I did a factory reset last night to solve one problem (which it did), but now I have another one. I get this window (see attached screenshot) when I try to assign a ringtone or notification.
How can I resolve this? I have an un rooted & stock Note 5 running 6.0.1 on TMO.
Anyone?

Am I the only one seeing that the search for update has gone from faulty, to "you already have the latest" ?
Running RomKitchen V1.6 by the way....
No I've seen this too
I'm running unrooted and saw this message after a hard reset (don't know if that what did it but I noticed it after)
Also my Next search for update has changed from nothing (can't remember what but wasn't a date) to 21/05/2011
I've been having an issue with WhatsApp and I'm wondering if everyone who uses it also has the same issue I'm experiencing. I've emailed WhatsApp on a separate issue before, and they always say that it must be MY version of the i9000 (i9000m) as they are not experiencing that issue on theirs.
So I thought I'd direct them to a thread to show them its not just the i9000m's but others as well.
So for all those who have WhatsApp installed, please test this out for me and tell me if you experience the same problem. For arguments sake please put your firmware version as well. Mine is the stock KG3 on Bell Mobility.
Issue 1
1. From a chat window (one you have with your friends), send them one of your contacts. To do this, click the paper clip at the top right and choose the far right selection (the contact card).
2. Select one of your contacts that has both a phone number and an email address.
3. A list of all the contacts for that single contact should appear... hit send.
4. Now in the chat window, a button should appear with that contacts name.
5. Click that button.
6. The list should appear again. Click the Call Mobile or whatever type of number you have.
Does your phone hang then after a little while you get the
"Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpected. Please try again?" Force close appear?
Second Issue
Using the same method above, click an email in step 6. Does your email app open with something similar to "[email protected]" in the To: appear?
----
Please let me know. I'd like to get this fixed... or if its not their issue, I'd like to fix my phone somehow.
Thanks
No one has the same issue?
After doing some of my own testing:
I had a KG3 Root Kernel installed, so I was wondering if that was causing the issue.
In order to ensure I have a complete stock KG3 (2.3.3), reinstalled JL2 via ODIN so I could upgrade to KG3 via KIES.
After installing JL2, I decided to test the problem in WhatsApp. Low and behold, the issue wasn't there. But, JL2 is froyo... so maybe its a Gingerbread problem. Or more specifically KG3.
I won't know for sure until KG3 is once again installed to its complete stock condition via KIES (Downloading now).
I'll report back. If the issue is gone, then it could be one of three things:
1. Root Kernel
2. Super User
3. Busybox.
I'll report back once I figure it out.
Well it appears to be an issue with KG3. I'm completely stock now and still have the same issue in the original post.
Can any other Gingerbread users running 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 confirm the same issue please?
Phone Condition: Very very new (Less than 48 hours)
Problem Description: The screen freezes randomly, restarts randomly, sometimes the screen freezes without restarting and can be stuck there forever
Solution tried:
(1) Wiped cache partition through stock recovery as suggested by everyone on the internet (It makes things smoother a bit but it still has the problem)
(2) Wipe everything and reset the device (Problem still persists)
(3) Flashed the latest available stock firmware with ODIN (Link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9208/XME/ --> Malaysian firmware) (Problem still persists)
(4) Used Smart Switch's Emergency Software and Recovery and Initialization (Problem still persists)
(5) Went to Samsung service center and sent in for repair, the person told me it has been fixed without providing further explanation and details (Problem still persists)
I've spent almost 10 hours troubleshooting and it's driving me crazy, someone please help me.
The whole internet with different blogs and articles only mention the wipe cache partition fix and it's useless.
Sounds like you've got a faulty device, my friend. Try bringing it back to your carrier and recreating the issue. They should replace it for you.

I've bring it back to the carrier and also Samsung today, both of them says they cannot refund me.
Samsung agreed to fix the phone if it's a software problem and if it's a hardware problem they will replace it with a new phone.
in my samsung note 5 it had a display freezing issue and tried to custom rom flash, the issue was still there. then i tried mirror the display my laptop to check it was a motherboard issue it wasnt, it worked fine. i tried to flash low power rom. its working fine
now
Hello,
My brain is collapsing about this reboots, I have stock android 6.0 on my XT092 device.
Wipe cache + reset doesn't resolve anything. Wipe backup data and unmark auto-restore apps on google auto-backup. After wipe cache/reset I put on this device "configure as a new phone" , then I unmark auto-restore on settings then I install my apps (whatsapp dropbox, cant install more without problem solved..), what I can do more or what im doing wrong?
Thank you all :good:

Mental note, this reboots only happens when i'm not touching in the phone (standby). If I'm using it or charge he never reboots! I can't leave this phone awake during night
Hello guys
I have stock android 6.0 [24.11.18.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.Eu retfr] on my Motorola Moto X 2014 [XT1092] after OTA update to android 6.0 I have always random reboot's on it. I search for all internet about a possible fix and I think I tried almost everything but I have hope can solve this problem.. Put on Moto X 2014 forum too but is a old device without much visibility!
I have try to hard resed and wipe caches (don't know how many times I did it, probably 100 with various configurations). Last time I do it I just reset/wipe and initiate the phone without sim-card and internet (always skip) after that I put the sim-card without 4G and WiFi and didn't install or update any type off app (Google's backup is disable and I clean everything I could about old's data) and the phone always reboots (think we never could stay 24h on without a single reboot, this is so frustrating).
Hardware phone problem? System operating problem (is stock and didn't see nobody like me)?
Any one have suggestions what I could do more or someone have this problem with your stock device?
Thank you for the time dispend reading this :good:

Stop spamming the forums, already answered you in one of your other posts.

I had about the same problem (happened maybe 5 times) on my xt1096 while I had 5.1 verizon stock.
Since I installed the stock xt1095 6.0 marshmallow (about a month), I didn't have that problem again.
Maybe you should try that too? Just a suggestion.

Sorry, I collect the log but I have my data on it.. I will colect it with full reset/wipe and any update!
I search about all forums I could but didn't find anyone with same error, I copy the text about 3 or 4 topics to have more visibility because this phone is making old (but I love it)..

When I bought this phone (2 months ago) he have 4.4.4, I think he update to 5.0 or 5.0.1 and after that updated to 5.1 (he stays about 2 weeks in 5.1) after that he receive 6.0 (problem apears)..
I think I couldn't downgrade the 6.0 to 5.1 (without touch on root's etc etc) right? Could I reinstall 6.0 in boot menu with all stock and no-rooted?

You have to have root and unlock bootloader to change roms as far as I know.
I too am experiencing this issue since day one with a XT1092. It happend across several ROMs, including stock. Like previously stated, it happens only when the phone is not connected to a charger and in standby, seemingly randomly.
I suspect the radio to be the issue, since it is the same regardless what ROM one uses. Maybe certain frequencies (I am constantly connected to LTE; mostly Band 20, 800 MHz) or something similar could be the cause. That would explain why it is such a rare issue and so hard to reproduce. Or maybe it is simply a hardware malfunction, I guess I'll never know.
Edit: Got a soft reboot without a SIM card in the phone. Usually it's a hard reboot, but this time it was "only" a quick soft reboot.
Hello Everyone...
Posting here first rather than in the "Update Failure" thread because I'm not so sure I have a "failure" with the update....just an issue after the udpate.
I have 2 cloned HTC M9 phones. I say "cloned" as they are exactly the same make, model, ROM, etc (one business, one personal phone). They have the following information if needed:
Sprint HTC M9
SuperSU Free v2.65
Custom ROM ViperOneM9 3.5.0 with no custom kernal
Android 5.1
HTC Sense 7.0
Kernal (standard) 3.10.49-perf-g26c593c

SMP PREEMPT
I updated some apps this as I normally do through Google Play. A little while afterward I was prompted to update the SU Binary. I did so on one of my phones. I hit the TWRP option (on the right side of the prompt screen), nothing happened, phone did not reset so I rebooted into recovery. The update ran automatically and the phone rebooted.
I noticed two issues (perhaps there are more). The huge problem is that I cannot make OUTGOING calls. I use a custom dialer PixelPhone Pro. I click on a contact to dial and nothing happens. I type in number to dial, hit the green "send" button to make the call, nothing happens.
I also tried the stock Phone app....same thing, cannot dial out.
I attempted to update the Profile and PRL for the phone, however, as that appears to need to make a "special call" that function is not working either
The other problem I noticed is with an app I have called Quick Settings. The app is always accessible through the pull-down notifications on the phone. Although the app is still installed and functional, it no longer appears in the pull-down notifications. I tried to reset the option to show it there (turning the option off and back on) and it will not show up despite the proper setting chosen.
I still have full root access as I tried a couple root apps (such as Titanium Pro) and have full root access.
I have been prompted on my other phone to update the SU Binary and I am concerned with doing so. Any idea why this is happening and how I can troubleshoot and fit my outgoing call issue??
THANK YOU all very much!!
Scott
Hey guys....
Anyone else have this issue or similar?? So what are my options....how do I get my phone back to being able to make calls??

**UPDATE**
Still problems....
Right after I first updated the binary the "only" problem was that I could not make calls which I could use the other functions of the phone. I rebooted the phone and I cannot reach any function of the phone because I constantly get the message "...the process com.android.phone has stopped" obviously related to the previous problems.
I dirty-flashed the ROM...that did no help. I even tried to flash an older SuperSU version (I don't know what that would have done....I'm running on HOPE now ) and that didn't help. Re-dirty-flashed the ROM a second time. Again that didn't help.
I flashed an old backup and THAT WORKED fine. Problem is that the backup is 6 months old. I could quit and totally clean/wipe/install the ROM and start again from scratch but I reeeeeeallly don't have time for that at the moment.
Is there ANY way I can simply get my com.android.phone process back?? Why did all this happen in the first place??
ANY help is greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU!!!
