Is it tempered glass?
We have over 270 pages already dedicated to the topic.

I've tried out the Panzerglass TGSP and removed it immediately after installation. It's not case friendly and gave me huge screen sensitivity issues especially on the edges. This said I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Actually I'm not using any screen protector at the moment and haven't got any scratches (yet!). I do however take good care of my devices and very rarely drop them. I'm not even using a case just a dbrand skin on the back as I like the way the phone feels in hand without a case. I know that it's a disaster waiting to happen but luckily I have insurance :fingers-crossed:

Hi all,
I have noticed that my asf is wearing on the right side of the screen because of my thumb/nail is always scrolling on the same spot, if o remove my asf then im naked on the screen so the wear would be less,
I have a galaxy nexus a few years now and the glass doesnt have any. Wear on. It of my scrolling finger
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C6603 met Tapatalk
This is why I put a good quality screen protector over the anti shatter film.
Removing the asf increases the risk of the screen, well, shattering when dropped and the Sony logo is on the film and therefore lost when removing it.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
I couldnt care less of the logo hahah as long i know its a sony the thing is... If i put a protector on it now im putting it on a damaged piece so likelwy it wouldend be a nice thing to see hahah
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C6603 met Tapatalk
Btw when i look at the ear piece (speaker) i can see clearly like there are 2 films on top of eachother? Whats that all about 0_o
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C6603 met Tapatalk
Well, the logo is also a secondary concern to me. It will aid resale value though, I think.
I'm more concerned about the real reason it's on there, which is the anti shatter property.
I got front and back screen protectors included in box anyway, so they went straight on the phone before I even powered it up.
Edit - One of the layers that you can see may be the digitiser. I believe that's very thin. I cannot be sure though, as I can only see the asf and screen protector on mine and I'm not 100% certain on how the screen is assembled.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
Thats just thw thing....im from the netherlands and didnt have any films in my box ahaah and im notnplanning on re selling my phone so thats also a secondary for me
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C6603 met Tapatalk
Well i removed my ASF and i can really recommand to everyone, much smooter, brighter more vibrant screen coulors and very slick front
And if i let my phone fall and breaks the screen so be it,with the film on it it will break to the only differents is that al the piecies aer stil on the phone hahah

Is this still a viable combo? I had it on my oneplus 2 and it was good, I plan on buying a new case and cover when I have the money.
Also, will it look ok with having the black ozrly screen cover on a white model?

I've ordered and returned 2 orzly glass screen protectors, not going to bother with them again. You can clearly see the dots and fingerprints are much easier to see on it. I'd stay away.

I would recommend a wet application screen protector like Ghost Armor, Zagg Invisibleshield, IQ Shield, Phantom Skinz, Best Skins Ever, XtremeGuard. They're all the same. A perfect install looks really good.

I've seen in the other topics that the ozrly is in fact recommended by users, but only the v2. I think I'll get that one as I also want the black to cover my phones white parts. A gold-black phone sounds cool.

I did not like the look either...
I have a tech21 case on my s8+. It's pretty thin, fits the phone perfectly, and has handled a couple of drops fairly well. The material is TPU, if I'm describing that right, and it's roughly the same profile as a spiegen neohybrid without the plastic outer portion. The thing I do dislike is the power and volume buttons do not protrude very much, so I often find myself looking for the buttons instead of finding them by touch.
I have a Tech21 case on my Note 4 and have loved it. Good look, made out of some high tech tpu formula and fits like a champ. Going to buy one for my Note 8.
Pre order price for the latest Note8 flip case seems a bit high

I used to use Tech 21 slim case, but started using Spigen Thin case. Slim, durable, and 1/2 the price of Tech

Who else are OCD like me that can't use glass protector because no matter what brand/thickness out there the glass screen collects dust around the edges of the protector? In search for plastic screen protector film, not glass. The stock one lifts all around the edges, Any good plastic screen protector out there?
I think Nillkin screen protector film (matte or clear) would be one of best options.

We've got the best (a little biased) non-glass screen protection around. Our Ultra Clear film is very smooth to the touch, yet adds grip when carrying the phone. They're also self-healing so you never get those annoying micro scratches from dust/sand in your pockets. They cover virtually the entire front glass and have full adhesive with zero halo. Our material is also inherently (anti-fingerprint), so there is no oleophobic coating that wears off over time and the screen is always easy to clean with a simple wipe on the shirt. They're also made in the USA and come with our Lifetime Warranty :good:
Send us a DM if you'd like to try one out in exchange for a review We offer full body skinz as well. https://phantomskinz.com/oneplus-5t/. Check out our demo video to see the stuff in action

Has anyone else encountered any good film protectors (not tempered glass)? Oddly enough OnePlus doesn't sell the same one that came preinstalled on the phone, which I really like!

I got the Nillkin one which came free with their Frosted case. Not so good...it already has a hairline scratch. But still better than the one that came with the OP5T.
Ringke also provides a film protector.
Both are Nillkin and Ringke products available at the St. Francis mall in Ortigas. (not sure if they can deliver to Batangas though)
did anyone get to test the PhantomSkinz one, I want the closest thing to the original OP with the same fit.

I bought ultimate shield film screen protector, which is good, but there is some minor issues (minor for me, but some users could be more worried)
There is slight lifting issue, likely from installation mistake I made. My microfiber cloth get so wet that i wiped with paper from sides at the end. That might have caused some dust to stick to there.
It has slight orange/yellow tint, but I didn't notice it before someone else mentioned this. It looks slightly grainy or very slight rainbow effect. These issues seems way worst on written format that they are in use and I am very easily annoyed from slight imperfections.
I have been using this one for over two months now and it's still in good condition. I would rate it maby 3,5/5
I ordered CHYI screen protector film for my OnePlus 3t and that is very good. It seems much better than ultimate shields protector. Brighter, clearer, easier to install, dry install and sticks better.
I ordered one for this OnePlus 5t, but it hasn't arrived yet. I have very high hopes for it, but here is a sample from my 3T.

Did the wet install last night since it was recommended you let it sit overnight to fully dry and cure. So far, it's AMAZING. Fully covers the screen instead of only partially like all the rest of the screen protectors out there, and it feels great. Definitely a good purchase.

Prefer Screen protector over tempered glass anyday
I never used tempered glass, until one I bought/used one on Oneplus 5T. What a terrible mistake.
Its dust, fingerprint magnet. On first fall, just came off like it never glued! Damn.
I went back to trusted Screen Guard from GadgetShieldz. They are pricey, but well worth the every penny.
I am using their screen guard/full body guard since Nexus S days.
I usually prefer Ultra Clear over Matt. Once I used Matt on Nexus 6, I didn't like a bit.
So, to summarize, considering delivery to Europe and price in euros:
skinomi: 16,64€
phantom skinz: 22,79€ (they send two protectors)
gadget shieldz: 6,52€
There is quite a difference... I think I'll try the cheapest one and see how it goes.

Please update when you get it if that protector is compatible with cases. My tempered glass I got for Christmas is cracked now and I'm tired of glass protectors. Wishing I kept the stock protector on because it fit with every case and was good quality.

Just ordered this protector. Looks promising. I've tried like 4 protectors before, but sadly, it was bad experience.
Looks like the one that comes preinstalled from factory is the best. My bad that I've removed it after like 1 week.
I will post here some of my thoughts when it arrives
Hi guys,
I've recently got a tempered glass from ultimate shields for review.
Please note this is a full cover tempered glass with full glue in black surround 2.5D edge.
The package came with wet and dry a cloth, a microfiber cloth and dust stickers.
Installation was very easy and minimum bubbles around the edge was only viewable shortly after installing but with a gentle push they dissapeard giving a bubble free installation.
All cutouts are accurate.
Sensitivity is spot on with no issues at all.
There is no dot matrix on this screen protector like some.
Atm I only have the case that came with the 5T and this screen protector gives no issues with this case.
This screen protector seems to be almost the same as the oneplus original but at a lower price around £11.99 at the time of writing this.
If your looking for a screen protector at a much decent price then go over to ultimate shields on eBay and make a purchase.

You can compare the original one with this Invisible Shield version by comparing this image with your own phone:
I think the cutoff is about the same, if not worse
1) Is there glue where the screen is? Or is the glue only on the black edges?
2) Do you see a Halo rainbow effect on the center of the screen from different lighting?

Yes it's the exact same with the sides as the oneplus original although I don't have the original protector to compare unfortunately but I believe it's ever so slightly bigger and I noticeable loss of screen .
Apparently they are not able to shorten the black bars as they said bubbles will appear where it hasn't stuck properly near the curve as well as halo affect will accure.

From my umderstanding after talking to ultimate shields the black bars are there for a purpose as if any shorter they will show bubbles where contact isn't perfect close the edge.
They will be no revisions for the protector as my review units I received for the Samsung s8+ it was revised at least 4 times but still failed to be perfect.
So for the price it's a good protector with perfect fitment and touch sensitivity. The black bars unfortunately are going no where

It is full screen glue covers the whole protector, and no halo affects there is no dot matrix at all. Viewing is perfect believe me.
