there is an article about how to make google app to work when the screen is off by fooling the system that is charging by imputing the command ( dumpsys battery set ac 1 ) on the terminal emulator, it works the first time but then it stops workinf while the screen is off, I'm just wondering if someone else knows if there is a way to make this more permanent or if there is another way to make this work by modifying the build.prop
Have you gone through this?
Hope it helps.

the only thing that i've done it to run the ( dumpsys... ac 1 ) on terminal emulator, i hear the sound that makes when plug in and it works the first time on screen off but then stops responding so it kinda works just want it to be more permanent.

Hello, maybe someone could help me with this, I am making a script and I need to turn the screen off while the script is running, I can not lock the device becouse my script use getevent / sendevent to simulate a person touching it, (it is a bot)
I tried this:
Code:
echo 0 > sys/class/lcd/panel/device/backlight/panel/brightness
but this only dimms the screen a little, how can I turn it off completly? I need to turn it off to not waste and burn my battery, this script is running almost 8 hours without stopping.
I know this can be made with an App but I just want to do it in the same script
I dock my phone during the night, and ideally, I'd like Daydream to kick in whilst it is docked (using Timely as the Daydream app). So far, so simple - just set this up under Display Settings, right?
The problem I have is that the screen goes blank (at some point - I'm not exactly sure when, although I have a suspicion it is when the battery reaches 100% charge). However, I'd quite like Daydream (i.e. Timely) to continue to be displayed so that when I wake up I can see the time. A small thing I know, but it's one of those mildly irritating things that gets more annoying each day
Previously, I had a Galaxy Nexus, and it does this without a problem, so 'something' is obviously blanking the screen on the Xperia Z (which I don't want happen).
Possibilities I've considered:
1. Use Smart Connect (or whatever it's called) to launch Timely when docked. This also seems to 'blank' the screen, seems to need the phone to be unlocked (I have, and must have, a PIN code lock), and it doesn't also seem to use Timely in full-screen nor in 'dim' mode.
2. Set up Tasker to disable whatever is blanking the screen when docked - definite possibility, but I've not figured out what is doing this. Also, setting the screen to not clear doesn't seem to work. Separately, I've tried to ensure the screen remains on whenever Endomondo is loaded/running, but this doesn't seem to 'stick', so I'm guessing it won't stick for the docked/Daydream scenario.
Would love to hear of any ideas, or ideally, solutions.
Thanks.
Hi everyone, I was hoping I could get some help with my LG P990 (Optimus 2x), I recently changed the screen and digitizer (it was broken so I replaced it myself with a new original one).
The thing is that since then sometimes the digitizer just stops working. The screen works, the buttons (screen lock and volume up and down) works, but the touch screen is dead. Obviously I can't reboot the phone so I take off the battery and put it back, the phone shuts down, reiniciates and there it goes, everything is good again, working perfectly... until it stops and the whole thing goes like this over and over...
Any clues of what might be causing this? I think it should be something software related since the digitizer works PERFECTLY until it kinda freezes... but I'm not sure, really not a smartphone guy so...
Thanks a lot!
P.S.: Tried to use the developer tools > locate pointer function and touched everything everywhere accross the screen and it's fully working, no dead zones, so the problem is "random" i mean it just stops working randomly, and I also didn't notice any patterns like "it freezes when i'm doing something specifically" it's totally random, happened when receiving a call, when making a call, while playing a game, while just browsing through the menu, while trying to unlock the screen... at least APPARENTLY random, maybe something i didn't notice if I do, i'll add later...

I have EXACTLY the same problem. Did you fixed it?
So I've been having an issue with auto rotate for awhile now. If I restart my phone it would rotate for the first 2 or 3 minutes then stop. If I needed the screen to rotate I would have to do it manually but today I find a solution. Its been working for over an hour now so I'm thinking it's a fix to some extent. I will not restart the phone as yet to see if it reoccur not yet anyway.
Now for the Instructions on what I did
1.boot phone normally and wait till screen stop rotating automatically.
2. Do a sensor test by dialing *#0*#
3. go to sensors and check if any numbers are at the accelerometer
4. Boot into safe mode
5. Open sensors again
6. This is important part. Boot normally and b4 screen stop auto rotate turn off auto rotate and go in sensor test.
7. Press graph in the sensor test of the accelerometer and move the screen around watch if the graph moves up and down.
8. Allow the phone to stay in the sensor test for as long as it would have taken for the autorotate to stop working. Mine would have been 2-3 minutes as I said before.
9. Exit the sensor test by double tapping back.
10. Enable auto rotate.
Now your phone should be rotating automatically based on my results. Hope this helps. If mine continues to work I'll give an update and if it stops well ill give an update but for now it's working like it should. Let me know if it helps.
So after weeks of trying to figure this out I've found what's causing the problem. Not sure how to fix it. When the phone stays on the charger the rotate will stay on if it's not rotating while it's on then simply plug in ur charger and then restart and once ur charger stays plugged in then it should auto rotate. So in my view I'm thinking there is some electrical problem or lack of power or some how it's linked to the USB port. Please try it and report if u get the same result.

Hey guys,
So I am using GoodLock Routines and I have this routine that sets AOD to 'always show' mode as long as I am charging my phone and I have it set to 'tap to show' while I am not charging the phone. This used to work perfectly before the OneUI 2.5 update. Now when I plug the phone to charge it and the screen is off and locked the AOD shows up for 1 second but then disappears. Can anyone else try this to confirm if it's an issue with the update or it's just me? I also tried to sideload Bixby Routines but it does exactly the same there as well.
If anyone knows a way to show my lockscreen for 1 second when I plug in my phone to charge that could also be a fix as the bug only happens when I plug my phone to charge with the screen off. If I plug it with the screen on and then lock it the AOD remains on as it should.
PS: I am not rooted and won't root so need a non-root method for the screen wake-up part. I tried Tasker with SecureSettings but it's a hit or miss, 1 time it works, then it doesn't.
