Battery drain/Overheating since 4.4.2

Hi people,
I have some troubles with my battery life, it drains like madness since 4.2.2 update and the phone seems to overheating, i've first tried with the NUT ROM cause i need root but i've experienced the same problem so i've flashed with a official stock rom 4.2.2 ftf file but i've still have the same problem.
What's going on with this update!
It's really painfull to use it even while it's charging!
Any solution?

Multimedia and Serveur Multimedia, sorry my ROM is in French because i'm French
that's insane that those 2 things take 91% of the battery!
Try to stop the services and clean data to force a new refresh. If you spend your day listening to music or videos than it should be normal but I suspect if it was the case you're not asking for help here.

I gave mine 24 hours and the battery is still draining extremely fast. My battery drainers are Screen 30% and Android OS 20%. Sometimes Screen ended up to 99% even I never use any 3rd launcher or live wallpapers.

Factory reset and wipe contents on SD card, then repair through PC companion. Problem solved.
BTW, google has changed the way things work with KK regarding SD card storage. To solve your problems you need to start off fresh and then let KK sort out the file structure for you. The old way had security risks, its changed now so your folder structure is bad on your SD card. Sort that out, then you will have great battery life (better than Jelly Bean)

Did you restore? If you did then that's your problem. Need to start off clean again. You can use PC companion to restore your images and songs and whatnot (through the media app) but DON'T restore! You're just restoring the same broken file structure all over again!
EDIT: Also did you repair your phone through PCC? That step is important! Because it will install KK properly to your device. I know this sounds like a mission mixed in with a bit of [email protected] Sony rants Blah, Blah, blah.. but trust me it works!
Also you cant blame Sony because this problem is a KK specific issue regarding storage (although this should have been implemented in Android right from Eclair!)
So to break it down:
1) Wipe phone and SD from -> the menu setting
2) Repair phone in PCC
3) Screw your saved games and app data and restore only whats important, eg: music, movies and pictures
4) Boom, done!

Before restoring i have a question, i need the root for some specific app like SCR that why 'im using the NUT ROM, restoring the phone will eras the ROM and i'll lost the root, but did that will solve my problem? I mean i can reflash the NUT ROM again and the problem wont appear?
I've already tried to flash from the official stock ROM and the problem was still here so i REALLY doubt that PCC will solve it...

Maybe a dev can make a fix on the major issues of kk, if no battery issues, its a start!!
I had the same battery drain issue caused by the "mediaserver" process.
I did a factory reset, it went away for a couple of days, and then returned.
When I was about to format my sd card, I realized it was defected, and turned into read-only (I don't know if it was caused by the phone). I couldn't delete anything or format it.
I went and bought a new 64gb microsd card, copied just the music and photos from the old one (without all the android files), and the phone was fine for a day, with normal battery.
Then, after a day, it started draining the battery again, and again because of the "mediaserver" process. I don't know what I can do anymore besides just remove the sd card and remain with the internal memory. This kitkat update is just abysmal. I am highly disappointed with Sony for releasing such a buggy software update.
You might want to try an app called BatteryGuru for Snapdragon. Works quite well.

I've simply disabled high dormancy and that fixed definitively my problem.

ME176CX (K013) - Lollipop Update Issues - Can you revert to KK?

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, I did look but couldn't find anything definitive.
My daughter's ME176CX auto updated to Lollipop a few weeks back. I thought this was great, but now having serious issues, mainly high rate of battery drain (it was brilliant before on KK) and severe audio stuttering on bluetooth speaker.
Have messed about with a few things (dev options for bluetooth logging, power save options...) but can't fix these issues.
Anyone got any good ideas, and is it possible to revert back to KitKat - the tablet was running perfectly before the update!!!
Will a factory reset do this, I think it will not now?
Thanks!

Sorry but no, only asus sav can revert it.
There is actually one very easy trick which will fix all battery issues on our Asus devices - speaking about K013 Memopad 7 and Zenfone 2 too. You just have to factory reset 3 times one after another the device. That's it. You better do this through the bootloader menu. Enter it and perform format user data, then format cache partition. And again and again. Then reboot the system. My Memopad 7 was not charged since Tuesday. Tonight it was 65% left. If you leave it for a week it won't drain more than 50% with WIFI turned ON all the time. Good luck, hope it will help you

I am using stock unrooted device too. Try with combination power+volume down and up and you should see it. Or if you think it's difficult for you just do the following: go to settings - reset to factory defaults. Click on it and the phone will restart and reset to factory settings. Perform the setup without connecting to wifi or your google acoount. Just navigate again to settings- reset to factory. Again setup and then again the whole procedure. After the third time you can put all your details - google and wifi. The device should perform much much better now. It works for me 100%

android play service stopped. Please, help

Hello to all.
I will have a problem on my DROID TURBO BALLISTIC and do not know how to solve it, I hope for your help.
I installed SOAK rom into my XT1254, when it was released.
Installed without difficulty, the phone worked well even with a good battery life; I haven't done wipe.
A few days ago, having noticed that the phone seemed to slow down, so I did wipe data / cache.
Restarting the phone, put my google account through the WiFi connection restores everything.
when I reboot (on every reboot) a message is shown "GOOGLE PLAY SERVICE STOPPED" is UNEXPECTED: a quick look at the log, I think I read that crashes "android.google, vendor.GMS "(I do not remember exactly what was written, but it certainly ends with GMS).
I wipe and another time not load any application. The problem remains.
Someone had? as it solved.
Is there is an official full rom to be loaded and how (sorry for noob question) to reset the phone as if it were fresh out of the factory?
thanks to all
Thank you all
I just got a replacement phone under the screen warranty and have seen the same message. It doesn't really seem to be affecting the operation though.

Is it safe to perform a WIPE CACHE PARTITION on an UNLOCKED HTC One M7? Urgent!

Any advice/suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!
My problem ultimately stems from the fact that my keyboard has somehow been disabled by some errant app, most likely Google's Tap-to-Talk function, a little over a week ago now. Literally out of nowhere. I disabled the general Google App the very day the tap-to-talk function started overriding the HTC Sense keyboard everywhere, and then noticed that neither the keyboard nor the tap-to-talk function were working. I just thought that I could simply restart my phone and any glitch would be removed and my keyboard would return to its normal functioning. I was completely wrong; I haven't been able to use my phone ever since, simply because the keyboard does not come up as usual for me to enter my password, so that since then I've been completely locked out, even though the phone itself is in working order. As far as I know, I don't think that there's any way of overriding the password entry function so that I could simply get into my phone to try to fix the problem that way--but if there is any way, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
Anyway, I have already chatted with a tech from Google Play, and when I saw that nothing worked out down that avenue, I talked with two different HTC support techs. I explained my problem to the last one and said that I would like to perform a Wipe Cache Partition, but as soon as she found out that my phone is Unlocked with S-ON, she said that there's a 50/50 chance my phone could become bricked from performing the cache wipe. She did say that it's all relative to the case, and for some, everything works out fine, while for others, not so much, so she went ahead and created a ticket for me to speak later with the higher-level HTC Developer techs. I have also already visited an actual tech place only to discover that the 2 guys working there primarily specialize in hardware and are unwilling to try any software-related fixes, because of liability issues and probably also because they just haven't got a clue.
My primary concern is losing all the data still stored on my phone, because it is still in working order, and so I feel like I have much more of a chance of somehow retrieving it NOW than if I were to proceed with the cache wipe, have it brick on me, and then be forced to figure something out with a completely broken phone.
So the main question is whether it really is that risky for me to perform a wipe cache partition, because after researching it all over the Internet, I came to the conclusion that it is a safe procedure that should not damage any personal files or information. Now I have found out that is not the case for unlocked phones, which all those tutorial articles fail to mention.
Please, if anyone knows, PLEASE tell me if it would be safe for me to perform this cache wipe on my unlocked phone. But also, if you just have ANY relevant advice to share on this general matter, please let me know.
I have already perused a pretty large quantity of sources all over the net and am growing increasingly worried at the lack of options to get my phone back into working order for me to actually be able to use it again. I decided to turn to this site's forum as a kind of near-last resort, because I am growing pretty panicked and desperate.

Wow
Wiping the cache partition will only wipe...... the cache partition (/cache) and it will be repopulated at the next reboot. There is no reason why your phone shouldn't boot after clearing the cache. There are always some risk but its far from 50% imo.

You've said that your bootloader is already unlocked right? What about booting in a custom recovery and use ADB to pull all your important files to your computer? Or even better if you have a recent TWRP version, you'll see your phone storage from your computer and you'll be able to simply drag and drop your files to your computer.

Strange Issue

So I noticed on Friday every app (Discord/Signal/Twitter/etc) that used WebViewer was crashing and wouldn't open. I traced it down to the Chrome app and disabled the Chrome app on the phone and everything worked. However, I wasn't able to uninstall or install the latest version of Chrome on the phone, even after re-enabling the app. Not a problem I thought, I'll just Restore from a Titanium backup. However when I did it put the phone into a boot loop. Crap, I'll restore from a Nandroid backup. Nope same thing. So I wiped the System/Dalvik/cache and downloaded the full Rom from OnePlus's website and did a fresh Flash. Same thing. If I try to Format the phone all way it freezes on the data and then goes into a dead android state.
Does anyone have any ideas? Preferably I would like to avoid wiping the phone to zero, but if I have to I have to. If it comes to that, does anyone have a good Rom recommendation for just playing games and taking calls?

Suggestions for what?
Unfortunately these signs you described are leading to memory chip failure (sudden death, hang on formatting data).
If you could boot into TWRP, I'd suggest backing data up to your PC, as much as possbile.
You may try your luck with an unbrick tutorial (without or with data wipe).

Yeah TWRP isn't an issue. That I can get into and it is my fault that I should have mentioned that I have already tried the unbrick methods.
I guess I was hoping that it really hadn't fallen to a hardware failure and more along the lines of something I did. I'll be honest in saying that I was really hoping there was a bit of knowldege that I was missing or that somebody would just be like "Nope, I've run into this before. Go in and change this flag from 1 to 0 and do this step you overlooked.".
Either way thank you for your time and responses and many thanks for taking time out to respond back to me.
