!!!FOR MISUNDERSTANDING, I TELL THIS TEAM WILL NOT ONLY BUILD FOR SGY BUT ALSO FOR SGM!!!
Team MIU-Y is hiring. Team MIU-Y is a ROM development team. This will focus on building ROMs based on not working ROMS such as CM7 just to give you the look of CM7 and make you feel, yes, you have a CM7 working phone. This name can be changed depending on the Votes. MIU-Y is just for reference. Though I know that Galaxy MINI has MIUI, I require some devs to help me through to make something like MIUI for the "Good-for-nothing" Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360.
Prior knowledge required (AT LEAST TWO) -
Resizing and changing icons
Building ROMs with dsixda kitchen (Not mandatory)

the name should not be rom specific as it is not compulsory that you will only create miui roms

I want people from as many devices as possible. This team is "RIGHT NOW" developing for SGY. As soon as it is complete, I will require some files from your phone. So I am hiring EVERYONE... So if you want to become a tester, the more the tester the better.
Tell if you are in.

As everyone here knows the droid 4 is a great phone. For me, and I think most of you agree, it is the best QWERTY phone on the market at the moment many of us will hang on to this phone.
My idea is to have a community of developers for the droid 4. I see there are people that are developing for it, but most are doing it separately.
I myself am not a coder but I could help with testing, bug reports, etc. and I think other users would like to help too. I think that more people helping would make development better and easier.
As a suggestion a simple website for the project with status updates, links to the bug tracker, wiki, etc could be setup. It could also have donations for the project. I could help with the website if needed.
What do you guys think, do you think a community for the Droid 4 would be a good idea?
The idea it's good but right now the only active developers are @lucize and @stargo ... but who knows it would be great!
Thinking of starting a development group wondering if any devs out there would be interested in forming a team getting some build servers and seeing what we can come up with feel free to post or pm me any questions or inquiries you might have.

we should start a google hang out and talk some time
What is your plans? Custom ROMs?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
really im up for just about any thing my plan was to get the people who would be interested in a chat and then see what we could all agree on but yes custom rom was something i did have in mind.
I think that write here is better than chat because others devs can follows our ideas and maybe join to us. For organizzation stuff i agree that hangout is better.
I would like integrate to Stock ROM some CM/Omni features in a way close to Cataclysm do.

By stock you mean Aosp right? My idea start with aosp base and then just merged in features we want. I also want to provide a custom skin that would be unique to us. Also i said hangout so we dont have to wait a day between responses we can hash things out more quickly over hangouts then just update a thread as needed.
PS: looks like we got another person interested i asked him to post in this thread so we can have every one interested in one place
Hey guys hi
Well I assume I'm the other guy ? Hah well I'm interested in graphic designing and I'm sure I could help you guys out
I had the exact same idea
I was thinking AOSP base as well with merged from cool featues from custom roms buuuut as a twist a major visual overhaul maybe? Like change a bit in the ui rather than sticking to all the other lolllipop Roms I can't exactly help in developing the ROM ... But changing the stuff in ui and theming ... And graphic design ( wallpapers and other stuff) :good:
Hope to speak soon
Yes ur the other guy or the meat of the sandwich lol and its like you can read my mind its exactly what i want to do

I have been on a un-official XDA hangouts since the past one year and later it turned into a WhatsApp group. I've been pestering everybody on that group to bring in experts in all fields so that all of us together can cook something up. It didn't happen there, but looks like there is a chance for me here. Would love to join your creed. Please give me more details.

Hey man, u still looking to put something together? I have lots of experience, java, c++, python, core android development, and have been a contributing member of XDA for years, I took a break for a while, as I was getting my bachelors degree in software development, but I'm looking to get back into something, and it's always easier with a team behind u, I wanna do something original, not a blatent copy of all these other ROMs out now, let me know if u want a solid asset to join the team...

I kinda know how to compile roms but I want to work with others and learn.
Hi boys and gals and older fellows:
So, I have been following this forums for some weeks. I own a Redmi 2 Pro here in Mexico (2014819, 16 GB ROM and 2 GB RAM) and I wanted to test a fair amount of ROMS, I never had had a cellphone with so many custom ROMS available and I am very enthusiastic about it, so, I first went to CM13, then AICP, AOKP, DU, RR and even MIUI 8 Betas, until I found this ROM I still want to build called Paranoid Android. But I never compiled a ROM from source (I have been using Linux for many years, but never compiled an entire OS) and while I was trying to build AOSPA (or Paranoid Android) I realized it was too hard for my skills.
You see, I am only a user not a developer, and I see a lot of guys here developing and mantaining at the very same time, using their free time, processors, internet connection and patience for all of us, the users. So, I finally managed to compile CM13 from source and it runs pretty well (everything works) and it feels really great, like an achievement, but then I thought "Now what? Is it possible I can help other users? How can I learn more?". I know this is not a great achievement fro a developer, I did not create a device tree or developed a custom ROM or part of it or write a driver, I know too I can't really help any much more than I have helped to other users (as much or few as it can be). So, what do you think? I wanna learn more, I want to custom CM13 to my own needs as a learning exercise (add, remove, tweak governors; that sort of things).
||||||||||
TL;DR: I want to help people with a lot of work in his/her hands helping Redmi 2 community. I am a regular GNU/Linux user and I can compile CM13 from source. Is there any way I can help you to help others while I learn something more? Suggestions on what to do from now on are also welcome, keeping in mind I am not a developer and I do not want to be one.
Wrong place bro
You can get help from @s.sawrav and @pirej,these are sort of devs who could help you.
Btw if you can, please try to compile also nougat if you can.
And use Google for things you want to learn like oc,governors and stuff there are some pretty good threads here on XDA on how to build kernels and add features to it like this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/ultimate-guide-compile-android-kernel-t2871276 .
Wish you best luck?
Great, one more Dev for our little beast. Try Paranoid next ...

Just start from doing the green thing
That's the best way to learn, and when/if you are happy with the modifications you made, and you think that the rom you made is different enough to be posted as a different/new/your rom, then post it.

I'm not familiar with the meaning of "the green thing", I love plants, so it would be great it is a plant-related saying. Care to elaborate a little? At the moment I am learning some useful repo parameters and attempting to build Resurrection Remix which seems going just OK.
I am downloading too all the source code from CM11, I think that's gonna be doable for a newbie like me, AOSPA is just too much right now, so I gave up with that for now, even documentation is hard to get.

Oh, I see now, thanks for the advice. This XDA Forums app can't parse color tags, so I was lost.
Hey I Was hoping you could build and Maintain a stable Cyanogen 12.1! A lot of people are still using 12.1 and kumajaya has stopped active development on that ROM. Plus the Sailfish OS community would really benefit from your support

WE HAVE REACHED OUR TARGET, THANKS TO ALL THE CONTRIBUTORS AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO @B1||41DS
@33bca has worked on Many Xiaomi Devices before
He is the Official AOSPA(Paranoid) Developer https://gerrit.aospa.co/q/owner:fabian.leutenegger%40bluewin.ch
His github: https://github.com/33bca
and also a Recognized Developer over XDA
Guys our device is short of pro developer who can develop device tree so we talk to a pro developer and obviously if he develop then he needs the device, if the fundraiser succeds can do wonder to our device
Please I encourage entire community to take it seriously and contribute to make this a successful one.
We must safeguard our development for both Willow and ginkgo.
Here's my donation
https://i.imgur.com/esdcydJ.jpg
Pls do any possible donation there is no minimum limit.
The RN8 community actually took a poll in the telegram groups to confirm members voluntary intentions to crowdfund the device to the Dev, and feedback was overwhelming. As we all agree and accept this voluntary step is crucial to rapidly and effectively grow development for RN8 device, we the community don't just want ROM, or Kernels but Bugless as possible through a real recognized Dev who knows his code, to be safe, secured with open source ethics at heart. I will strongly recommend and advice others members to actively join this cause and make it a success
Remember; It is voluntary and we are not forcing anyone
It's just my opinion but, every donation will return to community ×100000 in the form of rock solid, vivid and high quality development. No need to rip off anyone's pockets, if we do this in a spirit of collectivity. Thus said, lets put our alm on this effort.
Everyone should contribute for this because it make our redmi note 8 more stable on development.
The crowd funding has been a successful one. Thanks to all who donated their hard earned money in this cause and a special thanks to @b1||41ds for making this contribution successful.
Don't want to be rude but is there any progress being made?

Regarding v development? Yes. Wip on trees.
does dev still need donations cuz i will donate 7 cad if fundraiser hasnt reached its goal yet. edit: i didnt read the title
I'm not on the Telegram groups, so what I say might be irrelevant/obsolete, but woud you guys consider doing the same thing with developer @Dyneteve, if they do not yet have a willow or ginkgo device? I for one would be happy to contribute, as many kernel/device trees I've been looking at seem to come (more or less directly) from some of their work, and they're anyhow thanked in many ROMs I've been using.
What a successful fundraising it was ^^. I wanted to ask though are there now more chances for cameras to be fixed in android 10?
Thanks!
