After two days later of may security patch it stopped supporting network,it shows the sim card is inserted but no sign of network, tried everything but nothing worked. My device is from Malaysia that's why my country's (Bangladesh) Samsung service center can't help with this problem,and it's not possible for me to go over Malaysia just to fix this, i thought a software update might fix the problem but i got the june and July update, nothing worked, it's been more than two months my phone doesn't support any mobile network,it does support the SIM cards but not mobile network. I used my phone flawlessly like 6 months without facing any problems,it happened suddenly, two months ago

did you pay your bills?
also was it a second hand fone? imei might have been blacklisted.
edit:
call your provider and have your account and device imei check out before venturing any further.
takes 5 or 10 minutes.

It's not second handed, it's actually unofficial phone,but i paid the whole bill, and a lot of people buy these phones, no one ever faced a problem like mine,and i dialed *#0011# and it shows IMEI status is okay,if it's not the right way to check whether my IMEI blacklisted or not then please tell how can i know it's blacklisted, I need to know how to find it out

well he did state that 2 days later after the may patch this happened and not the minute after the patch was applied. logic would be as you put it , the second the phone rebooted after the update the problem would have been apparent... not 2 days later which shows that something else went wrong. i guess the devil is in the details.
now flashing the rom again might indeed fix it or it might not.

if it's a hardware problem then that would mean something in the phone could have gone bad regarding the cellular signal. But that was assuming the phone is a genuine note 9, not an unnofficial one.
You said in a post below that your phone is a counterfeit note 9, correct? Not a genuine Samsung note? Is that what you mean by unnofficial?

Of course it's genuine note 9,by unofficial i meant it was bought from Malaysia and taken back to my country without paying taxes, and that's what we call unofficial,it entered my country without paying taxes cz it didn't come by officially, but it's an original note 9, everything is here in this device as an original device should be

That's enough. You're going off-topic, and not helping the OP at all. If you want to squabble like old ladies fighting over the last packet of oatmeal, then you can take it to private messages.
I'm not cleaning the thread because that would require me to edit each post individually, but I will keep an eye on it, so please just offer your advice to the OP if you can, but keep the arguments out of it.

it makes no sense that the imei would be blacklisted, the phone was already on the network for months. that straight up makes no sense.
as far as the problem showing up right after the update was applied, ican't say for certain thats always going to be the case. For instance, it could have been working fine until OP ran something or did something that caused a malfunction within the system. Like if you ctry to change a setting in phone and that is what breaks the mobile network. i don't know, but what i do know is that if a fresh flash BIA odin does not fix the problem, then you know it is not software related. If you just hardreset, then it could still very well be a software issue because the software could be corrupt. This is why flashing the entire rom through ODIN is my go-to first step, because if ODIN doesn't fix it, then you know the problem is either hardware, or out of your control. like a blacklisted IMIE, or the IMEI was wiped completley, as people have had this happen out of no where as well. Anyways, its all done and its uodated below. feel free to copy/paste and save yourself an hours time if you find the need to walk soemone through odin, *cough*IT_ARCHITECT*cough*

I know it doesn't make any sense, but it's just my thoughts,may it's not related to that issue

My phone still shows IMEI and after dialing *#06# it shows it,and i dialed *#0011# and it shows IMEI status is okay...
I don't think it's IMEI related problem, maybe it's hardware problem, after everything it didn't get changed, still the problem exists
And resetting network settings is like my regular activities,no change...

First, try manually connecting to your carrier. Settings -> Mobile Network -> Network Operators -> Search Networks
That will take a minute and then display a list of carriers networks you can connect to. Choose the one assigned to your SIM and see if that works.

Hi,
I recently rooted my phone so that I can utilise it with a new Appradio2. It was running fine until yesterday when phone calls and texts stopped working all together, though data still works fine.
The phone occasionally pops up with an 'MM #6' error which appears to be caused then the phone IMEI has been locked out. I have been in contact with my phone provider (Giff-Gaff) and they have stated the phone isn't locked out.
My phone details are:
* Model no: C6603
* Android Version 4.1.2
* Baseband version 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110017-11
* Kernel version 3.4.0-g298631f-02021-gc1b7814
* Build number 10.1.A.1.434
The rooted apps I have been playing with are GMG Gesture, Greenify and Pimp My Rom.
I believe I was playing with Pimp My Rom before the issues were caused but I cannot remember what I changed. I also backed the phone up with Titanium Backup before the problem started and restored that backup yet it has not rectified the problem.
My last restort, unless anyone knows how I could resolve this is to return it to it's pre-rooted state and start again.
Any help would be grately appreciated.

Just to update you all, I unrooted and reflashed the phone and the error remained. Since then I've been in contact with the phone supplier (AVTree LTD, via Amazon.co.uk) and they have stated that they have had several complaints regarding phones from the same supplier recently and have forwarded the information onto Suffolk Police to look into. They have also said that they will offer me a full refund and will cover the cost of returning the phone.
Looking on the bright side at least it appears that I didn't do anything to kill the phone. I have also ordered a new one that is now £60 cheaper than the price I bought the last one for.
Thanks for all your help.

The IMEI is a unique electronic identification number to track mobile phones. If your mobile phone has been reported lost or stolen or that the owner has unpaid bills, then the IMEI is probably blacklisted which mean the phone will not be able to connect to almost any carrier in the world (IMEI blacklist is international). Use the tool linked above to check if your IMEI is blacklisted or not. Hopefully it's not... If you bought the phone second hand then there is some chances your IMEI is blacklisted.
EDIT: NVM I tought you were not able to make call even under gsm. I have misread the first post sry. So its probably not blacklisted

is your phone set to auto switch? if I force my phone to "LTE only" i can't get phone calls either
*#*#4636#*#* -> Phone information -> "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto"
if i set that to "LTE only" = no calls
My phone is Set to Auto. with GSM only i have no problems. with other settings it's not working after some minutes
No idea? no One can help?
I had this happen in 3 different instances:
1) Come back to the phone, which was lying on the table, to find that it was restarted. Happened 3 times in 5 minutes.
2) Another time, the phone restarted for no reason - I came back and it was asking for pattern instead of fingerprint because it restarted.
3) In a 20 minute drive, the phone restarted twice, which was announced by the Bluetooth car unit. I stopped each time and verified that the phone actually restarted.
At first, I thought it was me holding the power button wrong and it getting stuck.
But I have tried my best to not push the power button in any weird way, and then it still happened.
Moreover, here's an interesting exchange between, apparently, ZTE and users. Credit to oberio28:
5, sometimes the phone will automatically restart, how is this going?

"I use ATT as as carrier, and I tried several of their sim cards. As soon as I install the card, that Sim slot (1 or 2) truncates its IMEI from 15 to 14 digits, so it thinks that's it's a CDMA sim card. I think this is the reason why I cannot access GSM calling settings such as Call Forwarding. It says "Network or Sim card error."

I use ATT prepaid mine does the same but the last digit is a check, meaning once sim is activated it helps hide your full IMEI. I get 4g LTE and no Voice HD calling, hence it always reverts to 4g/3g in calls. Got to love US carriers.

Thanks. It was explained to me at an ATT store that Voice over LTE was not available for a prepaid plan.
However, can you change Call Forwarding settings (I cannot, and I am not sure what the problem is):
Phone app / ... / Settings / Calling accounts / AT&T / GSM call settings / Call forwarding / Voice
?
Mine gives me reply "Call settings error , Network or SIM card error."

Yeah I get the same error, I don't think it's phone though. My other phone is Poco F1 and its all custom ROM with no LTE bands and it does the same. But both can transmit/receive calls with same sim though...I think its more the network and not being AT&T branded phone.

Thanks. Here's more info that may be relevant.
1) Oneplus 6, global version, doesn't have this problem, that is not being able to set up call forwarding from the phone.
2) Whenever AT&T sim card is inserted into a slot (1 or 2), that slot truncates its IMEI from 15 to 14 digits by removing the last digit.
So, if without the sim card IMEI 1 is XXX...XXX5, it becomes XXX...XXX when the sim card is inserted into slot 1. Same happens to IMEI 2 if the card is inserted into slot 2.

Out of interest... do you have a direct line to the developer team?!
If so, can you give us some info please on what they are working on, if and how we can report bugs or suggestions etc.

I work for Nubia, I'm responsible all international tech support for the nubia product, BUT this is my personal account. What I said with this account is not represent the Nubia company.

Great, thanks Jerry. So do you monitor these forums and report back issues/suggestions to Nubia?
Are we able to ask you questions/make software suggestions to you?

Thanks for trying to help fellow Nubians BTW, the XDA review of RM3 was disastrous, IMO. So unfair. Whoever did that review needs to go back to basic training.

Done.
Hi Xdaers,
I'm not sure for a variety of reasons. I am not able to activate my eSIM with my local network service provider. I followed up, and I was told that the eSIM is blocked, and I have to go to the OEM to unblock the eSIM. which I found very fascinating and interesting at the same time. I want to find out if anyone else has been faced with this issue when activating the eSIM. And how did they get through it?
Spoiler: device specification
Pixel 7 (Factory Unlocked): I am using the local sim from the same service provider, and it's working fine.
Android 13 stable
Feb. Security update
Rooted, with Magisk 25.2
Safety net passed
Hello, I live in Colombia and yesterday I had the same problem. I had my esim working without problems on my p7 and I deleted it to transfer it to another phone and on the other phone I got this same message. Then I tried to put it back on my pixel 7 and I also got the same problem.

Have you been able to fix it? And, if so, have you reported it to your local network provider, and what have their responses been?
Hello, I'm telling you that I was visiting my mobile operator and they generated another qr code for me to download the esim and I take it without problems; I got it working again.
That's exactly (and the only way) to do it.

alright, I will try again.
Happened to me. Your carrier needs to straighten out the Eid on your device. At least that's what Mint told me.

Sounds like you need to have them send you a physical sim card.
Actually nothing's blocked. Your carrier is ignorant.
Phase 1 of 4. Check with your carrier to determine if it's supported before configuring an eSIM. Launch the Settings application. Phase 2 of 4. Touch SIMs. Step 3 of 4: Click Download a SIM rather? Phase 4 of 4. Tap Next, then proceed as directed.

Ask for higher level support. Someone must know what to do. When I first started with VZW years ago I finally was connected to the one person who knew how to activate it. Now they all know but it took a while. Is switching carriers an option? Tell them your OEM unblocked it now it's up to you guys. Eventually they will need to send you a qr code for it to work.

Actually, I requested the eSIM from my provider. They sent an email following the steps with a QR code you just listed to activate my eSIM. I did that, and the end result is the screenshot that I posted. I called to report the issue, and I was told I should check with my OEM, (it happens because the OEM has blocked the eSIM). So I had to post here to find out if anyone is been faced with this issues.

Yes, exactly what I was thinking—I called again and got the same guy. So I will keep trying until I get a different person who will know how to activate it. Also, I'm hoping for a March update and will try again. Something will hopefully be fixed.

There's nothing wrong with the phone so an update will not help. Keep trying.
