Screen won't turn off during calls - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Hi there. Screen is not turning off automatically during phone calls. Is it normal on Droid Turbo? Does it have proximity sensor? I have tried stock dialer and SIP dialer cSIPSimple. I am still on the stock ROM, locked bootloader. Thanks

I have a similar problem and so does my wife on here Moto X Pure. Not sure why the proximity sensor allows the screen to sometimes come back on during phone calls.
I've accidentally put it on speaker phone with my cheek and blasted my ear drums!

Thanks for the reply. For more the screen is on all the time. So it seems that the proximity sensor is not working at all. Is there any way how to check if it is software or hardware problem?

[Q] Xperia T touchscreen interferes with active calls

Hi,
I've been using the Sony Xperia T now for a while and something bothers me.
When I am in a call, my phone tends to put the caller on hold, switch to speakerphone, or just end the conversation alltogether. My idea is that the touchscreen doesn't lock when I am in a conversation and I press either of these buttons with my ear/head. Is anyone familiar with this issue and is it something I can fix myself? I've looked through the settings on my phone but couldn't find anything to help me here.
This issue doesn't happen every call, but I would estimate it does half the calls. Especially when I'm answering calls.
Thanks.
Never had any problems.

I just checked it. It kicks in at 2/2,5 cm's. So that's good then?

Loudspeaker turns on during calls

My stock 4.2.2 HTC one seems to have a problem with the proximity sensor during calls.
The sensor seems to work fine in terms when covering with my finger or whatever but in day to day use it repeatedly turns the loudspeaker on during calls resulting in hardcore ear pain.
Any ideas before I go deaf?
btw - sometimes it turns mute on instead but that's just annoying rather than painful
Thanks in advance
Adam

switching to speaker on every call

Hi,
Whenever I answer a call, after 5 seconds, it automatically switches the speaker phone. I turn on the screen and the speakerphone icon is not selected. I have to activate speakerphone then disable it to get it back to the standard headset mode.
I have had this problem since day 1 with the phone. I was one of the lucky few to order on release day in Canada. This occurs on stock 5.0, 5.1 rooted, CM12.1
Is this hardware related or just a software bug?
Thanks

In your case, I'm leaning towards hardware. I haven't heard of this before now. The fact that it happens across multiple ROMs is what leads me to believe it's hardware.
I am thinking it could be the screen protector playing with the sensor. I'll have to dig in some more.

display jumps only when calling or receiving a call
System version?
Custom ROM?
Do you use software like big caller image? or any other that change images of caller?
Do you have stock DPI? or you changed it?

Screen stays on when I put phone to ear - help?

when i answer or send a call and put my stock Gnote3 to my ear, the screen doesn't turn off. then my ear plays with the screen, touching buttons and sometimes hangs up on the caller. anyone know what i can do to fix this?
thanks in advance
Settings > Device > Call then make sure Turn off screen during calls is checked.
thanks for the reply...where's the Thanks button?
it was checked, so i unchecked it and rebooted phone. then went and re-checked it. it still won't always turn off when i put it to my ear
I seen this thread, Proximity sensor issue and solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568003
looks like i need to be rooted for that thread to work for me.?.
Yes
Blow on the speaker above the Samsung logo. The proximity sensor is under the shiny metal part. There might be dust blocking it. Hope that helps

My note is about 16 months old now and this is just the norm now. I have blown through the speaker with canned air, it fixes it for a day or too. Then the proximity sensor gets blocked and does it again. It just gets worse and worse I don't even bother anymore. I just turn it off with the power button when I am talking.
just tried the canned air, hope it helps! thanks fellas
