Ok so what I want to achieve is a way to use my previous pixel device that still has unlimited and unmetered full quality back ups for photos.
Is there a simple way to sync specific folders from my pixel 4 to a pixel 3/2 device, preferably using NFC or wifi direct (for fastest possible transfer speeds)
Data usage incurred by transferring the pixel 4's media files to older pixel is not a problem for me.
Extra info that may come into play
I have both devices within 5 metres of each other and the older devices is connected to the pixel 4's hotspot whenever wifi internet is unavailable. And if it is they are connected to the same network.
All accounts on both devices are logged into the same user.
Same Google account logged into both.

So I originally purchased a LG G4.. after a week, the leather back started to wear on the corners.. in addition, it didn't have enough root support on XDA and once rooted, changing the DPI would crash basically every factory installed app on the phone.
One thing's for sure though, it (and about 6 other devices in my house ) had no connectivity issues.
I decided to exchange it for a Galaxy S6.
I was running into very weird random and frequent drop outs in connectivity to the internet. Instagram stopped loading the feed, chrome would give ERR_NAMENOTRESOLVED errors when clicking a link, etc.
I recently sold a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and it had no issues like this.
So I swapped the device at the store thinking it was faulty. I also tried multiple roms and wipes
No resolution.
Once I brought the new device home I was having the exact same issues. My network is comprised of an Apple Airport Extreme in my office and an Airport Express in my living room.
After tweaking with router settings and changing channels on signals, etc, I was still having connection issues to the internet. Wifi would stay connected on the phone, but not reach any website, etc.
To resolve the issue, I finally downloaded DNS changer (root required) and used Google's DNS servers.
So far, I haven't seen the issue arise even once.
My thoughts are that the DNS is causing issues in the S6 when it switches between the 2 different routers. Sometimes I would receive a "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET" message on chrome as well.
Hopefully this helps resolve any issues someone might be having with their "extend a network" setup.

Just kidding. Started running into same issues again.
I did end up fixing by making the Airport Express simply "connect to a wireless network" instead of "extend a wireless network."
While it doesn't extend my wifi anymore, it still provides connection to my xbox one in my living room.
Seems that the S6 doesn't like switching between routers on an extended network.

I have the Note 9 US unlocked version. When I try to use apps they will often say I don't have a network connection even when I have full WiFi coverage, or 4g coverage. I've never had this issue with prior phones. It often just lasts a few seconds and then goes away but happens again when I open these apps later in the day. I notice it most on media apps that give the popup warnings such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Spotify. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this or what could cause this? I emailed Samsung and they blamed the app makers as a scapegoat.
did you make any changes to the phone, disabled services etc?
Hi,
I've been using Note 8 for a while and it's always been a great phone.
Recently, I'd started sharing my mobile data internet using 'Mobile Hotspot' and 3-4 devices (mobiles and tablets) connect to it from home.
I'd like to know if there is an app that can monitor how much data is used by each device? I can see all the connected devices from my phone and it also shows the mac address and IP of each. But it doesn't show how much data is used by each device. I tried a quick search in play store and there are a few that only shows how much data was used through hotspot overall, but not anything further. I want an app that gives data amount used by each connected device and if it can give as much information about each device.
Also, is there any way to hide the 'Android System' badge from lock screen or pull down menu where it says "2 devices connected".
Thanks.
Bump ... no app as such so far?
If you pull down the notification shade and take a look at the option you should be able to see the name of the devices connected to your HotSpot.
Hi, I am getting a new Pixel 5 and had unlimited wifi tethering setup on my current device, an Razer Phone 2, and I had lost the method I used before for this but was trying to figure out if it'd work with the Pixel 5. Does anyone know of a method of setting up unlimited wifi tethering on the Pixel 5 while keeping it undercover? This is for AT&T.

Try this. But you need to have root.
PDAnet + FoxFi
Not sure if these are working in Android 11, but this is what I always use.

Did you ever find a solution.I would like to know.
Hi, so I am trying to live stream using PdaNet+, the full version, while playing video games and I am successful at doing it and the stream turns out fine. However, every now and again when I'm playing an online game, PdaNet+ will occasionally disconnect and reconnect, and then I get booted out of my online game and the live stream stops. It seems like PdaNet+ is intentionally disconnecting the connection as if it's being overloaded or something. I have a network capable enough of being able to actually livestream and play games but PdaNet+ won't allow me to.
I have been using pdanet+ for tethering my laptop and i use a lot of data. Pdanet resets the connection every 2gb of data. Maybe That's what you are seeing

Hmm, I was not aware of that. And it very well could be, I use A LOT of data every day so it's possible that the uploading just hits the limit and it resets. Is there a workaround so I can verify this is the issue?
I
do not know about any workaround. I don't stream so doesn't affect me that bad. But I noticed that not all phones can handle that load. Pixel 5 seems decent. Oneplus 6T was the worst, disconnect every 30 seconds or so. Best was Razer 2. Uninterrupted connection for hours.

Yeah, I originally had a Razer 2 and that worked flawlessly. Now I have a Pixel 5 and it can handle it somewhat alright it's just a matter of the streaming that causes it to disconnect and reconnect every so often.
