Need help op3t on bootloop after flashing twrp 3.2.3-1 - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

please someone help me! first i flashed twrp 3.2.3-1 and it didn't work and my device booted normally but there was no custom recovery so i tried to flash it again and this time it worked but my device wont boot! i have formatted my phone but still doesn't work. i have a android backup made with adb i dont know if that helps.
My android version: 8.0.0
My OxygenOS version 5.0.6

This is a known bug in TWRP 3.2.3-1, the fix is to downgrade to the working 3.2.3-0 version of TWRP until a working never version of TWRP is released.

TWRP/Stock Recovery can´t install any Rom!

Hello i need help. I was on OOS 4.0. Like to update to 4.0.1 with clean System. So i boot to TWRP and make fullwipe(format:data/system/cache-dalvik cache)
After flash the 4.0.1 twrp says no os install. Ihave test another rom from this side https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/zip-flashable-firmware-modem-t3509015 but no way.
After that i flash stock recovery (fastboot) and stock rom via adb sideload but after 46% the installation failed (3 times).
Sorry for bad english and thanks for all
I read somewhere that TWRP is not compatible with the OSS 4.0 or higher and that's why you get errors when trying to install them. So, to make it work you gotta install the newest and beta version of TWRP...
Here you go, as I already said, it's a beta version, I'm not 100% sure if it'll work...

I installed OSS 4.0 without issues on TWRP 3.0.3.
It sounds more like a bad download to me. Try to redownload the file and flash it again.

Could you install it?
There's a way to flash the 36MB OTA file in TWRP without downloading the full 4.0.1 zip.
I think the OTA fails and gets stuck because of SuperSU or Magisk modifies the boot.img
So, you could try this:
1. Dirty flash the full 4.0 zip
2. Flash 4.0.1
3. Flash SuperSU/Magisk

TWRP can't install partial OTA updates.
It can install full 4.0 ZIP, but AFAIK, it can't install partial updates.

Have you tried reading solutions about the last OTA on other XDA's posts?
I've been reading just to spend time and they have found a lot of solutions to some errors with TWRP

Not really, as I moved to LineageOS.
I just wanted to say that 4.0 worked fine for me , so his error shouldn't be because of that.

Stuck at TWRP screen after updating to 4.0.3

I tried to install the new SU version from their website on TWRP and it still the same.
How to fix this. Please help! Thanks!
Need more info than this. What rom are you coming from, did you clean flash, did you dirty flash, what version of TWRP are you on, did you flash a kernel, if so which one?
Dirty flash with TWRP 3.0.4.1 and last version of SuperSu, no problem.
Do you have the last version of TWRP ?

Still not enough info to help me figure out what you did wrong. Sorry. Could be a bad download. Maybe try downloading again and reflashing the update. Out flash the full ROM.

Qua
Not sure why, but flashing the latest SuperSU from chainfire's site always causes my 3T to get stuck at the boot animation. It doesn't reboot itself, it just endlessly runs the animation. The SuperSU in the OnePlus 3/3T toolkit seems to be a different version (non-systemless?) that has worked much more consistently so far.
One question. Is it possible to upgrade from 4.02 to 4.03 with trwp 3.03.1 without any problems?
I ask because i had a boot problem before while upgrade OTA from 4.01 to 4.02 with twrp 3.03.

How to root oneplus 3t in Oreo beta.

I finally decided to root my oneplus 3t so read some forums to do that. But I got confused with post saying root only when you are on xyz version OOS. So can any body tell these steps are right or not.
1. Backup internal memory as rooting wipe internal memory.
2. Unlock fast boot via fasboot oemunlock
3. Flash recovery
4. Flash supersu.
Can anybody give me links for supersu and recovery which are not having any issues to flash resurrection remix 7.1.1 official.
Thanks.

Rooting does not wipe anything. Unlocking your bootloader does wipe.
Enable Developer Options, go into it and enable OEM Unlocking and also enable Advanced Power Menu. Hold down the power button, select reboot, and select Bootloader. This reboots your to fastboot. This is where you can fastboot oemunlock in order to unlock your bootloader.
You can now flash a recovery. BluSpark works with all versions, including Oreo: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/oneplus-3--3t-cross-device-development/kernel-t3404970
After flashing a recovery, reboot to recovery. You can now flash your root of choice, either SuperSU or Magisk.
Magisk 14.3: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589

If your bootloader is not already unlocked, yes, you will need to do so in order to flash a custom recovery.

Official TWRP has compatibility issues with Oreo currently. Bluspark TWRP works with all versions.
Magisk is a systemless root option. The main benefit of Magisk of SuperSU is that Magisk bypasses SafetyNet, so your device is not seen as insecure by Google, so apps like Netflix and Android Pay work like normal.

1. Flash the full OTA (1+ GB), custom kernel and magisk in TWRP.
2. You wouldn't want to dirty flash OOS over RR. Clean flash full OOS zip, custom kernel and magisk.
3. You won't need Gapps for OOS. If flashing custom ROMs that require Gapps, then you'll pick the Gapps that match Android version and Arm 64.
