Charging issue as loads have but no QI - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

The nokia 7 plus has a charging issue like loads of you.
So i bought a qi, but seems that Nokia disabled that
Anyone a clue how to activate?
"The Nokia 6 and 7 Plus don't support wireless charging, additionally, they have a metal back so we recommend you to not try to charge it that way."
Thats weird regarding to the port issues Nokia creates itself

[Q]Problems with samsung Qi Charger

Hi everyone
I bought myself two Samsung wireless chargers (double pack) and tried them with the original Samsung S6 edge quick charger, with my old Sgs2 charger cable and with a cheap no name charger cable.
With all setups I have the same problem: almost every night at some point the qi charger starts blinking an stops charging. Both of them do. I do not know if it has anything to do with receiving messages or high cpu loads (when syncing/backup apps kick in at night) but this is really annoying.
I am not using any case or anything. Pure S6 edge. Right side up.
Does anybody have any idea? I mean, shouldn't it work properly?
Mine does that too with my Note 5. When I take it off it keeps blinking blue until I disconnect the cable. Seems like those chargers are not that good.
The only way I can Wireless Charge mine is using the Fast Charger that came with it. Using any other charger in the QI charger does not seem to work.
I have the same problem, i'm using the wall charger and cable that came with my phone, same problem at some random point the wireless charger starts blinking and stops charging, i think the problem its in the cable cause i move the cable around a bit and starts charging again, the weird part it's that this does not happens when i charge the phone directly from the cable.
will be sending mine back. really poor product. unusual for samsung
no idea how this made number one qi charger on amazon. completely unreliable
I bought a qi charger from ebay and i had the same problem with you, while was charging was disconnected. Finally i use my s6 edge stock charger and cable i connected it with the chinese charger and all perfect.. I send message to ebay seller with this problem and his gave me back partial refund...
I'm solved that issue with a blackberry cable.
Using standard plug and cable for my qi charger and when I put my s6 edge on have no problems at all strange how some do and some don't get it
tried cheap chinese cable, tried original samsung slow charging cable and tried the original fast charging cable that came with the s6 edge. all showed the same behaviour. i bought the double pack so got two qi chargers and both behaved the same.
maybe it is a software thing?
whatever it is, it renders the wireless charging capability useless

Yea mine did that to so I purchased DreamQi Wireless Charging Dual Alarm Clock w/ Bluetooth by VoltNow and just let it charge overnight with no problems. Its not fast charging but my S6 edge charges from 0 to 100 in about 1.5 hours with no charging issues when I have a notification or its fully charged.
wireless charger
I tried the Samsung flat round wireless, didn't work most of the time, exchanged it for the Tylt slanted upright, works flawlessly every time.

Android Auto works great after changing phones

One of the main reasons I bought my 2015 Hyundai Sonata was because of the availability of Android Auto. I really looked forward to having this capability. It didn't take me long after owning it to be extremely disappointed. The interface was very sluggish, I would have trouble connecting it often, I would constantly get a messages that said "phone not responding" and my phone would not maintain a charge (in fact it would lose battery) while using Android Auto.
My phone was the LG G4.
I started having other problems with the G4 recently and so I finally gave up on it and bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 5. I have to say that Android Auto is everything that I hoped it would be now. Same car, same cable and Android Auto is fast, the connection has been foolproof and the battery actually charges while I'm using it. I apologize to Hyundai and Google if I ever complained about the car or Android Auto being the problem.
that's interesting to hear. Normally people complain about Samsung. As an avid Samsung user, I'm glad to hear this if I decide to move to AA.
The power problem comes from the fact hyundai doesn't provide a 2A charge. Only 500ma usb standard. So you have to get a Y cable and plug the power connector into a better charger.

Fast Wireless Charging pad stopped working

All of sudden my Samsung Fast Wireless Charging pad is not working at all for my S7 Edge? I've tried 2 OEM cables, and nothing. A different cable, and still nothing. Could it be a software problem? Could there have been any apps I might've disabled that allowed the fast charger to work? All the fast charging options are set to ON in settings, but nothing is working. No lights, nothing? Need help thanx.

I know it sounds like the obvious, but did you try a different adopter . I am having no issues and have the latest updates
yes I have tried 3 different adapters. 2 fast charging and 1 regular.
Do you have any other device that is capable of wireless charging? It doesn't have to be fast charge capable but that's where i would start to see if its the phone or the actual charger.
If not then go somewhere that has wireless chargers out, like best buy or your carrier and set your phone on it to see if it starts charging. If it doesn't start charging then it might be your phone.
Its most likely the wireless charger that having the issue though, and you can contact Samsung support on twitter @samungSupport and they should be able to help you out.
So I tried Samsung's twitter support. And apparently the Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935) isn't compatible with that fast charging pad. Although it worked for a couple weeks. So weird.
I just exchanged my note 7 for S7 edge and looking into buying this fast wireless charging pad https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE, it's not this one that stopped working or is it?
Hey, do the downgrade to PE1 with full wip, and put 100%, your working fast charging. Good luck. To me it helped.
Is there another phone you can try on your charging pad, or another pad you can try? The most likely answer is that the charging pad has failed.
Samsung Wireless Qi Fast Charger
I really like to purchase the Samsung Fast Qi fast wireless charger
but I have a few questions about it before I buy one.
#1: How much slower is the fast wireless Qi charger when compared to
the samsung fast usb charger which comes with the phone?
#2: Does the phone get hot or very warm when it's charging wirelessly?
#3: Does the phone charge slower when it has a case on it?
Thanks in advance,
Have a great day!

Wireless Charging Stopped Working

Wireless charging on my bundled Wireless Charging Convertible pad stopped working yesterday and I haven't been able to get it to function again. Starting yesterday morning, the charger pad wouldn't recognize the phone at all, case off. After playing around for a while, including clearing the cache from Recovery, I can get the charger to recognize the phone, the phone now says Fast Charging, but the phone continues to drain over time vs charging. Some users in the past have gotten a Charging Paused message, by I don't get that message unless I remove the phone from the charging pad.
I've tried two Samsung Fast Charging AC adapters, the USB cable that came with the charging pad, and an Aukey cable, same results.
Has anybody else experienced any issues like this with their Note 8 or convertible charging pad?
Edit: MST also doesn't work, I'd guess it's related.

Only way to diagnose this would be by trying to charge the phone with another wireless charging pad.
Does your phone charge normally through the provided type-C cable and power adapter?
Found a non-convertible style wireless charger a co-worker had, which charges his S7, but doesn't charge mine Note8. Could it be the phone itself?

I would not rule that out. I would take your charger and phone to a local best buy and test against a display, if your charger charges other phones, then it's your note. Or try your carriers local corporate store, they probably would help as well.
Sent from my Galaxy Note8 using XDA Labs
Well I can verify that the phone is the problem. Note 8 won't charge on any wireless charging pad, and Samsung Pay's MST also stopped working at the same time. Going to contact Samsung and see what can be done, hope I don't have to set up a new phone yet again.
This happens to me alot. I have 2 wireless pads, 1 verizon (from my note 7) and the Samsung Fast Charge.. It just stops working randomly.. Reboot the phone, then starts working fine again.
I still use my Nokia wireless pad....I found it charged the time as the Samsung fast wireless charger.
Probably not much help but are you on the latest firmware? When I updated mine it said the new changes were for the camera & wireless charging but of course no other details.
I haven't had a problem with mine though even before the update. I don't have the bundled charging pad though, I'm using the older Samsung fast charge pad.
https://www.sammobile.com/2017/09/1...-firmware-update-improves-camera-performance/
Good luck. Same problem with my s8+, samsung says its not the phone. But it is. Every problem with a warranty repair is like pulling teeth with samsung. I wish LG would up thier phone game just a little, and I would never buy another samsung again.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
is this after the 9/25 update? Mine stopped charging after that update on both Samsung fast wireless chargers I have.
I have a Note 5 that will not charge on either a normal wireless Samsung charger or a fast charger Samsung pad IF the protective case is on it. This started just this week. I can remove the protective case and then it will charge.
I don't recall getting an update on or after 9/25. N950USQU1AQI5. I did get an update that improved camera performance, but it was a week or two ago. Just performed a factory reset, no luck on a fresh install. I can also confirm MST on Samsung Pay still doesn't work after factory default, they have to be related. Frustrated I'm going to have to deal with warranty. After two Note 7's, going through another Note 8 is beyond frustrating. QA @ Samsung could really use some work.
So Samsung has agreed to repair/replace the phone, but I'll be without the phone for 3 weeks. Since I just switched to Verizon, the only old cell phone I have won't work. Since I bought from Samsung.com directly, Verizon won't help. Samsung.com refuses to provide a loaner/temp phone or to cross-ship a new one. Their manufacturing defect means I have to bear the burden of their problems. I wouldn't care too much about wireless charging, but MST is also affected, and I love MST.
Lesson learned - Never purchase a phone directly from Samsung.com, even if that means getting a discount or promotion.
I just sent my Note 8 in for the Same thing. After 4 weeks of ownership it stopped charging wirelessly.
The Samsung Rep I spoke to seemed to think it was related to the NFC, something about NFC being involved in the wireless charging some how. So MST must be the reason.
I sent my Axon 7 for warranty repair the same day. Luckily I still have my LG V20 and Nexus 6P (with is horridly degraded battery), so I have backup phones.
I'm on firmware AQI5 and wireless charging has stopped working completely. I've tried Samsung and third party chargers, all of which worked last week and still work with other phones. So I'm thinking it's a firmware bug...

Describes my problem almost perfectly. Now on my third VZW note 8. First one charged fast wireless for exactly a month. Second one, worked for eight days. Now the third, 7 days.
All four of my offical Samsung wireless chargers quit recognizing at the same time. FYI; two charge pads and two charge stands all fast wireless and purchased thru out my time with S7 Edge (went thru 2 rounds note 7). To add to that the new promo convertible quit at the same time as well.
Pretty darn sure it's in the phones. The latest phone charged wirelessly to 100%, then nine hours of driving later, no go. Pulled my UAG Monarch off, still nothing. Tried the other wireless chargers, nothing. No new apps or settings changed during my drive. Thoroughly confused.
All three of phones were put thru the ringer with VZW tech support: check this, check that, safe mode and the end all factory data reset, still no go every time. I contacted Samsung directly once, what a waste of time. Their only answer was send it in for evaluation and possible repair or replacement, you should have your phone back in a couple weeks. Second go around with Samsung, I was transferred by VZW. Their answer that time was; send the phone and the charger. Had to reply, which charger, all of them? Samsung, then told me all of my older chargers aren't compatible with the note 8 and must have damaged it. That style of charger is still readily available and advertised as note 8 compatible.
I've never used NFC or MST, so I can't comment on that.
All three phones fast charge on the wire.
Can anyone verify compatibility or lack there of with all these fast wireless chargers I own?
Willing to try anything at this point. I would dump the 8, if I didn't use the pen so much. Been using note phone since the 2.
It's the phone. Contact Samsung for warranty repair.
Just got mine back and its working fine again.

According to the rep I spoke to it was to do with NFC, as it is somehow involved with the wireless charging process.
Sound a bit strange, but others are saying that wireless or MST payments are both affected. So I guess wireless payments and wireless charging are somehow connected.

I don't think it is. I got them to do a warranty replacement, and my new phone worked fine. But, as soon as I wiped my old phone in preparation for returning it, it started working as well. Then, a couple of days later, my new phone stopped wireless charging.
Right now, I am just hoping that the Oreo update fixes it.

Nokia 7 plus charger connects / disconnects several times

Hi all!
I saw on Google many users with similar issue although not for Nokia 7 plus. I got few quality chargers around the house, in specific LG and Samsung, relatively new, cables solid with tight connector entry, not to mention they work perfectly for 3-4 devices. In fact, I didn't even took Nokia charger out of the box.
But, when I connect my 7 plus to those chargers, phone give "chimes" for connect /disconnect and also statusbar icon changes. It happens many times until phone charges around 10% or more and then stops. What could be the problem?
I don't like the idea that phone should be so picky....
Now i see related thread on Nokia forums: https://community.phones.nokia.com/support/discussions/topics/7000023335

Well could just be an issue of compatibility. Keep in mind n7p supports QC 3.0 while perhaps LG or Samsung chargers you are using might have other proprietary charging methods, thus the issue.
My suggestion is that you use the cable provided with the said charger and see if the problem replicates. If not, then the cable are at fault.
Secondly try to use the Nokia charger with the Samsung or LG cable and see the results.
P/s: the chime you got, does it sound like Gmail?
I also have the same but the phone charges all the way. Maybe is the phone negociating with the charger what should the voltages and amperage be?!?!
Hi,
I am using an Anker charger with 4 ports, one of which is quick charge. No problems when connecting the Nokia phone.
One chime at the connection, says charging and after that changes to charging rapidly, nothing differently than using the Nokia original charger.
Same thing for the car charger.
All the time I am using Nokia cable.

No, but you did address another problem:
even without battery saver mode ON, when connected to the charger it does momentarily sync Gmail and Facebook etc. which means battery life is unacceptably preserved by not syncing maybe crucial stuff (emails).

I do not on know at I am not using Gmail. I think the chime is related to your default notification sound (which may be the same for Gmail)

I am in doubt as to buy an aftermarket charger + cable from Anker related to increased charging speeds. I have the original N7P charger but would like to know from you guys if its worth purchasing an anker charger (QC3.0) plus an anker cable (USB-c 3.1 gen 2)? Will i notice a significant difference?
The Nokia 7 Plus connecting and disconnecting is a hardware issue. I sent mine back to Nokia for repair.
I think the port just doesn't like anything other than the genuine charger, whether it's a design flaw or what I don't know.
But, you think you can buy a genuine Nokia USB C charger in the UK? I asked Nokia support on the website and they said "try going to the retailer you bought the phone from", I said "I bought my phone on the Nokia website, I'm talking to that retailer right now, it's you". "Oh...then try Argos or Amazon, Carphone Warehouse maybe".
Nokia support is f***ing terrible! They don't even know where they sell their own chargers in the UK. And I'll be damned if I can find one anywhere.
I usually use Anker etc., but given how sensitive this phone is with the chargers I just need to find a couple of genuine ones.
