touch problem after removing shatter proof film

I bought xperia z1 two weeks ago.
Yesterday I removed the shatter proof film front and
back but now I have touch issues with the screen
sometimes not respond and always when touch
some point it touches it two or three times like
when iam browsing and want to go to the previous
page when back button touched it brings me to two
previous page.
Then I knew that the glass isn't oleophobic like the
shatter film.
What's the solution for me??!

maybe theres still some hidden glue left on the screen give it a good clean
to make sure if theres glue left try to breath on it you'll see if theres odd shapes forming from the condensation i remember that it clearly showed the glue when i did on mine

I cleaned the screen many times with piece of cloth and water but the problem stills
Is there some method to clean the display i don't know??

I have the exact same problem after removing the anti shatter film.
Has anyone else noticed this? If yes did one of you put another third-party screen protector on your phone afterwards and did this solve the touch-problems ?

I put screen protector and touching screen is now ooth and slippery
But it's shame to sony to make their phones not oleophobic screen and put cheap film on the phone that gets scratches easily??
Sony wake up how you didn't notice problem like this??! .

I have touch issues every now and then with the shatter proof film on...
Mostly on the lower half of the screen...
Edit= its scratched up too
And BTW does removing it increase the brightness and/or change the hue of the screen(like the yellow hue most ppl get)

I wonder why you remove asf.....

I'm also having these problems, I just removed ASF because it got some pretty nasty scratches from being in my pocket jeans with no other items (I'm still in shock at how easy it gets damaged). I'm also having issues primarily with the soft keys, it goes all crazy and recognizes multiple touches, seems that other parts of the screen are not affected (I tested this particular area of the screen in landscape mode and seems to have this problem in whatever the area is displaying). No oleophobic screen also noticeable, so my search begins for a good screen protector.
It looks quite amazing without the Sony logo though.

What would compel you to take out the factory shatter proof film from Sony?

Scratchs? I also saw people doing this on Dell 40" LED Screen to improve image quality but you risk to damage the Phone or the Display so I don't know how much is it worth.

As the previous reply said, scratches are probably a good motivator. Sony won't replace the ASF film under warranty and since many people have it scratched, they are probably quite tempted to just remove it..

Not to mention the fact that at least according to Sony, the film is supposed to make the touchscreen more sensitive and accurate, and after removing it, it will be too late to put it back.

Because when I look at my screen in my "flagship" 2013 phone I don't like seeing scratches, what is the point in having a device with FullHd Triluminos display etc etc when I can't enjoy it because of Sony's poor quality ASF..personally I don't know how someone thought of this as a standard, but hey I'm no engineer. By the way I applied a screen protector and everything's back to normal.

I for my part removed the ASF because my phone fell around 30cm on the floor, so almost just tickled it, and took such nasty and heavy scratches from it that it was impossible to keep it that way. Also it had a lot of minor scratches from just keeping it in my pocket.
What I can confirm is, that the touch issues are especially in the lower part of the screen. Also it seems like this problem occurs more often if the phone is "cold", for example if I use it outside.
I hope that this will be fixed software-wise through firmware/app (by better calibrating or smth like that) or trough a 3rd party screen protector.

Wow what a strange solution..what made you remove it in the first place? Was there any other change in circumstances that could explain the fix? I'm really interested since the way you explained your problem in the first post was exactly my issue as soon as I removed the ASF.
I'm waiting on 4.3 to even consider removing the screen protector as it cost me a lot of trouble putting it without a single particle of dust/bubbles/alignment. Anyway I live in a place where there's no "winter", it's always hot in here.

Actually it happens more in winter for me... Maybe because of the static electricity I guess... And the Aluminum frame...

Since 4.3 update, touchscreen problem is worse, even with the screen protector it sometimes skips when trying to use Swype keyboard in all situations, with or without case, cold or hot weather, touching the aluminium frame or not..seems to have something to do with oily fingers. Still hoping that a firmware update may correct it.

I do not use swypette but same here, after update the touch screen is worse. I know the sensitivity or the respond of the touch can be modified but at the moment everybody have something else in mind than try to fix this.

64GB model. Dead Pixel on bottom right of edge panel.. Very disappointed

I am a Best Buy employee so should be no issue with getting an exchange. Looks like we have one of the 64GB AT&T ones in stock. Gonna be there bright and early to get mine exchanged.
I would advise everyone to keep an eye out.. I actually didn't notice it this morning. Around 6pm I noticed a black part on the screen and thought it was a glitch, so restarted but it was still there.
The line on the right side is just my temporary screen protector film. LOL. I bought an Invisishield and will install it on my replacement device tomorrow.

Did you go with the regular or HD InvisibleShield? I'm not a big fan of their new alcohol swab method for activating the adhesive on the HD model. I ended up using left over spray from several previous InvisibleShield installs.
When I used the alcohol swab provided, it just left lint embedded in he adhesive and I ended up with a bunch between the glass and the screen protector. I saw it before I even began to squeegee, so I broke out the spray and went old school. Turned out perfect after that.
InvisibleShield really screwed up this new application method because it leaves no room for error.

I did get the HD model. Yeah the swab was horrible. Mine had issues it has some lint on the bottom right corner. Screen is fully visible but slightly cloudy. Good thing I only paid $5 as an employee lol. I'll just buy another.

Actually, your InvisibleShield screen protector doesn't look anything like mine. Mine covers completely to through the curved edges. Is your protector for a different device?

Yeah, thanks for affirming that. I'm pretty sure they did the whole thing as a huge cost saving measure. It damn sure wasn't an improved method to install.
If you compare the savings between the difference in cost for the little plastic liquid spray canisters they provided and the supposed new and improved cheap alcohol swabs, Zagg just made out like a bandit.
Their packaging and marketing keeps getting better and better, but their quality and service keeps getting worse and worse.

No this pic is yesterday morning and is not an invisible shield lol I said I installed after I took the pic. Installed it last night and looks just like yours. How did u do it so perfectly? I think I messed up by not using the squeegee in one motion. I did sections and I think it dried as I was doing it. I have some cloudiness and lint on the bottom. I'll have to get a new one.

I knew as soon as I saw that piece of crap alcohol swap that the new method was flawed. ZAGG has lost their damn minds!!
The whole point behind getting these types of screen protectors on right is to get them and your fingers sprayed down really good. Once both are pretty much soaking, I pinch the protector between my finger and slide off excess fluid which in turn takes the lint/dust with it. Then I spray just a bit more on and apply it. I get it aligned and squeegee. While you are squeegeeing (is that a word?) and you come across a bubble that isn't going away, it isn't a bubble. It's lint/dust. Simply lift the protector at the edge and spray or apply some additional soapy water with your sprayer or fingers and get it out of there. Carefully fold the screen protector back so as to not allow additional lint/dust to get under there while you were dealing with the last one.
I don't try to use the squeegee to get every bubble. I just get most of the water out. Once 90% of it's gone, I work the edges with my fingers and around things like home buttons and camera lenses and sensors.
I guess my point is, even though their new instructions call for the use of the new alcohol swap, the old soapy water trick works perfectly fine. Actually, better.

Looks pretty good to me. If your trying to get it closer to the edge, all I did was continue to work mine while it was still wet. Just a little at a time while I was working the water out from the center of the screen towards the edge.

Got another one and did it again. Lint is gone now but got some micro bubbles. Let's see if it goes away. Not noticeable when screen is on.
Also even with no Zagg. I noticed some screen blemishes. Like it seems cloudy in some parts. I put brightness all the way while I was wiping it down to prepare the Zagg install. It's very noticeable. I may need to get my phone replaced again smh.

That completely sucks to hear about the cloudiness issue. I haven't heard of that one yet. I've heard of the swirls, scratches, and whites appearing yellow issues, but not the cloudiness.
I would lose my mind if I had to take a phone back twice for a screen related issue. It's probably not as big of a deal for you since you can do it while you're at work so to speak, but when your spending a grand on a phone, you just don't expect to have to take it back two times to be replaced.
Switching gears back to the bubbles in the Zagg. If you turn the screen on and they are barely noticeable, but with a slight prism light effect to them, you're fine. They'll dry up and be gone in hours.
If however you turn the screen on and see a shadow, it won't be going away when it's dried.

Yeah the Zagg is good enough for me.
And yeah I can see the cloudiness when scrolling on a white page in Chrome. I really don't want to have to exchange it again but may have to if it is really annoying me over the nextra few days.
It's like gray smudges going diagonally on the glass. I can't tell if its on the actual amoled panel or glass.

Screen lifting

Hi hope someone can offer some advice, I have replaced the screen on my Z3 compact. Screen works fine but it is lifting and not sticking. I have tried different types of tape, I have applied tape to the edge of the screen itself and the frame it's still lifting. Please can someone offer some advice

Consider buying a B-7000 glue, it is used for displays mostly, I was advised by a friend to use it, since my screen has unglued as well, and he has already repaired couple of Z3/Z3c devices with it, and there were no reported lifted screens since than. For the back panel, you can use double sided tape, but adding B-7000 glue on one side (to avoid cracking sounds, depending on the used tape probably). You can do a bit of searching on Youtube for repair videos, I recall watching some with the mentioned B-7000 glue, easy to find.
I haven't done it myself, but I will very soon, dust has filled my front cam, and proximity sensor.

I think B7000 will get the job done. I have used it for my device and it has been a month already, screen and back plate haven't moved a bit, its like new. One thing to remember though, you have to make sure the whole frame is COMPLETELY covered with glue, otherwise it will not be enough to hold the screen. I made a mess at first try, because I missed some spots and the screen lifted on sides, next time though, I've checked 3 times for any empty spots and applied glue to those spots, now everything is perfect. Of course, you should cover frame only, avoid applying that much so that glue is dripping inside the phone itself.

Gooood,ill give it a shot. But i was thinking if must remove back cover and the screen for glue only a corner...the back cover doesnt have any problem, only the display in left corner is unglued. And if i must to remove thats, i must buy and that adezive black or simple use only b7000 ? Thanks

I have some of the B-7000. Stuck the screen down over a week ago appears to be fine. The only issue I have is that I think the glue has squeezed onto the front camera, the camera is now blurred. I don't use the front one so it's not a big problem.

I have used the glue, it's fine, you don't need stickers
You can try applying the glue only in that corner as well, but I'm not sure how well will that fix the issue.
I had to remove the screen anyway to clean the notification led cutout and front camera, so I didn't care for the back plate sticker.

Back glass unsticking

I have had this phone for about 1.5 years now and it held up,it was running very well but it always had an overheating problem,you have probably seen me all over the forums asking how can I lower the temperature of the phone lol.
Well it has become less apparent with the latest build of Lineage,only when I am using Snapchat but that doesn't matter.
But now what started happening is my back glass is unsticking,the bottom part to be exact,I believe this is because the device heated up so much it weakened the adhesive.
So I am asking now with what material I can re-stick the back glass properly since I don't want it to hang like that for no reason.

Use fevibond
You can use fevibond(Synthetic Rubber Base Glue). I used it to stick front screen peeling off from top left corner.

No, that would make it tough/impossible to separate it for repairs.

Nope I wouldn't do that, as super glue is not flexible. I have glued both screen and back glass with B7000 adhesive (most repair shops use it specifically for displays) and it hasn't moved since. That was done some 4 months ago. If you put enough glue on the frame (be careful not to leave empty spots, cover the complete frame with glue), of course avoid dripping of the sides into the frame, I am sure that it won't peel off again, especially the back glass.
I am waiting for new screen to arrive, so I'll have to re-do everything again, of course with B7000.

Never use superglue, it will not last long and will ruin your phone, as superglue's main ingredient disintegrates plastic...
I've also used red 3m tape, does not hold!
Bought B7000 glue, will use it once my new battery arrives, so using useless 3m red tape in the mean time...
-Update-
B7000 Glue works!!!
I heavily flash, test etc. and no matter how hot the phone gets, it's sealed and does not reopen.
I cleaned the surfaces, I applied the glue, and did not care about making a mess (the glue is easily removable for future repairs) and did not care about it oozing out either, just made sure that it covered that border.
I did not use any heat, and it was still cold here.
I then used clothes pegs, 3 on each edge (I was worried about too much pressure, but it was not an issue)
I did not turn my phone on at all, and waited for 48 hours, before removing the pegs then turning it on.
Please note: the z3c is bendable, especially in jeans pockets, I use an anodized bumper to keep it straight. And using tempered glass on both sides is recommended.
***I did however buy a new battery, as my previous battery seemed fat, and I also removed the nfc sticker, but not sure if that is necessary.

Question Whitestone Dome - UV light more or less?

Installed the Whitestone dome and it came out perfect.
Just wondering if it makes any difference to use the curing light more than recommended?
Will too much UV light damage the adhesive or glass?
I've already done a few extra minutes.

I don't understand?

It's fine.
Short wavelength UV can damage your eyes... never look at it. Including the light reflected of objects illuminated by it.
Welder's flash is painful... think sand in your eyes.

The extra uv light will do nothing to the adhesive. The recommended ammount of uv blue light by White Stone is more then enough to make a great fit.

Their switches are cheap so sometimes the diode flickers. Overkill may be the best solution.
I'm not impressed with Whitestone at all. Their customer support is terrible and it's all off shore shipped and "supported". No phone support and rude, slow email support.
A wretched company to deal with, one of the worst.
Been there, done that... to hell with Whitestone.

Does the adhesive become stronger with more exposure time?
Super strong adhesive can be a problem in the future when you try to remove an old tempered glass screen protector.
I've heard horror stories where people have trouble with trying to chisel away at the old adhesive and glass mess. I wonder if their problem was over-curing the adhesive by using the light too long?
I went by the book for exposure curing time, and it was very easy to remove the cracked screen protector - even with a crack in it, I could still easily peel it off because the adhesive was willing to let go.
However, I've never tested this. But it just seems like the time limits are provided for a reason, and are not given in terms of "at least" but rather "for this long".

When it's cured it's cured. The polymerization is done. Under curing however would be an issue.
UV does degrade many materials over time but this isn't near a strong enough source and a few extra minutes is insignificant.
As the polymer adhesive ages it may degrade making removal more difficult than when it was first applied.
Personally I don't like this protector at all. It's a pain from start to finish including removal at times. My stupid cheap easy wet apply urethane screen protector has been on for over 9 months. It's kept the screen from being marred.
It's can be easily removed and is much easier to apply. Only $5 a pop. I still have 3 left because I never thought they be so easy to apply (expected to destroy one) and that even if the application went well it would only last 2 or months. Not.

I have the Whitestone Dome Glass on my s21U and got a chip on it yesterday and tried to take it off. It was a horror show and a large part of it stuck to the middle of the screen. I thought my phone was ruined. I had to take a hot hairdryer which softened the glue and slowly pick bits of it off. This is the first time I've ever had this happen after using many different UV protector on different phones! I did put a new one on but when I take this one off I'll be much more cautious to use a hairdryer and try and remove it all in one piece .

That's nasty.
How long was it on?
99% Isopropyl alcohol be worth a shot but probably be ineffective.
Be real careful when using heat guns. I've used them a lot for electronic assembly and things can heat up quick, too quick.
The display is literally tens of thousands of heat sensitive semiconductors.
My solution is to use a case with slightly raised guards around the whole display. The Zizo Bolt has protected my 10+ very well. The Gorilla IQ Sheild has done the rest to protect the screen. The screen is fairly robust but needs protection from scratches. Urethane does a surprisingly good job at this. It's self healing to a certain extent so it actually looks better after a night's rest in areas of high usage ie the keyboard. Rather strange to observe.

It was only on for 3 weeks. I maybe didn't remove it properly as I just tried to lift it off rather than put some card or something under it and prise it off but as I said, I've never had any problems like that before with UV glue protectors, they always usually easily come off.

The damage may have scored it leaving a weak spot.
Glass is a very strange substance; neither a true solid nor liquid. An amorphous solid.
It can behave in seemingly unpredictable ways. The Pascal's law applies to it. Glazer's can use this to their advantage to cut glass.
