as the LG WCP-300 to see if there are better alternatives out there?
I am using a Ghost-100 by Insipio that i bought because my usb port broke and i haven't had time to take it apart and resolder it. It seems to work just fine for me plus it really wasn't that expensive even buying it from Verizon. I have only had it for a few days however so we will see.

I live in Hungary, too. It's not impossible, you have to check eBay quite often, as there are very few wireless charging covers are up for sale. Last one was listed about a week ago. The main problem is that it's quite expensive for us with shipping (you won't be able to buy it under 50-60 USD - 10-15000 HUF).
What other accessories you want to buy? Send me a PM, maybe I can point you in the right direction.

I live in Canada, and had small issues finding the charging pad that works as well as the battery cover that works with the charging pad.
I took the recommendations from the Verizon website and bought the Verizon/Motorola wireless charging cover, and the LG wireless charging pad.
I bought both from https://www.fusionelectronix.com/
They are located in the USA, and i called the phone number before I ordered. They answer their phones. and The person I spoke with was extremely friendly and gave me a custom deal on shipping. I had my items within 2 days and everything was perfect.

I recently have been running through USB cables and got tired of not being able to count on a steady charge overnight. So I decided to purchase the inductive charging cover from Verizon's website and a PowerBot PB1020 off of Amazon. It works great and was only around $20.

As I am guessing you've long since replaced your Droid 4, would you be willing to part with the charging cover? I am searching high and low but can't find one for sale.

I'm new to the wireless charging world. I recently purchased a Nexus 6 (migrated from a 2013 moto x), and decided to purchase an Anker PowerPort Qi Wireless Charger to try wireless charging.
From what I've read, the sweet spot is bottom 1/2-1/3 of the device, near the "u" in nexus on the back. However, I can't get the device to be detected by the charger. Is there any setting that needs to be enabled or any special trick to make this work?
No, wireless charging should work out of the box. I'm having similar problem here, luckily there are 2 nexus 6 in the house. One is working flawless on my Ikea wireless charging point, one (unfortunately mine.....) Is not doing anything, no matter how i place it or how long i let it there.
I've contacted my reseller, have to send it in for repair....
It the saying its too good to be true...it is...I bought one of theses Chargers for $20.59. it works and charges but then when it came time to the fan...I opened it and there was no fan inside...I went back to look at the box and the serial number was different on the Box and the unit..
I emailed the Seller and told her what Happened...I Immediately received a Refund and told to Keep the Charger...
Buyer Beware in XDA Land

Half price chargers being sold from China. Go figure. Maybe it's because I grew up jaded in NYC, but if I see something like this, it SCREAMS counterfeit.
Thanks for the head up
I have no idea why someone would risk spending $30 on this product.
Amazon sells the Samsung Fast Wireless Charger for $49.99 which includes the fast charge power adapter (the Ebay version does not).
Of course its fake lol, mostly anything off ebay that comes from China is a knockoff.
The Q? - does it charge faster than normal wireless charger?
