Hello, I have a big problem.
I have installed Lineage OS, no problem for the installation, the ROM works fine, but but I wanted to come back to Android 4.4.2 with the firmware flash. Since that moment, the tablet starts on a BIOS and I can no longer access the Recorvery, I have an updater binary error when I flash firmware with a TWRP session. I deleted /System and Internal Storage to see if I could reflash afterwards, but the damn BIOS is still there.
(By the way, if I leave the tablet plugged into the BIOS, will it load?)
Do you have any solutions, someone would have been there at some point?
I look forward to your answers.

I have a Verizon Galaxy tablet 7 inch the original one. I have had many custom roms on it in the past. Recently I had AOKP on it...I am not sure what build. For some reason my kids were playing with it and it would not boot up. I went into recovery and tried flashing AOKP and it would stay locked up on the boot screen. I eventually tried flashing all ICS roms with no success. I eventually ended up trying to go back to stock. I can get into download mode with and communicate with Heimdall and/or Odin. The problem is that every thing I flash goes into a boot loop. when I go into recovery I get an unable to mount error like E: unable to mount cache and one for kernel and about 6 more. I figure that there is something wrong with the file system so I have used a pit file when I flashed with no success. I am not sure if there is an issue with the file system being the wrong type or if I have to many partitions now. I know that the mount error in recovery is where the problem has to be. If someone could please point me in the right direction. I have been all over these forums.
Thanks,
Leroy
In order to determine if it is file related. Try to do a full wipe right after the Odin.
That is all 3 Wipes (Cache,Dalvik,Data)
Also check all the boxes on the right side of the Odin screen to flash the stock rom.
Well I got a little further now it boots up after 5 minutes and states encryption unsuccessful and asks to reset tablet. There is some threads on this so I will get to trying to resolve this. In fact I just realized this is how everything started off I didn't read the message and powered it down. So it must have started on its own or from the kids playing on the tablet.
Is there any way to determine if your internal memory is shot. It seems like there is a problem mounting my internal memory > emmc?
I'm a complete newbie to android phone modding, and I was really proud of myself when I was able to install the Cyanogen 12.1 and Google Apps onto my Samsung S3 Mini. However, I made the mistake of trying to put my work email on it, which requires that my phone be encrypted. Well, I guess the encryption and rooted phone didn't want to play nice together, so I got the error message that my phone would be factory reset. Boo! Well, it got worse. Instead of a factory reset, my rooted phone now is stuck in what I have now learned is called a bootloop. Basically I turn my phone on, and the Cyanogen start screen (with the text "TEAMWIN") just infinitely flashes on the screen until I pull the battery.
I have tried using Odin 3.07 and cm12.1_golden.nova.20160210.ODIN_TWRP.tar.md5. I do the three button system boot, connect the usb, run Odin, get the phone recognized, and then install the .md5 in the PDA section of Odin. It tells me that it succeeded, but when I restart my phone it's still the same bootloop. I also tried swearing, but that didn't help either.
Has anyone else out there had experience with Cyanogen and this particular error? I would love to get this phone working again... preferably with either a Lollipop version of android or back to Cyanogen 12.1.
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone.
So I've got an update if anyone's interested... I can't call it progress, but it's a different problem now.
I was able to download and use Odin to do what was shown on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122548&highlight=root
Everything worked in Odin, the phone rebooted, and went to the Team Win Recovery Project diagnostics screen, rebooted again, and then to the samsung logo. However, it immediately goes to the "Encryption Failed" error screen, and the only option is to 'reset device'. Of course, doing this just reboots the phone and it then has the Team Win loading screen, Team Win Recovery Project diags screen, Samsung logo, and back to the 'Encryption Failed' screen again. So now I have a new infinite loop to solve. *sigh*
any thoughts?
Have you been able to get into TWRP? If you are, maybe you could wipe everything from there and flash the recovery version of your ROM.
I was able to put the stock bootloader onto the phone using Odin, download the original tar from here: http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=GT-I8190, then used the stock bootloader to install it from the sd card. Everything went fine, but now when I boot the phone it just hangs on the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini GT-i18190 start screen indefinitely. Is this progress, or have I created a new problem now?
You're playing around with heavy stuff. I won't recommend using an upgrade flash (CM over Odin) as an full flash. Please try flashing a stock image.
If you did something wrong to the partitioning, then it's likely to not allow you to do a successfull factory reset. Maybe you can try re-flashing a stock Odin image with PIT repartitioning.
Remember to try to backup the EFS folder, doing that kind of flash might wipe it.
EDIT: Problem is solved. Issue was an old BIOS version. After flashing to 2.02 it does work. Don't know why dual boot was working before though.
Hey guys,
I've got a Teclast X98 Air 3G for repair here which is giving me a hard time. First of all: I flashed tons of those devices already, so I know what I am doing.
So here is the issue:
I am unable to restore dual boot on this C8J6 model, which has been lost after trying to re-install Windows. Usually it is very easy to do this: Restore the Android, afterwards boot the tablet from a WINPE stick along another NTFS stick containing the factory restore image for Windows. Well, exactly this is what does not work. I can flash Android and Android does boot. However, Android is the only thing that boots on this tablet. The dual boot menu does not appear anymore. If in Android I select "boot to Windows" it just reboots to Android. If I boot up with Vol+, it still does only boot to Android. If I select my WINPE stick in the BIOS (boot override), the screen goes black for a short time and then I am back inside the BIOS menu. This also happens with a pure Windows 10 stick that boots flawlessly on any other device.
I tried the following things to fix this but without results:
- Flash Mirek V7 using the entire 64GB storage and then restore the original partition layout
- Flash the official Android 5.0 image
- Flash the originale Android 4.4.4 image the tablet shipped with
None of these procedures brought back the ability to boot any other OS than Android.
Now my last hope is that someone of you guys has an idea on how to get rid of this issue.
Cheers,
Chris
Hello all - Looking to see if anyone can help me with this issue. I ran the Recovery utility from my rooted ME170CX's Droidboot menu. This reverted my tablet back to Android 4.4.2 (it had previously been at a later release which I got through the tablet's System Update utility). Now, when I try to run System Update, the tablet will not download anything and states that my system is up to date. It also lists the last update at 12/31/1969.
I have tried putting the firmware .zip files from Asus's webpage on a SD card and running the Recovery utility again, but it always displays an "Error" screen and reboots (this also happens when I run the Recovery utility without a SD card inserted in the tablet). I have also un-rooted my tablet and still get the above results.
Has anyone else dealt with a scenario like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ive been lurking on this forum for a while but ive finally hit a wall I cant find an answer to
I successfully rooted my tablet using magisk and TWRP about 4 months ago, everything was going great. about 2 months ago my tablet booted up into TWRP and would not get out, no matter what I tried. eventually I fixed it by wiping everything and reflashing stock ROM from ODIN and going through the root process again, not a big deal. cut to 2 days ago, my tablet restarts and boots into TWRP again and wont boot into system, basically seemed like the same as before, until I plugged it into my computer
For some reason, my tablet no longer connects to ODIN or my laptop at all. Ive used the same cable and different device and same usb port and it worked just fine, ODIN picked up the connection and everything. Ive updated and unistalled and reinstalled drivers for all the USB ports and I dont think that is the issue. I even deleted and reinstalled ODIN but still nothing.
I thought maybe there was some setting on the tablet that might be preventing a connection to ODIN, so I wiped the rooted ROM off the tablet (im new to this, dont know if this was a bad idea) and tried again but got nothing. now with a soft bricked tablet I got a micro SD card, put a TWRP flashable version of the ROM onto it and plugged that into the tablet and flashed this new ROM onto the tablet, and that worked from what I can tell (system folder went from like 8mb to 17000 or something) but I still cannot get the tablet to boot into system.
I can access download mode (there appears to be two versions, one where it just says downloading and another where a bunch of text appears on the top left, some of it mentioning ODIN) and all the functions of TWRP, but ODIN does not connect and I cant get it to boot into the system.
TWRP version 3.1.0.1_ashyx
link to the post where I got the stock lite version of the ROM currently flashed to my tablet:

any help would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the wall of text.
Wish I had something useful to add. I'm having the same issue. TWRP 3.4.0.0 and LineageOS. I've had this issue forever. I flash a clean ROM, it works for a week or two, then I come back to it and all I get is recovery.
I can access Odin however.
Usually it takes wiping and installing a ROM to get the device working again, in fact it issue takes several rounds of that. But of course, in all of that I've lost my setup and some files.
Is there an actual solution to this?
On my T810 I'm having TWRP 3.3.1-0 with this ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v6-7-t3979381
plus Magisk and Pico Gapps.
Of course it's only Pie and not Q, but working well.
3.4.4-0 not tested yet.
Once had an issue with black screen, but at that time I was using case with a screen cover.
Since that I've switched to TPU case only covering the back.
No more issues after that, perhaps it was a problem with FlipFlap like on other devices.
