On my device, the microphone works with some kind of noise reduction. At least the sound. Is it possible to remove it? There is nothing in the settings.

I have a problem, it seems the mic gain is too high on my ics stock n7000XXLRB (bulgaria). I am using the netcore 14 kernal. I had used a custom rom before and the problem still existed then. Now with the stock ics, it seem the mic gain is too loud and people hear background noise when I call them. I tried video recording and the background noise was just too loud. how can I decrease my mic setting?
not sure
I'm not sure if the problem is the mic gain but the noise cancellation instead since you're describing your situation as a "lot of background noise"..
There are 2 mics on the phone (one on the top edge) and they work with each other to cancel out the background noise.. It might be the kernel that's not working properly with the noise cancellation or your second mic is defective..
If the mic gain is too high as you stated, the other line would hear your voice as terribly distorted like on a speaker on very max volume.
I am on Sprint and I noticed when I answer a phone call and some says hello they sound a little more crisp, but within a few seconds its almost like a noise reduction kicks in and it makes the call sound more like it has minor background noise or something. Its hard to explain, but its a noticeable difference of some kind in sound.
I am not sure where/if this phone has a noise reduction mic? Perhaps its that dot on the camera lens area on the back? I don't think the normal mic shares this feature if it has it?
Regardless I just wondered if anyone else knows what I am talking about? Is it an adjustment in the call quality within seconds of talking to someone, and is it normal I guess is my main concern.
Thanks!
Appears many notice this issue with the speaker white noise.

Is anybody finding the microphone on their Mix to be too quiet? When I use snapchat, skype, and phone calls, the person on other end complains that I'm barely audible. However, when I record something with the recorder app, it sounds much louder and clearer than a recording in snapchat under the same conditions. I have a feeling it's the noise cancelling microphones on top that are muffling the main microphone, but I don't have a way to test this. I've checked the mic grille for debris and already cleaned as much as I can without disassembling the phone. I don't think it's a hardware issue, because again, the issue seems to be app-dependent. I had this problem on stock MIUI 8 global, but now I'm running the latest RR build with Dragonxia, and the above scenarios still hold true. Anybody else experiencing microphone issues or has any idea how to solve this?
What case are you using? Maybe you've got one that blocks some of the mic holes? I use mine naked and haven't had a problem with microphone on miui 8. There are known mic issues on RR/Lineage ROMs.
Hello I have a problem with my Phone.
I used in my phone Nokia 8 external plain earphones philips without built-in microphones.
When i use headphones other person which I made the call heard background noise.
I think phone's mic and background noise reduction mic should still be active with this connection
unfortunately it seems that the background reduction mic is not working when i connect plain headphones. and other people can't hear me propely
It's chance to fix this?
Hi everyone,
I am looking for a way to lower the sensitivity of the noise cancellation mic (top mic ) that is actually making callers Gear their own voice when calling me .
I am looking for a way to lower it's sensitivity or completely disable it.
