Currently using the 6p is it worth the upgrade to the 3t
i did the same.
camera felt like a bit of a downgrade, but that's just my opinion. not that 3t's camera is bad, it's quite capable too but i feel the lowlight shots are better handled by the 6p.
3t is much more manageable in the hand of course.
development scene is similar so no issues here.
i felt like 3t gave me much better battery life, in large part due to the screen i suppose. and the screen is quite good, you won't notice any difference even though it's fhd. real world performance is quite similar but it does not heat up like the 6p (my 6p used to heat up occassionally)
Just bought my 3t yesterday and i still have my Nexus 6p. The phone is awesome, it's really fast way much easier to hold in 1 hand. Performance is phenomenal compare to nexus 6p not by much but i can feel it Camera is more than ok for me, shoots great picture in good light condition. Im ok with the 1080p screen it saves a lot on battery. The best part for me have to be the 6gb of ram, seriously this thing fly's 10 apps in the background and they never reload not even once. Overall great phone specially for the price.

I did the same and never looked back. Best decision ever made.
I will only miss the Beta program and Latest update but it doesn't matter anymore. Resurrection Remix is the best daily driver ever for me.
Hello to you Guys
yes last week i've sold my 6p,now i'm a lucky owner of an 3T
glad to see some peoples from the 6p section
like @flar2 @franciscofranco and few other guys:good:
i'm glad to be here
cheers
Little update from myself
A new owner of a 3t and your correct this thing fly's.
Little things like camera isn't has good , slow motion is not on the 6p level but hopefully things can get better.
I'm running freedom with Franco and managed 6hrs sot yesterday
Dash charger is also phenomenal
I upgraded from 6p and it's definitely an improvement. Battery life if incredibly better and everything is a lot better apart from the camera... It felt a lot worse in that department... We have ois anyway and it's way better for videos, just doesn't capture all the details the 6p sensor can capture

Same here but I sold the 6P a week after I got the OnePlus 3T. This is my first OnePlus and based on the phone and the price and the development, it definitely won't be my last.

Unless you just want a change then spec-wise not much. The N6 has a bigger display which you might learn to love or you might dislike it. Otherwise they aren't too far apart.
Recently did this myself, love the speaker on the Nexus and quick firmware updates. So long One Plus One, I won't miss you.
Here too, just jumped from the opo to the n6, it's an "upgrade" in every department except front facing camera, not by much but still, love the screen and it performs just as well if not better than the opo.
I have not turned on my OnePlus One since I got my first Nexus6. Just got tired of OnePlus and all the drama.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Go right ahead. I have been using the Nexus 6 for the past week and before that I was using the OPO. Trust me you will love the N6, if you are OK with its size. I love the bigger screen with the 2K display, the stereo front facing speakers and the overall stock android experience compared to the CM 12 on my OPO. But, I use two phones as my daily drivers and now the OPO is my second phone, after putting my old Xperia Z1 into retirement. Now I know why people love Nexus devices in general as well. Go ahead and jump to the N6, would be my advice.
I recently made the switch. Speakers are better, phone seems slightly snappier, roms are definitely more stable, and charge time is crazy fast. Drawbacks: battery life is worse, nexus is MUCH easier to drop, awkward to hold, impossible to use in one hand, and tempered glass screen protectors don't go to the edges like they do on the oneplus. It's definitely different, but not really sure it's an upgrade. They really did a good job with the oneplus one.

I came from a Note 3, so similar hardware, but still felt an improvement in a couple of areas.
I used the OPO for about a month. It's a good phone but I prefer the N6 for the bigger screen, speakers, fast and wireless charging and overall stability. Also getting better battery life with N6 on 6.0.1.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
was about to post a question if the 6 is still considered a good phone for its price right now, been on the opo for just over a year now, that is an amazingly long time for me to be on 1 phone but they have gotten so expensive now that i can't afford 3 phones a year.
so i am Canadian heading to the states, with a pocket of US cash that i managed to get at par. i am seeing prices of around 300US for the 6, it is still 550CDN.
i am looking forward to the larger screen, as i get older its getting harder to see, i still have my orig nexus one, i can not ready anything on its screen anymore
but i am torn between really wanting the moto x pure/style, canada is only getting the play, and the nexus 6.
keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with my opo i am just really ready for a change.
same boat.. from bacon to shamu....
Is it worth the upgrade at this point, having bought the OPO 2 years ago

Beside the 100mAh of missing battery the 3 is of course better in every aspect. But if you are happy with your one dont upgrade. If you arent simply do it.
Thanks very much, I'll see if I can get one when I get home!

Even then, 100mAh won't matter considering the gains in efficiency of the 820's 14nm versus the 28nm of the 801. The DDR4 as well. In fact I'd expect it to generally have better battery life than the OPO for just those two reason alone.
I was very pleased with my OPO, however a family member broke their stupid cheap tracfone LG device running antique version of android, so to help them out, I sold them my OPO 64gb and ordered the new Oneplus 3, I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. The new phone is great, and they are extremely happy with my old OPO.
The only rough part has been all the tutoring they have needed to fully benefit from the more modern android OS.
This will be easier for me moving forward however, as I have installed CM13 on both phones, so it will be easy for me to guide them in their questions that will inevitably come along.
Yes, it is absolutely worth upgrading. I hate the term flagship killer, and no the OnePlus 3 isn't one, it's a flagship in its own right.

I love my OPO but my new OP3 is better in every aspect, I never felt the need to upgrade to OPX or OP2 until the OP3 arrived. My wife still has her OPO and mine it's in the drawer as a backup phone just in case.

I upgraded from OPO to OP3 last week and it's really worth it.
Apart from a few wifi issues I'm facing, the phone is awesome. Overall much faster and everything is better - performance, camera, etc. If you're looking for a new phone then go for it.
That being said, I wasn't really facing any issues with my OPO. It was super smooth and still gave decent battery life.
Can anyone please tell me how better is the camera performance on op3 compared to opo. I'm planning to buy & I've opo for 1.5 years.

I was the owner of an OnePlus One and bought this one because my OPO was broken.
Was it worth the money? Definitely yes
No problems with OOS 3.5.3, no overheating, Antutu benchmark was blasting 166k and battery around 2,5 days.
Changed to Cm13 (the very first underclocked version) and have no 3.5 days with around 2 hours calls, 3h SoT and 6 hours activity (hearbooks at night).
i upgraded from OP2, it completely worth the money
i guess op2 is the worst device that made by OP
I upgraded from the OP2 and the 3T was TOTALLY worth the upgrade! I like it so much better! Everything is better. Battery, heat, performance, camera, etc.
Not only is it worth upgrading from OP2 (which I owned), it's arguable worth leaving the Pixel XL for (which I did today).

It's worth the money!!!
Last year I bought a OP2. I came from an HTC One m7 (4 years old) and went back! OP2 is in my opinion the most fake smartphone ever made. It's an Octacore with 4 cores loked... Otherwise it's getting to hot.... Just compare it with other devices with ab Qcom 810 and you see it.
Now I got my OP3T 3days ago. And this is the first phone I'm very happy with since years!
Fast, smooth, nice screen and a full aluminum body!
Did I told you about dash charge?
OP2 --> OP3T : Nice upgrade

I'm the proud owner of the OP3T since last week. Honestly, I'm very positive about the OP2, so I gave him to my stepsun who's OPX has broken.
The most important improvements as far as I can say after 1 week using my OP3T I confirm he's sooooo fast and smooth, feels great in the hand and the 16 pixels front camera is amazing. I'll keep you posted about my further experiences

Yes it is. I went from a OP2 to OP3T and love it. Much better feel in the hand, much better camera and quick.
I came from the OP2 and i have to say: no, the upgrade isn't really necessary, if you don't miss the possibility of a 128 GB memory. Battery life is a little better, but not more.
If you understand to adjust your OP2 it is absolutely not "the worst device, made by Oneplus". That's rubbish. The OP2 is a very good and nice device with certain suboptimal points, which are easily to compensate... Heating CPU and so on..
For me the OP2 always works in a proper way.
The OP3T works very good as well, maybe a LITTLE better and it's CPU won't overheat. But it isn't worlds apart from OP2...
Just my 2 cents...
Cheers
Clark
I've been seriously considering coming back to Oneplus with the 3T. This 810 chip in the 6P is so damn annoying. Anyways I still love my 6P even with its flaws. Did anyone here come from a 6P and was it worth? Do you feel like it was a noticeable upgrade.

I miss my 6P. My 128gb 3t is fine I guess, but just liked my frost white 128gb 6p more. 3t will suffice until something better comes along.
I came from a Oneplus 2 (snapdragon 810), the 820/821 is really good with thermal, almost no throttling, it keeps always low temps. The 810 is a **** compared to this, i recommend you to upgrade, i was impressive with the battery, the 820/821 uses a lot less battery than the 810. With the oneplus 2 (3300mah) i got 4h 30m of SOT. With OP3T (3400mah) i get 7h of SOT.
First of all the notch was no big deal, turned on the settings to hide it and forgot about it. I did not like the screen quality. Now I am coming from a Nexus 6P which a QHD display and knew it came with a lower resolution screen but all the reviewers were saying how they can't tell the difference. They must need glasses. I am middle aged with not great eyesight and I could easily spot the difference.
The speed of the device is fast and the battery life was good. Wifi reception is excellent.
The dongle for headphones was no big deal either as all of mine worked. However the OnePlus 6T dongle in the box looks like it will break easily overtime and I am mad in the US they don't sell extra's. As for the sound quality knowing that USB-Type C headphones use digital I think the sound quality is not great and even when using a USB-Type C headphones dongle on the Nexus 6P I noticed much better sound. Now the reason I sent it back is constant audio stuttering with Apple Music. I read this has been going on for years and no I am not dropping AM as I hate Spotify UI and I don't really like Play Music which will turn into the much worse YTMusic soon.
So that is a deal breaker I sent it back, went back to my Nexus 6P.
Bout sent back Mine cause it won't work properly on Verizon...
I have T-Mobile so I did not have a chance to try it outside. As soon as AM kept stuttering I wanted to return it.
No issues with Apple music here. I have prepaid so I don't use Verizon myself. I dumped them like 4 years ago now and never looked back

Not really buying that. I'm a pixel peeper and had doubts but you can't tell the screen is 1080p. You would have to have the phone very close to your face to see the difference. Also the Nexus 6p is pretty ancient now and the screen quality won't be anywhere near as good as the newest ones...amoled tech gets better every year.... unless it's from LG ?

A little off topic but how do you compare the camera differences between the 3xl and the 6t. I bought the 6t coming from the og XL (got it free due to 6p battery jank, totally regret it.) Im totally conflicted between wanting the 3xl and sticking with the 6t. My main concern is the camera. In your opinion is the camera on the 3xl worth the price difference?

The Pixel 3 has an unrivaled camera. Maybe Huawei's mate 20 pro/x can compare to the experience due to more options with a wide angle lens, AI that doesn't suck (that black/white background while keeping the subject in colour is amazing), and a night sight mode that performs well.. but the Pixel is king. I returned my Pixel 3 XL because the notch was too hideous and the speakers were garbage, but I'm glad we have GCam for the 6T. Stock camera isn't as good as GCam.
And to the op: sorry but I'm calling bs. There's no genuine way you can tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p on a smartphone. Maybe you're confusing the screen quality, which is still very questionable given how old the 6P is, but still - there's no way you can tell the difference between a FHD and QHD panel with the naked eye. You'd have to have the phone about an inch from your eye to possibly see anything.

The pixel 3 xl isn't worth the price at all.
I guess ive used bluetooth headphones the last few years.. Cant be bothered with archaic wired headphones.
Coming off a pixel 1, can cant tell any differences in the ppi except in vr.. And is not much.
Only major loss is the camera., but everyting else makes up for it.

I'd agree with this too. The pixel 3 shoots 10/10 pics great while the 6T is maybe 7 or 8 out of 10. Then portrait mode is not even close! Overall its more than fine for what I use it for

I guess it depends on how important the camera is to you. The Pixel is obviously better, but then again it's probably better than any phone, not just the 6T. I always think I need the best camera, but then in practice, unless I'm on holiday somewhere, I don't even use it that much. Although sure, it would be nice to have.
Part of the problem as well is the tenancy to view photos side-by-side in camera comparison videos and the like. When you directly compare the 6T to something like the Pixel 3 in most cases it's not going to be as good, but in real usage when you're not comparing it to the best in class, it's a fairly capable shooter in its own right.
