Galaxy Note 4 turning off at 15% charge. - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there,
I Have a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4, and the battery seems to not last as long as it did before. I have had the phone since last year May. I have tried factory resetting it, but it didn't change at all. Any suggestions?

New battery worked for me
Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk

Started happening to mine and a friend who also has the Note 4. Both of ours seem to shut off between 15 and 40%. He tried a new battery and said it didn't help and he's totally stock. I thought mine might be a result of my flashaholism.

I experience the same thing and I have 3 other anker batteries.

You have to get a new battery that hasn't been depleting on inventory shelves for a long time. Check amazon reviews for best. I purchased powerbear for a decent premium and have been extremely satisfied.

I'll second the PowerBear battery from Amazon. Little more expensive than other batteries on Amazon, but the results are great.

Has anybody tried this battery? Seems like it fits with the stock battery door.

I would imagine it would fit like stock, if it was bigger why would the maH bump be so small
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
the bump isn't really that small, its about 860mah more than stock battery...but i dont think it actually is that, I've seen 4000+ same size but it does not state that the battery has a longer discharge time compared to the stock one...so idk
If you do buy it, please post a review of it
It does state in the description that you do not need a special back cover.

There was a huge debate about batteries and stock covers with the EVO 3D and i remember that there were many 2500 mah batteries that only said that on the sticker and were actually around 1400 mah batteries. you have to pull the sticker off to see what the actual rating is or do some sort of test. If this is a true stock sized 800 mah boost batterie I would buy one right away! if someone can find out that would be awesome and if its a piece of crap let us all know too.
+1; 4k mah with stock door would be wonderful..
Hi I received the 4200mah gold battery with charger of eBay this morning. I can confirm it's the same size as the original but will have to let you know later how it compares to the original (after a full use and charge cycle)

Would you mind peeling the sticker back on the gold battery? Here is a picture from an Iphone 3gs battery and notice when peeled back it is really a 4.51wh not 5.25..

lol peeled off the cover like you asked and sure enough it has 3100mah printed on it. I Can't really complain as it was a cheaper than a stock battery and got a free spare charger too
Never buy a gold battery thinking it's what it is. The only problem is that you are risking putting a battery that was labeled wrong in a very expensive unit. Just charge the battery outside of the phone so there isn't a risk of damaging anything.

I received my Acesoft 3960 Extended Battery for my Galaxy Note 2 on this Thursday from Amazon. It shipped pretty fast from Cali and looks and feels pretty solid. I comes with no charge so I charged it for about 8 hours. I also use a battery monitor from Google Play to correctly monitor after market/extended batteries cause the stock reader won't read it correctly. I put the 3960 in and took it off the charger at 7:30 am Friday morning. I had my Note 2 on all day. I played music, fb, tweeter, instagram on, emails, text messages, phone calls, web searches and all. At 7:30 pm, I still had 34% battery power left from the 3960. That's 12 hours plus on the first use of the battery. I will order a second on for back up. I recommend this battery.
how many screen on hours did u use have you got screen shots plz

I would check to see if the battery capacity is right. Alot of times the cover it up with a sticker.

I would file a PayPal dispute and get money back.
This kind of crap is why I don't buy batteries, SD cards, or HD's from eBay. Ever.
I know this is a nerco post but is their any other experience with this battery? I'm looking for a little more up time but dont really need 6-9kmAh

It is fake. The only guy with a positive comment/experience about it registered on XDA at the time of making his one and only post to promote the battery he is selling, and never posted in this forum again.
Since the last post has anyone decided to bite the bullet and buy this battery from amazon? It does have three positive reviews on amazon but no one gives actual run times or posts. On a normal day I am an extreme battery hog, running bluetooth media, pandora, fb, and such I get about 10-12 hours out of my stock battery. I would love 16 hours. I'll have to remember to run betterbatterystats tomorrow and get you all accurate run times on stock. And will do again if I finally decide to get this battery. If anyone has this battery can you give accurate times from battery settings?
Thanks all!
Exact battery I'm wondering about with some reviews on it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AV4ZMGM?vs=1

4250 mAH original back door battery? does it work?

Found these on ebay what i like is that it keeps the original cover and no added thickness , anyone tried those batteries or not i read a reply in other forum from a guy used them and says it adds around 40% more for the original monester note2 battery
I know note2 battery is awesome gives me full 7.30h of working display with 3g and 20 full hours ,, but why not add more if its ok !!!

I'd be incredibly surprised if that is truly the capacity it says considering it's the same size as the stock 3100mah battery. If it were possible to fit a bigger battery I think Samsung would have. Also, from personal experience, I have found those cheaper off-brand extended batteries can often be worse than stock.
I hope I'm wrong because who wouldn't love even more juice?

Hey I bought this exact battery and I've been using it for a week. I honestly haven't noticed any difference. Since I have so much time this holiday I've been using my phone constantly and at the end of the day im down to 10%
I bought that exact "4250 mAh" gold battery from eBay but from a US seller. DO NOT BUY IT. It is not 4250 mAh. I have tested it on my Note 2 and it only has the same power as a regular 3100 mAh battery. It is blatant false advertising.
People don't realize that in China the word "mah" actually means, "Look at the stupid Americans!"
No. This battery will NOT be as advertised.

The only way to extend battery life is to a get a battery physically larger than stock but that's just way too big with a phone like the note 2 imho and iv used extended batteries in my G1 and G2x.

Testing the anker 6200mah and Hyperion 6200mah

Received both the anker and Hyperion 6200mah batteries yesterday. I purchased both from Amazon for about 20.00 a piece including shipping. I decided to test both of these before jumping into the 106.00 mugen 6400. I have an otter box defender case that I moved like in the other thread with the mugen battery. I did the initial twelve hour charge on the anker and took it off of charge and put it in the phone at 9am this morning and used wifi and 4G both throughout the day so far and have not been heavily using the phone too intensively, just as I usually do while I'm at work so it will be rating the battery for how I usually will be using it. It is now 3:30pm and I have done a little Web browsing on 4G and have been updating Facebook and testing all day and am currently at 92%. So far so good I guess I am running beans build 6 with the perseus kernel with the performance profile from the stweaks guide that's in one of the forums on here. My screen brightness is at about 75%. I will continue to update as I break the battery in. Received the Hyperion night before last and charged it in my phone for twelve hours and I gave it a much harder test yesterday. I had the brightness maxed and had the phone on pretty much all day long from about 10am browsing over wifi, playing a ton of games and texting constantly, made 4 or 5 calls and was trying my hardest to drain that battery and with all of that, I finally got it down to 15% by 1:30am. Looks like I might not spend the extra on the mugen and just switch between these two every few days. Will keep updating as I break them in seeing as how these are just the initial charges and they are supposed to hit full capacity after 4-5 full charge/discharge cycles.
Hey where's the guide for the stweaks performance guide?

I upped the voltages a step or two from the ones listed to make sure I don't get any crashes. The performance settings are in the second post down. The first is for battery life I guess, I was getting a lot of lag when scrolling screens and in general so I used the performance ones in the second post with slightly higher voltages.

I'll have some up of the hyperion hopefully soon. I'll try to do my normal usage without tethering. I'm really liking it so far. I recommend anyone pick up the tpu case. It's only $10 on Amazon

Can you link me to the anker? I'm guessing the anker you have isn't officially an anker battery since I don't see it on the Web Site

I'm waiting on my Hyperion to come in. I am going to mod my Otterbox defender so it will fit. Any tips?
I am planning on ordering one of these. Not the Mugen. I do have three questions for you:
1) Both covers are different right? I like the look of the Anker battery better.
2) Does the phone get hot at all?
3) What do you use to charge the battery before placing on it into the phone. Official Samsung charging system or one from Amazon?
TIA
I charged mine in the phone. It came in at 59%. No troubles at all . Once hit full. Reset battery stats. And went to town.

hello
My:laugh::good: battery came in Friday night at 59 percent it lasted 24 hours with everything cut on. I had 2 gmail accounts syncing and Outlook also Facebook which we all know drains battery. I was playing Temple Run 2 with the settings turned up. Flipboard was in frequent use all said I think that this battery is excellent. p.s. it really does take around 12 hours to charge it from 0 that is not a joke.
OK, second charge with the Hyperion with normal use, I have had my phone on for 52hours and am still at 16 percent battery. I'd say 3 days isn't too bad for 20.00. Again this is only the second charge so it may get even better.I can't post screens because I have switched ROMs twice during the three days its been on battery. I'm sticking to this ROM for my next charge cycle so I will actually be able to post accurate screens of usage. I am on the root box ROM now so if you are on beans you would probably get even better battery than I am. Will keep updating.
Here's my 3rd charge on my anker
Now I have a op in general for this battery with tons of pics throughout its use. It's quite detailed. Please look over in general section for more comparisons. I feel the anker is the best I've tested. I've done the 6500 ebay specials have 3 of those. And one of the 7600 ones and there the same as the 6500 ones.

I am looking to buy one of the extended batteries, but none of the sellers on Amazon ship to Australia. Anyone knows of any alternatives, short of using a mail forwarder? I am not very fond of buying the Chinese ones on eBay.
I was using anker extended battery on my s3 and it was perfect. Unfortunately anker/hyperion batteries for note 2 are not available in Uk. I have tried one unbrand from ebay....but it was completely sh%&% $.
So, anyone know where I can buy one of them from Uk ?
Anker battery only comes with the white back cover, correct? i have the gray Note 2, so it would prolly look goofy with a white back...

I have it and I must say it does. I've been meaning to do what others here have, which is use some vinyl to change the white to whatever other color I want.

As others have said, get a new battery. I was having this problem a few months ago. As soon as i replaced my battery it hasn't happened ONCE since.
Here's a link to a cheap GREAT quality battery :

This happened to me too. It is 99.9% a battery problem.
Unfortunately, I was in the 0.1% where even a new battery made my phone restart randomly.
Maybe it just my bad luck that the second battery was bad on arrival. But I didn't want to take any chances.
I have requested a warranty replacement from T-Mobile.
I've had this same problem for the last few months and tried three replacement batteries, two cheap oems off eBay and one pricey mofo off the Samsung site. No avail, from what I've read this might also be a bug in lollipop that you'll just have to wait out even though it's infuriating.
I was having the same problem i have insurance with t-mobile they sent me a replacement battery haven't had the problem since. definitely get it replaced.
same here. original battery that came with the phone most of the time dies at around 30%, i got a replacement battery (battery & charge kit from samsung, used that 50% off coupon you get after registering device) a few months after getting the phone and that 1 drains down normally. i may get a replacement battery through tmo insurance.
I had the same problem to called T-Mobile to get a replacement. They told me they don't replace batteries, had to go through Samsung to get a replacement battery.
Was wondering if your phones were hot when they died? Have a N910T3 which went dark at least 3 times recently. Had to pull battery before I could turn on again. Troubleshooting now.
Also seeing an intermittent SD card unmount issue which I fixed by wedging a piece of paper to increase pressure on the contact pins. Haven't had a reboot so far.

Need help quick!!!

Hi, for some reason my Note 5's battery life is only 12hours and 50mins from full charge. I have to charge it twice a day. Before I never had to charge it twice a day - only once a day. My note 5 is the SM-N9208 (Dual Sim 64GB Silver), Android Marshmallow has not been released for it yet. Is there something wrong with my battery? I bought the phone from an eBay UK seller and PayPal's buyer protection period ends for me today midnight so I need some advice quick. In addition, the fast charging seems to have stopped working with my charger - I am using a UK travel adapter because the fast charger is 2 pin. I appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this. Thanks!
Bump - any suggestions??? I need some advice on this... my 6 month buyer protection ends today
Reboot the phone in safe mode and see if things improve.
