I bought my nokia 7 plus in Italy, after 6 month the usb port was broken, like all the nokia 7 plus. I am in Russia so warranty not applied and in the official service here they rejected to change it even if i pay.
So i took it with a random guy and he fixed the port but give it back with the screen looking really bad, really wash out.
I think he changed my screen because checked in the past to see if my screen was Novatek and it wasn't. Now it says the firmware is Novatek v19.
Novatek v19 means is a new Novatek model as the old one was v07, or it had a firmaware update. Can someone in latest android version tell me in system, about phone, if it says novatek v19 or something different in touchpad firmware. Thank you a lot!!

The guy probably cracked your screen when opening up and then sourced a new panel from China.
I just cracked mine and ordered one from China, got the dreaded Novatek V13, poor touch sensitivity, less min brightness and no tap-to-wake.
Had all good with the previous one...
I also have this. Phone was bought in july last year

Hi.
I tried almost every rom, but it seems no one works well with LGD (only with JDI panel)
I need that hardware buttons to work.
Thanks

Well, let's start ruling them out. What I've tried, and doesn't work:
- Lineage OS
- Slimdragons 3
- AOSP CAF
- JDC AOSP
- Discovery
What I've tried that does work:
- MIUI China
- MIUI Global
I need an AOSP/CM based rom, not MIUI

Sadly, you have to wait Xiaomi release the drivers, or use on-screen buttons meanwhile. There is nothing that devs can do without the proprietary drivers :/
does anyone know when it will happen?
maybe never. thanks xiaomi...
There is a thread in miui.com where users are petitioning for the kernel, in case somebody is interested.
Link
but what is thr problem with the panel? because it is working from time to time with low sensitivity?!?

that's it. I'ts almost impossible to handle hardware buttons in LGD panel if you're using a tempered glass.
https://www.change.org/p/xiaomi-release-updated-kernel-source-for-xiaomi-mi-5/
I have Lineage OS April 4th build and hardware buttons works fine for me ( although I prefer to use onscreen ones)
I have nillikin H+ pro tempered glass installed and of course I have a LGD panel.(Mi5 32GB)
I should add this as well, before buying nillikin one I bought cheap tempered glass from ebay and hardware buttons didn't work when I installed it. Also another person I know has mi5 with nillikan glass and his back buttons is less responsive. Maybe it differs from panel to panel as well.

That's good to hear. How functional were the capacitive buttons on your device with earlier versions of LOS? I have the exact same setup, but the buttons wouldn't work at all while I had LOS installed about 2 months ago. I truly hoped they got that fixed, even without the updated kernel source. MIUI is driving me insane.

hey,
Sorry for the late reply. I've been only using the April 4th build so far. So I cannot say anything about the previous versions.
Any news with the latest kernel source release? I've checked xceed kernel bld37, which is supposed to include this release, and it's still not working. Has anybody found a ROM our kernel working?

LGD + cheap tempered glass + RR v5.8.3 + Xceed bld33
It's not so responsive, i sometimes have to press hard but it's totally okay with me.
i have lgd panel too..if anyone experience any custom ROM based on lineage working great on lgd panel?
Hi,
The new owner of Nokia 7 plus here. Its the second day I own a Nokia 7 Plus (Oreo 8.1) and I have a problem with a touchscreen. I noticed that sometimes it soea not recognize when I touch it. It does not matter whether I try harder, sometimes in different part of the screen it captures a touch, but there is no rule where.
Further analysis led me to conclusion that it happens when the device is lying. If it does not recognize the touch and I lift the phone and touch while holding it, everhthing is ok.
Anyone knows whats going on?
Ps. Its not a bad device at all, but it seems that the firmware is rather poor. It's a shame because there is a nieche on the market for reasonable hardware with superior firmware and regular updates.
I had the same problem.after december sicurety patch the problem solved..

It looks like this: https://youtu.be/pF0XCFLdaeo
How to download only security patch and not the Android Pie?
Yes that is it. and must to lock and unlock the screen to work again.
You can't have the security patch without the android pie.
No, I dont have to lock and unlock. Its enough that I lift the phone and it works.
With or without screen protector
How it is important whether with or without screen protector when you can clearly see on the movie that the only thing determining if the screen works is whether the phone is lying flat or is held?
Ps. I have a screen protector. Is it unusual?

I've noticed that some screen protectors can mess with the responsiveness of screens, which is why he's asking, I'm sure.

It's clearly not the protector looking at a recorded video. You can find tons of threads about the screen of Nokia 7 Plus. I've checked and I have Novatek, so it's probably that. I have to say that reading all that makes me sad, that Nokia let's the problem live its own life.

Just out of interest, which Novatek version have you got? You can get it from settings - system - about phone and then the touch panel firmware at the bottom.
I have seen that some have had issues with the V07 version. with low brightness etc. Those with just the 07 version seem to have a better screen.
I have the V07 and I have the same issue mentioned here.
Same here. Novatek V07 version.
Had the same problem. Touch became unresponsive while the phone was lying. Once I touch the metal frame it was okay.. not even lifting it. All was solved when I removed the screen protector. It is like I am using a new phone now
So to update you all: I have asked for a replacement. I got another one with V7 Novatek screen (Firmware 1.017.16). I don't know for sure, but the last one had Firmware 1.017.20. Nevertheless, current device does not have described problem with touch when laying. Of course I cannot go below 16% with brightness, but it does not bother me that much. Apparently, the last one was broken.
Hey guys,
i just bought a used OP3T, i've noticed the devices misses touch while typing, did anyone else experience this? is there a fix?
Device passes the inbuilt screen test from the menu "*#808#"
Using latest stock OOS with magisk.
Could be faulty digitizer, not to uncommon on these devices.

Hello there (General Kenobi)
Just got my brand new Galaxy S20 FE 5G a few days ago but I'm experiencing the touch screen issue. My phone is up to date but I still have the problem. When I have to scroll, the screen doesn't respond at all or thinks it's a tap on the screen and it suddenly goes crazy.
It does only occur on the bottom part of the screen after I unlock my phone from a long period of non use.
I contacted Samsung and they told me to get it to a repair center. But I don't know if this will work and I'm a bit scared that getting it to the center would make things worse.
I saw that Samsung already rolled 3 updates out to fix this problem but I'm still not sure if it is a hardware or a software problem.
Did you guys face this issue? Do you think it is a hardware problem and I should repair it?
It is a good phone and after having left the Pixels because of hardware problem I'm annoyed
*WELL hello there
I get the occasional unwanted zoom in a browser or failure to respond to touch, what you're describing sounds worse than the multitouch issue others have been reporting.
I'd give serious consideration to returning that phone for a replacement or refund. the current reckoning around here seems to be that this phone got a digitizer from a cheaper price range compared to other S20s. what you describe sounds like a faulty digitizer.
is putting up with it for a couple of years not going to bug the crap out of you ?
if they offer only to repair it, accept only a new screen / digitizer / glass swap out.

About the famous multi-touch problem I have to admit that I tried to reproduce it but it only appeared when I was using 5 fingers (instead of 2 in the videos I saw)
I think you're right and I should get it repaired. And I'll see after that if the problem is still here I'll ask for a replacement. I will post an update as soon as I get it back
Thank you!
If you don't mind, could you let us know your phone's hardware revision number? An app called Phone Info *SAM* can show it. People would be interested to know if Samsung has made any hardware changes to the FE line.
Okay guys I'm sorry I couldn't reply before. I had to sent my phone for a repair THREE TIMES ! The first time they didn't do anything but damaged the back of my phone (replacing the screen and the battery) and the problem was still here. The second time they sent my phone back with the battery literally filled (the back of the phone was also damaged due to the battery that had filled).
I got my phone back on last Friday. Seems to be OK. They told me they couldn't reproduce the problem. They just repaired what they did wrong but didn't seem to do anything with the touchscreen.
The phone looks OK. After 1 day of use, the touchscreen seems to be OK but I would like to wait a bit before adding [FIXED] to the title of the topic
Does anyone know if the 2021 version of FE the 4G Snapdragon (g780g I think) has the same problems with ghost touches and jittery scrolling? Can't find info on that anywhere. Deciding between the FE and 8T, but the risk of bad touchscreen is driving me away from it although it's better phone.

I'm sorry I couldn't tell you. I bought my phone around February and it has the problem. This is the 5G variant with Snapdragon 865. I didn't even know there was a 4G variant with Snapdragon (in France, it's either 4G/Exynos or 5G/Snapdragon).
The phone is great though and now my problem seems to be fixed I'm keeping my S20FE over the Pixel 5 even though I'm a Pixel fan.

actually it looks like that's the only issue he didn't have.
That all sounds like an Exynoss version He might be wrong, maybe it is Exy?
Haha I don't feel concerned about the problems that he had because coming from a Pixel 5 some of the problems he had was worse on the P5 (reception, sound quality and the fact that the device can get warm)

Hi guys, I would like to buy the above model but I still have doubts about the ghost touch problem! has it been fixed permanently? I would be able to get it for € 300 new version 4G Snapdragon

I got the new 4g model with SD 865, no issues, tested with the touch screen app tester and 0 problems
I suspect that touch layer has not changed in 4G (2021) model and the issue is masked by a software add-in, because most of my one finger swipe movements are simply interrupted on this model.
No, the problem is still there even after the latest update. I have the 5G Snapdragon model with manufacture date of 10/2020. Samsung refuses to acknowledge the problem when I show them 3 point touch test in screen test app. Multi-touch or on screen hand writing will expose the problem. A few keystrokes are missing pretty much everyday.
