Hi all. I was interested in buying the 8, so wanted to know if there are any known issues. The reason I ask is because I don't have Nokia officially in my country (only present through an official distributor), so probably won't be able to get it fixed or replaced.

Hello everybody,
I'm looking into buying a Kaiser and I came across this offer. The owner explained this:
the phone is still in working order but just lacks some of the better components that are not installed like the tytn 2 as your propably aware supports video calling and hsdpa access my phone does'nt. Also the bluetooth function does'nt work as it should (i can access other phones but when you come to pair the device with another, that does'nt work) You see i originally bought this phone before they were generally available in the shops,on ebay, which i believe came from a seller who worked in a T-mobile store who had access to this particular phone who then promptly sold to me,and that this phone was a " pre production model " hence it not working as you might expect. about the disc that you asked about i never recieved one with this phone. I hope this answers your questions, but as i say the phone is in working order for all other aspects.I believe a re install of windows mobile 6 should resolve these issues. Thanks for your question hope all this helps please do not hesitate to ask anymore subzero1972

He doesn't have any additional info like ROM/Bootloader/SPL. What do you think guys? Can the issues be repaired with just a rom flash? Or should I look for another Kaiser?
I bought a Galaxy Note for my wife from a third party on Amazon. First they sent me an unsealed box, later, I never got my ICS update, and now I found out that the chip is effected by brick bug. I got my refund from amazon (they fulfilled the order). I want to get This from newegg. Can someone please tell me if a. newegg is selling sealed boxes, and b. will I get the ICS update?
Thanks guys.
Availibility of ICS update is not related with the device, but it depends on ROM it has installed. If installed ROM have set CSC to a country, where update is not released then you won't get it. But in that case you can manually update it via Odin.
I have a look on link you mentioned and it is N7000 exactly. And again confirm before placing order that they will supply you N7000 only and not a varient.
Regarding faulty chip, that will be there in almost every galaxy Note.
Thanks for your help. What I meant about ICS is that will this version have US warranty and what ROM do newegg Notes use?
What do you mean by US warranty ? If it is bought from within the US then it should be covered by Samsung US Warranties.
As for the ROM, It will most likely come preloaded with GingerBread, However dependant on your region and carrier there may be an ICS OTA Update as soon as you insert your sim and connect to WiFi.
If not, Just use one of the simple way to get ICS manually, Like ODIN flashable ICS.
I have the german note.from amazon. I dont get ota updates...but i can always updste using samsung kies.on my pc

The seller is not responsible for software updates of your device. That's up to the manufacturer.
The "chip" is not affect by a "brick bug". It is a software issue from Samsung's update.
If you actually bothered to read the phone policy which they throw in your face when you buy the phone off neweggs, you'll note that they explicitly say that there is a very high chance that the box is unsealed for the purposes of replacing power supplies or unlocking the phone. And in fact, they are unsealed (at least the one I got was).
In short, you returned a perfectly good phone due to your own lack of research.
Hi Guys,
Its really frustrating and headache with ZR Bluetooth issues. I have posted the below on Sony official forum regarding the same issue.
I need your valuable advice. Please suggest asap, because Warrantee of my phone is lapsing in 10 Days.
Any Possible solution please:
Shall I try Custom rom?
Shall I give for again replacement?
Shall I downgrade Firmware?
Below is the stuff I posted on Sony Forum. It will give u clear idea.
Code:
I got my Phone's motherboard replaced (God knows with a new one or old) due to the issue of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wasn't working.
First of all, Sony Authorized Customer Centers in India are handled by so illiterate people. They don't know how to handle customer. I don’t know why they are always in hurry with listening properly to customer.
So when I asked for the issue with Wi-Fi and explained her that this can work if I put pressure under NFC it can work. She wasn't at all interested to listen and told Motherboard will be changed.
After 10 days they gave me a new set, I can clearly recognize it was a new out of the box.
So my Bluetooth worked for 10 mins and again its dead.. After two day it again worked 10 mins and again dead...
Wi-Fi is working fine....
So shall I again ask to replace it/motherboard replace/or fix or Whatever the **bleep** they want to do with it.
I feel its worldwide issue with this phone. How promising it will be that it will work even after going to them?
Sony Listen please:
Is it a s/w, driver, ROM issue?
If its S/W issue> release a statement that you can't solve the issue to your all customers and stop producing ZR units
Is it a H/w issue?
If its H/W issue> How WiFi and FM are working fine? Without a glitch?
Clear your thoughts in official statement.
For my phone warrantee is only 10 days to go and after this voila.
So please suggest shall I go with again one more replacement or the solution they will do. But I'm pretty much sure they don't know WHAT EXACTLY THE ISSUE is. Bunch of losers hired by Sony.
And Sony: Lesson learnt.
I will even go for Nokia 1100(if it comes back: P) instead of going any phone with you. I have been frustrated a lot from your junk of electronic piece.
If your authorized member can comment on this thread, a bit of hope to provide?
Thank You,
Urgent suggestions please.
Thank You,

I don't know whether this may sound new to you or not but Xperia ZR can not be repaired.... It can only be replaced with another Xperia ZR from the service center. If someone claims from the service center that they have changed the mother board of your phone then either they are lying or they haven't don **** to your phone. As this phone can only be opened in special environment. As once opened in normal environment, it loses the most important feature. It won't be waterproof anymore. I researched a lot before buying this phone. I have got my phone replaced already. And even my girl friend has this same phone. She also got it changed because of the same WiFi issue....
My suggestion to you would be, visit the service center away from your place. Do find the service center receipt from the last repairs as they may ask for records. Ask them to simply change it....
Relax bro. As I suspect, they didn't even open your phone and simply said they changed the mother board of your phone. This handset would be replaced with a new one.... Do write about your experience.... So that other people from India also get to know about it.... :good: :good: Wish you luck.... :good: :good: :good: :good:
Was living with the Bluetooth issue, postponing the resetting, which was reputed to solve it. 4 days back, got the wifi issue too. Factory reset did not help. Also noticed that sd card did not mount as mass storage device. Since the issue is almost a month after the 230 upgrade and the. 0.20 mb mystery upgrade, any chance that the issues are related to 230 firmware?
Have not yet triedmass storage mode after gactory reset,
Any body with wifi issues tried downgrading from 230? All my upgrades have been through OTA.

MY Bluetooth dont work since a month... Been working on and off for 6 month...
Wifi had assox reject error for a few month but now its solved. Wifi works great, better reception than my xz1... Dunno wth is wrong with this phone, but bluetooth and wifi issue are unrelated.
Found the right spot to excite Wifi works now. Bluetooth is still dead.
Update -- looking inside the backcover, there is a ridge running inside. Thinking of making a washer like round to maintain the pressure on the g spot. Any ideas?

Bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 10 days ago and have noticed a sporadic fault which I have discovered other of Samsung tablets can also suffer from.
The screen will go black and there seems no apparent reason for it though I feel that moving the tablet is the main cause. It can happen at anytime and nothing needs to be open so I doubt it is a app.
I said earlier that movement might be the cause yet I have tried t replicate the fault with little success and the screen will usually come back on after a few seconds. I am concerned it may get worse so feel that I should get it replaced or a refund under our UK consumer law.
I found this elsewhere.

Hi,
Where did you buy it from? Samsung have stores in the uk http://www.samsung.com/uk/storelocator/
You can take it to Samsung and let them repair it or depending where you bought it just send it back to the retailer.
I bought from A O and talking to Samsung via Facebook yesterday they did not seem to be particularly interested even though I suggested that there was a Support Centre in Edinburgh but they would need to be able to find the fault in the first place.

If you've got a problem after only 10 days, I would definitely return or exchange it. I currently own 3 Samsung tablets, including an S2 8.0, and have never seen this problem. I did have a problem on a Tab S 10.5 that would cause the screen to freeze and required the cover to be closed and opened or the power button pushed to unfreeze it.

In the UK normally the first years warranty is with the retailer you bought it from. Contact A O and just let them know it is faulty and you want to return it for a replacement or a refund. If they sound like they don't want to help just remind them about the consumer rights act 2015.

Think you are getting the wrong end of the stick here, I have no doubt A O will replace or refund the the tablet as they have excellent customer service whho I have used in the past. I only approached Samsung and posted here in the hope there was a simple fix.
As it happens and I saw this posted elsewhere, I swapped the case I was using to a Smart Cover for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 from a Folio Case Cover for Galaxy Tab S2 and the issue has seemingly gone away. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I saw this tip posted but it is certainly a strange one.
Sorry about that . Glad you got it sorted :good:
