If anyone could help me with this, it would be much appreciated.
I have a Moto X 2014 on Verizon that is unrooted and has a blocked bootloader, with Android 5.1 installed. Is there any way that I would be able to downgrade Android to 5.0 or even 4.4.4? As far as I can tell Verizon makes it impossible to unlock the bootloader so any non-bootloader methods would be preferable.

I'm in your situation. We are screwed up, we can't do that
We have to wait for someone to root our phone.
So I also have stock/non-rooted MX14 from verizon. Wifi and Bluetooth have had problems since upgrading to Lollipop. You would think that VZW could downgrade me to get back to a stable release? I realize they don't want to but again the phone has problems due to their last upgrades...I guess their solution would be for me to buy a new phone.
I just wanted to know will I still have to wait on Sprint for the pie update even though my v40 is sim unlocked

Sim unlock doesn't change the fact that it's still a Sprint device, what i would do is either wait for cross flashing to be a thing and simply flash US Unlocked Pie....or Pay for bootloader unlock, flash TWRP provided by SGCMarkus and run Oreo GSI until a proper Pie GSI base is released that will work on the V40....
Has anyone heard anything from sprint about the pie update

It will pop up here! But if you're set for auto update, you'll probably have your update before they write about it.

"In a couple of weeks (educated guess)" according to Sprint support...
Still no word on when the Sprint v40 is getting pie
Knowing Sprint it'll be when the new android os is released
I just got my V40 today (Sprint model) and it is still on 8.1
Is there a way to flash Pie from another carrier without unlocking the bootloader?
I was able to do this with lgup on the V35 but don't see a way using that method on the v40

Could you explain how you did that? I have an unlocked Sprint V40 that I'm trying to use on Verizon. I downloaded the Verizon KDZ but was unable to flash it with LGUP 1.14.

Ohhh I didn't realize my V40 bootloader has to be unlocked before I can flash anything with LG UP. I think that's what was tripping me up.
Hello -- Noob question for new user of LG V40 ThinQ (I happen to be using a carrier unlocked LM-V405UA / ATT).
I know ATT has released new OTA updates.
In addition, I understand that carrier V40 variants (ATT/Tmobile/etc) prevent use of LG Bridge for updates.
I'm used to HTC world where folks collect and maintain the OTA updates for anyone to use (whether you have SIM or not). Even with bootloader locked, there should be way to deposit OTA on local storage and reboot in some manner where boot process will identify file and load?
Are the LG phones really this "difficult" (aside from bootloader unlock topics)?
thanks
