Hi there! I recently saw how good Sailfish OS became. From the moment I saw it running on an Xperia (Which was designed for Android)I reaaaallly wanted to have it on my J320F.I started digging and saw that it is fairly easy to port..Then,I rememberd that i have Literally 0% Knowledge in Development. So...Can Anyone PLEASE Make a Port of Sailfish OS? :fingers-crossed::good: (Or is it impossible because of the SpreadTrum SoC?)...Or Firefox OS? I dont Know..I just want something else of Android
I would also love to see Sailfish OS ported to this phone, one of the best mobile operating systems I've ever used, I've read the porting guide and it confuses me personally, looks like it'd be possible to do from what we have at the moment, Firefox OS isn't supported any more as I understand it, Ubuntu Touch would be nice though

Agreed.I am pretty sure that it needs to run pretty good on this phone. I would stil be very grateful if anyone can port this :good:
Also,Android on the J320f Became pretty bad for me...RR-Lag,LOS-Bad battery,Stock-Usable,Flyme-Laggy....So yeah..I really want something else(And pretty much all ROMs are LoS Based and it`s pretty bad considering that this phone has a lot of potential. )

I can agree with you there, Sailfish OS is VERY nice on budget phones, actually my last phone was a moto g 2014 running sailfish OS and that was brilliant, I'd be grateful if anyone could port Sailfish

for me Linage is perfectly fine, performance is good as long you as you don't use gapps, battery life is fine wothout gapps, at the moment I use flyme, which is slower than anything else but still fine, but I'd agree sailfish would srill be perfect

Yes, because I would like to have a smooth operating system.
+1 to the idea but i think the problems with backlight should be top priority
Not yet, because many things are not working and for example now you can restart device and use WM for gps. This would not be possible with rom.
But when most things are sorted out, ROM would be a great option.
I agree with you matejdro, android is working okay now but not good enough. A couple of things aren't working which are important to use.
i think before a ROM can even be considered, android needs to be able to recognise all hardware and then it needs to be able to work with all hardware. once android is at this stage, it could then be made into a ROM.
Nice system to use and two xperia one with wm one with Android, but too manny issue yet
Yes, I would very much like to see an Android ROM for the Xperia, for the following reasons:
1. I don't like WinMo that much, and I would be happy to replace it on my Xperia altogether in favor of my favorite OS.
2. It's over a year since I last used the Xperia as my main device, and I mainly use it for experimentation now, so I wouldn't mind an Android ROM even if the port still is a bit buggy.
3. You wouldn't have to launch Haret in order to run it.
4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you launch Android through Haret, it isn't run concurrently with Windows Mobile, right? But still, having a dedicated ROM ought to speed up Android a bit, when it's not launched through WinMo.
5. The internal storage is faster than memory cards, so that would speed up things a bit as well.
I'm really looking forward to an Android ROM, just wish I could do more to help making it
Thanks
Yes, but, it is needed a working screen light/bluetooth/gps/headphones
it is still not working in android.
But, i wouldn't rewrite ROM to android. For me is better to use heater.exe. 2 minutes(just like windows) and android is ready!

thats not true, you could probably make a ROM out of android as it is now, you just wouldnt have windows mobile to fall back on, and your battery would drain instantly!
Yes, but ill wait till all things will be fixed.
Xperia is the perfect phone for android rom.
The disign and construction is thinner and most elegant than any other android phone, even nexus....
I can donate for working rom, and also be an betta tester.

Yeah I would really like to have an Android rom for my Xperia. There are no good phones with qwerty keyboards on Android. Couple of HTC phones have keyboard and Android on them, but their hardware is not impressive at all.
I might be getting a Xperia X10 soon, but it doesn't have a keyboard. I find keyboard is important for me, but there is no point in buying phones like HTC hero as I have X1.
As long as Samsung S pro doesn't comes out I would love have an Android ROM on my X1.
rom instead of windows
it would be nice to see it in reverse, android rom working as main boot and run windows on sd card
so if you need to have gps, or send mms (TP2 you cant) so if you can here I did not say a thing.
anyways whatever is not working and you really really need to use it then boot winmobile.
+1 on beta test. I do not have a gsm carrier, but if selected I will go and buy a prepaid sim or just pay month to month on the new tmobile plan
pm me thanks
but to answer your question why a rom, the battery is a drain huge. and just love to show it to the others "Droid" users, what their device CAN'T

i've been in the android scene for a while now, i've seen a lot of possible ports that are not even tried due to limitational hardware. This won't be an easy job, if it will ever be tried.
Although, i would really like to see it.

Why do you want it? If you want the android look, take any ROM and you ll have it If you want the iTRASHbox look just look for themes of it, or take MIUI, it already looks pretty much like iOS I think.

Apple is good with UI there no arguing there ( some of androids stuff also come from iOS , they're both playing the game)
I still prefer Android's UI and after my exam finished I committed myself to quite a few other projects amongst them porting Flyme OS ( which looks AWESOME ).
If you want to work on porting a ROM or learn to start by learning the basics of android. Cooking, modding, fixing etc. In porting you need programming to fix some bugs and possibly to get it booting. Java is a easy language and has similar syntax to C/C++ and will make it slightly easier to learn later on ( You'll probably need to modify the kernel so you'll need C ) . Python is a really good language to start in since its very simply, straightforward and works on Windows and Linux since it's a interpreted language. ( Its my favorite language )

Today is the day when Ubuntu releases Porting Guide

Hope someone will port it to INC S, as I am not ready yet to go for Nexus, but want to get a look on Ubuntu Touch
I think it is really not necessary to port it yet to the IncS. I've tested it and it's like nothing is working at all. You just see what it will all look like later but it's mostly just images how the app could look like.
It's just everything in reeeeaaally early stage, so the preview is really just to give you a liiiittle look into how it will probably be when it's done. And besides the fact, that almost nothing works it's also laggy as hell. So it's just too early to make sense to port it...

I really hope some wonderful devs port Lollipop G3 ROM to our Device.

We can all become devs if our time allows.. I myself almost complie a cm11 til i find out there is some coding myself to make it work because is unofficial, but little by little im getting to the point that i feel i can contribute to the community, like i said is can be hard if you let it be.. There is alot info, forums and help from google and even cm itself... To start with i mean you have to have some knowledge and never giving up, at least is working for me

I'm gonna help everyone out here. The G3 leak will not make it to our device. All the apps are made to work on that 2k even (i.e all the apps have huge images) every app would have to be decompiled individually and resized to fit our screen. Then they would have to be modded (depends on what needed done) to work on our phone. Way to much work and possibly not even possible with kernel, etc that would need done.
As for support unfortunately we dont have many devs due to just not being a popular device and the locked down boot loader. We lost D-FUSE and justinwidebody to the G3, we do have playfulgod who's okay (definitely joking) and i know mattwheat is working on some stuff. When i get time I'm going to get back to working on my g3 themed ROM (some apps already ported by another user just need tweaked), but sadly I'm far from a dev so I won't be much help with big problems like cm11.
I do recommend everyone just jumping in and doing what they can. I started with small theme changes moved to small mods following guides and eventually released my first ROM in the note 2. You really can learn and we'll need all the help we can plus most people here are pretty helpful if you get stuck.

Definitely hear you loud and clear that's was my first assumption but how would it be possible for the g2 to receive a complete port of the ROM from the G3 that cloudfy came out with the g2 has Noway near a the same specs as the g3. That's something that I thought about but even with that said wouldn't it still be possible to exclude the lg apps and just push out everything that is non compatible for our device. But I am still doing some research and learning along the way don't want to release anything until I have a full understanding of what I'm actually doing.

Looking at Cloudys threads i think it's their stock g2 ROM with the g3 apps ported. I'm saying that because all his ports use the same kernel. If it was really 3 different base ROMs that wouldn't work. I could be confused though and completely wrong. If that's the case then that's what I'm working in for us (or will if i ever get time. It won't be to the level of perfection his it's though. One thing to keep mind if that it's the case is its really hard to port apps from a higher version of android. I never said a full port was impossible, just that i highly doubt it happens. I'm pretty sure playfulgod isn't going to do it. I know I'm not even going to try. Not sure about matt or if there's adev hiding in the wings who may give it a go.

Is anybody here who can port G3 rom to G Flex?? anybody help us.
Kintwofan is right. If you're gonna port it needs to be a like brand, like resolution, like CPU / GPU. Makes it so much easier. Decompiling then recompiling and not finding out till its to late that something had an error when recompiling or when signing can be a ***** to find and or recover from late in the game. Or to find out all together that your hours on hours of hard work was for nothing. The g2 is more on our "like" side.

Plus if you're just wanting lollipop apks on your phone. Most google apks have already updated and if not you can always download the 5.0 gapps extract and replace some don't work but most do. I've done it and use the google launcher. Almost has an aosp feel.

Its easier to port g3 Roms to g2 due to all the the screen size (res folders). Going to our device with lower resolution and bigger screen seems like a lot of work. It would be much easier I think to get the android 5.0 SDK images and build aosp from source or wait on cm-12

Cool sounds like a good place to start but even if we do build a asop ROM wouldn't we need a base to get everything working
