Hi!
I'll soon get the fantastic Casio G-Shock with Bluetooth 4.0 link function - which normally works with iOS and Android OS. As i also have a Nokia Lumia 920 additional to my iPhone I'd like to use it with this new gadget. Is there any possibility to convert the existing Android App into a working WP8 App? Any solutions out there?
best regards,
Oliver
Nope, no chance. Thank Microsoft for the restriction.
I'm a GShock fan btw. Tough Solar with auto illuminator, black on black my favorite watch.

Was that a serious question? It couldn't be, it can't be. Seriously?
They don't allow it.

How do they not allow it? Bluetooth APIs are open, heck, you can even open bluetooth sockets and transmit raw data over them (unlike NFC, which is limited to NDEF formats). It's up to Casio to make the app. If Casio decides WP is not a big enough market, fair enough. They could release the protocols the watch are using, and developers can make an app for them.

Smh. You obviously know how to use the internet, clearly you do because you're on this board.
How about searching the internet for the kind of access Casio needs. Its more than a simple app that is needed.
Apple just added the functionality IOS 5 & 6.

Wow that's amazing! Bluetooth 4.0.
You're still missing the required SPP and MAP profiles.
Try researching and understanding next time.

Now that the backers are getting there smart watches I was thinking there should be a thread were to get apps and the sdk available to other users.
I would love to see KIK Messenger working and more clock faces to choose from.
+1 for more watch faces.
Would it be possible to create an app that used a bluetooth headset as well to enable voice control w/ Google Now?
I can't read Hebrew the font used is not unicode. Does anybody have any idea how to change it?

It is not possible to read any other alphabet other than the latin for now (I have the same problem with greek). I saw an app today made by a chinese or korean user (not sure) that pushed a translated message to the watch. Of course it used some data trafic to translate it via internet but it is a very good idea. I was wondering if there could be an app that automatically changed the greek characters to latin ones, the way they appear on a computer keyboard and then push the text/e-mail to the watch. Sadly, I have no idea of programming. If anyone knows how to do it, please do!

How's the shipping situation on these looking? Like if I order one today what's the ETA?
The kickstarter backer watches didn't arrive in germany yet.
New orders will likely take some time
Hope it will get to the Netherlands soon....

Mine is finally here. Amazing! I also have the Sony smartwatch. The Pebble is much better and easier to use. Pebble Notifier for Android is amazingly easy to use and all my wanted notification come to the watch now including Whatsapp and Chess Player.
Also loving the music remote function of the watch. Once selected it remains onscreen so changing a track can be done without looking at the watch.
I hope for the SDK more watch faces. I would like one with time, date and the current weather. I do hope that the coming apps for the watch works as the music remote app. I don't prefer a notificationcentre or something like that. The watch should remain simple.
i like this !!

Glance is nice but I prefer the Pebbler app on my android and the 91 Weather watch face. Great weather and info on the watch and seems to stay connected better than glance for me.
They sent me a free Pebble to play with. They have Plenty of Watchfaces at Pebble's Forums, you could check them out. +1 To the idea of having a thread seperate for all the Watchapps and Watchfaces.
Edit:
1- https://notesforpebble.com/ - This is a Notes App. You can Password protect all the notes. However, To save more than one note, you will need to buy it. A Nice App to Check out.
2- Google 'Keep for Pebble'. It needs a rooted Android, and it syncs All your google keep notes to your watch. An option if you don't want to pay for the one above but this one needs active bluetooth connection to view the notes while the first one does not require any bluetooth connection after installing.
And the Third and Final App(A Game Actually)- Koishiban! (Sukoban For Pebble). Check it out here (Still in Beta Stage so you will have to sugn up for testing on google+ which is free- http://forums.getpebble.com/discussion/6973/watch-app-android-beta-koishiban-sokoban-for-pebble-looking-for-beta-testers
Canvas is my favorite app, easy and powerful way to make custom watch faces. Right now my pebble displays the weather conditions & temperature with a dynamic icon as long as an animated row of missed calls, sms, & emails plus the battery percentage of my phone. oh yeah and the date&time
Canvas makes it super easy to do this.

Yes. But you need to make an app for that. The IR app can record the database but there's no UI to use it.
As the Siv also got IR-blaster I'd think quite a few IR-apps should pop-up pretty soon.

I hope so. Can't believe it's taken this long to bring IR back to hand held devices.
The remote app can learn. Add a new remote, teach it the AC remote codes and see what happens?
Pretty sure this year will see a whole bunch of competing IR blaster apps being released.

There's lots of fun to be had in airports, railway stations, even the cinema.
Anywhere there are banks of LCD displays, especially if they have crucial information on them.

Going back about 20 years, I had a Casio remote control watch. At the time this was a very new and novel concept. A couple of fun stories
1) I was in a shopping mall. There was a TV in the window. I was with my friend and I told him loudly "With my mind I am going to switch off this TV. Focus ....focus....". Then without being obvious, I pressed the button to switch off the TV. A woman was watching me and was so freaked out she went running away down the mall.
2) A hi-fi store had a big 50" (this was very big 20 years ago) front projection TV. They were playing the Lion King cartoon. It was about 11pm at night. I turned the sound up to max, and still couldn't hear much so I thought, oh well, nevermind. Walked about 20 seconds and then suddenly heard a loud lion "roooooaaaarrrr" coming from the shop. Needless to say, I just left it like that
The HTC One media app can learn new IR controls. You select device not in list, and then proceed to point your existing remote at the phone and tell it what each button you press does, and it learns them and can then push those controls out. I'm using it to control my Air Conditioning, TV, Satellite box, and even my projector at work, none of which are known devices, it had to learn them all. It's very clever and extremely easy to set up.

I managed to manually sync my school projector remotes. It's so amazing, but still the air con doesn't work.. :l
I'm getting the same too. Doesn't work for the temperature control either. I think this has to do with the fact that the remote transmits more than a simple "ON" command. It transmits the parameters like fan and temperature.
LED Strip?
Hey guys,
Did someone manage it to configurate the remote of a LED Light like this : http://www.amazon.de/LED-Streifen-C...etzteil/dp/B00795UGVM/ref=tag_stp_s2_edpp_url

Try this App. I have nearly the same stripe, i've teached the Power-Button and it works. Will upload the other keys in the next hew hours. Of course it is a bit tricky, because you can't enter a name for the key, and there are just a few predifined ones which are logical. But "power" should be clear, and the rest is try&error.
You can find my commands at:
vendor: "in-akustik LED"
model: "A-Art LED RGB"
type: "Air Conditioning"
Maybe they will work for you.

Right, the note 2 has 4.0 so was seeing if anyone has tried
I believe it needs the latest stack of BT4.0 + BLE (low energy) in order to work. At least that was my understanding. So we should wait for 4.3 update toward the end of the year (for N2) in order to make it happen, along with Gear compatibility.
Btw, there is a thread about it in General Accessory section of XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572175 - probably start with last pages since that topic started a year ago.
I thought bt4 was low energy anyway, is BLE and even lower energy tech?
There are a few androids with bt4 now but only the s4 is listed
My pebble doesn't seem to impact my phone battery life at all and the watch itself can go up to a week between charges.

Apparently an early "release" of BT4.0 wasn't low power. That is why there is a difference between BT4.0 and BT4.0+BLE. The protocol is different.
Isnt it 400
Too expensive

CASIO G-Shock with support for all phones
Hello everybody,
I'm the founder of the Android Application called "BlueWatcher". BlueWatcher is the alternative to G-Shock+ Android app to control CASIO Bluetooth watches. A lot of users missed functionality in the official app and I decided to release my own app including the functionality that users proposed me. It's evolving quickly!! Now it supports all kind of notifications (facebook, whatsapp, line... all installed apps), time synchronization, musico control...
You can visit http://www.bluewatcher.es to discover more about BlueWatcher and what BlueWatcher can do for you.
It has been tested my many users in the XDA Developers forum and now it has more than a hundred downloads (~4.70 punctuation at Play Store).
I'm here to help you ([email protected]). Feedback is welcome!
See you and hope you enjoy it!
G Shock+ app works with Note II TESTED
OK, so there's a trick involved.
I had gotten bored with the OS on the phone. So, I installed DN4. Ditto Note 4. (Search the forum for it).
And only after purchasing the G Shock GBA 400 which is the music controlling watch, had I done the research for compatibility. (Stupid me :silly
Anyway, so I was considering to buy the BlueWatcher app (Play Store) in case things don't go right.
So the watch arrived just an hour back (1 PM GMT +5:30) and I thought let's just give it a shot and Voila!!!! It worked! Everything works. The connection happens in 5 seconds. All systems and settings go.
So, here's the thing. If you are willing to let go of the boring Note II OS, then go for DN4 which is a fairly better ROM based on Touchwiz so you could use your SPen as well. And remember to install their latest build. Check their site. The team behind this is called Electron Team. They have a website too. Install the latest TWRP and load the ROM through recovery. Wipe all before use. That's how I did it, anyway.
And hey, G Shock+ and G Mix App work like charm. Hope this helps some folks, at least. I'm going to try and post this to other threads who are looking for this solution for their Note II, at least.
Doing a Google search for Samsung S Health leads me to believe that one of the features it has is tracking blood glucose levels. I can't seem to find this in the app at all. Does anyone know how to access this feature or did they take it out in the Note 4?
It does not measure or track glucose levels.

I was looking for this as well, as far as I can tell, S Health did have the option, but Samsung dropped it in a previous update. A little annoying.. I've been using a program called Glooko, which, while I can't track glucose along with the other health information, it does work very well for connecting via a USB OTG cable to a Bayer Contour NEXT usb meter to download and track levels straight from the meter with basic graphing and averaging.
It would be very nice to have this functionality in S Health to be able to track everything together.
