Figured I would post about my issue. I just bought a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. I tried connecting my Galaxy Note 2 to it using the USB cable provided with my phone. Once I run the App, the screen of the car shows nothing but fuzzy white snow (like the old analog TVs showed when there was no reception from the antenna), and then the snow pauses after a second. If I touch the car's screen, it reacts to my input by the snow moving again until I stop touching it.
I was first trying to connect with a CM12 Tesla build (Lollipop). I then flashed my phone with Resurrection Remix 5.6.4 (Marshmallow) and got the same thing. I've tried many tricks I've read from others who had blank screens (not snow, haven't seen anyone report that). I've also played with the Developer options, debug, HDCP and nothing made a difference. I did read that the phone has to be on MTP, but every time I plug it in it switches to USB Charge. If I select MTP after being connected, the screen on my phone refreshes itself (goes totally black for a half second) and goes back to USB charge and the car's stereo goes back to the home screen.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get it to work? Or do I need a new phone?
Same here, have you found any solutions?

Hello all,
I have strange problems while charging (wall charging only) my NOOKcolor: the touch screen is not responsive (either at all or very sluggish). On home screen I could launch programs, but not rearrange (drag), have to type very slow in order to get input, on lock screen cannot even unlock
If disconnecting the charger (from wall or cable from nook) it starts to work perfect.
My NOOKcolor is fully rooted, but the problem remains after un-root/factory rest.
Anyone else seen this behavior?
Any solution/suggestion?
Thanks,
Darky
Your problem is not unique and has been noted by many others. No fix was discussed yet though.
Mine doesn't do it. I saw on google it's one of the possible problems with a new unit. You might want to reflash to stock and exchange it.
I've noticed mine does it while playing Pocket Legends. If I have it on the charger, it will automatically tap-click on the screen when I'm using the joystick, so it starts to open all sorts of menus. So I pretty much can't play the game when charging.
I apologize if I this is in wrong section...I'm new here.
I have a N7000 that had a broken screen.I bought a new screen (whole assembly:screen, frame, pen sensor)....When phone is turned on menu and back buttons light up,and judging by the sounds phone boots up.Battery can be charged normally (phone heats up normally),PC see's it as mass storage device (can't connect to Kies, but I see it's a common issue),I can browse through phones folders on PC etc....problem is that I still don't have any picture on screen, nothing happens (black screen)....buttons work, screen reacts to touch (buttons light up when screen is touched)....but no image.
Also, when I disassembled the phone,I saw that some bright guy (previous owner?) had pulled (broken) flat cable from the main camera....so camera is disconnected.
What could be causing this screen issue?Could it be that I got a faulty screen (considering my luck lately,I wouldn't be surprised)? If it is a motherboard issue, would the phone work at all?
Good morning!
So I have a AVH-4100NEX and a Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge plus. Android auto worked perfectly at first, I updated the head unit to firmware 1.03 and it still worked fine but suddenly last night the screen on the deck kept turning off as soon as my phone screen shut off. Music keeps playing but no video. If I tap my phone screen to wake it up then it comes back until the phone screen turns off again. Both android auto and car mode say connected in the phone drop down bar, and it's fully functional - I can even press buttons on the Hu screen with it off and commands will work if I bump the right one. I don't see any settings and I can't think of anything that would cause this - any suggestions? Both my phone and the deck are on the newest version of the software available.
Thanks!
Cody
Sounds like a hardware failure that happens when it heats up.
I don't recall any similar reports.
Thanks for the reply! I reset my phone finally and it's working again, however if it comes back I'll try to see if the phone is warmer than usual.
Thanks -
Cody
I'm having all sorts of problems with my head unit
Firstly, if I connect the speakers up then I get a high pitched tone through the speakers at all times. Bizarrely if I connect the white and grey cables together on the car side (ie not the head unit side) then everything seems to work. But that makes no sense.
Secondly, the buttons along the left hand side do nothing. I've been into the factory setting and tried to "retrain" it. Although I can see it reacting to the retraining nothing happens after I've finished, the buttons still don't work
Thirdly, the ACC mode does not seem to work. I've monitored with a multimeter and it doesn't matter whether there is a voltage on the ACC or not the unit turns on when there is power on the yellow cable and turns off when I disconnect that cable. I can connect this cable directly to the ignition feed but then it gets no chance to shut down when I turn off the ignition.
Fourthly, and this may not help the above. If I select shut down from the menu on the device it does nothing.
As it is this unit is pretty much useless. Whats going on? Are the cables badly labelled perhaps?
What did the reseller suggest?
Apparently they won't be back till the 4th
Hmm .. so I took it out and plugged it back in on my lap, rather than in the radio hole ... and it worked perfectly. A few oddities (such as tune in radio not working at first) but that resolved itself almost instantly.
I can only assume I hadn't plugged the black plug on the back in correctly.
*Fingers crossed it stays this way*
I m afraid youre in the wrong forum - Joying/Joyous RK3368/PX5 head units are not MTCD/E, theyve stopped making MTCD/E units completely and they never made RK336/PX5 MTCD/E units at all.
I ll get the thread moved to the Android Headunit General forum.
1. the gray and white cables are for the front speaker. the high tones are the keypad tones. you have to deactivate it in the user menu (amp must be deactivated in factory menu). the keypad tone only comes via front speaker, not magenta and green cables for the rear speaker.
2. try reflashing the firmware?
3. red is ACC, yellow is constant battery. your device is running without connect the red ACC cable?
4. with shutdown button it ONLY shutoff the display backlight and drain further 600mA. doesnt?
read the Joying intel sofia all you need to know thread. not all is same on the PX5, but its really interesting.
PS, i have the PX5 too, but have other problems like you
Hello everyone, there is a random Unlocked Padlock icon with a color circle rotating around it (its the same padlock icon and rotating circle around it as when i restart my phone and its asking me to enter my pin number because my phone is encrypted) showing up on my TV screen while i am using the phone on DEX mode. When it shows up, its there for a couple of seconds, then it goes away and my phone's lock screen shows up in "screen mirroring" and then DEX mode starts again and the phone functions completely normally until it does it again which might not be for hours.
I have cleared system cache like 5 times. No change.
Unlocked Note 8 U950N on Verizon
Not Modified in any way, Android 8.0, Latest security patch (same issue with previous security patches)
OEM Samsung DEX Station
Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse
1080 resolution
OEM Charger
Things to consider: 1- My S pen sandomly stops working. Tried a new Spen and it still work work, no hover circle or any input from the pen. restarting the phone fixes that issue.
2- Phone will randomly show "slow charging" when first plugged in to the OEM charger and wire (have 3 different set and it does it will all of them). Unplugging it from the phone side and plugging it back in fixes it.
Please let me know what you think for all 3 issues before i contact samsung for a warranty repair/replacement.
Thank you
