Viber issue - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

To my Mi9T pro 6/128 with global rom 10.3.2 i have issue with viber duplicate apk.
From the settings / duplicatek apk, open the application, the icon shows up to the 1st screen but when i click to open it shows me a message the license was rejected, on the contrary when I click on the primary application ,then it shows me the 2 options.
i have allowed all the permissions the application is requesting, i have uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing is changing, the message is constantly displayed.
What could be the fault, can anyone help me?

Ring.com doorbell - not receiving notifications

Hi,
I've recently got a Huawei P20 Pro and it's not receiving any ring notifications when someone rings my ring.com doorbell..
I've had a few instances where the notification has come through as it should, but literally 99% of the time i don't receive any notifications at all.
I've ran through all the steps outlined in their guide (How-to-Troubleshoot-Ring-Notification-Issues-for-Android-Devices - i can't link the URL as i'm a new member here) but none of it has made any difference.
I have checked all permissions, notification settings, disabled them, re-enabled them, cleared cache, cleared data, deleted the app, re-installed, set the "App Launch" options to allow to run in the background - all to no avail.
Got another phone (Samsung S7 Edge) set-up to receive the same notifications from the same doorbell - and that's receiving all of them absolutely fine.
My P20 Pro is running EMUI 8.1.0 and Android version 8.1.0.
I've raised a support ticket with Ring.com, but thought i'd also post here - as it seems likely this may be a P20-specific issue..
I have the same problem with Logitech Circle 2 security camera. I'm not getting every notification, but on my HTC U11 it works fine. I think it's some aggressive RAM management or Doze. I've just setteled with the reason beeing early firmware and that Huawei will fix it. A bit of a hassle, but I have never bought a phone at launch and not experienced any bygd yet. No matter if it was HTC, Samsung, Huawei, Sony and so forth.
The ram management is ridiculously aggressive. I have several apps that don't function correctly, despite removing them them from the app launch settings.
Some of them are really annoying, but I have an issue with Outlook on an office365 account not notifying me about really important work stuff.
Go to battery settings, app launch, and set it to manage manually with all the options enabled. You will probably need to do that for a few apps.

Have you disabled the 'Manage automatically' battery option?
Thanks guys.
It looks like it was the App Launch settings. I resolved the issue by performing the following steps;
1) Deleted ring.com app cache
2) Deleted ring.com data
3) Uninstalled ring.com app
4) Re-installed ring.com app
5) Amended the following App Launch battery settings; Settings > Apps & notifications > Apps > Ring > Battery > App Launch > Switched off Manage Automatically and enabled all 3 manual options; Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background
i had the same problem and this worked
I talk to ring support and the are telling me that the app its not fully compatible with android 9.0
I recibe notifications if the app its open. But if the app its fully closed I don't recibe any notifications.
I already try the above solution but no luck.
I have the mate 2o X.
Any one have a work around?
Yes, I tried to the above fix too but it's still doing the same for me. If I open the app up it works for about 2 hours and then just stops working. I've even tried LOCKING the app window so it can't be closed and that won't work either. I had a OnePlus 5T previously and it worked perfectly on that, then i got this phone and it stopped working. My wife's app on her OnePlus 3T works fine. I'm getting really annoyed with it now as it's bloody pointless me having it.
I have a Mate 8, ring app notification would stop coming through not long after setting up the app but nest doorbell app works perfectly, same battery management setting on both apps.
Once battery management has been set, go to apps, apps, click 3 dots top right, special access, battery optimisation, where you see "not allowed" top left, set to "all apps" , now set the apps needed to "not allowed".
tested on huawei mate 20x emui 9.1

[MI 9T Pro] De-bloated Recorder, Notes, Gallery..

Hello fellow XDAers
Yesterday I received my MI9T Pro and I gotta say I'm pretty happy with it (the most annoying thing is the fingerprint scanner not working most of the times but I will try to add better my fingerprint maybe it will work out)
So I started to de-bloat apps via Fastboot and ADB (for some reason the Xiaomi java tool does not work for me, stays in looking for devices and then just freezes), so I searched a few forums and picked a few services that I thought they were unnecessary (like mi cloud, google apps like duo and facebook and some other mi apps), and now I cannot open the Recorder, Notes and also Gallery...
Message is ''Notes keeps stopping''
Again, I read on the packages list and picked on from there, I am pretty sure I didn't deleted things named like that, so I need to install those apps again but I do not know how to do it ONLY via fastboot.
Please help :crying:

Hey, make sure that before using the (Java) tool you have enabled 'Developer Options', you can do that by going to About Phone and then tapping the build number (Miui Version) a few times, then head to additional settings, developer settings and make sure that you have 'USB Debugging' enabled.

Work profile missing in XIAOMI EU

Hi everyone,
I recently updated my mi9 to XIAOMI EU (11.0.5 stable), but I noticed that I'm missing work profile that I used to have before. The sticker on the box says that it was Global Version, but I'm not sure what was rom version.
I used to have work application including Google Play (logged on a different account), and every app I installed from the store had some small icon in the corner of the main icon.
To be precise - I'm NOT talking about the SECOND SPACE. This was workspace with work apps among other apps, and I could find it in the Settings, and I cant now on EU rom. I also had notification that I'm using Work profile while opening the app with the small icon.
What do I do to have this back?
I faced the same issue on custom MIUI ROM, when trying to setup up Island however I discovered that a required component application was missing i.e Work Profile (com.android.managedprovisioning) You can get the application to fix this: Work profile setup
Now everything works as intended

Question Error in accessing media (whatsapp, updates, etc)

Hi,
I have a MI 11 on MIUI 12.5.5.0 Global (RKBEUXM) and sometimes I experience a problem while downloading media in Whatsapp: I get an error like this "Download failed. Download not completed. Try again later".
When the Whatsapp problem happens, I got also an error in Tasker when trying to play a notification sound file. Here I get the error "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Volume external_primary not found".
And when these errors happen I get an error also if I try to update system apps in the Settings MenĂ¹. The error here is a notification with the message "Package Installer. It's impossible to execute the download"
After a while, all these errors disappear and everything works again ... even if I do not understand what changes in the meanwhile.
Even if I'm not sure that there is a correlation I realized that when these errors happens, the Media Storage app runs all the night draining battery because in the battery settings I see that the screen is off but the phone active.
Any idea?
My idea is that there something blocking the access to media.
Any possibile solution? or suggestion?
thanks

Question Notification and Sync issue

Hi there,
Gmail, WhatsApp, Telegram Skype, Google voice and more won't sync automatically and I'm not getting notification until open the apps manually
Motorola X30 Pro RETCN original firmware
My friend look for device shield in your device and there you have some options to enable background services that's an app, pretty sure that is causing your issues.

yes, its device shield stops everything, after allowing for WhatsApp it's working fine
but Gmail, and Telegram do not update until opening and of course some other apps
some apps work fine when allow to run in the background in the device shield and some of them not working
You need to enable and auto restart there as well
I did it too, not working
I'm going a reset factory with LMSAA
also something weird is happening
Sometimes personalize app 0kb data and force close until I do restart phone several times
I found the problem for anyone who has the issue like me
first: Device Shield background running app should be ok
second: The device Shield Auto start app should be on
third: Automatic Battery saver turn on 1 AM - 6 AM, turn off this option, when battery saver is on force close all apps, after the battery saver duration is over apps doesn't sync automatically until opening them by your self
so the problem solved

NO issue for me.
1. Autostart apps from DeviceShield
2. "Allow running in background" for those apps in DeviceShield
3. From the app tray/drawer, press and hold an app (ex. Telegram) and tap on App Info.
Tap Battery and choose "Unrestricted".
