So recently I installed Resurrection Remix ROM from the official website and it all went good until two days ago were suddenly I starred to lag heavily. I've no idea what could've caused this as I haven't changed anything in the configuration
Attached is a screenshot of the results my device is getting after running a benchmark test, compared to the results it should get. What (apart from restoring to stock) could be some possible solutions to this problem? Is anybody experiencing this lag with the Resurrection ROM?

Hello everyone,
After lots of searching and no solution, I decided to post the problem here.
I have been using Cyanogen mods for the past couple of months and I am pretty happy with it. It's fast, reliable and generally stable.
The same I believe also for MIUI and derivatives such as Minberry, Galnet etc.
I haven't able to pinpoint the exact time this problem happened, but I believe it started after the 7.1 update.
Since then, HD video on ALL Cyanogen roms I have tried, is choppy and terrible.
I have tested Cyanogen roms, MIUI, MIUI US, Galnet MIUI and Minteberry. I have also tested in combination with Platipus kernel, default kernels and glitch kernel. I have also tested with various radios. I have tried several different apps for video recording.
Still I get the same, choppy, laggy and generally frustrating video recording functionality, when I use HD recording.
I don't know what else to try. I am currently running the latest Mintberry 1.11.18 and the latest glitch kernel and I am having the same problem.
The weird thing is that, my brother also has the i9000 with Cyanogen mod and he doesn't have this problem, camcorder on his phone works fine.
I have tried going back to stock roms and Darky's, but I have found the sluggishness and speed, more frustrating than the camcorder not working.
I have read that this is a common problem with Cyanogen mods, but I am not sure that this is the case. I mean, why is there a problem on some devices and on others there is no problem?
In any case, has anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?
If I am not able to solve this problem, I will eventually sell the phone and buy something else. I like MIUI and the Galaxy S in general, but not being able to record my little daughter while she grows up, beats the purpose of having it
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I broke the screen on my current phone and while it's being fixed I decided to give the ol' I9000 a spin. It was on Android 4.2.2, so I flashed the latest Cyanogenmod 11 snapshop and installed some apps. Both before and after the flashing I had some seemingly random performance problems. There were times when it performed reasonably well, scrolling and opening apps, while mere moments later it took minutes to open the default keyboard and write a few words. Is it something I can diagnose further or fix? Could it be some faulty component (like the built-in storage from example)?
I've attached the About information ...
Hello,
I used to use Titan Prime from on Android 5.0 but a few weeks ago I decided to move to CM 12.1 as Titan Prime development seemed to have stopped. Ever since moving to cm12.1 the phones performance has been horrible with many apps freezing/crashing and just an overall slowness.
My partner has the same phone on stock android and she has always complained of slowness but I though nothing of it with Titan Prime on 5.0. I have read into the issue and understand that there was a memory leak issue with Lollipop and it seemed that the solution was to swap to cm12.1 but this doesnt seem to have solved my issue.
I have forced CPU rendering and turned off animations which has helped the issue a little. Does anyone have the same issue of know of a true fix. I have searched through the forums but cant see anything that I have not already tried.
Thanks,
I tried CM12.1, it was better than stock. I don't understand why it is laggy for you though. Have you tried restoring to stock and then going back to CM? Another reason maybe incorrect GApps.
So, what is the difference between custom roms and stock roms that causes the lag? I've noticed two things with my 6. I've tried Bliss, PureNexus, crDroid, and purely rooted stock. On the stock rom, after a short while, my 6 lags more and more to where the phone is unusable. It's very frustrating. But, when I'm on a custom rom, it's generally smooth and very fast with no lag at all, BUT, I do get random reboots and shutdowns and fc's. I don't get reboots, fc's or shutdowns on the stock rom. But I get horrible lag. Is it possible to get no lag with no reboots? Has anyone been able to make a stock rom with no lag? That would be ideal for me. I do use root for a few things, call recorder, and backup mostly. Though I don't even need the backup much anymore with google saving everything online now. I've never tried to build a rom of my own, so I don't know what the difference would be to make one like that.

My fiance is a writer and she records all of her interviews. She has an LG G4 (totally stock) She uses an app called Bold Beast for recording her calls. No root required. (we did need to fiddle with the multitude of settings to get good recording quality...)
As for the lag, I've had my device since 9/16 (bought used on Swappa). It came with the Beta for N installed. I've been using official N since it was released as an OTA. I only experience any noticeable lag in one situation: When my phone is very low on battery (<30) and I use HDR+, usability and reaction times takes a serious hit. I'm a moderate power user, otherwise, and I haven't experienced anything else that I would classify as lag.
That said, I wonder if there was some serious batch quality differences when this phone was being manufactured as I've seen other complaints of lagging.
Good luck, and sorry that I could only provide a contrary anecdotal response.
Hi all
Used to be a big fan of custom romming all of my phones. But ever since android pay ive been on stock rom. So now I'm a bit out of touch with everything.
Just got LOS on my MI5 and I've noticed that there is a LOT of lag. Does anyone else notice this? In the past AOSP based roms are so much smoother than standard MIUI roms, right now the opposite has been true.
Anyone else experiencing this? So far I'm running latest LOS nightly, standard kernel. Only thing I've added is magisk to use android pay.
I have had the same experience. Even some of the ROMs start out fast then slow down to a halt over time. The fastest/stable ROM I've used is PureNexus + Xceed Kernel, and it supports Android pay, Magisk, Systemless Root, SafetyNet bypass and Substratum and has a nice Pixel like interface (just install Google Pixel Launcher as a system app).
However, keep an eye out: Xiaomi just dropped new kernel source a few days ago and it might solve a lot of the performance issues we've been having. They finally (sort of) sorted it out performance issues on MIUI too in the last (stable) update.
edit: Forgot to mention that the lagging seems to be a result of aggressive frequency handling due to poor resource allocation resulting in "overheating" (it never really gets hot, because as soon as it gets noticeably warm there are aggressive throttles).
install kernel auditor and look your cpu frequences, i m using los since 2 months and the rom is very smooth, just like miui
los seems to get laggy after few days of use. I find aosp to be much more smoother and slim 7
I totally agree with you! I use the MIUI based on Android 6 + Xposed(XMIUI modul)
Which stable update are you talking about? I mean tbh on the latest stable that I Had (from a few days ago) it was mostly fine. But certain apps in certain situation just seem to bog down which is really annoying given the amazing hardware the mi5 has.
Never had any heat issues in MIUI which makes me think LOS isn't really that great.
go to kernel adiutor, go to virtual memory and increase the z-ram
Also just tried purenexus. standard kernel....all of my problems are now solved
that would've been a good shout. But i've switched to purenexus. Everything appears to be fixed.
test slim and xceed kernel based on new surce! is better
