Hello, maybe someone could help me with this, I am making a script and I need to turn the screen off while the script is running, I can not lock the device becouse my script use getevent / sendevent to simulate a person touching it, (it is a bot)
I tried this:
Code:
echo 0 > sys/class/lcd/panel/device/backlight/panel/brightness
but this only dimms the screen a little, how can I turn it off completly? I need to turn it off to not waste and burn my battery, this script is running almost 8 hours without stopping.
I know this can be made with an App but I just want to do it in the same script

Hi Guys.
Ive tried a several things to prevent the screen switching off during any phone-call. I tried:
The registry hack (total commander)
1) HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\BatteryTimeoutInCall set from 5 to 0
2) HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\BatterySuspendTimeoutInCa ll from 5 to 0
3) HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastDormandDisplayD uringCall from 1 to 0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
and i have the Advance configuration tool, where the setting is:
Phone sleep during call: not allowed
fast sleep during call: disabled
more often is it annoying me that the screen turns of, seems that i cannot have the freaking thing to do what I want
Your help is much appreciated !!
Rom: 1.93.404.1
I am using Diamond Tweak 0.5 for this specific setting, and it works a charm

I have the latest Orange 1.93 ROM, and in a call if the screen goes off, remove the stylus and the screen comes back on and stays on.

Put the stylus back in during the call and the screen drops back into sleep mode according to your power save settings. Pull the stylus back out and the screen comes back on and stays on again.
Neat eh?
gonna try the "solutions" that are mentioned here, keep you posted !
and many thanks for your reply's !
Hi i am really annoyed about my X1 because whenever i download a video from a site i leave it to download but my wifi keeps turning off when the screen turns off and my download just stops. Is there anyway to make it so wifi stays on or keep my screen permenantly on?
A question out of this topic
1. What is android and what benefits do i get from it?
2. What is 1% battery increments i don't get what it is or what it does?
Purchase program Sreen Off
Hi,
You can change in settings to display never turns off, but you battery will loose to much energy, or purchase Sreen Off program, you can find it on google or on Microsoft Marktplace.
About question 2: with this increment you can see battery change 1%, like 91%....90%

Hi, install hTorch, I have the v3.2 version and it has a button to turn off the screen.
Very useful feature, I'd like to be able to access it from outside the program, like giving some parameters to the exe. If anybody knows how to do this please can you explain?
here's a pic:
Get Advanced Config. With this software it is possible to change the settings for Wifi so the connection keeps active when the device goes to stand by.
Hello friends,
I've just found two good apps. There is no need to wake up our devices using power button !
I hope you love them.
Tap tap app
Wake all
Screen off and lock (widget)
You can find them easily on the Store !

Even better app
I have been using this app (Gravity Screen On/Off) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenofffree for quite a while and I must say it is the best app out there for waking/turning off your phone with the proximity sensor.
I had a problem with it which was every time I rebooted my phone I had to clear the app's data, but after flashing cm11 2nd of February nightly and iodak's kernel v9.9 this app has been working flawlessly for me, even with the phone in deep sleep mode.
So here's the tip for anyone looking for a more advanced/complete solution for waking up your phone with using your power button.
Just make sure you uncheck the option "Turn Screen On by Motion" to save your battery, as this options uses the gravity sensor to wake up your phone, and wastes a lot of battery. With that option off, this app concumes something as low as 0.5% of battery per hour, which is the consumption rate of the proximity sensor

Hey, thanks for sharing this tip! I always wanted to have such a feature! It works great! I hope the battery consumption is really as low as you said (turn screen on by motion unchecked of course). I will test it more intensive during the next days.

In my opinion Auto Screen On https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.omd.autoscreenon is far better. It uses proximity sensor and all you have to do is double tap on sensor. You can set sleep time during which proximity sensor will be turned off. Also whan you take it out of pocket or case just swipe finger over sensor and the phone is ON.
Gravity screen gave me a lot of accidental screen turn ONs, but when i need it I have to shake it like an idiot. Maybe I haven't set configuration correnctly but i tried everything.
Gravity Screen's battery consumption is for me 4%/hour (flight mode)...

Just install liquid smooth 3.0 or AOSB and enable lockscreen notifications. Working perfectly and it doesn't drain battery

Try NFC Unlocker for Xposed Module. Didnt notice any battery consumption taken. Plus, it makes live easier especially when you want to unlock your phone while driving.?

My name is John, my brother is disabled and is using a special mouth controled usb mouse for his mobile phone. (Samsung S6).
The problem is now that we like a method to wake up the device using the mouse.
I use now a app that is prefenting the device to go to deep sleep, but that is a problem with the battery power use. Do you have any suggestion how I can solve this for my brother.
I think that one way of doing it is updating the device configuration file for the mouse. I am able to program app's but have no experiace in updating this system files.
Is it posible to program a app to solve this and have you any suggestions in what way I have to do that.
The Samsung S6 has a hard button
Greating John

there is an article about how to make google app to work when the screen is off by fooling the system that is charging by imputing the command ( dumpsys battery set ac 1 ) on the terminal emulator, it works the first time but then it stops workinf while the screen is off, I'm just wondering if someone else knows if there is a way to make this more permanent or if there is another way to make this work by modifying the build.prop
Have you gone through this?
Hope it helps.
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-force-ok-google-hotword-detection-to-work/
the only thing that i've done it to run the ( dumpsys... ac 1 ) on terminal emulator, i hear the sound that makes when plug in and it works the first time on screen off but then stops responding so it kinda works just want it to be more permanent.
I'm trying to get nightmode to run at a specific time in the evening, as well as some other tasks, then turn off in the morning along with using intent radio as a radio alarm.
I'm using the run shell action (with root): "settings put global night_mode_enabled 1" to turn on night mode and changing the "1" to "0" to turn it off. All this does is put the shortcut in the quick settings to appear on, but doesn't actually tint the screen, same with turning it off - appears off in quick settings, but still tinted.
I know I can work around it with autoinput, but I'd rather a solution that doesn't require the screen to be on.
Cheers for the help
