Apple's Ipad and Iphone
These two products are under heavy fire as you probably know.
And that is for a perfectly good reason. They do not work properly.
So my question is: how does Apple pull it off every time, with limited commercials. Just a letter from Jeve Stobs once in a while and some 'magical' lectures about how good these products should be.
They still sell millions of these things!
Why for @$%*sake would you buy anything like this? WHY!?
It just doesn't work and people still buy it!!! WHY!?
WTF!?
Right that had to come out. If you're offended, i'm sorry. If I started a nice thread, i'm happy.

Because despite the flaws people will put up with a lot of crap.
I mean come on the first gen iphones couldnt even send and recieve picture messaging.
Oddly enough I was at an At&t store the other day and facetime refused to work.
Yes i have both of that devices plus htc hd2 with latest android build and a good rom. I really like these there devices but i just dont understand people like you. Well im writing this post from my ipad and thats probably a better internet device than windows 7 installed maintenance pc, yes except flash. I am using iphone because this devices battery, screen and os performances are really impresses me. And yes, iphone and ipads performance are very good and theyre stable, no crash, no bsod, gsod, xsod, no need to formatting frequently... As you can see i am not a fanboy but im just enjoying using these devices. I hope you understand me. You can say anything you want but im not a computer-retarted (at least im a computer engineer) or just moron?!?
I HATE APPLE. <----lets get my view out right now. I hate that they are closed unlike Android that is open source. They are like communist. I hate them for athousand reasons. Those are my views. Dont get offended.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But I must say that Apple devices such as the iPhone are very stable for the average user. Their customers know that.
The reason why they sell so easily.
The iPhone was the first phone to feature many features that we now consider standard on smart phones today. Well atleast they were the first major company.
Apple then released the Itouch. This destroyed their last product the Ipod which virtually replaced CD players. They were dominate in MP3 devices and very well known with their computers. They still are the leader in MP3 devices.
So in short, their past inventions created their very large fan base they have today. All it takes is a few people telling their friends how much they love their Apple. Then before you know it...the world becomes an Apple.
But when it comes to the advance user/developer. We know that Android is where it is at. I have nothing against windows either.
(the iPad is a piece of crap though)
Their users don't focus on the flaws that Apple haters do, they would rather ***** about what's wrong with Android/WinMo devices. And so it continues...
Spend = parts on marketing and development. Look where it gets you.
A company quickly surpassing microsoft as Big Brother.
I can proudly say I never bought an Apple product. I always found something better for a far better price.
I was given a stolen ipod once but used it a day and gave it back.

What do you define as better? Hardware, OS, performance, etc? I for one do not like Apple products. But I am not ashamed to say that it is a great device. Very stable, fast, user friendly. I do agree about the price part though.
And are you on SDX? I remember seeing your picture from the office and it says your a moment user.
I had other mp3 players that I was perfectly happy with before the ipod went with color screens, I had a RCA kinda wanna be b&w ipod that did the job, then a creative brand one (I dont remember what it was called but it was about $150 and badass) that i stored pics, vids and music on, then I got a sidekick3, and then on i always used my phones for browsing and media. I always felt that the ipods back in the day (and still are) were over-hyped and over price, it was more of a status thing, like Reebok Pumps were in the early 90's, over priced shoes with a gimmick inflatable tongue but I had to have them to sport them in school.
Yea I get my ROMs, kernals and recov's from SDX and chat it up at Samsungmomentforum also. Im waiting to see what the epic has to offer till i upgrade to a 1gz phone. Im still torn between the evo and epic, plus both are not in stock anywhere anyways.

Yeah, Apple is defiantly over hyped and over priced. When it comes to the Evo and Epic it narrows down to brand and keyboard preference. I prefer a hardware keyboard, but can live without. After owning a moment, and having data lockups and a 800mhz that is just slightly faster then the heros 500 and something mhz I dont know if I want another Samsung product. I mean they even make it hard to develop on. I coulda made a sense ROM for almost any HTC device way before I woulda figured out how to even port it to a Samsung. By the way I am Xconstaud from SDX haha. I uselly dont see many SDX users here.

If it was a great device, I would like it. But its not so it isnt. Many other devices are fast and user friendly, and despite the marketing apple devices are not flawless. Stop spouting Jobses marketing crap.
Apples strategy after being bailed out by microsoft was release a 2nd rate basic mp3 player called the ipod and stick their logo on it with some restrictive "easy to use" software called itunes that was still 10 times more complicated than click and draging files. they then told everyone it was pretty and good with an expensive marketing campaign until they bought it. People believed the hype and apple relesed successive generations, more restrictive and invasive software and even bigger advertising campaigns.
They then proceeded to do exactly the same thing for the iphone.
I have an iPod Classic that I like, mostly the batterylife and the fact that it syncs effortlessly with iTunes (I run a hackintosh instalation). Except the sound quality is horrible if you use high end headphones.
I have a jailbroke iPhone 2g, I didn't mind it but I hated the fact I couldn't get mms and the lack of app intergration into iOS. It still sits next to my computer, along with my N81 for no reason at all, except maybe if a new amazing app comes out that I would like a try of.
I don't hate apple, I just don't like all their products.
Oh yea iTunes, the main reason I avoid apple.
Apple delivers one, a single one, device (ipod, ipod touch, iphone, etc) a year while the others have to that by the dozen, just to keep up the sales. That's incredible and that's a fact. Period.
Apple makes the hardware and does the software altogether.
So, how couldn't it be a stable platform? Of course it has to be!
Apple rules the marketing and it knows how to sell it's products.
They did not invent the mp3, they did not invent the touch phones, but they know how to grab an idea and make it big.

Apples popular because they were the underdog fighting against the evil empire of Microsoft. Even though thats over and APPL is now bigger then
Microsoft they have managed to keep their for the little guy image and people aren't figuriing out APPL is a huge corporation with business practices MS never even had the balls to try. Yes they make a nice stable phone, but as was said before is Microsoft or HTC only had to make software for 1 peice of hardware a year you can only imagine how stable it would be. APPL makes software for a a couple of their own tech devices. While MS and Droid now make OS's for thousands of phones. Realize if it weren't for MS or HTC we would all be paying $4000 for iphones.
I take that last sentence back, APPL never gets into a business as the leader or inventor, they let someone else market and develop the product then they swoop in a couple years later and slap a fruit sticker on it.
Remember on the 1st iphone when they invented 2G. Then on the 2nd iphone when they invented the camera on a phone, the on the 3G when they invented 3G. Or on the 3GS when they invented the app. Then in the 4G when they invented the Antenna and wifi video chat. LOL
Well, I might be the only one, but I do like Apple's stuff. And I'll explain why. I own a Macbook Pro and an iPod.
I think Apple has amazing hardware in terms of design. When I first brought my Macbook Pro home, I was incredibly impressed by the unibody aluminum construction of the laptop. It felt like I had spent my money on something that would definitely last. I don't know of any other laptop (or desktop) that has as good as a construction or design as Apple's.
Although I have never owned an iPhone, the same could be said about the new iPhone 4 and iPad. I think a lot of people have biased opinions solely because of the Apple brand. If the new iPhone or iPad had Android (or whatever else) on it and if it did not have an Apple logo on the back, I think everyone would be boasting on how awesome those products are -- which would be the same exaggerated reaction Apple fan boys (and Steve Jobs) have right now and the reason why people seem to hate Apple's products.
However, I'm not an Apple fan boy and Apple does have some serious issues. For example, it's really hard to trust Apple's words some times and determine if what they say is real or just a marketing scheme. Also, the recent attacks towards Nokia, Blackberry, HTC (and others) regarding the antenna is absolutely unnecessary and just goes to show what poor sportsmanship Apple has.
And I am really annoyed with its closed environment on the iOS, such as the rejection of the Google Voice app for the iTunes store whereas there are camera applications that have been approved, even though they duplicate the features that come with the phone.
Then again, I don't hate Apple and I'm able to look past the branding and look at the product itself. I'm just glad that Apple is an American brand.
First of all I'd like to say HTC has been great to me... They were always the best about upgrading whatever software was on the phones, they've always been great tech support and up until recently their phones were always revolutionary but now... I mean it's like they're releasing the same 5 phones over and over with a different processor or camera and acting as though it's something innovative. Where a lot of companies are moving forward in design they've been at a standstill since the release of the Nexus One. I know "The pyramid is going to be so great" or something like that but really it looks like an HD7/Evo/HD2 with a better processor... I just don't get the appeal anymore. Even Kyocera is coming out with more interesting devices and that's just depressing. What happened to when HTC's phone lineups had interesting phones? What's the most interesting they have as of late? The surround? Someone at HTC please bring them back to their roots because their new models are just repetitive and dull...
yes, they may be bringing similar phones, but they are all still different. They pretty much got a variation of the evo, all with 4g capabilities, and similar on every carrier for android, and then a lesser version with only 3g on every carrier. i dont pay much attention to windows phones though. but there are rumors of an HTC tablet coming up, maybe that's where all there innovation is going to? just use the rest to keep the money coming in ATM? either way, im more than satisfied with upgraded to my evo from the samsung instinct.
Where else are you going to go? Motorola has their **** on lockdown and believe me, you do not want to enter the Samsung deathtrap.
I will never buy anything but HTC again.
Eh I didn't go Android this time so I'm happy with Samsung Dell and LG in terms of wp7 and can't wait for nokias. I got tired of the fragmentation too
So what do you going to use now after HTC ?
are you apply to samsung developers ?
Yea, I think they felt superior and now they are letting their product go down for sure.
samsung's good. the epic wasn't, but my past two phones i got with them were good (a dumb phone, and a smart phone) and almost never glitched. my parents had the epic for two weeks, and had everything foreclosing, and bad service. i say you go on ATT get the atrix when it comes out for android. motorola's getting good stuff, and android rocks. but i heard W7 is getting pretty good. picking good phone's these days is a pain in the *ss. btw im new, are we allowed to cuss?
Nokia and Motorola are where its at... thats the only hardware id consider atm.
That long huh
It took you five yrs. huh. After my first HTC phone I was done with them. I will only buy one of their phones if they're the only manufacturer my service provider is carrying WM7 on. Hopefully Sprint will carry more handsets. I would hate to get one of those subpar phones again. I never understood what everyone thinks is so great about HTC.
I still firmly believe that they havent really release an HD2/EVO successor, and by that, I mean creating such a magnitude that it ripples throughout the entire mobile market. Maybe they're enjoying their new-found earnings, but I hope they get to work on something truly spectacular that the world havent seen. We still have MWC and CTIA to go.

Here in the rest of the world, we've seen over the past few years just how far Nokia has sunk.
Their handsets are nowhere near the standard of Samsung and HTC and MS were fools to risk the support of superior OEM partners to woo them.
Nokia haven't been on top since the N95 and apart from the top two or three models in their range, most of what they have on the market is crap.
And that's not to say the top models are all that good, they're nowhere near the standard of top Android handsets, the iPhone or the WP7 range.
As things stand, Nokia are about the only manufacturer I'd never consider buying from.
And I very much doubt my opinion will be changed by their WP7 offerings.

If I was running on symbian I wouldn't build top-tier phones either. It would be a waste of power on a bum OS... Just like android, why the powerful GPU and no GPU accelerated UI? It'd just be a waste of resources. With a good OS that will make use of those resources they'll be out of that rut... Symbian wasnt exactly known for its awesome games or power hungry apps so why put the stuff in just to increase the price without reason? I do think they'll need to step up the game and by what they've said I have quite a bit of faith that they will. Not to mention all specs aside they're one of few out there who are still innovative...
I agree, but I don't see what other company isn't doing the same thing, except IPhone, but since I hate apple, and am a loyal ally to Microsoft, HTC is still the best for me!

HTCs WP7 devices have been subpar really... Id rather get a focus unlocked...
You're missing half the point.
It's not just the specs, the build quality and reliability just isn't there.
The majority of their stuff is below-par buggy crap and I don't see switching OSs breaking them out of that rut.

Ah ha ha! Are you stoned?
This is the company that repeatedly delayed/scrapped/squashed MeeGo and has pumped countless BILLIONS into Symbian.
Seriously, Nokia has been spending more on R&D than anyone else and ~90% of that has been wasted on a PoS out-of-date OS that no-one wants.
But then you look at MeeGo and they've still managed to spend more on it than HTC spends in total and it basically doesn't exist, at least not in any commercial sense. How a company can spend so much money on something they have no intention of trying to sell to customers is mind-boggling.
Nokia can't innovate to save themselves, if they could they wouldn't be switching to WP7.
The innovation I speak of is strictly hardware. There's no denying that symbian was just terrible and I dont see how anyone can expect MeeGo to be anything more than a failure... However the design of their phones is not to blame for OS shortcomings. Sure WP7 will be like their first endeavor into high end hardware (bigger processors and such) but with the innovation behind their other devices I think they could bring WP7 to a more acceptable level. I'd love to see a good WP7 device with good battery life and a great camera. As far as I'm concerned 1 gig processor is enough for a phone as long as it utilizes what's there unlike other OSes.

Such as?
What have Nokia done in the past couple of years that's innovative?
i agree with everyone that nokia sucks. motorola, and HTC are good, and if you dont like them go with Samsung (the epic wasn't too bad) if you don't like them either go Apple if you still want an somewhat-decent smartphone. but other then that you might as well buy a flip phone. HTC is the best for phones on sprint, my parents have had several htc windows mobile os phones, and now we all got the evo. but for tablets, the zoom if it was cheaper (check gizmodo.com to see what im talking about) and something with similar specs.
Btw we should have a favorite phone maker poll, and a favorite upcoming tablet poll.
While some of you may be losing faith in HTC I have to say that they have been great so far and I only expect more innovation. As a company they are even better. In the past few months I have been writing a business paper on smartphones, part of the research involved interviewing an HTC employee. I emailed HTC President Jason Mackenzie and within 10 minutes got a reply and a Yes to my interview. Companies that can go out of their way for customers and hear their concerns and complaints keeps me faithful. My next device will always be HTC

On topic with the OP:
I heard HTC is going to do some dual core stuff. Can't wait!
I think HTC has got to the point where they have achieved nearly everything they can with mobile devices apart from speed.
I think htc would have to get some nice new phone designs and some unbelievable hardware spec to make it interesting.
Why do I keep reading everywhere that the S6 looks like an iPhone? How?
The face doesn't look like an iphone, the back doesn't look like an iphone. The only part I understand is the bottom edge, but even then, there are plastic seams on the S6.
And if Samsung really did copy the iPhone 6, think realistically about the timeline. How long would it take Samsung to design a brand new glass and aluminum phone from scratch? At least a year of design and engineering and revamp of their entire manufacturing process. I highly doubt they could copy the iPhone 6 in October and have it ready for production in February. Unless Samsung was copying "leaks" which I highly doubt.
People who make these claims have no idea the amount of money and time that go into manufacturing and engineering.
Honestly who cares? Threads like this are only ever good for one thing... Starting bull **** arguments. So for the sake of everyone's sanity can we please just not?

Agreed, really, what is the use of having people argue about whether a company has produced a similar looking phone?
The iPhone's now look like regular android phones so where's the copy??

Well if you remove the Samsung logo on the front, and the two sensors. Move the camera on the back from the center to the top left. You will have a iPhone lookalike.. Not identical twins but similar.
But now a days it's Apple copying Android software and I guess hardware if you wanna throw HTC in the mix. But both of those companies have a argument that can be used for another day.

Lol of only. Sadly there are many that would rather start ****. Those who can carry a discussion far out number those who can't buy it's always the few who bring down the many....

Ok. So a conversation on XDA actually sounds like a pleasant change of pace so I say we give it a go.
To start. I can see how so people may feel that the s6, not necessarily the edge, resembles an iPhone. It to a certain degree looks like a hybrid between all the latest iPhones, sans the 6/6+. The aluminum that has been darkened or lightened to match the color of device. The back glads is reminiscent of the iPhone 4. And the bottom of the phone clearly has taken some pointers from the apple design team.
But all.of that being said. I prefer this phone and how it feels because while all those iPhones and the new level of build they brought to the market at the time was great. Samsung has taking some of the styling and made a phone that's far more premium and luxurious than any other phone out there. Well the Lamborghini phone actually might technically be more luxurious but 8k for a phone no thanks.

Hey guys,
I've been an Android guy since the Desire HD days, (2010), but before that I had an iPhone. My switch to Android was mainly for the freedom of thinkering, customizing things to my needs and because by that time, devices where usually cheaper.
I have been seriously considering switching back to iPhone, (6s+) specifically, as I feel that in the last years iOS has advanced, as well as Android, greatly.
I buy Nexus devices for the clean Google Android experience, and fast transparent updates with no carrier OEM interaction.
This whole N update has been a disaster IMO, and I'm reluctant to buy a 6p (I'm always one year behind) thinking the same thing will probably happen to it with the Android 8 update. And I always feel as I have to make compromises with my Nexus devices, like the bad camera (IMO) for the N6, or lag after a few days, or the HORRIBLE touch issues on my 2013 Nexus 7 (which I still love).
Not sure if I could handle the change though, will give my wife's iPhone a spin when it receives iOS 10 today.
Any thoughts?
My thoughts:
N6 and iPhone are very good phones.
Choice is personal.
Disadvantage of the iPhone is the price.

Thanks for the reply, though it seems that the price difference gets smaller each time as the Pixel XL is rumored to cost $649, and the 7s Plus 32GB costs $769.
Honestly not a huge difference, more so when you take in to account that iPhones tend to resale for more (at least here in the states)

Right but..., we pay to much.
The design of the iPhones is superior.
Imo that's the reason why people are so happy to pay the high price.
When we look further.... We have here publications that Apple is fined to pay 13 billion euro. They pay 0,005% taxes instead of 30%.
Apple-like companies are stealing from the community, they use infrastructure etc for free.
Maybe you need a brief break from Android, as i might it is really a personal decision versus specs.
In my opinion, it isn't such a great time to upgrade yet, I honestly wanted to upgrade to the OnePlus 3 but alas, it's GSM only so its bands don't support Verizon. Then I was looking towards the Galaxy Note 7 and was thinking about upgrading, but then the whole battery explosion fiasco happened. Now the iPhone 7 came out and I wasn't amazed one bit. Keep in mind I used to have iPhones since the 3G lineup, but the customization capabilities were so stale and weak so I switched over to Android on the Galaxy S5, never looked back.
If I am to upgrade anytime this year it's going to have to be a "Pixel" device and they're going to have to wow me, otherwise I think I'll hang onto my N6 for another year, still an amazing device
I wouldn't get the 6p, since it is snapdragon 810. Frankly, the 6's 805 is a better chip.
Not sure the reason for the panic about the update, it has only been a few days. They've been adding one device at a time, presumably to let the dust settle on the latest device before moving on to the next one. 6p was the most recent to get the update, only one remaining now is the 6.
The next ones (named pixel instead of nexus?) will be snapdragon 820 or 821, which is finally a good 64bit chip from QC.
IMO the ZTE Axon 7 is the best bang for the buck right now. Flagship specs and all the latest features for $400. You could sell your Nexus 6 for $150-$200 to help offset the cost.
Thanks for the input everyone.
Gave my wife's 6s+ a spin, and it would be a pretty big change. Going to think about it for a while and see. Depending on the Pixel lineup I will choose.
Thanks again!
The one benefit of Android is we're really starting to get great phones at a bargain price, something that will never happen to iOS. For instance, my wife got the Amazon-version of the Moto G4 for $125 and it's a pretty amazing phone. Not stock android, and who knows about updates, but it's a great phone for the price.
I'm going to have a lot of trouble upgrading to anything that costs over $300. I'm disappointed that the upcoming Pixel phones are going to be in the Samsung/Apple price range, as opposed to ~$300-400.
After my Nexus 6, I'm considering staying a year behind. Upgrade to a 6p or 5x. Stay in the ecosystem, get the Google updates, get a faster phone but not pay leading-edge prices.
I have three things that keep me from going iPhone and one of them is something I can overlook. I need to have access to the file structure and use my phone as a USB drive. I also need to have the ability to send ANY file to another person via email, like zip files or different image formats like .tiff. The iPhone email restrictions are a deal breaker to me. I also hate having every app on the main screen all of the time, but I can live without it. I'm heavily invested in the Google system, but I'd give that up too.
An iPhone for 99% of people is a solid choice, it's just a fact. But guess what? Android is a solid choice as well. But things like OEM induced OS fragmentation and carrier interference make it a bit less desirable, but Nexus is the way a fix for that. I have to say if they get rid of Nexus devices and get rid of the ability to root (I love ad blocking at the system level) I may have to go iPhone as well.

Apple-like companies are stealing from the community, they use infrastructure etc for free.

The design is superior except of the fact the iPhone 6 and above bend super easy. I work for a cell repair shop and about half of them are bent when they come in for a screen replacement or any other service. We also have a lot of bad batteries come in, and they get so bloated that they push up the screen. But I guess it is better to bloat than explode like the note 7 lol

Apple *invented* exploding batteries.... (yep, they should feel free to actually take credit for this one)

Well I enjoy being on the bleeding edge, that is why I bought Nexus and put up with the shortcomings of Nexus, but the way Google has handled N for the N6 leaves a really bad taste. I know it sounds picky but we buy Nexus for the often mentioned Google updates. Not a fan of the 6p but I'm seriosly considering it, maybe I'll get it during Black Friday.

Well, I've found that I can pretty much replace/cover all my needs with Apple Apps. Also, from using my wife's iPhone, I agree with those who say that the Google experience is actually better in iOS now. They even have features/apps we don't have :silly:

Lol, A sturdy case fixes the bending and a battery change fixes the bloating. Nothing fixes a burnt phone, you are right.

Unfortunately most people have cases that look nice, but have very little protection.

Well I believe that it depends on the person, I can use a phone without case and it won't have issues, still I use a pretty slim one that provide very little protection.
My wife on the other hand, needs to have her phone encased in an almost military grade cover, my kid the same.
There are just people who take a little bit more care of their phones, or just give it a lot more value, for others it's just another tool so if it falls it falls.
I had the note 7. I tried to like it. I like the camera a lot. But I'm sitting at best buy right now returning the note 7. I knew going into the note 7 that TW was a memory hog but I tried to like it. After using it for a couple of weeks and used my N6 again, I couldn't believe how much quicker everything felt. So here I am, back to the N6, I'll be on the look out for the pixel phones.
Since price and OEM practices of apple arent an issue for you, get an iphone.
iphones are targeted at a specific demographic and it seems you are part of it.
Gonna resurrect this thread since the Pixel phones just came out. I honestly do not find the Pixel (reg and XL) appealing.
I used a co-workers S6 Edge, and I have to admit, it was pretty nice. I would actually go for the Note 7 since I like the bigger screen (yes, explosion, yes fire, just saying).
Any recommendations?
Come on Guys and Gals have a guess what Mobile I have just purchased!? NOT to replace my stunning Note 8 but an addition too.
I feel as sick as a parrot, not only do I have 'man flu' but buying this mobile has not helped!

Yep. iPhone SE 32GB. Why you may ask? I will explain.
Music is important to me. The Note 8 has a very pleasing sound stage but its not good enough for me so I had the choice of purchasing a dedicated DAP or an external DAC-Amp. I choose the DAC-Amp that being the Oppo HA-2-SE.
When connected to the USB-C connection the Oppo will take command of the music players internals and use the Note 8 as the source only.
PROBLEM. The Oppo doesn't like the USB-C connections? You see the Oppo can not only replace the mobiles amplifier and DAC but also act as a battery back up to the mobile. :good:
Not with the Note 8....When connected the Note 8 charges the bloody Oppo!? :silly: At present there are only unsatisfactory work around's for this and I don't like any of them hence my buying an iPhone to use purely as the source for the Oppo.
I have joined an Apple forum and much to my absolute amazement they have a thread dedicated to the Note 8. Also other android windows mobiles. I could never see that working here. WE can't even agree on the colour of snow never alone the differences between IOS and Android. Could you imagine it?
I now own an Apple device again. Lets see how that goes. I bought it last night and have yet to remove the plastic cover as once I do that I cannot return it for a refund. God that one point alone truly pushes my buttons. I must not set myself off. the sky is blue and the sea is green.

I should send you a gift for guessing. It may well end up the iPhone SE!
I must behave myself! Stop that! (talking to myself).
You on macrumors? That forum is an absolute blast to watch, especially around release time.
I've been tempted to buy an iPhone through the years, because I write apps for iPhones. Haven't done it so far. That and just about every computing device that I own is made by Apple.

What?!? NO! not another Apple device! I really hate Apple's modern flat UI design, that's why i switched to Android, and also back to Windows!!!!!
iOS 6 and Mac OS 10.8 are the last great versions of those OSes, in my opinion. And then Google seems to be slowly going the way of the Apple, both in hardware and software.
I just wish I had the power to develop some kind of unofficial hacks to re-skin Mac OS and/or iOS with the classic skeuomorphic UI design I love, or even very good clones of those OSes as it was from those days, but with some changes.

BTW I have still not opened the iPhone SE box! It just doesn't feel right? Plus a 4" screen after the Note 8! Dare I open that box?
Just an update.
I sold the iPhone SE. Bloomin spectacular mobile, always wanted one because its one of my personal favourites in terms of design, I like the square sides. The quality was, as expected, superb and it ran like a dream. Perhaps the most accomplished 4" screen mobile around at present, certainly one of them.
Looked at the iPhone X. The screen for some reason gave me migraine as it does some others? Bought the iPhone 8 plus and though it could NEVER replace my Note 8 as my daily I do like many aspects of the iPhone 8 plus. I only have it to pair with my portable DAC-Amps and paired with Sennheiser HD650 the sound reproduction for a portable set up is hi-fi nirvana.
Not a fan of IOS, its a learning curve I guess. Phone is superbly made as is my Note 8 so now have the two! Very different mobiles both with their positives and negatives. The one big positive with the Note 8 is its completeness, it just does every thing a mini pocket PC can do and on times even better! Its the 'best' mobile I have ever owned.
BTW the Apple forum guys are gals are a very nice community who are very helpful and welcome newbies like me with open arms.
