Hi all
I've had my Ignito for almost three weeks. Throughout that time, the battery has never went beyond 70% full charge. I've bought a couple of batteries on ebay and generally only get around 56% charge; despite giving it over 8hours on charge.
I've heard that it could be a ROM software problem?
I'm due to return my PDA back to the provider (o2). However, I'd prefer to entertain fixing the phone myself if it's an easy patch on the ROM.
My question really is, is this a common fault on the phone? If so, is there a patch or some kind easy software upgrade that could solve the problem?
Your help and advice is greatly appreciated!!
Chris.
Hi all,
Firstly, thank you all for providing so many answers to my many noob-questions, even before me asking them! This forum is great.
So, my setup is visible as the first attachment to this post.
Previously, I have had lots of problems with the battery only lasting 5 hours, but I have finally come across a good config of kernel, ROM and apps that have boosted that considerably. Also, I keep WiFi turned off, apps bckground syncing off, GPS off and accounting syncing off. DarkyROM rules!
And, my running services are really few (see second attachment), and I'm getting some really good battery times now (see third and fourth attachment)
And, here is my question to the forum:
I have realised that a) when the battery drops below 50%, AND b) the display is set to time-out at 15 seconds, THEN the phone shuts off, and I can see that the battery seems to have died. Please see the third attachment to this post! Does anyone have an idea what is going on, and how to resolve it?
Thanks so much for any constructive answers!
Mark
Did you try wiping battery stats in recovery mode? You could even try recalibrating. Do a search for "calibrate battery" in XDA forums.
i had the random shut down issue, after i contacted the support center they thought it was a battery app. Do you have any battery monitor apps? If so, uninstall all of them.
For me that didnt solve anything, i had to get a replacement phone. If you are still within your 1 year, i would highly suggest doing the same. Now that i got this new phone my battery life has been amazing. With the original unit it used to be tops 12 hours, now i can get 1.5 days!

sadly, my phone is more than a year
Try these things :
# Replace Battery
OR
# Resoft , reset battery,recalibrate
Try battery calibration or charge it 100% and then flash the rom and see. If this is one not helping you. I think you have to change the battery.
Try Juwe's Smart Edition !

Not the best idea!
This is happening on Juwe's ROM v5.2 JVQ.
I had a freeze after exiting a game called Paradise Island (I get that quite often!) and then I had to press the power key for 9 seconds for the phone to reboot itself.
And, NO, that charging on the graph isn't an actual charging, the battery just recalibrates itself over time. Strange!

what experience do you have with that ROM and would you be willing to post a screen dump of your battery page?
thanks
Hi all,
I'm having problems with the HD7 now, the wifi it's on all the time, can't switch it off, can't switch off the screen with the power button, need to remove the battery.
What I did is I bought recently a extended battery 2100 mAh, Mi Battery experts, not sure if that could be the reason.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

I have the same problem but have the original battery.
I am waiting for this answer.
Its possible it could be a defective battery even though it's new, have you tried putting your old one back in to see if it still does it? maybe exchange the battery for a different one and see it you still have the same problem!
If this was helpful please click the the thank you button!
its not a battery problem i already tryed with 2 new batteryes , same problem !
Just a thought but maybe try and flash a different radio rom to your devise. I was talking to a friend of mine and he said he was having the same kind of issue with his Hd7 and he was gonna reflash his customs rom completely but flashed a new radio first and it took care of the problem!
If you found this helpful please click the thank you button

Hello i tried that a few months ago it solved my problem for about an hour only the problem still exists

My on/off button is getting harder to press, but that was due to the phone falling off my dashboard in the car... Was watching a video and received a call and it vibrated off the dash...
That's the only issue I've been having with it...

Are you using the original charger? I know it might sound funny but some brands are built different. I was using my mother in laws charger, was having same issues, finally bought my own charger and noticed a big difference.
HD7 Problems
This is may be due to higher current density of battery that loads undesired fluctuations in components... so better u go for its required battery support not much more than allowed specifications....
if you have these problems that means that battery corrupted your components or device electronics.... try to cover up with older 1230mAh or 1300mAh battery while giving HOT GUN Treatment... i resolved this problem 100% successfully....
Hi all, I'm very sorry in advance if this is already covered somewhere but I couldn't locate
I have 2 problems - I've had my I9000 for 2 years now. The battery life was very random some days would last the day other times a few hours (same usage) so I got a new battery about 5 months ago. There wasn't any improvement. Now its worse.
I'm lucky to get 2 hours use out of it sometimes it dies as soon as unplugging from charger even though it's at 100%. Sometimes it just dies with no warning with plenty of charge left .. switch back on and batt life down to a few % and all other variants in between
So my first question is - Is this fixable with software changes and if so please direct me with best solution
My other problem is the home button doesn't work anymore or at least I didn't think it did until recently I pressed fairly hard and moved my thumb around and it suddenly worked (have to do this each time now) - after some research I've come to the conclusion that these buttons if any damp/moisture gets underneath it can corrode and my wife uses it in the bath all the time. Understand would be tricky and I'm sure I could pull it off but is it possible to take apart and clean?
Thanks in advance for any assistance possible and again sorry if same issues already posted/answered
What ROM are you on? This behaviour is really weird... What happens if you charge your phone while it is turned off?
To the 2nd question: There are CM9/10 ROMs with touch buttons implemented, so that shouldn't be a too big problem.

Hi and thanks for your reply, currently on (bear with me if not all info needed)
Firmware 2.3.6
baseband I9000BUJV4
Kernal 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVU-CL851880 [email protected] #2
Build GINGERBREAD.BUJVG
Note I did root my phone and used the 'No-frills CPU Control' so see if this would have any effect on battery life but no change
Also there is no difference if charge whilst switched off or on - It has the same temperamental behaviour
Thanks in advance
There are some battery calibration apps in Play Store. Try one of them when your phone is 100% charged. Furthermore I'd recommend flashing a completely new ROM to be sure nothing is left. Then calibrate again.
I'm sorry, I can only give advices since I've never heard or read about that problem before.

There is a thread somewhere about the solution of the home button problem. I'll help you find the thread.
As for the battery, I suggest that you install a new custom ROM. There are lots for your phone, so anything is possible and up to you. You should try flashing, its fun.
EDIT: here's the thread to the he button solution. Apperently its a hardware problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601003

Thanks for all the above advice - I have unfortunatly cracked the Amoled screen :crying:
Wondering if it's worth my time putting it back together ...... Will it still work ?
Thanks again
and the answer is no :crying:

Hi all, I am writing this question to ask for your advice.
My brother have an Xperia Z, model D6603, stock ROM Android 6 Marshmallow. This week the phone suddenly was stuck in a boot loop. Since then I've searched several threads reporting the same problem, but in all of them the devices were not stock. I've thinked of re-flashing a new ROM and in last case the firmware. But what is concerning me and making me wounder is the battery state, which I think can be the cause in this case.
The battery is always in the minimum level, we left the phone charging a whole night but it didn't charged. Because all this I am afraid of re-flashing the phone, it will for sure freeze during the process. The aspect of the battery is not good, see picture:

Do you think this can be a battery problem rather a boot problem? In case is the battery, do you know any way test it?
Thank you all in advance for your time.

Hi all,
I've managed to test the phone with a battery from a Xperia Z3 Mini and the phone booted normally. Problem solved, no need to flash the device. :victory:
Thank you all.
