Where to buy proper digitizer, and possibly from usa? - Verizon LG G2

Hey,
I was just giving a pair of lg g2's from family members for free since my family know i like to try to fix things . Anyways one has a cracked screen and the digitizer doesn't work. where as the other has the issue where parts of the screen has unresponsive ghost spots. I was figuring on selling the one without the crack in the screen and letting someone else mess with it, but the one with the crack i was thinking of trying to replace the glass witch i know is hard, and i figured use that g2 because i wont care as much if i lose it LOL. I know the g2 the Verizon model is different then the other models, where is the best place to order the glass online and possible from the USA? (i dont feel like waiting 3 weeks for it to come LOL) Thanks :fingers-crossed:

Go try Mobile Defenders. Their screen prices are around $50 for this specific model, and buying from eBay would only save you like $10. Much more worth it to use to MD screen, at least you can return it if something's wrong

Cracked Screen Repair?

Edited:
I'm getting the phone repaired through Clean Planet Repair (iphonerepair.com).
I had some problems with them the first time I sent it in, but the manager(?) contacted me and we came to a pretty reasonable solution.
That repairs in progress, so, if your HD7 is cracked there's a place that will have done at least *one* HD7 repair there...

Anyone know where to get this done?
I bought a cracked HD7 and can't find anyone who actually knows how to fix it.
Note:
I bought the phone because "Clean Planet Repair" at iphonerepair.com advertised a $99.99 repair and that seemed like a good deal. I mailed the phone there and they called me to say there was a 50-50 chance they'd break the LCD and I'd have to pay an extra $100 to have that fixed (part + labor) as well. They seemed annoyed that I had a problem with this.
On the site you read these great testimonials like "Trust this place, they stand by their promise." Quite a business model. I would not recommend them.

$100 to fix a screen (replace it) is a good deal, please get it done, as HTC will charge u more for sure..
I'm sure its the same deal as the hd2, you can replace just the lcd, but usually will damage the digitizer in the process so it's easier to replace both pieces together.
Good Luck
Post removed; update in first post.
ugh. This is what I'm most worried about happening to mine. I wish it was made of gorilla glass. Maybe I should have gotten the protection plan after all..
How do you guys crack your screen so fast? i had the HD2 since March and never even got a scratch, never used a case just put it in my pocket always... even droped it twice..
My hd7 is still flawless with no case..

Source for replacement screens?

Checking to see if anyone knows of or has a source (other than eBay) for screen replacements for the focus. I've got a badly cracked screen that I'd like to replace, but samsung direct wants $156 and the cheapest on ebay is $98.xx coming from overseas. Everyone I found via google is in the $120's give or take now as well.
Kindof kicking myself for not picking one up when I had the 10% off ebay coupon and there were US sources at $98.
Just bought 2 screens from a wholesaler. Installed one and its working great. Need sim card replacement tray now. Can't find them anywhere. If anyone has a link please let me know.

I'd like to know where you got the screens too.
www.wholesalegadgetparts.com, US wholesaler, $99.00 bucks, BBB rated etc... I just ordered one.
******** UPDATE, this seller is legit. Fast shipping, and the new digitizer/screen is flawless.
How about some info on disassembly and replacement?
So, if your 2 year old is like mine, he's quite efficient at shattering your phone's screen. SO, I went online and found a replacement screen and set sbout installing it myself. I make no claim at any sort of electrical know-how... Damn it Jim, I'm a med student not an electrician. But I do enjoy my gadgets. Anyway, I went online and found some you-tube videos and successfully changed out the screen! Woo-Hoo! I used a hybrid of the two videos as one of them seemed a little too, much but it had a good rebuild sequence.
The first video has a good description of how to remove the screen (I didn't use the hair dryier and it worked just fine), and the second shows how to put it back. The second video should also be good to show how to replace other thinsg (camera, etc.).

I hope this helps people out there make their own replacements a success!
I have a cracked glass, the LCD and digitizer are fine. I have found someone that sells the outer glass for $16. My question is if I can get the digitizer off the old glass and onto the new one.
I honestly don't want to spend $100 on a screen replacement when I can buy a slightly used one for $150...

On ebay is 12dlls the glass, somebody told me that they fix it in a mall were i am from (Mexico) they heat the screen to disolve the glue but i'm not sure about this. The total of the price should be like 35dlls the replacement.

[Q] crack in digitizer what to do?

hi all,
i got a bargin latly and have now got a note but the main donside to this is that is has a chip/crack on the edge of the screen near the menu button.
i need to know anyone oppinion if i can get away with just repacing the digitizer or wil i have to repace the full lcd aswell, im really low on cash now but iv been checking ebay and heres what i found
digitizer - £8.95/$13.89
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-White-Digitizer-lens-Glass-Screen-For-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-i9220-N7000-/300733099033?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460516ec19
full lcd + digitizer - £118.04/$138.24
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LCD-Touch-Digitizer-Screen-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-GT-N7000-i9220-white-/221002976265?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3374cdcc09
iv added the pics bellow and would love feedback to see what is the best situation for me. my so called local samsung repair centre who carnt even fix phones propperly (feedback from alot of people with broken screens) said that i have to replace it all and they quoted me £180.
please let me know guys
Ive seen worse
A simple digitizer replacement should suffice, theres numerous how to videos on you tube.
Just take your time and do not rush it, Also, Dont skimp on the price, If you get a cheap aftermarket digitizer, the performance might not be as good as a genuine one.
Finally, once you get it fixed, There is an app that can tune the sensitivity so you can get it perfect I think its called screentuner im not sure, google it !

thanks man really appreciate your help i didnt realise if i got a cheaper one would make it work crap. how much would you say to speand roughly?
btw i kno it isnt the worst but i ike my phone to be in mint condition especialy as i get bored very easy then it ends up in the mp withing 2 months lol
im not saying buy a really expensive one and get ripped off, I just mean dont buy one made from cheap parts, Like a chinese one.
If you could afford it, Buy genuine, If you cant, buy a recommended one, Check the sellers feedback and scour the internet for recommendations, There may even be some in the accessories section
EDIT: Im unsure whether the amoled screen is an all in one screen, Meaning the screen also recognises the touch and there is no digitizer, Does your phone respond to touch ?
Look at this i found on ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Outer-Len...arts_Tools&hash=item20c7b38727#ht_2782wt_1037 It is just the outer glass screen, So if you get this, It wont affect the touch response :good:
I understand that it would affect the sale price, but be careful as I've found the most difficult thing to do is to separate the digitizer from the LCD screen without patience. The safest route would be to get the Digitizer + LCD costs, but ofc it costs ridiculously higher than just the digitizer.
For howto videos, search for "Galaxy Note Disassembly" on YouTube.
Yeah +1
Upon some more searching it seems like a really tricky job, Some say impossible, The choice is yours really, Try it and hopefully save your self some money, Or take the hit and get the whole package - Screen, Glass, digitizer ect.
You could also look at some sort of glass crack repair kit, Like they do on car windscreens, Its only a little crack where the soft keys are so its not disrupting the view of the screen, And it might just save some £££ and a lot of hassle too
again thanks guys,
the thing is all aspects of the screen are fully functioning. it did get it at a very good price i will admit it was cheap but it was only because it was too big for the women who had it previous and cex offered her £190 but wouldnt take it because o the crack!
im all for making sure my device look good i know you can say it doesnt ook bad but its just if it was cheap enough to fix i will do it. or if i end up putting it in the MP in a few weeks when i bored it can either buy and throw in the digitizer or the full pakage.
over than that this is why i posted iv never dont it before and iv sceen my mate do his galaxy s1 but thats it lol

Need new touchscreen/screen for D803

hi guys,
my G2 started acting up, ive lost touch on the top of the screen, 1cm height across the screen, i was browsing around, and it looks like a need a new digitizer.
seems to me that its easier to change to whole screen with glass, right? there are lots of them on ebay for 50$ but im not sure which one to get, from which seller? my G2 is Canadian D803. Can i order screen for any version, or it HAS to be for D803, not for D801 or 802 lets say.

If it's less than a year old, send it back to LG. I sent my Sprint version back I bought second hand, no receipt needed. The phone isn't a year old yet so they will honor it. No fee, just pay to ship to them. 14 day turnaround. They replaced the screen/digitizer. I had also returned the phone to STOCK, but they informed me it had a Language version error and reflashed it also.

how can i find out how old is it?
Been there, done that.
You should be able to go on LG's site and register it; Then they will tell you if it's covered by the manufacturer's warranty. As far as replacing the digitizer goes, It's a real pain. I wouldn't recommend it if you've never done it before.
I've had my G2 for 3 days and I absolutely hate the internal design. I bought it water damaged and cleaned it and replaced the battery. This is probably the most difficult phone I've had to operate on as far as assembly goes. Normally I work on samsung and those are pretty straight forward.
As far as replacing the digitizer goes- you'll have to buy a whole new screen, and you definitely want to get a new frame. There's adhesive between the glass, digitzer and actual display, and getting it all already glued is definitely easier than trying to glue it back together yourself. Aside from that, most of the components inside have glue on them too, so you'll need a tiny screw driver and a couple of different sized spudgers, and you wanna be really really patient and careful. Plan to spend at least a couple hours on it, have somewhere to keep your screws, and work on a level workspace that's well lit. -If you're gonna do it, do it right.
Here's a link to Ebay- $60 is pretty cheap for the whole assembly, but obviously you wanna be careful about what you buy.

Best of luck, but we all know luck is actually just hard work.

Replacement phone

I shattered the screen on my N6 .. Go through the whole process of insurance to find out they wanna replace my n6 with s5 active. Just curious if anyone knows if att can get me a better phone or do i have to settle with an older less expensive phone
Oh god, that is a complete rip off, the S5 Active is garbage, have you tried going through the warranty process with Motorola? You could also consider looking into repairing it yourself if it's the screen and not the LED panel
I've replaced the mid housing unit on my two N6's to make them in to the White/Silver models. While I had them apart it didn't look like it would be too hard to replace the LCD or glass if I had too. Check on eBay to see what the part costs and attempt the repair yourself, or you could just buy another off of Swappa or eBay.
I went through the next plan to get my n6 as well wonder of their going to pay it off
I'll look on eBay see what I can do
