[Request]fused stabilization on oneplus 3/3t from pixel 2/ 2 xl - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

As our phone support ois, someone please contact b-s-g to port fused stabilization (ois+eis) from pixel 2. So we get smooth pixel like video that is super stable and steady. It will also benefit all phones with eis enabled. Also any developer out there if you can do it do please

I think that requires proper Camera HAL modification, which is quite hard to do. Sultan did it, and that's all the developers.
It isn't easy to bring something like that which doesn't use Software only, but uses the HAL too.

You can't just "think" B-S-G could do it. There are probably many reasons he hasn't done it. It's not as easy as you think it could be. Camera HAL's and Camera Ports are two completely different things. One works under the SystemUI, next to the Kernel. The other is just an installable APK. Combining OIS and EIS is not a Camera Port level modification, it is a HAL modification. It is not easy to modify camera HAL's like modifying a Camera Port.
As for Sultan, he is busy with other newer devices now. He has already released his base HAL and SultanCam flashable zip for the 3/T.
OIS and EIS fusion is not just a simple thing you can do in a Camera Port.

Yep you are right it seems difficult that is why all we did not get it. But OnePlus 5t eis seems to be possible to do. I used 5t and it's eis is great.(atleast till nobody port fused stabilization).

I just don't know why anybody is not taking interest in video capabilities of mix 2

Quick question. Please read :X

Ok, So the camera's 3.2 mega pixel and the video recorder records pretty low res.
Would it be possible to edit the recorder so that it can record higher res/better quality?
Or is there any apps or console commands to change this
Unfortunatly the camera is very poor and nothing will fix it. Thats all there is too it.
Ok, Well that didn't answer my question.
Any the camera isn't poor it works great, Its a bit crappy in low light but still it looks awesome and better then a 5mp camera phone from samsung.

I actually have to agree with this as I've had the G600 and that camera SUCKED no matter what PhoneArena says. I noticed i would only use the G1 for pictures so i got rid of the 600
I took a picture of my eye and then shooped the hell outta it. (I added alot of the spots and wrinkles :X)
This is a resized/croped version, Hell you can see the g1 reflection in my eye.

Ok you must not be able to read.
I'm not asking about quality of the camera.
Im asking if its at all possible to make video RECORDING better or higher res.
And what do you mean by nice fake?
If ur implying the pictures fake, Its not at all fake and was taken by my g1.
It depends alot on bandwidth of memory in the device. I dont know if it is possible right now to make a better/higer quality video recorder. If Google creates API's that take advantage of the full potential of the graphics chips we may get a better camcorder app.
I updated to hero and it seems to have a bit better video recording
but thats because of the codec it uses.

Seriously, read the freaking thread before saying something stupid.
As for the question, I'm sure a developer could create a new app for higher resolution video recorder because it has been done on other devices. Try requesting it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446769

post removed, misunderstood question
No, and the reason is:
A still camera has a longer exposure time and can dedicate more light overtime for each picture. A video has to a expose an image 30 times a second, so in order to expose properly the camera must take many pixels from the ccd and group them together as 1 pixel reducing image size for video. (I could be done by reducing FPS, but that will only go so far.)
And there is also issues with video format standards and the G1 ability to play back video to consider as well.
Heck, even my Canon 5D Mark II can only record video at 1/10th of the resolution it captures still images at. It does video at 1920x1080 or 2,073,600 pixels, whereas still images are captured at 5616x3744 or 21,026,304 pixels.
I think people expect far too much from a phone that has a camera that probably cost $15 to manufacture (the camera part - not the whole phone).
No I dont exspect it to do better i just wondering if it could.

Is this for taking pictures or just make your own screen looks nice.?? So a pic would look nice on your device but looks crappy on another?

Yep. All this technology does - makes photo/video look better on phone's screen. That's it. It doesn't improve quality of camera itself.
Can this be flashed on lollipop?
I'm confused. Is this even worth flashing on the opo?
Flashed it on 44,is there anything I have to enable. Or is it already done after flashing it?
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
Would like to point out that while this is a legitimate mod that does actually do something, when i installed it on my N7 2013 the most notable difference was that it made my device slower. the opo already has a great screen for contrast, so this wont do much anyways unless you have a keen eye for display quality.

A previous BE dev told me that BE has to be installed alongside with a gallery which is able to use BE to render pic/vid.
AFAIK this is a placebo and does nothing but if you do love your device more after the installation then why not?

Exactly and moreover, BE wil only work on untouched original Sony firmwares.
Even after unlocking the bootloader of Xperia devices, BE no longer works due to lost DRM keys which are required for BE and X-reality to work.
Conclusion: placebo effect if you see a difference.
OPO has its own display enchancement option in display setting,
Try to turn it on, you will find your screen color slighty more saturated,
So this MOD is actually redundant? No one can make it work anymore? Cause the display and colour enhancement is pretty promising .

Best Camera Mods For my Z3 COMPACT, and rom.. going travelling

hello, look abit and from what it looks like the slim rom someone made be best just stock but debloated, which is always good, but camera mods there seem to be alot of different ones, some more for advanced users, im not good with all the technical stuff when it come to photograpgy, i just point and shoot, I guess 4:3 ratio will be better for instagram and facebook uploading which is what id be using it for, so i guess the mod that allows 20mp in 4:3, is there any other mods or tips you suggest for me going travelling for 2 months around thailand and wanna get good snaps
You dont need mods for good shooting if the camera is already capable.
Though here is my tips:
-Dont use flash, turn it off.
-For dark environment, use highest iso that you have or just use night scene or high sensitivity modes.
-keep your hand steady if you dont want blurry shoot.
-use grid if you want to get good perspectives in the camera properties.
-I recommend post process the picture through an app called Pixlr Express if you want to get the best of your picture.
-Dont point at the sky in broad daylight if you want to shoot scenery and use HDR.
I guess the best thing you could do is combine the Z5 camera libs with the Z5 ported camera and image quality mods on top of that.
You should be able to find the first 2 in this forum section and the image quality mods are available from scripts like L-Speed

You make a good point, its very difficult for the average user to see a small improvement or worsening of image quality,
What we can do however is work with the assumption that Sony makes its software better with new releases, and that backporting those releases would give us those improvements, whatever they are. Newer is better is the motto here.
For point and click users like you and me the most important function is superior auto. I believe Sony does keep improving that so installing backported apps and libraries should result in better superior auto photo quality.
However for those who like to tinker with the settings you can make much better photos with a 3rd party app like CameraMX, without any further modding.
There is one mod though that never fails to please, and that is setting the quality of the jpg images to 100%, also any mod that would replace the jpeg encoder with a better one would be great but i don't think that exists.
We could try to do a more formal test but i cannot do it.
Here is a respected reviewer, all we need to do the same thing on a phone with either multirom or 2 nandroid images so each shot can be made with and without the mod.
http://connect.dpreview.com/post/7381192801/apple-iphone-6s-plus-camera-review?page=6
So i figured out how to test if camera mods improve, degrade or do nothing.
What you do is build a repeatable testing environment.
This means creating something like a macro studio, but with fixed positions for the phone so each time you take it out and put it back its in the same position.
Example: http://strobist.blogspot.nl/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However instead of making macro's you make pictures of test images.
Example: http://vcc.zih.tu-dresden.de/index.php?linkid=1.2.32&lang=en
This seems to be a rather cheap option: http://www.simplefilter.de/en/analysis/digicam1.html
Here is another free option: http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~westin/misc/res-chart.html
Best case would be to use a correctly calibrated proffesionally printed image.
So there seems to be automatic processing software, but even if you can't get your hands on that an easy test would simply be psnr test comparing the photo to the original image.
No need to go overboard, we're looking for differences between stock vs mods, so it doesnt need to be perfect you just need a stock baseline, and then see if a mod improves psnr or not compared to that baseline.

Low light

At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the Xiaomi Mi Max 3's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I want to know this too
Apparently its good in daylight:

Tried it just now.
The app. I really have nothing to say about it..Google cam mod is way better.
First off all the app is completely bland. There is no controls of whatsoever other than the limited options you have in settings, like six options.
And the app is abandoned, last update on Android was on May 8, 2016. Last update on ios is Dec 9, 2016.
I downloaded it from the internet, search for: com.cortexcamera.cortexcamera_production
Opened lucky patcher and created modified apk with disable license verification..probably the easiest crack ever.

Maybe the app performs better on ios I dunno. But on Android it looks like a fake toy app with cheap graphics decoyed as a rat/keylogger..

[REQUEST] GCam mods A71

As per the thread tittle, are there any devs currently working on GCam mod optimised for Samsung Galaxy A71? Would love to test them out and compare with stock photo app.
Just search on Google, there's quite a lot.
Works just fine. I'd say depending on the shot the HDR works better on gcam, but auto-focus seems better/faster on the native camera app. So far I'm just using the Samsung app.
i'm used MGC_7.3.018_Parrot043-v1, with realme 5 config and change awb to s5kgw1, for result its same with app stock like iso and exposure time. but. for night mode i choose gcam. because detail is very good and time to capture didnot take long time like stock night mode.

This doesn't support the wide angle nor the macro lens. It doesn't seem to be a build for the a71 but for the s20.
Who cares about the crappy wide angle lens or 64mp mode? For anything but gcam snapshots with main camera I use my Fujifilm cameras instead.
I need help with using the gcam for astrophotography. Ive downloaded more than 10 version. And none worked.. another thing is when capturing nightmode, it only says to hold still. There is no shutter count down at all. Ive seen thru google that this device can actually do that star shots using gcam.
Please see sample image ig my gcam shot with astrophotography enabled.

So far I haven't found any version of GCAM that works well in night mode and astrophotography. In all the variants I tested, the captures in night sight mode are worse than the night mode of the stock camera. It doesn't matter if you are in night sight or astrophotography, the capture time never exceeds 3 or 4 seconds. And the results are always mediocre. Before the A71, I had the Moto G8 Power, and depending on the version of GCAM, I was able to capture up to about 19 seconds. The results were better with the G8 Power. And both have camera 2 api level 3 enabled. The A71 needs a version of GCAM modified exclusively for it, otherwise we will never really take advantage of the photographic set. Of course, the same cannot be said for HDR + mode. Especially if Lib Patcher has been enabled. Samsung's forced post-processing disappears, and the details really get much better in GCAM. The images are just a little dark, but I believe that a custom xml will solve it.
