Huawei P10 And Huawei Mate 10 Pro 4g Speedtest - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hello, can you link videos from 4G speed test on the Huawei P10 And Huawei Mate 10 Pro 4g Speedtest (i have already seen the Vodafone 1 Gbps speed but there are in laboratory conditions, so it can't standard in normal use)? Which is the max bandwidth for a normal user today on this cell phone? Which is the best bandwidth on these devices whichever measured any country and cities? If you can, please link the cell tower data from the specialized app. I know the dedicated speed is 600 Mbit. But in reality?
If you know an often updated and accurate site where I can follow 4G speed on everywhere please link it too.

Maybe this helps: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...son&pcampaignid=APPU_1_4mJkWu3kJ43TkgWf1rrQCg

I have speedtester program not need....
Moreover, the app results not same with speedtest.net -10-20 Mbps differences.

I second that. I've used the speedtest.net website on PCs for years and the app works great too.

Speedtest.net app here, as well.
Not to hijack the thread, but what is everyone's average up/down speeds on Edge and 3G?

On 3g, average of 4mbps download and 2.5mbps upload. Never test edge because I never feel the need to switch bands.
On wifi, I go between 18 and 23mbps down and 15 to 18mbps up.
I'll throw another one in here. FCC test from the market. It's the one I use.
A word of caution
Reg: Data Usage
App: Speed Test
Avg data usage per test: ~6MB
Audience: For people with "limited" data on.
I was puzzled to see I had close to 150 MB data consumed last noon. I was sure I wasn't downloading anything at that and all I was doing was trying out modems. Today morning I realized I was using the SpeedTest app to test the modem at that time. So I made a couple of tests using the app, using the 3G watchdog app to keep tab on data. It kinda shocked me to notice that this app was using ~6MB per test! That explains my data usage y'day. I had done more than 20 tests, to say the least, in less than an hour y'day. And then many more tests during the day and even late into night.
So now u r all warned if u r on limited plan. As for me, I am on the 2GB plan, and well, these speed tests cost me close to 300MB in just one day, y'day.

Hey how did you get up to 18 mbps? The scale only goes up to 10... and I only get about 2mbps.....
Sent from my phone
The scale changes with respect to the speed. Mine went up to 15+mbps at school.

Can anyone tell me why mine is really slow? Wifi and 3g both are really bad compared to what y'all have..
Sent from my phone
It's case by case. The speed is related to your phone +ROM+ modem + environment. That's one of the reasons why there are so many (ROM, modem, kernel) combinations out there. We all look forward to the release of AT&T's Froyo source such that developers can come up with an universal solution for all.

Using the speedtest.net app, the max speed that can be reached (stable) is around 10mbps, but it flickers up to around 13mbps (unstable). And using the FCC app, it runs the exact same test as speedtest, but it has a a higher max speed and it allows me to get an accurate result.
FCC test seems to provide more stable results on my Captivate.
Speedtest.net halts while testing the upload speed under several different ROM/modem/kernel combinations.
So I've been using Fcc test.. should you set the server to the nearest location? Is that the best?

Yea, gives you better results since you're transferring data from point A to point B and back, instead of going from point A to point J and back.

JellyBean HSDPA slow ..More of a downgrade than a upgrade!

When using jellybean Roms, with every jellybean rom I have tried they are all stuck on Hsdpa 8 which is slow ,, when I am on Gb and Ics when I go into settings about phone it always states network as Hsdpa 11, but when I am on jellybean Roms it always states Hsdpa 8 , what is this all about? how is that possible? is it a bug on jellybean and will it affect data speeds? I have tried different radios and tried a streaming app to see if it rises when needed, it does not, tethering is awful and slow, I expected more from jellybean but its seems like 2 steps forward 3 steps back, limiting the network to Hsdpa 8 is a complete fail.
Well it seems this problem is quite widespread and other have had the same problem, its a real shame as jellybean is really smooth but if using this ROM means being stuck on hsdpa 8 then for me that's not a option, if anyone knows of a fix to up the category please let us know.
The max data speed the i9000 can handle is 7.2Mbps. HSDPA category 8 supports speeds up to 7.2Mbps and category 9 is 10.1Mbps. So even if it says 9 it doesn't mean we can get up to those speeds.

To be honest that's if the HSDPA: 8 in the settings menu even corresponds to the HSDPA categories, which I'm not sure about. Best thing to do would be internet speed benchmarks on both gingerbread and jellybean then compare.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
That is not entirely correct. Its not just about the theoretical speed and besides I'm not convinced those specs are accurate. In order to support hsupa of 5.76 it would need to support hsdpa 9 .hsdpa 9 supports multiple duplex connections. I have done multiple speed tests on both category 8 and 9 and 8 is roughly 1.5 to 2 mbps slower.

Weird torrent behaviour?

I have never had this issue with ttorrent on any other device. So i am curious about if this is a Note 4 thing others experience.
I have posted below a screen shot, if you will notice the torrent client is showing a dl speed of +6 MB/S, with is the higher end of my bandwidth. However if you notice the network traffic in the status bar is 600 kb/s. Assuming that is obviously the true speed. Mainly due to the client reporting my upload at a staggering +6 MB/S. Well above my bandwidth.
Anyone else experiencing simaler with the Note 4?

Cellular strength and throughput

We know how much you like to stream, ahem, "videos", and so cellular data is mega-important. Rate this thread to express how you think the Huawei P10's LTE performs. A higher rating indicates that it's fantastic: throughput is excellent and signal strength is top-notch.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add.

The P10 has the worst radios i have ever seen on any phone, forget a flagship. It it the first phone i have come across which is not even able to work on 2G in areas where the network is bad. As a result, it is an otherwise good phone which cannot perform its basic duty - to make and receive calls!

Because you bought a phone with C636 customization (Asia) and not C151 (India). there are different bands enabled so thatswhy you have so poor signal. Better read something about it, then spam threads
Sorry for spamming, but I was desperate for a solution.
Thanks a ton for the info about the roms for different countries, despite all my searching I missed it
Now please please say there's a way to flash the C151 rom on the C636 without an unlocked bootloader (and thus root) !! It would be a lifesaver for my $300
Have tried DCUnlocker lots of times but it just doesn't read the phone info. I am on the Nov patch thankfully.

you cannot rebradnd without ROOT.
You can try to use funkyhuawei to get unlock code, and unlock bootloader, then you can rebrand the phone to what ever version (there are threads about rebranding the phone).

BTW, my main complaint in the post is that the phone does not catch even gsm signals well, and gsm frequencies (900/1800) are common to China and all countries in Asia. So it would not matter which region the phone is for.

How to force 5GHz when enable Hotspot

On my OnePlus 7 I can force creating a 5GHz Hotspot (internet share). How can I force my Pixel 4 XL to do the same?

When you're in your hotspot settings, press advanced and set the AP band to 5GHz preferred.

Yes it's preferred, but it never works :'(
All 5Ghz devices can support 2.4Ghz networks and 2.4Ghz can reach speeds of 450 Mbps or 600 Mbps. On 4G data connection, you cannot even reach those speeds so 5Ghz seems pointless for a hotspot. Is there a specific reason it has to be 5Ghz?

But you don't need 5Ghz to game? As I mentioned " 2.4Ghz can reach speeds of 450 Mbps or 600 Mbps", so unless you have a mobile data connection faster than that there is not need for 5Ghz. A 2.4Ghz could easily serve the fastest speed 4G can reach.
But 5 is a higher number than 2.4, so it must be better......
Well, Geforce Now runs better on 5ghz, maybe it's just placebo ?* ? but it actually does ?
If you were super serious about gaming you wouldn't use wifi .

You know bandwidth isn't the only parameter that comes into play (especially when talking about gaming) right?

If we all had latest gen fiber at our homes the world would be a better place, sadly it isn't possible, no matter how serious you are.
hi i have the same problem with my pixel 3a!
My solution is a mini router for 20€, connect the mobile internet via USB to the router and then connect your devices via 5ghz WLAN.
There is a big difference between 2,4 and 5ghz !!
In practice 2,4GHz does not reach more than 30mbits and the more interferences come the worse it gets.
Over the direct Hotspot of the pixel only 25mbits are usable, with the extra 5GHz router this goes up to 70mbits, so there is a clear difference!
I play over Lte and it works absolutely perfect, I sold my gaming PC last month for 2400€, so I am very happy with cloud gaming.
Here are some advantages of cloud gaming, low power consumption, no unnecessary heat development, no fan noise, mobile use, no annoying installation or updates.
To use it properly you need about 50 mbits, nowadays you can get that almost everywhere, soon also in Africa thanks to Starlink.
I also noticed that cloud gaming, whether stadia (which usually doesn't work anyway) or GeForce Now works particularly smooth on my Chrombook. In fact, even my friends discovered this!
