i think u need to do a factory reset
sound like a firmware problem
what firmware are u on

Mine does some blinks when i'm getting in or out of the always on screen display mode, but not everytime. got it in more than 1 rom.

I don't have such issues on my SE.

[/COLOR]Dang it. I'm experiencing the same issue for the past few days with my Global ver. Mi8.
Any solutions?

This
Installed "dark mod" miui theme today and this resulted in a white strobe light screen after the first unlock attempt... No way to stop it's or access anything.
Slight panic since I'd seen threads about this issue and assumed it's hardware problem
Only way to stop it was a forced power off by long press of the power button.
Luckily on next boot the screen was working and I was able to Uninstall the theme again

Just when I was about to go to the service centre today, my phone becomes normal. Not sure why though.
How about you guys phone?

And the problem has reappeared? I have had the same problem and from one day to the next it has been "fixed". I was going to process the guarantee ...

Hi all,
I woke up this morning and my note's screen hasn't been working. I didn't drop it or spill anything on it, it just doesn't turn on. I know the phone is on because i can hear and see the capacitive buttons light up when i touch them. Does this mean i need to replace the Super AMOLED/digitizer unit?
The only thing i can see is the white Samsung logo (very faintly at that) when its booting up.
I found a site that sells replacement units but i don't want to buy it unless i have to.
I need some advice.

Hey thanks for the reply. But i my phone is not even rooted. it was working fine last night.. the only thing i did different was i didn't charge it over night. So i thought at first it was a battery issue. I'm so sad... lol
sounds like the backlight is burnt out... unfortunately this is not something that can be replaced itself... the digitizer/lcd will need replaced. now is the fun part... either find the country your note is made for and mail it to the warranty dept, or have it fixed by a reputable repair shop out of warranty...
No need to have root, to go to stock recovery
Just switch off device, keep holding vol up + Home + Power
when light turns, release power button, but keep holding other two.
If you able to enter in recovery, N can read on screen, means screen is intact.
wipe cache, wipe data
N still error remains, flash Stock ROM

Some serius help needed. Bootloop, stuck, bootloader not working etc..

Hi. To start with I bought a phone from a friend which I knew was faulty but decided to take my chances and try to fix it. He claims he did nothing to the phone but don't know for sure. Phone is in constant bootloop, Goes until splash screen and reboots. Worst yet to come - even bootloader menu restarts on constant basis when i try to get into it. Meaning it goes into bootloader but restarts in few seconds before i can get to factory reset. Computer is not picking up this device but i also don't have any drivers installed but don't even know how to install them with a phone in this state. Is there anything i can do about it? Been with Samsung for the past few years and here is everything completely different so don't know much about adb but am a quick learner and can follow any steps! I can provide picture of bootloader if it would be any helpful.

Send a picture of the bootloader while I find the drivers you need
Seems like battery is completely dead as it only reboots when there is power supply connected, but then it won't turn off (any charging light don't come on, not sure if it should though). Just now i've seen a vodafone logo for a very short second when I connected to pc from charger. But phone rebooted again just after.

edit. downloaded drivers (4.8) but that didn't change anything and windows still doesn't pick up device.
After connecting my one to computer for past 3 hours its started more frequently boot and showing Vodafone menu but still restarts shortly after. Vodafone logo shows on and lights on soft buttons starts flashing like 3 times and than it keeps rebooting. Does it mean anything?

That almost sounds like your POWER button is stuck!! Are you able to completely power off, and it stays off.
I think i know what it is. Power button stuck and keeps restarting device. Although i can feel pressing it, this is what it looks like.

Didn't see your comment but this is exactly how it looks to me. I can't switch off phone and in bootloader it acts like i was pressing power button. Although it operates normally meaning that it can be pressed down. Arranged warranty repair with HTC and they are collecting phone tomorrow.

[Q] htc one won't turn on

so i had this phone for almost a year now, yesterday when the battery is about 30%, it freeze while i was opening a word document and gallery in the background. I pressed the home button a while and it still freeze, then i pressed the power button and the screen goes off.. sadly until now.
i have tried so many combinations of power+volume(up down and both) for more than a minute, but nothing works. it even didnt recognize the hard reset combination damnn, and the trick about light sensor also didnt help. I've tried to charge it, with two different cable on a few socket but the led didnt even work. Im so desperate, if i hit the service center it'll be repaired well but i cant imagine all my data would be erased again (about 2 months earlier i fixed the pink tint issue and lost everything). Should i just wait for a few days and keep trying ?? someone having the same kind of problem ?? help me please...

Probably time to send it for repair, looks like you already have tried everything we are suggesting to do normally.

So you did not learn anything from your last experience? Always backup your data on a regular basis! When something goes wrong, its to late to do a backup. Backing-up once a week is a good practice and in case of a failure of your device, data lost should be minimal.

My One keep restarting and stuck at HTC screen

Hey guys,
So I have had my One more than a year, never root, never install any mod in it, just simple, daily use. It worked well till last night when some weird thing happened:
- At first, the Back, Home and HTC buttons keep flashing along with the screen. When I unlock my screen pass lock and go to the home screen, it showed a notification like "To restart the phone, keep pushing the power button for (x) second" with x is the count down number. After that, the phone is automatically rebooting, then the problem happen again.
- After a few times, I manage to shut it down properly then turn the phone up. As I notice, as long as I doing something with the phone such as calling somebody or checking facebook or simply sliding the home screen, thing is normal. But as I stopped using it, that weird notification pop up again
- The phone keep restarting after that, again and again. Sometime it boot successful, but when Im go to the home screen, the notification shows up and my phone restarts again. As I couldnt turn off my phone, it is drained and out of battery.
- This morning, I put the cable in and try to charge it, and My One now stuck at the first HTC logo screen then restarting and then stuck again. That looping process is drive me crazy. As I try to pull out the cable, the phone is not working (Obviously) since it is out of battery.
- As I hold down Power and Volume down, I can enter bootloader screen. I saw a "locked" banner and cannot navigate through the menu and can not press Fastboot or anything. After 2-3 seconds, the phone is shut down and keep looping.
Long story shot, can anybody tell me how to fix this. As I have a lot of pictures that havent been backed up, I really appreciate if I can keep everything without doing a factory reset. Oddly enough, I cant even do a factory reset since the bootloader is not working.
Please help.
Have you tried a factory reset?
On boot, bottom down n power will take u to fastboot.
You can do a factory reset from there.
HTC sync can save your stuff.

As I mentioned above, I can hardly do anything from that fastboot screen. Up, down and power button is not working as I cannot navigate to recovery or factory reset. Even pushing power button wont do.
When I connect the phone to PC, nothing happen. It is because the phone is out of battery i suppose?
The problem is when I start to charge the phone, it will keep looping. But if I dont, the phone is death and I cant do anything.
I honestly dont know. I suspect you have
Fast boot selected under Settings>power.
You've got to try till you can get into fastboot otherwise send it for repairs.

Because this is exactly the message we usually get when holding the power button for more then 5 sec...
and that would explain the reboot issue
looks like the "power" key is always active
definitively sounds like an hardware issue imo
and your issue is even present in bootloader what confirm that this is an hardware defect.

You'll probably have to send it for repair. Better to contact HTC and see how much it will cost...

Well , you mentioned that the system UI was force closing and then the problem begins .
Try flashing the original Z1 system UI and check if you have problems again

i just replaced all the priv apps and the framework etc, same result, i checked logcat and found some info regarding keyguard.apk and some errors with com.sonymobile.lockscreenwallpaper*
.... i think i found my solution, if anyone else is having the same issue this fixed it for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/themes-apps/mod-keyguard-plus-xperia-blinds-t2935068/page1 .. i believe it was the keyguard apk causing force closes,, i just flashed this file, just in case someone else had the same issue flashing this should fix
the only thing needed from that zip is the keyguard apk. the framework2.jar disables wifi calling if youre on tmobile
