According to this website, Samsung may be actually testing its own Android software, based on Nougat 7.1.1 for the Note 4, the Snapdragon variant of the device is listed on GFXBench.
Here are more details: http://www.nashvillechatterclass.co...-7-1-1-nougat-gfxbench-listing-reveals/28432/
it says it has only FHD video recording and no heart sensor .. it might be a different device ..

To me it would be a sign that rumors of Note8 being delayed to Q4 or even 2018 are true.

that's odd indeed, but all of the others specs correctly match with the Note 4 characteristics
I hope it releases.

Why would Samsung update the OS on a phone over two years old, potentially stopping people from upgrading to an newer device?
Don't get me wrong I think the Note4 is still a freaking amazing phone. I just don't want to create some sort of false hope when to me I don't see any real benefit Samsung has in updating this wonderful phone.

Sorry to be that guy but a Samsung employee just confirmed to me through live chat the the last update the note 4 is getting is marshmallow.
Too Bad.

I'm not sure what it means but if you're saying there's nougat proof that's awesome. I just hope it's actually Samsung not a custom ROM that's faking it although I hope that's not the case. Second of all Samsung needs to actually release not just test. Oh God please be true
No

http://www.gsmarena.com/new_samsung_galaxy_note_4_update_optimizes_battery_usage-news-24145.php
Yes, via ota yesterday. March security update
Just received July patch this morning.
Thought it was Nougat at first!
Keep waiting
Keeping the sensor parameters aside, can we expect an open-source take on the post-processing for smartphone cameras? This code can be modified as needed and can be incorporated into custom roms. Thus eliminating the reliance on the OEMs for the updates.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
I'm no camera expert, but, doesn't post processing depend on a individual camera module? I think all custom rom developers can contribute together on a particular camera module for the phone (like, for oneplus 3, all custom rom developers for oneplus3 can contribute together on the camera module, which then, they can integrate into their individual roms, as you are suggesting!). But, I've noticed that custom rom developers are less interested in camera of the phones (argument being, if you need professional quality photographs, buy a DSLR, which doesn't make sense to me.) I hope it changes.
Yes you are right. Devs should understand that, we don't expect DSLR level photos but atleast we can expect the quality to be on par with the stock factory rom. That way, migrating to a custom rom wouldn't be that much of a pain.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
We have seen OP's over aggressive approach to noise reduction leading to very soft images resulting in a loss of details. If devs could tune down the noise reduction a bit, might give better results.

Hello,
I created a thread where I uploaded some pictures (4 sets). I took them side-by-side using both Official/Stock OxygenOS Camera as well as the Ported OxygenOS Camera. And the original photos were also uploaded.
I am interested in knowing how far (or near/identical) the quality really is (this is not a technical/scientific experiment, but more on just visual inspection of the photos). I am inviting people to participate and let me know what they think by voting in the thread.
Here is the thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/poll-tell-difference-ported-oos-camera-t3574805
I will reveal the answers when the poll closes.

Hi,
Thanks for letting me know. Someone else responded in that thread around 2pm so it looks like the pictures are available for viewing without problems.
When you click the link (from the polling thread), you will see four folders - one folder = 1 Set for comparison. You will need to open the folders to see the pictures.
Here's the link once again: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BxHcXHUSGaDDUXRoVk1WcGhxWWM
Hope you can try it out and try to see the difference. Looking forward to it!

That makes no sense what's so ever. This is the difference between closed sourced and open sourced drivers and such. You can't expect the same quality from devs that do this for free without the use of documentation from the camera maker, to companies that can spend millions in developing camera software.
This is something you have to weigh. Understand the trade off. There is a price to pay for being on open source software and sometimes it is more then people are willing to pay. Which is OK.

Thanks for casting your vote, @navneetsoni11.
I realized too late that XDA's polling system allows for only a single vote, and the only way to edit it would be to make a request to a Forum Moderator. Also the poll is about to end on the 17th. I'll assess if it will still be feasible to have it added.
Prior to the Pie update on Sprint I had the capability using simultaneous voice and data. The Pie update disabled that. Is it possible to flash the previous baseband? And does anyone have it? I need the capability to work. It would be greatly appreciated.
It wasn't active on Sprint's Note 9 back in Oreo, there was a "loophole" that allowed you to enable "calling plus". Sprint decommissioned calling plus back in September and the Note 9 Pie update closed off the hack so someone needs to either find another no-root method or we'll have to wait for Sprint to enable VOLTE.
The Note 9 is still capable of talk'n'surf. You can see it in action when you flip on wifi calling, make a wifi call, and turn off wifi while still in the call. It hands the call off to the LTE connection and you're able to talk'n'surf.
I'm surprised that VOLTE hasn't been enabled on the Note 9 yet since Sprint has it running on iPhones and Galaxy S phones. I'm sure they'll flip it on but the wait is annoying.
No lie my note 9 could share surf the web and share internet connection while in call as long as it was outgoing. It stopped working after the Pie update. So I downgraded to Oreo but the capability wasn't there which makes me think that the baseband software was changed. So if I can flash to a previous baseband (if possible) that should do the trick. I wasn't able to do call waiting but I'm willing to make that tradeoff. Does anyone know if it's possible to downgrade the baseband software?
Off topic, has anyone had a problem with phone app stop working after updating to pie?

Nevermind, I did a factory reset and now everything is fine
I guess nobody heard me lol. Are there any sprint users who recovered VOLTE by downgrading to Oreo? If so what steps did you take? Any help greatly appreciated.
Just found this, and I have your answer. Using Odin, you can flash back to Oreo for your carrier. I did this to recover my voice and data, using Shortcut Master to enable it. Pie broke that little exploit, so until Sprint either pulls the heads out of their rear and joins the modern era, or someone figures out the same exploit for Pie, I'm sticking to Oreo.
Yeah I finally got it to work. And who says planned obsolescence doesn't exist. Smh

Maybe that's why Android PIE Looks, Feels, and Acts kind of like the iPhone.

Not only is Google android becoming more like iOS it's also taking more and more information from its users data wise and location wise. I can see myself someday going back to iOS due to the fact Google is starting to take the pi$$.

I didn't buy phone outright within one hour of taking it home I was boot loader unlocked , sim unlocked and rooted. No need to call t mobile for anything. I only booted the stock operating system once. Which was only because it was required step in the process. They asked me for help in setting up my phone. I sure if you can remove Google play services and seemed to think the phone wouldn't work without Google play services.
I get the desire for RCS,but it's barely used still... I could see it mattering in the future, but as of right now, meh... I got mine unlocked by sweet talking a rep, but MSM tool is great too! As much as I love the Google feed, I simply have a shortcut for it on my home screen so I can quickly go to it if needed... Honestly, the international variant works so much better for me! Sadly, TMO really restricts software updates for so many Android manufacturers, even aside from OnePlus. By the time TMO approve a software update, new patches and updates have already released on the mainstream side.
Wow...figured someone would have mentioned it by now...but anyway. Nova Launcher has a Google Feed plugin where you can just swipe right and you have the Discover feed. No root required.
As for RCS...not that big of a deal for me. I'm using International on my TMO 6T because I got tired of the SLOWWW updates.
I'm confident the T-mobile techs have noticed your demands here on XDA. They are surely working on your requests.

Yeah, I know about the alternatives but they are just not the same as having a dedicated stock launcher with the feed built in. It just seems cleaner to me.
Right now though, I do admit I cant use RCS because no one I know has it. So I went to Beta 9 and am using CPL with the plug in.

What does sim unlock mean in terms of updates? I am not sure if my sim is locked or not no proper method of testing but omni or carbon ROMs update just fine without official sim unlock. I only used the stock ROM long enough to boot the thing to fastboot to flash the international ROM. I did this inside the t mobile store while they processed the return of my wife's iPhone ten pro or what ever it was. They didn't seem to mind. Odd they let me do it with out the phone being processed yet. Mine was rooted and boot loader unlocked before I got my receipt. Their system was down for processing returns so I was there about an hour.

Yeah but I would think that the advantages of having newer/faster updates outweigh having to use another launcher or having RCS. Honestly, the OnePlus Launcher leaves a lot to be desired. I got rid of it almost immediately after I got the phone after I saw its huge lack of customization. Used Nova Launcher for years and love it. I won't use these betas though. I use my phone all day and just don't wanna run into annoying bugs lol. Hopefully we get a big new stable update soon.
RCS isnt something I really *NEED*. I can see when a message was delivered...but I'm sure we'll get RCS eventually.

As the title says I have gone into the Chinese forums to look for ROMs. Since Dr. Ketan, The galaxy project, ambasadii left the development of their rom I had no choice but to look into a different forum to get my flashy needs for my note 9. So I currently have to ROMs which I already have in my mega cloud, the one that I am currently using is called Norma rom which I found on a Chinese site! Here's the site https://normaq.github.io/2019/03/29/ROM-9-0-SM-N960F-DS-SM-N960N国行特性官方SC1增强设置三卡支持V1/

There's another rom from this site which I haven't tried yet but will get to it eventually, you can download it from here http://bbs.gfan.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=9613602 and there is another really popular rom on this site too but I cannot make a username for it because it needs a Chinese phone number but if anyone can get one please update me!
