Greetings folks. I own a Nexus 6 XT1103 Unlocked. I'm on MetroPCS currently (piggybacks off T-Mobile LTE).
On Android 6.0.1 ROMs the device connects to LTE networks with no issue whatsoever. The real issue arises when I flash an Android 7.x ROM. The device connects to 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) and remains there even though the network setting is on LTE.
The phone momentarily connects to LTE when I reset the radio from LTE Discovery app and then reverts to 3G (the LTE signal detected just drops off to N/A). Also when the device is momentarily connected to LTE, the carrier label changes to 'No Service' even though network is available and LTE data works for those few moments. After those few moments it's back to UMTS and the carrier label returns to 'MetroPCS'
I've tried the following things to fix this (all in vain)
1. Flashed different radios (05.32, 05.34, 05.42) and bootloaders
2. Flash Android N stock image and then flash custom 7.x ROM
3. Go to the *#*#4636#*#* menu and set LTE only.
4. Resetting APN to default and manually adding APNs (both MetroPCS and T-Mobile)
I know the LTE network in the area is fine otherwise and anyway the moment I'm back on MM the issue the device connects to LTE properly (with a valid MetroPCS carrier label). This issue occurs on any Android 7.x ROM but it didn't happen as often in the Dev Preview, if I remember right.
I request all of you folks to help out if you've seen something like this or have any solutions. Cheers.
PS: Google Connectivity Services installed/uninstalled/disabled doesn't fix it
Have you tried a network settings reset? This worked for me when I lost LTE connectivity.
Settings>Backup & reset>Network settings reset.
Make sure you select network settings reset and not factory reset. They're right next to each other, so if your finger slips and you select the wrong one you'll be very unhappy.
Fixed it!! Flashing the 05.39 radio on fastboot before flashing the ROM seems to do it. Now LTE works with the proper carrier label too. I'd forgotten about the 05.39 radio as it was the one bundled with the N Dev Previews.
Cheers!

Hi,
I have done some searching on the forums and found related questions to this, but no answer that fixes my problem.
I have been using a Samsung Ativ S T899M for about 2 years now, originally a phone from Rogers Canada that my work bought, imported into the US on AT&T through Expansys. I actually live in Canada though and use it on Rogers.
We bought these phones with WinPho 8.0 on them, and configured them originally to use the APN WAP.CINGULAR and they connected just fine to Rogers Network, showing 3G, 4G and LTE connectivity for the last 2 years. When I go to the US for work, I switch it to 'Automatic' network connection and I get connectivity just fine. Even through various updates to Windows Phone 8.1, including the Developer Preview.
I recently reset my phone due to formatting issues with an SD card, and reset everything, restoring from a backup:
OS Version: 8.10.14176.243
FW Rev: 2212.12.11.2
HW Rev: 15.3.1.0
Radio Software ver: <blank?>
Radio Hardware ver: <blank?>
I reset the phone, and only 3 days later was I prompted to update to the above versions, although I checked for updates shortly after the reset.
Now to the problem: I no longer see LTE as a connectivity option when connecting to Rogers Network, AND I don't have Internet connectivity, even when choosing 4G. (I realize this might be 2 diff problems)
In the Settings --> 'Cellular+SIM' --> 'SIM' menu, I see only 2G, 3G and 4G in the highest connection speed..no LTE as there was before.
When I search for networks, I see Rogers at 2G, 3G and 4G, no LTE.
I have the APN set to WAP.CINGULAR and have also tried fast.t-mobile.com as advised in some other forum posts, with no luck.
I have the diagnostics app installed (*#634#) and have dialed into the Test Mode menu using *#0011# and tried to follow the codes to get to the UTMS mode menu, but it does not work. Tapping Back twice does nothing whatsoever.
Does anyone have a similar experience? Am I missing the Radio drivers I need? How do I correct this?
Any help / advice / tests are appreciated.
I have this phone as well. Its unlocked from Bell Canada. I made the same mistake and upgraded it to 8.1 DP, I since bought a Nokia Lumia 635 that I use as my daily driver, as there are soo many bugs with the T899M now using the 8.1DP. When I was using it I noticed that missing LTE from the settings as well, but every now and then my phone would tell me I was connected to LTE in the status bar.
I really wish there was a way to restore this phone back to the original factory firmware 8.0....well I'm sure there is, but for some reason there simply is no ROM online to do so. Very unfortunate for us T899M owners who did the 8.1 DP update.
The missing radio HW & SW lines are because Samsung needs to update the firmware, some of the hardware is missing proprietary drivers (radios/camera, etc), unfortunately everytime I contact Samsung they tell me the same thing. "You cannot downgrade, it is not possible. We will let you know when an update is available".....basically the're no help.
Alls we can do is wait....one day it maybe updated...who knows when though...apparently not Samsung.
4G is LTE. I set my highest setting to 4G and in the top corner it shows LTE. 8.1 DP latest
So here's the deal, I have scoured the intarwebs and can't seem that find a solution to my problem, so as such I will toss my problems before you.
I have a Verizon Nexus 6 stock ROM, bootloader unlocked and rooted, TWRP with the current Franco Kernel. No other mods. So here's the issue, I can get LTE, but when the phone hands over to 3g service I get stuck there. The phone remains in 3g until I am forced to go to the cellular network menu and choose lte/gsm/umts so that it ignores CDMA. Once it finds lte again (almost instantly) I can return to global or even the lte/CDMA and have no issues until LTE drops and I have to do it again. I have even gone and got a new SIM with no fix.
Any ideas on a solution
First of all let me apologize to all those who I did not believe when they said they got LTE on their H version of the Note 4.
What I did was download the C version for Croatia (tele2) from www.sammobile.com.
I then removed the modem, hidden, and, sboot.bin from the firmware and re-packaged it using TAR_MD5_PACKAGER.
In recovery I factory reset the device, powered off and installed my packaged MD5 of Croatia (tele2) using Odin.
Then I flashed a C version modem even though it failed.
The problem is after a while I loose LTE. It will switch from LTE to 3G then to HSPA+.
I have changed my build prop to mimic an AT&T phone as well as the CSC others.xml file to mimic an AT&T phone and used AT&T's NxtGen APN but eventually I will lose LTE.
I can go into settings then More networks then Mobile networks then chose Network mode and switch from LTE/WCDMA/GSM to WCDMA/GSM and then back to LTE/WCDMA/GSM to get LTE working again but eventually I lose LTE and am back to H+.
I have done speed tests and I do get comparable speeds that I normally get on my AT&T LTE devices so I am sure that I am really getting LTE. Has anyone figured out a way to keep LTE without having to restart or go through the settings to get it back?
By the way I am not sure that it matters what firmware of the C version you use as long as you factory reset.
Edit: Added another screenshot, it seems that it only kicks me off of LTE when the signal is too weak and the phone has switched back to LTE at times on it's own.
Sounds like you need to either reinstall the original stock firmware for your Note 4 or install another custom ROM for it. As it seems the LTE drivers for the ROM that you are currently using aren't working very well.
Or your Note 4 may have developed a fault and needs to be repaired/replaced.
Also since you have a N910H, which is a 3G model of the Note 4 you should not have LTE/4G capabilities.
Hi,
I'm not getting any 3g signals on my Xperia V after flashing back to stock.
What I did:
1. Had CyanogenMod 11.x on my Phone for years. Worked just fine.
2. Switched to CyanogenMod 12.1 (Neo's Homebuilds) a few weeks ago. 3g still working.
3. Wanted to sell my phone - cause I got a new one - so flashed back to stock (9.2.A.2.5 Customized DE) using "XperiFirm" from Flashtool
4. After flashing 3g wasn't working anymore. Every time the phone switches to it I have zero bars and a red "x".
5. After switching to "only GSM" and a reboot I had a stable 2g connection. But as soon as I try to turn an 3g, I get zero bars and a red "x".
6. I switched back to CyanogenMod 12.1 (Neo's Homebuilds). Same problem - zero bars and a red "x"
7. Tried several different stock roms found in the "STOCK FIRMWARES for Xperia T,TL,V,TX" thread
8. Locked the Bootloader und used Sony PCC to repair my Phone
9. Did a factory reset
Additional info's:
I live in Germany
Provider is "o2"
Sim works in a different phone
Can't try out 4g since my provider doesn't offer it.
Everything else is working just fine
The phone is in a really good condition and would get me 100€+ easily. I really hope it is something that can be fixed.
So if anyone can offer some help I would appreciate it.
Try unbranded ftf Nordic or central Europe
Tried them all. No change.
My SI is 1270-9179 which is "Customized DE" if the information in this post is correct.
It is really wired. While finding the 3g networks in 2g mode, it behaves like there is no network at all when it switches. Doesn't even find 2g networks anymore and I have to switch do GSM only and reboot. Only emergency calls are allowed and under "Settings > About phone" it's looks like there is no SIM card.
Have u tried 4.1.2 or ICS.
And try with a different sim card
Hi,
I've got a big issue with Concept Software.
There's no LTE connection available.
I'm using latest Concept Edition 3571 on my D5803.
Any ideas how to solve?
LTE is working on Concept ROM
Is your APN correct?
Yes, APN settings should be ok.
With stock rom LTE was working properly.
Any other ideas?
I had the same problem at the beginning.
How it solved: went into service menu: *#*#SERVICE#*#* and chose LTE only.
After that, I could use the regular user interface choice and has worked ever since.

I've got the same issue on T-Mobile, with build number MMB29V.Z1.3571-somc. I tried the fix you suggested through the SERVICE menu and selected LTE only, but that just resulted in my phone displaying as no reception. Any other ideas anyone might have would be greatly appreciated!
What setting do you have at Wireless & networks / More / Cellular networks / Preferred network type? I have "LTE (recommended)", and my phone connects at LTE if available (with "LTE" displayed at the top) , but at older protocols if not.
Thanks for your replies but the SERVICE menu hint also doesn't work for me.
Seems that I've got the same problem as hwcl.
