Questions about phone - Moto X4 Questions & Answers

Hi to all,
I would like to buy the Moto X4. I live in Italy, and the model is the following:
https://www.amazon.it/Motorola-Moto-Smartphone-Super-Nero/dp/B0772T7B99
The model should be PA8X0010IT, and It should have 4 GB RAM and 64 GB Internal Memory.
My concerns are:
usb is 2.0 or 3.0?
the second SIM slot is common to MicroSD one?
Thank you in advance.

Hmm
The second sim is a shared space between SDCard and second SIM. It has an USB C, so I'm not sure if it is 2.0 or 3.0.
I think checking the USB C sheet data can find about the speed I'm not sure
Regards

Thank you. I have purchased finally the X4 (XT1900-7): 4 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM. Yes, the second slot is common to second SIM and memory card, so it is not possible to have both of them. The USB is 2.0, I have verified it connecting it to a linux host.

attaching digicam possible

Hello.
I own an olympus C 2100 UZ digicam
and an
t-Mobile MDA 1.
Is it somehow possible to extend the MDA for a Video input or for an USB card reader ?
This would enable me to view my digicam-pictures on a much better monitor than the digicam one's.
(I could either use the digicam's video out in real-time or I could simply verify the shots through the sd-card)
Is there something on the market which acts like a USB-Master between 2 USB slave devices ?
Or is there a battery powered device which is able to copy one memory card (SD-Card from cam) to the mmc used in my phone ?
(then I'd just buy a 128 card for my phone and be happy)
Has anyone experiences with wlan cards for xda 1 ?
Ok, this (second) question my be a little of-topic :
Is it possible that with the actual update of the firmware provided by t-online, the tracelogger tool is no longer available ?

Sd card or mmc card should work in xda.
Hello.
Unfortunaltey Olympus uses a card format called "SmartMedia".
and this format is thinner than my normal mmc-card, but unfortunately twice as broad.
I don't see any slot where a smartmedia card could fit into
That's why I had the question of copying the images with a card-reader which can copy without the aid of a computer.
(I could copy the pictures, view them, delete the odd ones from the card and be happy)

Karlheinz Meier
Yes, my Olympus uses both smart media and compact flash cards. Are you aware that a camera exists that plugs into the sd slot on the xda? I havent tried it personally but some people were quite happy with it, still sold on ebay pretty cheaply.

please help How big memory card xda2 suported and which types of card

How big storage card xda2 suported and which types of card it will support under wm6 , do big memorycard slow ur xda2 .thanks
If you have SDHC Card, you can help us to try driver in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351811
And then you can feel it
So far I haven't been able to get my 4 GB SD to work on my Hima...... any suggestions are welcome . It's an Emtec btw and it doesn't hold the HC logo, but I also can't use it in my camera so I think it's HC.
2 GB is currently the max I can use.
About the speed: the hardware is basically the bottleneck. I have several speeds up to 150, but there is no (noticable) difference between them in my Hima.
i bought kingsten 2gb sd card and its working perfectly
i bought kingsten 2gb sd card and its working perfectly, the dealer said to me larger then 2gb is not supported by xda2. sorry for my english, thanx all here
Up to 2GB SD card is supported, any SDHC card can and probably will cause problems, either till someone adapts the SDHC driver or till we give up hope.
But IF you're able to use SDHC on Hima, (without messing up any other feature) please tell us how you did it.

Micro SD card size

Hello,
i've got a new (used) mteor, with the original operating system (WM5.0). I've put into it a 4gb micro SD, but the phone does not recognize it. The card came straight out of my TyTnII, and worked fine there.
Question: does the mteor have a size limit on card capacities?
thanks.
official SD driver in MTeoR doesn't support SDHC (4GB and higher) cards.
Moreover, WM5 is not designed for SDHC either.
SDHC support had been appeared with WM6. But special SD host driver comatible with SDHC should be supplied by manufacturer. HTC didn't that for MTeoR.
There is some SDHC package for MTeoR is floating around, but it's very buggy - SDHC card disappears after sleep and requires reinsertion.
In the meantime, i've wrote my own SDHC driver for MTeoR, but it's only for my personal use.
Thanks for the response.
If i understand correctly, in WM6.1 there is a chance that this memory card will work?
I've been thinking about putting another Rom on this phone, but am a bit hesitant. I've done it on several other phones (TytnII, Neo, etc.), but have become a bit hesitant. Sometimes the new Roms become "sticky", i.e. slow.
So the question for me is, are the available newer Roms for the mteor ok? Do they run without major issues? And, which one would you recommend for relatively stable running, not "playing", if you know what i mean?
I'm just asking for an opinion, nothing else.
You do not plan to share your driver with the community?

16GB MicroSD not recognized

MicroSD HC Sandisk 16GB not recognized as 16GB. Memory settings of storage card shows 3868MB. This is occuring on two different AT&T Tilt's 8925. One with older ROM.
Any ideas. The microSD card in an adapter shows up on the PC as FAT32 16GB so can't be a defective card??

Repartition using gparted! If still doesn't work it's a fake one.
sounds to me like a cosmetic non-issue.
you see, the software/OS on the phone determines available space and free space using in-memory counters (variables in a programming language). often, the developer might choose a variable type that doesn't have enough "range" to count up to 16GB. so it "overflows" one or more times as it counts up to 16GB, eventually landing on an overflowed value of 3868MB in your case.
if the card is showing up as 16GB on the PC, it is no doubt a 16GB card. on the phone side, you mention you tried it on two different tilts. did you happen to note exactly which ROM versions they were using (its not enough to say "older ROM")? it might be worth trying another ROM if the mentioned tilts were using WM6...maybe this free space counting bug was resolved in WM6.1 and/or later?
just my 2 cents.
flash a newer rom, a 6.5
I got the same problem with another device... and in the end I found that my card was a Chinese fake! They sell you a smaller card reprinted with larger size capacity... but the inside is still "small"! You can use a program called H2TESTW to check its integrity, however.

Install 256GB micro SD card

Hello,
I have a Moto G6 Play.
I was using a Lexar 128GB micro SD but the SD card does not work anymore so I bought a Verbatim 256GB micro SD card.
The Verbatim card is recognized and formated by my phone with its full capacity but if I copy my MP3 library on it, only the half of the library is usable.
I have tried to format and copy in differents ways (on my phone, on a PC) but the problem is the same.
Afterwards, I saw on the Motorola website that the maximum capacity of a SD card that works with the Moto G6 Play is 128 GB.
My question :
Is there a way to make the 256GB micro SD card to work on the Moto G6 Play?
Thanks for your help!

Have you tried splitting it into multiple partitions?
I am currently using a SanDisk 256gb MicroSD card in my Motorola G6 (non play) with no issues.
Where did you get this "verbatim" MicroSD card from? I know there are a ton of counterfeit SD cards out there right now. I know there is a fake 512gb Verbatim going around from places like Wish too. When the price is to good to be true, it's because it is. If you paid under $40, it's probably bunk. They will appear to have their stated storage, even when plugged into a PC. What they do is delete stuff to make room for the new in a cycle.
+1 here for using a 256GB card, in my case it's a Samsung Evo+ card in the "standard" G6. No partitions or funny business required, I just removed it from my Samsung Galaxy S8 that I was retiring and put it into the G6 where it's working from the get-go.
I am posting this here because I too was curious about this before I bought my G6 and was seeing conflicting advice. Personally I would agree that any issues with the 256GB card is probably down to a defective or counterfeit card.
Every model of the G6 should support sdcards over 256gb. If formatted as external storage the G6 series uses exfat, which has a volume size limit of 128 petabytes. They don't even make cards that big... yet. If formatted as internal storage I forget which it is, but it uses either f2fs which has a limit of 16TB, or ext4 which has a limit of 1 exbibyte. If you really wanted to throw a 1TB card in there, you could.

Does the phone actually let you use all 256gb?

Yes, it does - apart from the obvious formatting overheads and rounding inherent to media such as this.
+1 for card being fake 256GB, I use Samsung Evo 256GB with no issues
When all else fails, be sure to use the SD Card Formatter released by the SD Association. It is the de facto standard for low-level SD memory card re-formatting.
I suggest to use Minitool Partition Wizard --> initialize SD card to MBR (by right - click on the appropriate drive) --> close MPW --> Reboot System --> Open SD Card Formatter --> full format (check the box) SD Card. This will restore and optimize blocak-size, fs-formatting and partition configuration to get the best performance. The above process also will reveal the actual size of the card.
Note: Powering of the system, disconnecting any batteries, and removing the card prior to performing above process is ideal as hardware and software can fall into non-typical states in the course of operation.
Warning: A fake card may brick by performing these process' but then again it was going to be useless anyway.
