[Q] AOSP AOKP CM10.1 PAC Camera quality?

I've noticed a difference between the camera quality in stock rom and aosp/aokp and i was wondering if there was any way to improve the aosp camera quality, i love aosp roms but im not willing to sacrifice the quality of the camera as that was one of the main reasons i brought the phone, with other things.

Will the CM camera ever be as good as the stock one?

Although I love having 4k and 120fps, I would ditch that mod and stock roms and jump to CM in a heartbeat, only if the camera took pictures of comparable quality to the stock camera.
I used Resurrection Remix for a couple of days and I loved it to bits. A great experience, blazing fast, highly customizable, but the camera... oh, man, the camera sucks big-huge donkey balls. Even with decent light, shots are terrible and no amount of manual setting can achieve photos of comparable quality to stock.
Are the limitations due to development being rather early or is this something that's simply never going to happen?

Anyone have default OP3T camera app?

Flashed resurrection remix and installed the Google camera app. I think it may not be as good as the Oneplus camera app. I'd like to install it if possible.

Here is a link to the ported OOS camera app. I have used it with custom roms (7.1.1). It is not exactly identical to the stock camera but it is close. When it comes to quality, nothing beats the stock OOS cam on the stock rom/stock-based roms.

Shoot. Is it really that much better on stock OOS? I had the phone for a very short period of time before rooting and custom ROM.
Maybe I ought to go back. Most of the features in RR I'm not using. And a better camera is always more welcome.
Did you flash this dirty? Really need to reset?

For nougat, you can simply install the apk files like any regular app. I am not a photography expert or anything. I am just a regular point-n-shoot guy but I feel that the camera in stock OOS is definitely better. If you don't want to be on stock then you can try FreedomOS. It is basically the stock rom but with more features and some customization.

I am using FreedomOS with ElementalX kernel and it gives great performance and battery life besides other benefits of stock.

I think it's MILES better on stock versus something like CM/Lineage/RR. For one, the video cameras stutter a ton. You also lose 60fps video. The photos are honestly comparable, but the unusable video absolutely kills it. Furthermore, the camera works much better in 3rd party apps like Snapchat/Instagram. I don't really mind OxygenOS honestly. It's close enough to AOSP IMO, and once I got a blacked out Substratum theme on it, 99% of the UI is exactly how I had it on CM previously anyway.

Best camera APP for OP3T with stock rom?

Hello guys,
I'm on the latest stable Oxygen OS on my OP3T.
I wonder what is the best camera app or camera mod to install in order to have better quality pictures ?
I donwload the 2.8.11 camera app. Is there a better app ? Or maybe better drivers ?
What are your thought about ?
Thanks

I'm my opinion the best thing you can do is go and use ported Google Camera (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/modded-google-camera-hdr-60fps-video-t3658552). Right now I'm using Arnova8G2-V8.2 version with no issues.
When I first got my 3T I was pretty disappointed about the camera quality (specially in low light situations) but after installing the GC everything changed, the HDR+ is something amazing. However, keep in mind that for shooting videos and manual control on photos the Oneplus camera app is the way to go.
I recommend you go and install the Google Camera from the link above and do some testing and compare the results with the OP camera you will see what's best for your use.
Good luck!
