I've installed [ROM][UNOFFICIAL]CyanogenMod 13 for One Mini 2 to my htc one mini 2. But I have just one small problem. My data connection looks connected. But nothing works, no internet. And i don't know why or how to fix this, Any ideas?
here you can see a screenshot. It's not slow speed internet. It's blocked by something i think. Please help
i had an issue when i turned the data on it kept restarting the connection. try clearing the Dalvik cache and cache through twrp. make sure your phone is charged above 50% because the boot will take some time or just keep it charging
I had this issue, I did not get data directly such that if I enable data, sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't, sometimes I would have to restart the phone and get connected and sometimes even that wouldn't work, sometimes it would show data connection but no internet.
This is how I solved this issue, I took a screenshot of the settings that already existed, asked the provide to send me settings then added supl" or "default" or both something similar to that cant remember the exact word, it might be there in your settings, what I used to do was every time I needed data I would manually enter all the settings that had values in them, such as IP address, MMS address etc, and waited for very short while and data would start working on its own, and this method always worked for me.

I will assume you have data enabled and settings changed from 2G to 3G or LTE, otherwise this is an issue similar to mine.

Hello everybody on xda first post and it's a problem.
I've recently acquired a Samguns Galaxy S i9000B. First day trying it, everything went perfect, internet conection stable and without problems, everything else good too.
Today I encountered problems with the internet. I can no longar enter the store in my cellphone (Play store), in the internet browser (which is a default by movistar) I can only search for results in google, trying to connect to any other page returns the message "Couldn't connect to the server", whatsapp functions correctly oddly enough.
I have always been connected to the internet thorugh wi fi, which is broadcasted from my modem through a D-Link Dir 320 router, and I don't posses a multimedia plan, i.e. if I don't have access to Wi Fi I don't have acces to internet on my phone.
Lastly i must mention that I had a similar problem on my laptop, and it was solved by changing the MTU value on it.
I've tried the solutions on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790974, however, I can't do what is proposed in the first post due to the fact that My cellphone doesnt have the folder pdp0 and, it doesnt recognize the commands ip link, ip link list or ip link set. I've yet to install Busybox, however if I input ip, a list of possible commands appears, being one of them link, but it doesn't work for me.
All other solutions have been tried, such as restarting cell phone, router, pc, etc. And turning off and on wi fi save energy, etc.
Thanks for your help before hand.

1) Try to toggle Airplane mode and restart phone after a battery Pull and power button press for a min
2) Try Menu>Settings>Application>Manage Applications
Press the Menu button, then Filter, then select Running
Scroll down the list and select Device management.
Under the Storage section, press the Clear data button.
Reboot phone
3) In recovery clear data, cache and dalvik cache
4) a factory reset using settings> privacy will be the final way to solve it (only do this when you have undone any lagfix you may have done FIRST)
If this did not do it, you have no option but to flash an I9000B Rom to resolve it

Thank you for your response.
I would actually like to try some stuff with the router, as it seems this is the root of the problem. A friend of mine came with a smartphone that can "lend" internet (not sure this is the right term). After connecting to the internet his phone was lending me i could enter the google play store, load wikipedia and other pages. So it seems to be the way i'm broadcasting my wi-fi.
Having said that, I'm not sure how to begin because if wi-fi works fine for the laptop, why would it run incorrectly for my Galaxy S? I'm not sure how to modify the router to provoke an imrpovement in the conecction.
Help please? Anyone has any ideas?

google your router brand name, and they will have instructions as to how you can reset your router as well as go into its setup menu by using your web browser
Well.. suprisingly now internet works.... However it was sort of magical.
I applied a factory reset to the router (the options are now similar to the ones I had before), and the internet on my phone had the same problems through all the afternoon... Now, 5 hours later... for no apparent reason (no modifications made)... everything is working fine. I ain't one to argue with a good thing... but I'm seriously in awe wondering how the hell it worked itself out without me doing anything.
Thanks for the help by the way.
If it helps anyone else, I did make one change, however i don't see how it influenced anything. I uninstalled all updates to the google play store (reverted it back to android market) as well as erased it's data and cache.
I can only download over WiFi network on data I can use web pages and apps fine but it won't download from play store at all
Try to clear data of the store

Need a little more information than what you've given, is there an error? If so then what error is it?
Make sure that Sync is switched on on the phone, nothing like email or the play store will work with sync turned off, if it was off then try again and if it works then your done, if not, read below.
Like the previous user has said, clear data and cache from play services and play store, then reboot your phone and open the play store and allow it to completely load, then attempt a download again.
Is it giving a specific error when downloading? Most errors can be fixed by removing the google account and re-adding it to the phone, reboot between removal and re-entering.
Sorry if I was not clear, I cannot download at all from anywhere on a data connection but I can over Wi-Fi. There seems to be a problem with the stock Sony down load manager, as when I use an external download manager app it works fine, but play store only uses the stock manager AFAIK
It says downloading but no data is getting sent or received

I've had this problem the other way around: wifi did not download for a few minutes, then it starts... For me disabling ipv6 on the router helped. So it seems that the z1 has difficulties with ipv6. Maybe your data connection is also a mixed stack!
Offtopic: I'm experiencing lots of bugs in the stock ROM. That, and the fact that the quality of the parts (i.e. screen, camera, speaker, wifi) is really bad, makes me want to throw out this phone. Never again a Sony for me!
Allright so om back. I just did a factory reset and my problems are back. Wifi hasnt been changed, so there's something else going on. Play store is extremely slow, even downloading just the pictures and downloading will only start after a minuten, bureau then it is reasonably fast... Anybody a solution?

New network provider. Do you have similar problems browsing the web from the phone, no wifi? does the same problem exist trying to access playstore with the phone browser? If you install an app from playstore on say your computer, does the app get installed onto your device when not connected to WIFI?
There is also an option to only update when connected to WIFI, go into my apps, then settings check that as well if you want updates to appear any time.

Which browser? It is not the download manager, because it would not work at all if that was the problem, and you have advised that it works on wifi.
Seems to me like you have restrictions by your cell provider, bad APN settings or similar. I would suggest going to your cell provider to determine what is going on.

Seems that if nothing works from your data connection then you seem to have isolated your problem, try your sim in another handset and see if the problem persists for clarification.
If it doesn't then explore more avenues, like double checking that everything is set up from a network level by contacting your provider.
If you're rooted then install the rom again, don't do a dirty flash, perform a full wipe.
But check the sim in another handset first and check the network too before doing that.
EDIT: Just noticed what dan wrote ditto.

Try someone elses router, chances are if data is working and your wifi isn't then it's probably isolated to the router.
Turn off 5ghz if it's on on your router and turn the channel to auto, toggle pnp and the firewall.
Ok a little update, I had tried the sim in a note 2 and all downloads worked nice and fast
The problem on my z1 was on all downloads from playstore, stock browser, chrome, XDA, anything that involved the stock download manager, but all apps, uploads, anything that doesnt need download manager, whatsapp and facebook downloads, worked fine
I'm now back in the UK and its all working fine with my UK Sim so it seems the z1 download manager does not allow roaming outside the UK.

No it is called a setting in the phone, do not use data while roaming, if you had have been more specific you would have had your answer straight away

Hi, I wonder if anybody can help me. Up until the day before yesterday I was using whatsapp fine over wifi (where I am at the moment there is no mobile signal) on my O2 UK Z1 and then whatsapp lost all connection. Everything else on the phone was working fine but no whatsapp. Every message I sent would go to the clock, no information when people were last online and the faq etc. in the settings would not load because of lack of connection.
I uninstalled the app and then installed it again and all was fine, after sending a few messages the same error occurred again. I have now found that if I clear data in the app settings it will connect again, once I have reconfigured the app and restored from backup. I can only assume that there is some sort of buffer which I am clearing as I lose a few messages when I clear data (all since last backup).
Barring doing a delete of all backups and messages does anyone have any other idea. I have looked and the backup files are about 1.7mb so not massive and I have a fair bit of storage available onboard (>7gb).
I was talking to someone with a HTC phone who had suffered similar symptoms but I have googled and searched and can't find a solution.
Any help much appreciated.
Mark
2 weeks off work and no issues, as soon as I have returned the issue has reared it's head so looks like it's something to do with the wifi here. Everything else works fine and fast so I guess I'll just have to live with it

A factory reset for a cheap Whazz, huge work buddy...lol... at last it's an idea but I will try reinstall mobile settings before that or uninstall and reinstall Whatsup.
I work in a very remote location, I have wifi (which is distributed from a satellite feed) out here and for my mobile phone that is the only connection option. When I am away from work whatsapp always works, both over wifi and cellular data. At work I keep my phone in aeroplane mode with wifi turned on to try and preserve some battery (there is no point in my phone constantly looking for a non existent cellular signal).
This morning I deleted all messages in whatsapp, uninstalled the app and re-installed/configured. Usually I get a failure within 24 hours of doing this so we'll see whether this rectifies the issue.
I know I'm not the only person out here that has had the issue so it is either a coincidence or something with the way the wifi is configured here. I just assumed that the wifi would either work or not but, I am not an expert.
Hey there. Had a strange problem, happened 2 times till now. WiFi was completely gone, went to the settings/wifi and wifi was still on, but the list of AP's/Networks was completely empty. Anyone had that happen ?
greets,
nEUTRon
No one, really ?
I've had the saved Wi-Fi connections be forgotten after a reboot/shutdown. Happened this morning actually.
I have tons of wifi problems, but not this one. My wifi takes a long time to come on after being turned off, often more than a minute, and the wifi setting pages hangs.

This can happen if you have multiple devices. The wifi password file acquires multiple entries and the phone fails to pick one. Longstanding bug Google is ignoring. If you have a rooted device you can read the wifi supplicant file and see the multiple entries to confirm this is what's happening to you.
This is happening to me more and more on my Nexus 6. I'm rooted and stock. Haven't found a solution yet.
My WiFi situation is a disaster with nexus 6 too. No problems at al
l with nexus 5 and nexus 7 (2012)
Hi, this is my first time making a thread and I'm not sure if this fits into the right category, anyways I've had to a factory rest since I forgot my pattern password on my Note 9 (because I'm an idiot) and now after the hard reset I am now stuck on "Checking for Updates" after the rebooting the phone and there is no skip button and I have tried doing another hard reset to still being stuck on the same page. I've let this "Checking for updates" run for about 2 hours to only get a message saying "Taking to long? Try going back and connecting to a different network" and I'm really out of options, any help would be appciated.
Thanks.
Do you have Internet access and sufficient bandwidth where you connected to?

I think you can log on to computer and your Samsung account and use an option within findmyphone to fix this.

Well I'm currently overseas over at China with very slow internet also not sure about the Mbps since its to slow to run that and I have to use Vpn since China blocks out YouTube, Google etc. so I'm not sure if that's that cause.
*edit* I've managed to run an internet Speed test with an average Mbps download of 0.30 Mbps and upload of 2 Mbps, not sure if that's any useful but hopefully it is

nope nothing could be done. no safe mode, no download mode, nothing. going back to the same screen. I even gave the phone to 2 different places to try to fix it and even they couldn't do it, saying there is no file system no structure or anything. so yeah dead weight

I have an identical issue, on my note 8, and i am also in China. wondering if there was any solution found?
I suspect the problem might be because china blocks Google services and the phone is trying to connect to google.
Please if a solution was found, do share.
I assume you've all tried setting up without a sim and wifi disconnected? Works fine for me, it just skips the update checking on initial setup as there's no connection.

I've had the exact same problem on my galaxy s8 and had excellent wifi connection when I tried to get it going after the reset (but still tried to do it with two other connections). I removed the simcard, disconnected the wifi and it just skipped that step (looking for updates). Now the phone is working good!
(still scared that the virus hatched on once again since I didn't wipe my SDcard and put it in again (stupid). But I'm always a bit paranoid and I'm not sure it works that way)
Fixed the problem anyways. Just remove simcard and disconnect wifi.

I was thinking the same thing, just need to get a router with VPN, thx for the advice.
hi, my note has done the same thing, I did a factory reset... need to be able to stop the checking for updates somehow?
or find someone with a modem with a VPN instilled on it. any ideas
?
This is how to fix the problem if overseas
number one If you have hard reset your phone, and then realised I need that VPN to go online like myself in China.
turn off the WIFI on your phone, remove your sim card turn off the phone. turn your phone back on and you can set up the phone again, turn on the phones wifi and re-back up your phone from your Samsung account.
the reason why you should use Google and Samsung to back up all your things is for this reason. you don't need a VPN for Samsung.
this should work on all phones.
mine phone is a Samsung note 9 with android 9 operation system, 8gb -512gb
thanks:good:
