UK too. I got a response from them earlier......
Regarding your concern, 7-10 days after the delivery of your new device, you will also receive another package that contains an envelope from MTR. Please use this envelope to package your old device and send it off through Royal Mail. Complete instructions on how to do this would be inside the package.

[Q] Samsung Warranty on International Phones

Hi Everyone,
I am from the USA and bought a S3 Mini 6 months ago on Amazon since I needed an unlocked phone for traveling abroad. The phone was working fine but now just will not turn on or charge. There it wasn't dropped or exposed to water. Amazon won't let me return it since it's been over 3 months, the seller also won't let me return it, and Samsung USA is saying they cannot help because it is an international phone and inside the battery case it says it was made in Vietnam. I called Samsung in Vietnam and they said I have to contact Samsung USA.
Does anyone have suggestions on what I should do? I tried contacting Samsung on Twitter and they haven't responded.
Your help is much appreciated!

I can't help you with the warranty, but if you can find another battery you may want to test using that first.
If the battery really really flat, you can try connecting the phone to charger for half a day. Happened to mine once, it did not even display charging.

Note 4 tmo purchasing replacement motherboard

Hi, I finally gave up on trying to keep my note 4 revived but being in almost perfect condition, I made a decision to purchase a replacement motherboard.
Knowing people are trying to unload parts with the same issue, I chose to purchase a new one (as so it says)
After getting the part, I was able to install in about 25 min.
Booted up upgraded to latest firmware...
Ran good for 1 day before issues started!
The moral to the story is buyer beware!!?

I'm over UK for now but my Note 4 was out of warranty it's a Network 3 brand network factory unlocked. I had this same problem as everyone else here ddi : mmc_read fail got to a point where the freezer trick worked but I got fed up and took it to Samsung Service Centre on Friday. Told the the problem ad showed them video footage of the problem. They replace my motherboard with a brand new one and FREE of charge which was a bonus as I was going to break it down and sell it for parts. If there were sign of water damage they would of billed me for the work and new motherboard which is not cheap.. They did it on-site within 90 minutes..
It's always worth a try to go in house and ask..
They check the warranty with their database and not your bill invoice for the device.

Another Battery issue???

Everything was going well with my phone. Went to sleep without plugging in and phone battery completely drained. Note 8 would not charge or turn on. Force reset didn't work either. Had to send it in directly to Samsung (Under Warranty). They advised me it could take 2 weeks to "Fix" & get back... NOT HAPPY!
Anyone else?

Of course you are not happy. Non of us would be. I make zero excuses for Samsung....but....In every brand there will be lemons the point is how well Samsung resolve your problem.
I would have thought that this being the most expensive Samsung mobile ever and considering its only been out a few months I would have expected Samsung to exchange for a new one on the spot. Samsung after sales just sucks.
I hope you get this sorted out. Let us know how you progress.:good:
Ryland :highfive:
Once I had to give my S6 on warranty back to Samsung when USB port stopped working. They told me after a week that I have to pay like 400-600 USD for repair. They didn't even care about warranty. Then I told them that I won't pay for it and after 2 weeks they sent me the phone without fixing it, but USB was working fine again after it came back. I think they sent it to repair anyway cause they thought that I will pay for it and then when I said no they just gave me back a working phone lol. It was supposedly an authorised Samsung Repair Centre.
And for the charging problem. Note8 has a little security thermal diode that checks if everything is okay with the battery. Maybe it fell off due to bad soldering and it just didn't allow Your phone to work. Battery security in Note8 is huge. It's more secure than any other phone. I'm wondering if Tesla cars have same amount of security as Note8 does.
Oh and by the way. Here in my country services suck too. I had to wait for 6 months to get my money back for my smartwatch that died after 3 days.

Samsung took over a month to just issue me another phone. They first gave me an s7. I called them & they told me that "I Authorized the substitute"
Which I certainly did not. How on earth do you accept a $200 phone for a $1000 Phone? I sent it back and they wouldn't give me a Note 8 because, "It was not the original phone that was not working". They told me they couldn't substitute an s7 for a note 8... I was like"WTF!" I original owned a note 8 and I bought it directly from them... I told them to trace the original IME number... Finally got it last week.
Warning: They were not able to fix it! And they wouldn't tell me what the problem was.

Well, that scared me much more!!! :crying:
It's good for you to have a replacement, I don't even have warranty so I'm at my own and my hopes are at the lowest level by now...
I'll update when I can get a report from the repair center.
Why the flaming title of this post? Do you want to initiate a collective histeria as with note 7? Because you mention "another battery issue" just go and claim warranty, these things happen all the time to ALL devices, gadgets, appliances, machines, vehicles, etc, the standard procedure as with any legally acquired item is precisely is to CLAIM warranty! just because you paid for a relative expensive device, it does not mean that all units will be perfect, warranty centers are full of many devices, even many times more expensive than a note 8, every day, car dealers receive cars, and so on, if you have a car, you would know what a REALLY pain is to make a warranty valid, so, think a little before begining to spread flaming concerns about something that is statiscally expected

I agree to disagree...
It's not the first time for me...or the second....or the third....or the fourth. It's on going with many people and many different devices.
True, manufacturers have problems which most of us can tolerate. But, it's like the sexual harassment we have today ... no one will talk about it alone....but collectively.....well, The "Flaming Title" caught your eye...so I did my job. Now, if people have a problem, they can come here to relate.
You no longer need to validate your point... it's taken

Broken display on my Note 8 ?

Hello
From day one my note 8 had this half circle of black at the top right, the black area fits perfect under the front facing camera so I thought it was supposed to be like that.
Now my friend also got a brand new note 8 and his does't have this black area.
...so I have to send mine in to the service center and I will be really pissed if they dont give me a brand new one fast.
Anyone else in this forum that has had the same kind of display problem ?
if yours is over 30 days old, dont count on getting a "new" replacement..you should have reported that as soon as you noticed it
I just purchased a deep sea blue back in NOV and received it on NOV 27th. I noticed on Christmas that I had a stuck pixel(stays on red). I put a claim in on the 26th the month and I have to send it for warranty. Samsung says its a 7 to 10 day turn around plus 2 to 3 business days for shipping. so plan on not having a phone for 10 to 15 days if you don't have a back up device. I just hope they even cover my device, its in pristine condition and should not have any issues this quick. I also have another note 8 that I will be sending back to Samsung as well that has dead/stuck pixels as well that I purchased back in late AUG for pre order. i'll send that one in after I get back my blue note 8. I'm not sure why all these people are having pixels issues. I have owned samsungs for years now and never had one with a pixel issue.
I hope you've not realised it wasn't normal too late, so yeh if it's over 30days they'll most likely fix it or you'll get a refurbished one unfortunately. Wishing you luck.

Hopefully they fix it for you, I read somewhere on here that Samsung only replaces screens with 3 or more dead stuck pixels.

I have read this as well and actually asked Samsung tech support about the multiple pixels having to be defective and they told me that its covered under warranty. but that's like asking a wall from my past experiences with Samsung. Its right around the 30 days of owning the device and after paying almost a $1000 for it, that's pretty crappy business. if I owned the device for almost a year and this issue happened, then I wouldn't quite care as much about it. especially when I have purchased Samsung devices in the past at half the cost and never had any pixel issues present.

I fought with them about sending a new replacement but they wouldn't. It will probably get a replacement display I'm guessing. if they tell me I have to pay a deductible then I'm going to be more aggressive with this.
But they must fix it since its under warranty, the question is .....will I get a brand new one or a replacement.
I do not have any good experience with repaired phones that should be water IP68 certified.

You will most likely get a refurb. But a refurbished device is fixed, tested and recertified. It will still be IP68 water resistant. Its basically as good as condition your current device could be in, minus the defect.

in this case Samsung will be issuing the refurbished/repaired device so it will be tested and certified through Samsung. same process as their new devices. a local repair shop will usually not have it ip68 certified anymore.

Should I return tablet?

Bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 10 days ago and have noticed a sporadic fault which I have discovered other of Samsung tablets can also suffer from.
The screen will go black and there seems no apparent reason for it though I feel that moving the tablet is the main cause. It can happen at anytime and nothing needs to be open so I doubt it is a app.
I said earlier that movement might be the cause yet I have tried t replicate the fault with little success and the screen will usually come back on after a few seconds. I am concerned it may get worse so feel that I should get it replaced or a refund under our UK consumer law.
I found this elsewhere.

Hi,
Where did you buy it from? Samsung have stores in the uk http://www.samsung.com/uk/storelocator/
You can take it to Samsung and let them repair it or depending where you bought it just send it back to the retailer.
I bought from A O and talking to Samsung via Facebook yesterday they did not seem to be particularly interested even though I suggested that there was a Support Centre in Edinburgh but they would need to be able to find the fault in the first place.

If you've got a problem after only 10 days, I would definitely return or exchange it. I currently own 3 Samsung tablets, including an S2 8.0, and have never seen this problem. I did have a problem on a Tab S 10.5 that would cause the screen to freeze and required the cover to be closed and opened or the power button pushed to unfreeze it.

In the UK normally the first years warranty is with the retailer you bought it from. Contact A O and just let them know it is faulty and you want to return it for a replacement or a refund. If they sound like they don't want to help just remind them about the consumer rights act 2015.

Think you are getting the wrong end of the stick here, I have no doubt A O will replace or refund the the tablet as they have excellent customer service whho I have used in the past. I only approached Samsung and posted here in the hope there was a simple fix.
As it happens and I saw this posted elsewhere, I swapped the case I was using to a Smart Cover for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 from a Folio Case Cover for Galaxy Tab S2 and the issue has seemingly gone away. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I saw this tip posted but it is certainly a strange one.
Sorry about that . Glad you got it sorted :good:
