I have a Snapdragon Note 9 in the UK. I went to Samsung to ask for a price to repair my screen yesterday. They spoke to me like i'd just walked through the door with an apple product. Another online company also said they can't fix the phone.
Any idea where I can get a new screen repaired on my phone?

dont worry with that guy he wants to force people to think like he does.
he's forcefully "helping"...if you can actually call that help. i think it's more towards helping his own vanity if you ask me.
plus he dosen't read what was just discussed. that's a big no no on xda.

I did not mean samsung uk, or samsung us. because your phone is actually the honk kong variant from China.
I did a quick live chat with the HK samsung support line and while they can fix the phone, everyone i spoke too said you would have to visit the service center..in person, in hong kong , and that is the ONLY option. Samsung US confirmed this. (Its NOT TRUE, KEEP READING) This make's little to no sense that a company like samsung has region locks on repairs. Like i would understand if the parts are not on hand, and i get some parts can be different, but not to the point that a service center in the UK cant fix a HK note.. or even why you can't send your note to HK to get it fixed. absolute madness on samsungs part and another reason why i think this is my last samsung phone. But back to business.
From everything i have seen, the screen is the same for all models, including the SM-N9600, and confirmed by my local service center (i am in the US). The parts for screen repair are identical .
I called samsung UK and they will not touch ANY phone bought outside of the EU. Not even if its an EU model, they have to go by serial/IMIE number in order to start the repair.
MY local service center said they WILL fix the SM-N9600, but the international version is $299 because samsung sets the price. But unfortunatley, you can not send ANY device for mail in repair. This is due to samsung claiming the phone could be damaged before arrival, causing more damage, or cause damage on return. Per samsung, the phone has to be guaranteed in like new condition when given to the customer, and they can not gaurentee that quality if sent by mail, EVEN THOUGH MY AT&T NOTE 9 CAME TO ME NEW, MY F%#$NG MAIL This is a new development that started 2 months ago.
I know that doesn't help you, but i spent way to long on this not to point that out. You would think that the service center in the UK should be following the same guideline. right? But- NO. Samsung UK will not touch ANY PHONE from outside the EU. .
If there was a way to get this fixed by samsung i would have found it, i chatted with samsung HK (phones offline since its 3am), talked with Samsung UK, talked with Samsung US, even talked with service centers from UK and US.
From Everything i have gathered and saw from your posts, i believe that you were given bad information by your local service center, just like Samsung
First off, theres nothing "forceful" about adding a suggestion to try.
Second, Wow, you say im doing it for my "vanity", and in another post you claim im trying to "prove you wrong". Have you ever heard of projection?
Third, you don't even have his model correct, its a SM-N9600 Hong kong/CHINA) NOT US. But its ok i made the same assumption too until i saw his signature in other posts that show its a N9600.
Can you stop taking my advice as personal attacks on you? As if i am simply trying to "one up" you or some ****. If you had given the same suggestion i was thinking of i wouldn't say anything. What is wrong with people like you ant IT_architect? All i did was suggest he send it directly to samsung in SK and BOOM you immediately jump in and talk ****. Its getting OLD and you've been doing it since i first interacted with you months ago.

change the part where i said US to china or even Chile for that matter. it dosent change the fact that the samsung center from region X where the user lives wont touch the device if its from region Y. it needs to be from that same region X .
explantion done
but wait OP and i knew that already before you interfered.

I really appreciate the effort you have gone to over this for me.
It's proved two things. That any official note 9 screen will work and gives me options when shopping around and Samsung are mental when it comes to customer support!
It's certainly put me off having another Samsung!
It doesn't make logical sense to be that bloody minded about it.

Hello All,
First off i would like to say that the galaxy note is the best device i have ever used; it has ruined all other "smaller" devices for me. Every time i look at another phone it just seems too small. Anyways;
I was one of the ones that destroyed my note with the Kernel fiasco. Did a data wipe and that was it. That's not what this thread is about, it’s about being a USA owner of the n7000 and getting it repaired. After reading several threads (especially the epic 4g thread, also do a google search about emmc corruption) about the emmc being destroyed/corrupted. I thought that it would be best to contact Samsung and get the phone repaired, and that's when my real trouble started.
I tried to register my phone on the Samsung.UK website it registered my phone but would not allow me to input my address, and that i needed to contact customer service, ok no problem, called them, looked up my imei number, they found it, everything is good. Basically told them that i messed my phone up (i am actually accepting responsibility for my actions here, i knew the risks when i flashed the kernel!), and i needed to get it repaired. The UK guy said that i would have to ship it to their service center and deal with them. It was a company called Intercity (i think that's the name of it). So gave them a call, and explained that i messed my phone up (was being generic here no specifics), and i needed it repaired as nothing would work and I needed a new motherboard how much would that cost me, then i told her that i was in the USA and needed the shipping information. The person on the phone responded with, that since i was in the USA they could not take my phone, sorry but i needed to contact Samsung USA and see if i could get it repaired there (are you kidding me?). I thought that i smelled bull****, and hung up on her and called Samsung uk back. The rep on the phone there said that intercity was responsible for fixing the phone and that they do not have the correct information, to call them back and tell them you spoke with Samsung and they have to take the phone (this is bull**** as well). Ok whatever, Called Intercity back, they said the same thing as before, they cannot accept a phone from the USA, please call Samsung US. Called Samsung US, basically fought with the guy on the phone, short version is; Samsung US is not equipped to fix a phone from overseas, and they do not have the parts. I asked for a number to the US service center, and they would not give it to me, and repeated that they could not repair the phone that it would have to go back to Samsung UK. They would not sell me the parts either!!
So, its like this, I have a Galaxy note n7000, it needs a new mobo. The emmc, or parts of the emmc is fried. Samsung will not repair the phone since i am in the USA. And there does not appear to be anywhere else where i can get the motherboard.
So the question is, does anyone on this thread have any ideas on how to get around this? I am just curious there has to be a way to get my phone fixed with the correct parts. I was thinking about calling another country (I only speak English) and seeing if that would work but i was wondering if there was a service center that might be able to fix this phone, or at least ship me the parts needed to fix the phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
PS, Samsung pissed me off so bad that on the usa website there is a link to Email the CEO, emailed this story to them to see what happens (i also added that it was due to KIES update.
Bought mine from Amazon USA. The description was unlocked Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (US warranty). Read a bunch of posts here about how there was no such thing as a US warranty, called Amazon asking them to verify and provide the written warranty information. They investigated for about a week, pulled the product page and informed me it was a mistake, there was no warranty. They offered me to return the phone for a refund or take a $100 off what I paid to pay for a third party warranty. I used the rebate to buy a $95 2-year warranty with accident protection from SquareTrade using one of their $30 off coupons. It's still not ideal since SquareTrade charges $90 per claim but at least I have a little peace of mind.
It's really too bad the carriers have such a lock on the US phone market but I guess that's just the way it is until one of us comes up with more lobbying money than the likes of AT&T.
By the way, my Note is an N7000UUBKK2 which multiple posters are saying isn't getting any updates so I guess I'm getting a double wammy.

Maybe if you know someone from the UK? Ship it to them then have them send it to Intercity and once it is repaired, have your friend in the UK send it back to you. If you don't know someone from the UK, maybe someone honest and reputable from the forum who can do it for you and probably pay them some money for their time and trouble (plus pay for all costs associated with getting it repaired such as shipping costs).
Thanks for the feedback. I will ask around and see if anybody I know has family in the UK, and if I can ship it to them. There is definatly no US warranty. Just got off of the phone with Samsung help desk and spoke to a Rep there who said that they cannot repair the phone in the US because of FCC regulations in place, since the n7000 was not approved for use here in the states, they cannot repair it here or make the parts available to purchase. The phone has to go to the place of manufacture. Or go back through the distributor to see if they can help. On Monday going to call the distributor, also see if any of the UK service centers will ship me out the motherboard, I have some emails out now. Going to have to wait and see. Thanks.

Hey liquidj01... hello all!
I´m facing the same problem here, I want to know what finally happened with your phone, did you sent it to the UK? Could you find the motherboard in a different place? How much did it cost to you?
I need some advise here, I don´t know if its worthy to repair it or might be a better option to sell it for parts or something like that.

Well the bottom line here is the phone was ebay'ed as a broken phone. No one that I seen online had a motherboard replacent. It sucks USA owners are SOL. Samsung will not allow us to purchase the replacement parts to fix the phone, nor honor the warranty (this was voided when I flashed the device). The only hope is the distributor you got your phone through may replace it, where I got mine wouldnt. So the only other option would be to sent it to some one in the uk. I currently am on an IPhone I will not own another Samsung device.
I dont understand why you did not ship it to the UK.. all you needed was their address.
FYI The situation is no different with any other electronics...if you purchase a canon camera on the gray market, Canon-USA will not honour the warranty.
It does deserve a sticky though so that us based folks looking for info on the n7000 will know that there is no warranty..

I did not ship it to the uk because the service center would NOT accept a phone from the US, after repeated phone calls to Samsung UK, and the service center (intercity I believe it was). The Intercity person on the phone said something to the effect of "we cannot accept a phone from the US because of the issues they have had with getting phone to and from customs" and that this request came from Samsung UK. The only way would be to ship it to someone you trust in the UK and have them get the phone repaired and then shipped back. That was not an option, since I know no one in the UK, and there was someone willing to be a "phone mule" in the forums there was no way of really knowing that I was going to get the phone back. Also a major factor was not having a phone for weeks. So I sold the broken phone on eBay sold within minutes of posting it and the next day I had a phone. Done deal. At this point I am really upset at Samsung and wouldn't consider going back right now.

I wish I saw your post before you sold your phone on eBay. The mainboard, as well as many other N7000/i9220 parts can be purchased on taobao.com. But you do need to be able to read Chinese in order to communicate with the seller. Here is a link to N7000 mainboard 1800 RMB ($285 US dollars

I just called to Intercity and yes they told me they can replace the motherboard for £160 but only if someone in the UK send the device for me to them.Thank you all for your helpful information!
Does it matter if my note is from Brazil?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
I first called to Samsung USA and when they checked the IMEI number of my device they told me it was a UK version and that just in the UK can perform the repair. You should try to do the same in order to figure out if your Brazilian phone could be repaired in the UK.
Ayone else in the US needing warranty claims for their International Note? I have a problem with internal storage. Seems to be an issue with the ROM built into the motherboard and an issue with the microusb port. I'm planning to contact UK customer support. Anyone else how are planning to deal with warranty claims or have already done so?
My phone got hit by the SDS. I was told that the motherboard needed to be replaced. The estimate in India is about US160. Any ideas of getting it done cheaper?

No, replacing motherboard can only be done by Samsung.
Hi people,
I bought an Xperia Z in Germany and received it 2 weeks ago. Two days later I've seen a single line in the back glass (as I've posted in http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...z-ultra-display-issue-1-t2515293/post52516947). I've done nothing to have that, but as I've read in many experiences, sometimes Sony just says "it's not our fault, it's misuse, you'd have to pay 180 EUR" or so and I think I couldn't do anything about it... And I wouldn't pay it and use it with a TPU covering it (and try to forget it ).
Apart from that, I have at least 3 dead pixels (only visible with the screen black/dark). I've read the Limited Warranty and they say "two pixels are considered acceptable", so I guess they will have to accept and change that.
My question is: provided they are two different problems, in no way connected one to another, if they refused to repair my back glass, would they have an excuse to also say "we won't change your display due to the misuse also"? I guess not, but I never had to sell anything to any warranty before...
And, the second question: I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in Germany they have an official service and I have to send it by post (only the cell phone, no battery or accesories) and pay myself the shipping. They never mentioned anything about the return shipping costs or any additional costs for analysing my phone. There are none, right?
When I ask these things they just ignore them and say "sent it to this address and we'll decide here and let you know"...
Thank you!
Where did you buy it? Your service partner is always the store you bought it at. So if I was you I'd contact the seller.

Hi! Thanks for your answer!
I bought it at BASE, online. That's exactly what I've tried to do since the beginning, but they don't answer. I've sent 3 emails, called, chatted, been to BASE shops, etc etc but they keep ignoring me... If you're from Germany and know where I could go because of that (consumer rights or so?), would be great . I haven't sent it with the "Widerrufsrecht" because I wanted to be sure that they would accept it and take me seriously and not say only "it's your fault, we aren't responsible for that". And now these 2 weeks are already over (I received it on April 25th)
Sony has anwered, though, but I have to pay this costs (and I don't feel it's fair, but I'd like to have it repair in less than 2 weeks, if possible).
Thanks again!

As I said, in this case BASE is your service partner, not Sony. Go to a shop and tell them that you will contact a lawyer if they won't repair / replace it.
Edit: You could try to send an email to this adress:
[email protected]
If you did that, try to find out the email adress or phone number of a manager, you can find their names here:

Yes, I know that, and I really tried to contact them and they are truly unreachable. And the "young girls" in the shops have really no idea of what they say (they even gave me numbers that are "gesperrt"). They say they only sell phones with mobile service and the online shops are something completely different. And they won't take me that seriously as I'm not German. I hadn't expect this here, but apparently some shops are not that serious.
If there is an organisation that protects the client in these cases I would go, of course. But i think keep trying to call BASE is no use (they charge me 0,99 EUR each call only to say nonsense or to make me wait). That's why, if Sony could help (as some people say in the post I wrote in the first message), I'd prefer already to pay 3,8 EUR shipping costs and have it repaired by serious people (and as I really need to have this phone with me again in 2 weeks). But I want to know if they would be max. 3,8 EUR of if I should pay also return shipping or some other charges to get my phone back, repaired or not...
Thanks!
EDIT: Thanks for the additional info! I already sent emails to that and other addresses, but I'll check out that blog and find someone specific.
If they don't respond and you need it soon take the Sony service.
Hi! Sony covered the repair costs .
I just sent the phone with a short description of the two problems (5 dead pixels and the cracked glass) and they repaired the phone and gave it back to me in less than 4 or 5 days. The repair centre here in Germany is w-support
And I contacted Base and asked for the shipping costs (4,5 EUR) and they gave them back in credit for my phone. Not ideal, but not that bad, either.
Thank you!
Just got the device. I had planned on flashing a combination of firmware to enable the fingerprint sensor AND keep T-mobile wifi calling/vo-lte functional before later rooting it. At this point however I have just turned it on to make sure it works and verify wifi calling works.
To my surprise the fingerprint sensor is working out of the box. Can you think of any reason why this would occur?
Obviously I was not surprised at all that i can't seem to enable wifi calling or vo-lte. Does this mean I have an international firmware flashed right out of the box?

Just got the device. I had planned on flashing a combination of firmware to enable the fingerprint sensor AND keep T-mobile wifi calling/vo-lte functional before later rooting it. At this point however I have just turned it on to make sure it works and verify wifi calling works.
To my surprise the fingerprint sensor is working out of the box. Can you think of any reason why this would occur?

Maybe you didn't receive a US device or were sold a used device. Was the box sealed? Was is purchased directly from Amazon and not supplied by a third-party seller? From what I can tell Amazon itself does not seem to be selling those, only selling copies supplied by third-parties.
If box was not sealed, I'd say chances of it being a new phone are unlikely. Maybe like-new refurbished/used. That's very common.
I thought that was odd. The box wasn't sealed. Got it for 399 but it didn't say it was refurbished.
Does this mean battery life will be be garbage? That's my biggest fear with used. I baby my batteries.
I'm gonna reflash the firmware but if I can't get it to work I'm going to have them send me another.
New XZ1 Compact US Warranty/Latin American Firmware
So I checked the seller listing. Claims that it is "new" and "us warranty."
I've contacted Sony to see if they can give me any information on the device. I was hoping I could tell if it was refurbished based on the IMEI but doesn't look like that's possible.
I've reached out to the seller to see what they say and give them the opportunity to make it right.
However I did some digging with the secret phone codes... to find the firmware cda number. I cross referenced it with xperifirm. Turns out it's a generic latin american firmware. I'm trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, but I can't fathom any reason latin american firmware should be present on a new us warrantied device.
I'm going to wait to see what they say. It's killing me because I want to start customizing it.

I think I may have bought from the same seller you have. Did you return the phone or did you do something else? I called Sony too but from what they are telling me if i understood them right, If i change the latin american firmware to US firmware, I might lose my warranty.

Likely you won't have any warranty anyway as it isn't a US based device. Who knows?
I kept it anyway since I can't seem to find a new US device for a good price. I'm not pleased with that company though. I wanted them to send me a guaranteed new model since it came unsealed, with the warranty expiring before a year past my purchase date, and since I talked to sony and named they might have the IMEI logged. But they wanted me to first return the device and then they'd send out a new one. Had that happen too many times and then there is no replacement. What really upset me was that they fully acknowledged they are selling Non-US models but never changed the listing and would not give a discount for the less than authentic product.
I notified Amazon of the fraudulent ad. I doubt it will do anything. Perhaps you should do the same.
My thought about warranty is you could always play dumb with Sony and then the company you bought it from might actually be liable since they sold it as a US warrantied device. I wouldn't hold my breath though. In my case I'm going to unlock the bootloader, root it, etc so the chances of me sending it to Sony are very slim.
Do you ever notice how the manufacturer is always careful to say that you "Might lose your warranty"?
I always interpret that as it is probable that you will be denied a warranty claim until you get really angry with them and only then do you get what you deserve at the expense of your blood pressure rising excessively and causing the support rep to hate his/her job even more.
Eh, I got the same device from an Amazon reseller back in April. It was the Mexican firmware and all I had to do was change the language. FPS worked great out of the box so I didn't complain. The battery still works great to this day, and it was a flawlessly new device when it was delivered.
In late 2017 I flashed an X Compact to the UK firmware when I bought it used last year. Days later a portion of the screen died exactly one week before the warranty ended. I called up Sony to get an RMA # and after going through their diagnostics process all they asked was where I purchased the device from. I just said "Best Buy" and no other questions were asked, they gave me an RMA. I sent them the UK-flashed X Compact, they simply re-flashed it to the US firmware and fixed the screen so it worked like new.
I was pleased Sony didn't try to weasel out of fixing it, even though they could have argued their case. Definitely did NOT have that experience with LG when my US-bought Nexus 5 broke under warranty.

That's a bit annoying. Anyway, I'll report the seller too. I mean the phone looks like it's working great but because of the price, it's kinda annoying me a bit that I paid that price for a non brand new phone. I mean if they refund me a little bit, i think i'd be okay with it. They even emailed me back before I bought it saying that it does have US Warranty.
Also can anyone confirm if I change the firmware to the US firmware that doing that doesn't really remove the warranty? I mean i'm not rooting it or anything yet. Also, if I use like a UK firmware, would T-Mobile VoLTE and Wifi Calling work so that I can keep the fingerprint scanner?

No one here can confirm it, only provide anecdotal evidence. My post above says Sony will still honor the warranty
Well, I have had a SM-N9600 now since around September. I opted for the international version due to it being bootloader unlockable. I have had it unlocked and running on Verizon for months now.
Well today, I went walking in the sun at the track. I used the phone as my GPS, in my pocket the whole time, while taking it out occasionally to check my distance. After I was finished I noticed that the screen looked discolored. I immediately made sure that comfort view was disabled, but the issue persisted. There seems to be a hardware failure of some sort effecting the screen. It looks like major burn in, in a perfect pattern in the middle of the device screen that persists even in recovery. Pictures attached of the screen.
I immediately freaked out and called Samsung to inquire about a repair. They stated that they would not touch the phone even if I payed for the repair. They also basically stated that any of their retailers would not touch it as well. So I spoke to a supervisor to verify. He also stated that they would not help me in any way to get my device repaired due to the fact that it is an international phone. So, even if you ask to pay for the hardware failure, you still cannot get a repair.
I called around to UbreakitIfix locations and they all stated that they would not touch the phone as Samsung owns all of their authorized replacement parts.
If anyone has any information that can help me get an authentic screen replacement please let me know.
Just to clarify, the screen was checked for dead pixels as well as any flaws when it was purchased. This all is from today.
@jal3223
My apologies.
I was in a similar situation before and, literally, was like "Take my damn money!" but Samsung US wouldn't budge.
My first suggestion; start with the Reseller. See what they can do (irregardless if it's been one month or several).
Was it purchased with a credit card? Some credit cards offer extended forms of warranty beyond that of the manufacturer.
There are also several vendors on eBay who perform mail-in repairs. Their range of services/specialties vary. Drop them a line.
You could also sell the device "As-Is" to reclaim a portion of your original cost. It does function albeit the burn-in. You may not get exactly what you paid but at least you have something in your hand towards a replacement.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, that's what I have been contemplating doing as far as the selling as is part. It is 100% in perfect condition besides the new screen issue. I guess I could at least get 4-500 toward a new device (this time with squaretrade).
I sent Samsung of Hong Kong an email about it, so I'll report back if they respond.
I used the Amazon credit card on it. Is anyone familiar with the warranty on those?
Here you are:
https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=16070413011
Middle section of the page.
If you purchased it through Amazon, they too, can be quite quite generous with returns.
As for HK, they have a live chat as well:
https://www.samsung.com/hk_en/support/
It's the start of the business day so you should be able to catch someone.
Seeing as you have purchased a grey import. You would have to contact the retailer, who sold you the device and ask them to repair it.
You should be able to find a 3rd party repair shop, that will replace the display for you, if you look around hard enough. Personally I would contact the retailer and get them to fix it. As they are obligated to repair or replace any faulty products sold.
I wouldn't bother contacting Samsung Hong Kong as it would cost quite a bit to get your device repaired by them.

*Update*
I heard back from the email to the CEO of HK Samsung. He stated that a representative will be getting in touch with me soon. Hopefully that is the case.
I'm curious how this goes. After my screen failed on my n960u1 I didn't dare buy a 9600. Wanted a white 9600 on Verizon but knew if it had screen issues again I couldn't get Samsung to do anything about it on or off warranty. So if they take care of it I'll be surprised

See, I didn't know about the screen issues. I was tempted to buy a new device and to sell this one "as is", but that's before I knew it is a widespread issue. It would be pointless to buy another one because I would be paranoid about it happening again. I was really thinking I could hold on to this device a few years as I hate the new notch trend, but I guess it isn't going to happen. I doubt they will replace it either. One can only hope though. I believe this will be my last Samsung device after owning basically each release over the years. It's a shame of what the company has become with their customer service and blatent disregard of their customers. They were flat out rude to me when I called just for asking them to accept my money for a repair as I know that it is not under warranty in the states. They need to be took down a peg from a competing company.
I guess I could always try myself if all else fails. Has anyone bought from this site? I wonder if it is possible that it really is OEM?

Yeah they have some issues with the screens. I have had/seen a ton of these and they have had from screen crackling issues on press, screen burn in or discoloration. I am shocked Samsung won't fix it though even if you pay for it! That is why I dumped all my notes and went the s10+ route for now. Hope to get a pixel 4 and a note 10 when they come out. Have been very disappointed with the fingerprint sensor so far though on the s10+

Try Louis Rossmann. He fixes everything. Lol
Just a quick Google search will drop you at his website. The dude is a very honest genius.
OP feel for you. But this issue or any other for that matter had and has prevented me from buying a device that doesn't come with a local warranty.

The thing is, I called Samsung before purchase because I have heard in the past that they would not repair them. I explained my concerns to the representative and he said that they would just have to send it to the appropriate location and it would just take a little more time for repair. I mentioned that conversation to the rep the other day and asked if they had a call log or something and he responded "Sir, your more than welcome to send it in, but as soon as they see that it is an international phone they will send it back to you untouched". They are a bunch of jerks over there.

Why not use DHL or FEDEX with a shipping label back to yourself ? it will cost a fair bit but it’s better than third party repair and cheaper ? As you’re paying for you own postage both ways! I can’t see why they would say no? That’s the only way I’m seeing out of this situation?

I have posted in the Samsung forums on this issue. Come check it out and share please.
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Note-9/Screen-Hardware-fault-becoming-more-common-Samsung-refusing-to/m-p/513325#M9187
HI all, unfortunately I had to send my S21 Ultra for warranty repair, in normal circumstances I would not bother writing a post, things can brake but what I have faced today is just shocking.
I have a contract with EE, they offered me that they might fix it, but if I want I can go with Samsung, and they even advised second option which is ok as Samsung knows how to fix their phones, right? Well, not really.
Issue with my phone was quite simple, buzzing vibration motor - hardware issue for sure, as when I pressed the back during vibration the buzzing noise stopped. Not sure what was wrong exactly, maybe faulty motor or something loose etc. It is not a case. I have described it as best as I could on Samsung chat and was happy when DPD collected parcel.
Now is the funny and most important part
In UK there is company called TMT First, and they fix them for Samsung(at least they have done it in my case).
Once they received the phone I received an e-mail with some details and information regarding phone Symptoms, exactly "Symptoms - ON/OFF".
Well... It was strange so I did quick chat with Samsung, and they have assured me that probably that's what engineers put as a description but I should be calm as they have information about vibrations, also they have an access to the chat we had regarding issues. Ok fair enough, maybe battery died before they received it. No problem.
Yesterday received e-mail with information that the phone is fixed, great! Hold down, in e-mail I could notice something similar "Symptoms - Power".
Again another quick chat etc. explanation that phone has been definitely fixed and engineers will not send it back without proper checks, they even provided phone number to contact that company directly, as it was after 5PM they have been closed.
So I rang them up this morning, and the lady said "We did software reset and that's it", I kindly asked what about original issue with vibration motor, has it been fixed/replaced - "vibration motor was not checked".
Seriously Samsung? You have huge company, we pay a lot of money and customer care looks like a rubbish!
I asked the lady, if they still have the phone is there any chance that engineer will check it again against buzzing vibrations etc. explained all again. She said he will, but after checking google reviews they always say that but they do not fix the phones.
Of course Samsung chat/phone customer service are unable to help as "phone will be fully tested before I get it", and if they not fix it I will have to go through that once again.
I came back to Samsung after 8 years, had issues with other devices etc, and never ever seen something like that.
Thankfully EE said if it's still broken after they send it back they will fix it, so keep in mind next time before you send your phone for warranty repair.
Well, well, these kind of things just happen every now and then. Maybe the people at TMT First are overwhelmed (who knows how many repair contracts they have and how many phones they get daily), maybe the engineer in charge had a bad day, there could be a lot of explanations.
The only thing you could and should do is get your phone fixed, give TMT First bad reviews on all relevant platforms and then report your bad experience to Samsung.
Good to hear that nothing has changed regarding Samsung UK warranty and after sales support, still rubbish.
My brother went to one of their Samsung service centers with an issue regarding shut downs. In a nutshell he received his repaired phone back with another defect. Basically after a long process they did nothing to help him. Samsung USA is similar, one just goes round in circles and nothing ever gets done.
Nowadays I usually buy from a reputable reseller and try to solve my issues with them directly.
I hate to say it, but I appreciate amazon's way of doing things (mostly replace or refund).
"Happy" to see that I am not the only one... But I would prefer to make a topic "Samsung UK warranty repair is very good" instead.
According to my case as the device is less than 6 months old I am going to contact EE today as they are the retailer, I have to find out who takes responsibility in this case as I will ask for phone replacement if the repair is unsuccessful. But probably I will have to go EE warranty repair first.
It is really sad, that we customers are treated like that. I thought Samsung is much more relevant in such things. I am not blaming them that something broke down. Those things happens, but for gods sake, we pay so much for those things and when we demand our rights they do not care.
I am going to report it on Samsung members as well - maybe we got much more people with similar issues.
